Megan McKenna opened up about her split with the late Mike Thalassitis on Celebs Go Dating weeks before he passed away.
Mike, who was found dead aged 26 on Saturday, was in a relationship with the former Towie star for seventh months last year, having confirmed the split in July 2018.
Speaking about their romance, Megan told Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson: ‘I think my last relationship, I was kind of… I think I definitely fell in love.’
Upset by the conversation, the 26-year-old emotionally shut down the chat, telling the dating experts that she didn’t want to talk about it anymore.
At the time that the couple decided to go their separate ways, Megan told Good Morning Britain presenters: ‘I do think everything happens for a reason.
‘I’ve been away, I’ve cleared my head, I feel good about myself, I’m doing my music, I’m working on an album.’
When asked whether there was a chance of rekindling the relationship, Megan replied: ‘No. I just feel like everything does happen for a reason and the path I’m going in my life right now is definitely not that way.’
Months after Megan and Mike went their separate ways, Mike denied claims of ‘revenge porn’ as Megan refuted claims that she ‘trashed his house and punched him.’
Weeks before they broke up, Megan had expressed a desire in marrying Mike and having children.
Telling OK! Magazine in July, she enthused: ‘I reckon we’ll live together soon. He stays over a lot, so it would definitely work. I do want to marry him – we’d have such an amazing wedding!
‘I want three children and I want them all to look like Mike – he’s got nice tanned skin and green eyes.’
Celebs Go Dating honoured Mike, who appeared on the series in February last year, over the weekend with a tribute at the end of the episode.
Celebs Go Dating continues tonight at 9pm on E4.
