Microsoft’s xCloud gunning for GeForce Now with PC games on TV via Xbox

Sources are claiming that Microsoft’s xCloud service will allow players to stream their PC games onto their TVs via the Xbox console.

Microsoft’s streaming service, Project xCloud, may still be in the early stages, but it seems to have some interesting new prospects already planned.

According to journalist Brad Sams on YouTube, Microsoft intends to incorporate a feature similar to Nvidia’s own GeForce Now service.

Currently, xCloud allows users who have access to the preview to stream games to their Android devices, with plans to bring it to Windows 10 PCs later in the year.

But apparently, it will also give players the option to stream their PC games, be they from Steam or the Epic Games Store, to other devices like tablets and, potentially, TVs.

This means players will be able to play their PC games in their living room via their Xbox console.

‘Microsoft is working on that exact same technology and it is coming,’ said Sams, ‘I would expect them to announce it hopefully soon. I just know that Microsoft has the technology for where you can play a game on your PC and stream it across xCloud to any type of device.’

The beta preview for xCloud is still currently available in the UK, the US, Canada, and South Korea. To take part, though, you must have an Android 6.0 device or newer, which has at least Bluetooth version 4.0.

iOS users can register for a preview so long as their device is running on at least iOS 13.0 but they will only have access to one game – Halo: The Master Chief Collection – as opposed to the 50+ games available to Android users.

Project xCloud is expected to become available to the general public later this year.

Xbox Series X can resume games after reboot, audio ray-tracing also teased

No way, it has audio ray-tracing?! … What’s that? (pic: Microsoft)

A welcome new feature for the Xbox Series X will allow players to reboot the console mid-game and not lose their progress.

Microsoft has already made a good case as to why you should invest in its next gen Xbox Series X console, thanks to its Smart Delivery service, but that hasn’t stopped the publisher from dropping hints about other features.

In a recent podcast, which was then transcribed by The Verge, Microsoft’s director of programming Larry Hryb revealed that the console would have a quick-resume feature.

Basically, it will allow players to reboot the console mid-game and then immediately pick back up where they left off. This will apparently also work for multiple games that have been left in a suspended state.

‘I had to reboot because I had a system update, and then I went back to the game and went right back to it,’ said Hryb, ‘So it survives a reboot.’

This could also be useful for players who may need to suddenly leave a play session but don’t have the ability to save their progress, as they can leave the console on stand-by and return to it later.

Microsoft’s director of Xbox program management, Jason Ronald, also teased something called audio-ray tracing, which will apparently allow for greater immersion with Xbox Series X games.

‘With the introduction of hardware accelerated ray-tracing with the Xbox Series X, we’re actually able to enable a whole new set of scenarios, whether that’s more realistic lighting, better reflections, we can even use it for things like spatial audio and have ray traced audio,’ explained Ronald.

Microsoft had intended to reveal more at GDC (Game Developers Conference) next month, but has recently announced that it is pulling out due to concerns regarding the coronavirus.

Instead, it will be hosting its own digital event on its website, as reported by Gematsu.

The Xbox Series X is currently slated to release in time for Christmas this year.

This Morning’s Holly Willoughby is thanking her lucky stars (and her social media followers) after her daughter Belle’s lost teddy was found.

The presenter sent out a plea on Instagram after her eight-year-old lost her sweet teddy, with Holly describing it as a ‘nightmare moment’.

And, just two hours later, the star revealed the lost bear had miraculously been found.

‘Insta you are amazing… Ted’s been found!!!’ she wrote. ‘He had decided to stay on after my birthday weekend away but is now ready to come home…

‘Thank you for all your help and lovely messages… and a huge huge thank you to @sohofarmhouse for finding him!!!! Can’t wait to tell Belle after school…’

The mum-of-three wasn’t the only one to be astonished by Ted’s comeback, with Kelly Brook commenting: ‘That’s so Sweet!!!!!’

Meanwhile, Rochelle Humes and Eamonn Holmes shared the happy news on This Morning, with The Saturdays star saying: ‘Holly’s been going through that classic parent nightmare – we’ve all been there – her daughter Belle lost her teddy Ted.’

She added: ‘By the power of social media, we’re pleased to say that Ted has been found and on his way back to Belle! This is where social media is powerful, I think.’

