Cardi B is set to make her big screen debut and will star alongside Jennifer Lopez in new movie Hustlers.
Hustlers tells the story of a group of strippers who get revenge on their clients and according to Deadline, Cardi will join All I Have singer Jennifer, who has been cast as the lead.
The movie will be directed by Lorene Scafaria who is hoping to flip gender stereotypes on their head.
Previously speaking about the film, she said: ‘Men have been told they’re worth the size of their bank accounts. Women have been told they’re worth the symmetry of their faces, their bodies, their beauty and that’s what the film is based on. The rules of the club and the rules of the world.’
Riverdale star Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer and Julia Stiles will also star in Hustlers.
Speaking about its star-studded cast, Scafaria told the publication: ‘I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women. We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast.’
Filming begins for Hustlers at the end of this week and the upcoming film will be Cardi’s movie debut.
The rapper knows all too well about the stripping industry and has openly spoken of her past as a stripper and how she doesn’t think it should be so taboo.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she said: ‘People say, “Why do you always got to say that you used to be a stripper? We get it,” because y’all don’t respect me because of it, and y’all going to respect these strippers from now on.
‘Just because somebody was a stripper don’t mean they don’t have no brain.’
J Lo, who recently got engaged to boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, has been preparing for her role in the upcoming stripper flick by learning how to pole dance.
