Model Karlie Kloss has revealed that she ‘loved’ the recent essay penned by her friend Taylor Swift about the now obsolete celebrity power squad she was once a part of.
There was a brief but shining moment sometime in the year 2015 when a mammoth power group made up of singers, actresses and models – and unofficially headed by the Look What You Made Me Do Singer – existed.
At one point, many women with iMDB pages and songs and magazine spreads wanted to be part of Taylor’s group, including actress Anne Hathaway.
Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Jaime King and Lorde were just some of the A-listers attached to the squad.
In short, Taylor & Co were undisputed #squadgoals.
It was not meant to last, and after 2016’s Snapchat beef between Kim Kardashian and 29-year-old Swift over a line in Kanye West’s song Famous, the crew would slowly disintegrate.
Karlie however, remains close with the singer. During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a fan asked her about Taylor’s recent Elle essay about the squad.
For reference, this is what she wrote about them: ‘In my twenties I found myself surrounded by girls who wanted to be my friend. So I shouted it from the rooftops, posted pictures, and celebrated my newfound acceptance into a sisterhood, without realising that other people might still feel the way I did when I felt so alone.
‘It’s important to address our long-standing issues before we turn into the living embodiment of them.’
In response, Karlie reaffirmed their friendship, and praised the singer for her strong work ethic: ‘Taylor’s incredible and I feel lucky to call her a friend and she’s one of the hardest working women and I loved her essay.’
There it is, they’re still mates!