Taking to Instagram, Holly had previously written: ‘Help… we’ve had that nightmare moment where Belle has lost her favourite ‘Ted’ … He is an old @arsenal teddy and had an Arsenal badge with a year on his foot…

‘I wish I had a better photo! I’ve searched everywhere and also online for a replacement… can anyone help? Have you seen him, Have you got the same bear at home that you may not need anymore, can I buy a replacement somewhere? … poor Belle is so sad to loose her best friend …😥 Thank you xxx.’

Holly’s previously been keen to keep her kids out of the spotlight, but has given fans glimpses in the past, including during a sweet half-term holiday last year, and when they enjoyed a ‘dreamy night’ at Winter Wonderland during the holidays.

Safe to say she’s going to be a very popular woman when Belle gets home from school.

Love Island winner Paige Turley hits back at Lewis Capaldi’s Brits speech

One of the greatest gifts from Love Island this year was the ongoing saga between exes Paige Turley and Lewis Capaldi.

Well, we say saga.

It was basically just Lewis saying a bunch of funny things, like how he wants a cut of Paige’s prize money, etc.

But one of his most iconic Paige Turley moments was when he revealed in his Brit awards acceptance speech that Someone You Loved wasn’t about the Love Island beauty like we’d all thought.

No, the Scottish crooner actually penned the belter for his dead nan.

And now that she’s out of the villa, Paige has had some time to react to her teenage sweetheart’s shout-out.

Lewis Capaldi
Lewis revealed Someone You Loved wasn’t actually about Paige at the Brits (Picture: Reuters)

‘I did [hear about his comments]’ the 22-year-old told Heat magazine.

‘I’m actually yet to see it.’

Tbf, she’s busy being all happy and in love with Finn Tapley.

We’ll let you off this once, Paigey.

The Scottish singer also found out Lewis’ song Hold Me While You Wait was written about her.

‘Oh, really? See, I’ve not really caught up. That’s deep,’ she commented.

Love Island winners Finley Tapp and Paige Turley

Meanwhile, Finn may have some shaky vocals at best but he’s still keen to collaborate with Lewis on a single.

‘I’m a big fan, I’m just waiting on his call [to duet],’ he added.

Our ears are so ready for this track.

It comes after Paige refused to give Lewis a cut of her £25,000 winnings after he suggested that he ‘slide her two grand’.

‘That’s just Lewis, it comes as no surprise he said that,’ she told The Sun.

‘But I can’t give him any money because once I pay off my debts there’ll be nothing left.’

She’s got a point.

Love Is Blind: Are Amber and Barnett still married?

Netflix’s hit dating show Love is Blind has come to a dramatic end, with the final episode revealing which couples tied the knot and who was jilted at the altar.

The bonkers 10-part series sees singletons speak to a host of anonymous potential love matches, before having to propose to the one they have the most connection with.

And in a shock ending, ex-tank mechanic Amber actually married the guy who refused to return her calls.

Until Barnett signed on the dotted line, she had no clue if she had a husband and, honestly, we were doubtful.

He was easily the most reluctant Love Is Blinder to walk down the aisle, but he did it nonetheless and no one saw it coming.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly he said: ’Amber just had that fire that I needed in my life.’

But, with the show being filmed over a year ago in late 2018, are the pair still together now?

Are Amber and Barnett still married?

They became the first couple to get married in the finale and they remain married until this day.

Commenting on the couple’s romantic success, series creator Chris Coelen told The Wrap: ‘I think that’s just a testament to the authenticity of the whole thing.’

‘They went through this process, built this relationship and put it to the test. It’s trial by fire and their relationships are forged incredibly strongly. I don’t see them ever slowing down.’

Whilst neither have spoken about their marriage post-show, eagle-eyed Instagram followers spotted the same patriotic hat worn in separate photos of Barnett and Amber, potentially eluding to their long-lasting matrimony.

Barnett shared a photo of himself celebrating last Fourth of July, and chilling in the water holding a drink and wearing the American-flag styled hat.

Around the same time, Amber posed in a bikini wearing the same hat Barnett wore, with the caption reading: ‘Happy birthday America!’

Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix now.

Who was John Tenniel – the Alice In Wonderland illustrator being celebrated with a Google Doodle?

Google is celebrating the 200th birthday of much-loved Sir John Tenniel in its Doodle today.

The British illustrator is highly regarded for his Victorian drawings, notably for bringing to life the characters of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland series.

The Doodle features an animated slideshow from the fantasy books, including Alice meeting the Chesire for the first time.

