Chris Evans is set to swap one BBC role for another after announcing he will quit The One Show to focus on his Top Gear job.
The Radio 2 DJ – who was revealed as the show’s new presenter earlier this week – has been a part of the BBC One show for five years, currently hosting the Friday evening edition alongside Alex Jones.
However he has now confirmed that he will be leaving – and will give further details during tonight’s programme.
The BBC announced earlier this week that Evans would be replacing former host Jeremy Clarkson, with the 49-year-old signing a three-year deal to present the BBC Two show.