It was designed by Google Doodle art director Matthew Cruickshank and will feature on the homepage for 24 hours.

Who was Sir John Tenniel?

John Tenniel was a self-taught illustrator, and at just 16 submitted an oil painting of his to the Society of British Artists.

In 1845 he submitted a 16-foot cartoon to a competition calling for a mural to decorate the new Palace of Westminster.

He received £100 and a commission for a painting in the Upper Waiting Hall in the House of Lords.

Sir John reached new heights in 1850 when he was welcomed to join the historic magazine Punch as a political cartoonist, where he worked for over half a century.

One of his best known satirical drawings was Dropping the Pilot which depicted the forced resignation of Otto von Bismarck from the government of Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany in 1890.

While at Punch, Sir John was approached by Charles Dodgson – better known by his pen name of Lewis Carroll – who wanted the illustrator to work on his upcoming release Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

And so began the creative partnership of Sir John and Carroll, albeit a strained one.

The author was known for being quite particular about the illustrations and provided many details and instructions to Sir John, who later refused to work on Carroll’s second book Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found There.

He allegedly reached out to an illustrator Carroll was trying to get as a replacement to warn him the author was ‘impossible’ and ‘conceited’.

Although Carroll contacted many illustrators, none met his standards, and after two and a half years of persuasion, Sir John finally decided to get back on board.

After his work on the Alice in Wonderland series, Sir John never accepted another commission again.

Instead he continued with his post at Punch, where his considerable contributions to both there and the novels earned him a knighthood in 1893.

He died just days before his 94th birthday in 1914, in his home city of London.

Love Is Blind finale after-party confirms this married couple is still together

**Warning: major spoilers ahead for the Love Is Blind finale**

After three weeks, we got to see who would say ‘I Do’ and who would be a runaway bride or groom as Love Is Blind came to its crescendo.

In the end, just two of the five couples actually went through with it – Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton, and Matthew Barnett and Amber Pike.

And it looks like we have confirmation that at least one of the couples has gone the distance.

Social media videos from the official Netflix screening of the Love Is Blind finale showed that Lauren and Cameron are still together, with the couple kissing at the after-party.

Our hearts!

Two of the Love Is Blind cast who saw their appearances pretty much cut from the show, Danielle Drouin and India Bridgeforth, uploaded videos from the screening party to their stories, where they reunited with stars like Barnett and Giannina Gibelli.

And in both of their stories, Lauren and Cameron could be seen kissing, with their castmates cheering them on as they got married on screen.

Lauren, dressed in a black sequinned dress, was also seen punching the air as she celebrated their marriage.

While the final only dropped on Thursday, it was actually filmed way back in 2018 – so the Hamiltons have been married for over a year.

Love Is Blind fans had been sleuthing away to figure out if Lauren and Cameron had gone the distance even before their wedding aired, and noticed some subtle hints supporting their predictions.

In various pictures over the past year, Lauren was seen posing on wooden stairs, or showing off nails against a balcony – which suggested she had moved into Cameron’s gorgeous family home in Decatur, Georgia.

We’ll get to see exactly how married life has been for the Hamiltons when the reunion special drops next week on Netflix.

Viewers will also find out whether Barnett and Amber have stayed together – and judging by pictures of them at the wrap party, things are looking pretty good for them.

It will also be revealed if Giannina and Damian are back together after Damian dumped his bride at the altar.

The couple had an explosive bust-up after their wedding when Damian told Gi that he couldn’t marry her – after she had said ‘I do’.

But it seems they could be back together, as Giannina told Esquire this week: ‘No new love interests, no. Just the same one.’

Kelly and Kenny will also be reunited after Kelly jilted her fiance, as will Jessica and Mark – with Jessica running out on Mark at the altar.

Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix.

Alesha Dixon is one proud mum, as she brought her six-month-old daughter, Anaya Safiya, along to This Morning.

The star was being interviewed about Britain’s Got Talent, as well as the upcoming semi-finals of The Greatest Dancer.

However, it was the tot who became the main attraction and stole the show, leaving viewers at home cooing over the little one.

Alesha’s baby is a real cutie,’ one wrote on Twitter while another added: ‘Omg @AleshaOfficial baby is beautiful.’

And it seems everyone was in agreement (because how can you not fall in love with that face?): ‘Aww Alesha’s baby is just the cutest little bean.’

Addressing motherhood, The Boy Does Nothing hitmaker gushed over her babies, Anaya Safiya and her big sister Azura Sienna, six.

‘It has taken me a while to adjust to having two,’ Alesha said, as her hubby Azuka Ononye was looking after the bambino while she took to the infamous sofa.

‘It’s new challenges but I’m getting there, she’s at that age now where she’s sitting up and eating three meals a day – life is balancing out now.’

The star tends to keep her family life private, but recently shared a picture of her brood when celebrating the new year.

However, the 41-year-old managed to keep her birth underwraps and only announced the new arrival months after she had been born.

Loose Women’s Linda Robson’s husband warned her against ordering Chinese takeaway because of coronavirus

Loose Women’s Linda Robson revealed that her husband warned her against ordering a Chinese takeaway because of the fears over coronavirus.

The panellists spoke out on how fearful they were of the virus, with Linda explaining that she was concerned, partly because of her OCD.

She revealed that she always avoids touching door handles and rails on the tube with her hand, and brought the conversation round to food hygiene.

‘It’s also food hygiene as well isn’t it? You’ve got to be really careful with that,’ she began.

With Kaye Adams pointing out that ‘it’s all aspects,’ Linda continued: ‘We were gonna order a Chinese last week and my husband’s going “No! Don’t order a Chinese takeaway!”‘

Kaye quickly moved the conversation on, saying: ‘We have to be very careful of that, because there has been racism against Chinese people which we really have to step back from.’

Nadia Sawalha added: ‘There are so many Chinese businesses that are really, really suffering.’

Linda went on to say that she did in fact get the takeaway, despite her husband’s remark.

However, viewers weren’t impressed with the comment, with some branding it ‘casual racism’.

Carol McGiffin
Carol revealed she’s not too worried at all (Picture: ITV)

‘Linda Robson throwing out some casual racism while people laughed,’ one said on Twitter. ‘“Don’t order a Chinese.” Fish and Chips tonight from my local that’s run by a great Chinese family.’

Another said: ‘Casual racism on #loosewomen.’

‘I literally can’t believe she came out with that,’ one viewer pointed out, with another saying: ‘I’m lost for words – did she really just say that?’

However, many of the rest of the panel weren’t too worried, with Carol McGiffin putting herself in minus numbers about how worried she is.

Fair enough!

What is the coronavirus and where did it start?

Coronaviruses are a family of diseases which include the common cold and the virus which caused Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which originated in China in 2002 and killed nearly 800 people around the world.

The virus causing concern now is a new strain which has made the jump from animals to people, named Covid-19.

It causes fever and a cough and can make it hard for people to breathe, causing viral pneumonia in severe cases.

Over 2,700 people worldwide have now died after contracting the illness.

How does it affect the lungs?

What are the symptoms of the virus?

The virus is more likely to progress into a severe illness or prove fatal among older patients or those with weakened immune systems.

As it is a viral illness, antibiotics will not help and there is no known cure or vaccine.

Zhang Changchun shows a CT scan image of the lungs of his mother, 53-year old patient Yang Zhongyi, who is a highly suspected case of the new coronavirus yet is unable to get tests to confirm due to local hospitals' lack of testing equipment or beds, according to her son Zhang Changchun, in Wuhan, Hubei province, China January 25, 2020. To avoid the illness, take usual hygiene precautions, such as using a tissue to cover coughs and sneezes, and making sure to wash your hands.

Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth after touching things like poles on public transport and avoid close contact with people suffering an acute respiratory infection.

You should also avoid unprotected contact with wild or farm animals.

So far, 13 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the UK.

Hundreds have been tested for it here, with most of the tests coming back negative.

How many people in the UK have it?

Is Coronavirus in the UK?

Where is Wuhan in China, where coronavirus started?

The virus originated in the city of Wuhan in China, where it is believed to have made the jump from animals to people at a seafood market.

Wuhan is the capital of China’s Hubei province, a landlocked province in central China.

It is built along the Yangtze river, and is around 500 miles west of Shanghai and 690 miles north of Hong Kong.

It is the largest and most populous city in central China, although estimates over its population vary.

Some viewers were in complete agreement with Carol’s point of view, with one even hailing her as the ‘only sensible person on TV’.

The global count of those afflicted with the virus currently hovers around 82,000.

Most recently, the first Brit has died from the virus, after being infected on the Diamond Princess cruise ship which was hit by an outbreak.

The man has not been identified and the Foreign Office said they are looking into the reports.

The quarantined ship, off Japan’s Yokohama port, has seen more than 600 coronavirus infections.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Loose Women for comment.

Saturday Kitchen star Rachel Allen’s eldest son has been jailed for 15 months with another 15 months suspended on drug dealing and drug possession charges.

Joshua Allen, 19, pleaded guilty to possession for sale or supply of more than €22,000 (£18,770) worth of cannabis at the Ballymaloe Cookery School at Shanagarry, Co Cork in September 2018.

The teenager also pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a small amount of cocaine.

He was sentenced today at Circuit Criminal Court in Cork.

Customs officers at Portlaoise Mail Centre became suspicious about a package that arrived from America, addressed to Allen.

He was arrested after he signed for and opened the package, following a controlled delivery.

Joshua is the eldest son of celebrity chef Rachel Allen, who is best known for her RTE series Rachel’s Favourite Food, her appearances on Saturday Kitchen and Market Kitchen and her successful cookbooks.

Rachel had said she was ‘devastated’ at her son’s arrest (Picture: Wenn)

Following Joshua’s arrest in 2018, the 47-year-old chef said: ‘We are making a statement in response to, and hopefully to alleviate, the frenzy of enquiry and speculation on going in relation to our son Joshua.

‘He has been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs (marijuana) with intent to supply them to others. He has admitted his guilt immediately and co-operated fully with the Gardaí.

‘A file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions and when formally charged Joshua will be pleading guilty at the first opportunity.

‘We are absolutely devastated at this turn of events. Our son is eighteen years old, has never been in trouble with the Gardaí, and has made a huge mistake, which will have profound consequences for him.

‘We do not in any way condone his actions, in fact, we utterly condemn them, but it is not for us to condemn him. We must now try to look after our son and our family, the best way we can.

‘We would ask that the legal process would be allowed to proceed to deal with this matter, without interference, and that we would be allowed to deal with this, like any other parents, in a similar position.’

A spokesperson for the Gardaí (Irish police service) said at the time: ‘As part of a joint operation, Revenue Customs Officers have seized approximately €30,000 (thirty thousand euro) of suspected Herbal Cannabis and Gardai have arrested a man in the Shanagarry area of East Cork.

‘Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in Anglesea Street, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenues Customs Service from the South West Region, carried out a joint operation in the Shanagarry area of Co. Cork yesterday afternoon, 30th August 2018.

‘During the course of this operation, Revenue Customs officers seized approximately 1 ½ Kilograms of suspected Herbal Cannabis with an estimated street value of €30,000.’

Rachel and her husband Isaac are also parents to Scarlett and racing driver Lucca.

Alesha Dixon reveals Britain’s Got Talent act causes Simon Cowell to storm off in shock

Filming for this year’s Britain’s Got Talent is currently underway, and while fans anticipate the show’s launch, Alesha Dixon has teased what to expect in the upcoming season.

And it sounds like Simon Cowell gets the umph.

When appearing on This Morning, The Boy Does Nothing hitmaker opened up on one particular act that caused the head judge to storm off in shock.

Eamonn Holmes started to quiz the mum-of-two over the artist Tim Patch, who calls himself Pricasso – a man who paints portraits with his penis.

The act reportedly came on to the BGT stage wearing just a pink thong and a cowboy hat as he proceeded to paint a picture of Simon and David Walliams.

‘It takes a lot to shock us,’ the 41-year-old confessed: ‘But that was one of the moments where I said, “wow.”‘

According to the star, when the hopeful got his, urm, brush out – it all became a bit too much for the music mogul, who left the judging panel.

‘Simon was like, “I’ve had enough, I am out of here,” and he was gone,’ Alesha laughed: ‘Amanda [Holden], David [Walliams] and I went on stage because we had to see it up close.’

She continued: ‘I didn’t believe it, it was shocking absolutely shocking! It was the most bizarre talent I have seen in my life, we can’t put that in front of the royal family – absolutely not.’

‘No, they’ve got enough going on at the minute,’ Rochelle Humes chirped up, after stepping in for Ruth Langsford who had fallen ill.

The music mogul was not impressed (Picture: ITV)

At the time, a source at the theatre said: ‘[Pricasso] was the last act of the night – so Simon, after pressing his buzzer, just left because it was the end of the evening.’

‘This show has taken a dark turn. We’ve lost Simon, he’s gone home,’ David exclaimed after realising his friend had vanished.

It’s not the first time Pricasso has taken his skills to a talent show, as he auditioned for Australia’s Got Talent last year.

Tim somehow managed to paint a pretty decent portrait of judge Shane Jacobson using his bits as the paintbrush.

Nicole Scherzinger could hardly keep it together as she exclaimed: ‘That is a lot to take in! He’s really painting with his willy!’

Britain’s Got Talent will air on ITV later this year while This Morning returns weekdays to the same channel at 10am.

Where to find Fortnite Shadow safe house locations

All the safe houses are hidden across the map (Picure: Epic Games)

Fortnite players have been given new clandestine challenges to infiltrate opposing force Shadow.

In the second week of Season 2, the latest task instructs players to pay a visit to five Shadow safe houses.

However, unlike previously, the hideouts are scattered in plain sight across the map, but disguised as normal buildings.

Once inside the bases, players can expect a tense showdown with Shadow henchmen – so come with weapons prepared.

Before any of that kicks off though, you’ll have to find the safehouses first. It’s a bigger task than it seems, with many players having to rely on a map to find them.

Alpha Shadow Safe House

This safe house is located on the eastern side of Pleasant Park, hidden beneath the football field.

It can be accessed via any of the three portaloos: one in the northwest corner beside a grey house, one in the northeast corner behind the petrol station, and one in the southest corner under the orange tree.

Beta Shadow Safe House

The second base is also located underground, just east of Frenzy Farm.

Players have to go to the petrol station and hop into one of the two portaloos – the first to the west inside the small brick building and the second to the east, next to the bus stop.

Charlie Shadow Safe House

The third safe house can be found in a plain building previously owned by FN Radio.

Delta Shadow Safe House

This hideout is located on Lazy Lake Island, the larger of the two islands north of Misty Meadows.

It’s posed as a big, unassuming house.

Echo Shadow Safe House

The last of the safe houses can found south of Sweaty Sands and north of Holly Hedges.

It doesn’t look like much but it has blue fan boxes on the outside, similar to those found in previous safe houses.

Love Island’s Paige Turley and Finley Tapp have just revealed exactly how they got away with having sex in the villa, the sly foxes.

This year’s winners recently admitted they did get down and dirty in bed, after weeks of viewers trying to decipher their suspect rustling under the sheets.

So how is one to join the Do Bits Society on national television?

Paige has let us in to their nifty trick.

Turns out, it just involves a simple manouevre with their pillows and the headboard mike.

The 22-year-old accidentally revealed their hack while talking about how she still whispers in bed with Finn because she’s so used to being in the villa.

Finn and Paige
The trick is to put your pillow over the headboard mike (Picture: ITV)

‘We were whispering in bed,’ she told Heat.

‘And he was like, “Why are you whispering? We’re the only people in the room”.

‘You just get so used to it [being in the villa].’

Finn added: ‘Because we had a mike in the headboard. It’s right above your head so you’re aware of it.

‘And you do tend to whisper to try and…’

Amy Hart interjected with a little tip from her own series last year.

‘If you push the headboard mike through it takes them a couple of days to notice and put them back,’ she advised.

Paige nodded, confessing: ‘We used to stick pillows up and they’d go “Can you please remember the pillows?” and you’d go…’ and mimed rolling her eyes.

Despite their best efforts to conceal their night-time antics, Paige and Finn ended up admitting to having sex when they left the villa.

Paige said: ‘Being in there and sharing a bed for so long and having genuine feelings, it’s hard to fight them.’

Amy Hart
Amy Hart added that you can also push the mike into the headboard (Picture: E4)

‘You go in there and you think, ‘I’m not going to do it’, all of this, all of that,’ Finn added.

‘But then you’re living 24/7 having genuine solid, feelings for someone and are really attracted to them!

‘And some of them bikinis – phwoar!’

Paige isn’t even annoyed that Finn dished all about their antics to the rest of the club via ‘breakfast club’ – aka the world’s worst code.

‘To be fair, that’s lad banter – so whatever,’ she said, joking: ‘The code was intellectual for the boys. They were terrible at hiding it – I knew exactly what was going on.’

Love Is Blind season 2 is so happening and could be coming to the UK

Love Is Blind could be coming to the UK! (Picture: Netflix/METRO)

Love Is Blind wrapped up this week and, naturally, we’re bursting at the thought of season 2.

Nick Lachey has gone from near obscurity to somehow landing the number one show in the world with Love Is Blind, which has become the biggest surprise hit of the year out of absolutely nowhere.

The premise: eight men and women find love without seeing each other and can only come into actual contact if they agree to get married – which they then do in 30 days. It is wild.

Naturally, Metro.co.uk caught up with showrunner Chris Coelen who not only assured season two is pretty much in the bag but there’s a good chance us Brits will be able to fall blindly in love too.

‘We’re certainly talking about [season 2], yeah,’ he told us. ‘I think it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing people put to the test of whether love is blind well into the future.

‘That’s what I would certainly hope for.’

Love is Blind, Lauren and Cameron (Picture: Netflix)
Two couples are still married from Love Is Blind (Picture: Netflix)
Provider: Netflix

As for the chances of a UK edition, Chris is really up for it: ‘Absolutely! 100 percent yet. Let’s make it happen, I’d love it.’

We’re desperately single and in – sign us up.

But does Love Is Blind actually work? While the concept is by far the most absurd for a dating show since Naked Attraction, two couples – Matt Barnett and Amber Pike as well as Lauren Speed and Cameron – tied the knot and are still married two years later.

We spoke to relationship expert, psychologist and therapist, Dr. Kalanit Ben-Ari, who told us: ‘it is possible for people to fall in love without physically seeing each other, but I think maintaining satisfying, long-lasting relationships in today’s culture requires a certain level of physical attraction.

‘Individuals may find that their past “requirements” such as height, age and so on, are less important when they fall in love blindly.’

Tell that to Jessica Batten and Mark Cuevas…

Love is Blind is available to stream on Netflix.

Liz Hurley has become known for her bikini snaps on Instagram, that have made us all believe a) the fountain of youth is real and b) she holds the key.

But the 54-year-old is hoping that when she enters her sixties, her two-piece will no longer be the talk of Instagram.

When asked if she still saw herself posing in bikinis in 10 years time by Tatler, the Austin Powers actress said: ‘Please, God, no – I hope not.’

We’re sure there are now legions of disappointed fans…

So, without bikini shoots, what will Liz be doing in the year 2030?

‘God – the same probably. Hopefully getting some interesting work, hopefully still living in my house in the country because I love it, and hopefully the garden will be even more exquisite; hopefully my son will be happy… More of the same and better, I guess.’

One picture sees the actress in a purple fitted leather coat, with a white pill box hat and matching gloves, while another shot shows Liz in a dining room in a stunning one-shouldered silk dress.

As for the cover, Liz rocked a turquoise Miu Miu coat as she emerged from a plane.

And in the special issue, the star discussed whether she would consider marriage again.

The Bedazzled star, who is mum to 17-year-old Damian from her relationship with Steve Bing, said: ‘I’d definitely be open to the idea of being loved, loving someone, having someone fantastic in my life and sharing it.

‘I don’t know if marriage comes into that to be honest, because I’m not going to have more children, and I don’t need anyone to pay my bills or give me a roof over my head. But I would like someone for companionship, fun.’

Sonic The Hedgehog Movie: four missed fan service opportunities

$

The movie’s perfectly fine, but it could’ve been so much more (Pic: Paramount Pictures/Sega of America)

Sonic The Hedgehog’s live action movie certainly has references to the original games, but we can’t help but feel there could have been more.

*** WARNING: SPOILERS FOR SONIC THE HEDGEHOG MOVIE ***

Those hoping that the Sonic The Hedgehog movie would be an absolute dumpster fire will be disappointed to hear that it’s simply average. Although we don’t think it’s as good as Detective Pikachu, it’s a serviceable kid’s film with a few winks and nods to Sega’s iconic franchise.

But after looking back at what was offered, we noticed that there were quite a few opportunities for even more fan service beyond small references.

These certainly wouldn’t have improved the film’s overall quality but they could have helped make it feel more like a Sonic movie rather than a movie with Sonic in it.

Before we carry on, though, we must warn you that there will be spoilers for the movie ahead.

The Echidnas

Knuckles wallpaper
Here’s hoping they’re at least saving Knuckles for the sequel (Pic: Sonic Channel/Sega)

Some fans hoped that long-time rival Knuckles would make some sort of cameo in the movie, but we certainly weren’t expecting to see what appeared to be a whole tribe of echidnas show up as part of Sonic’s backstory, having attacked and chased after him as a toddler.

It honestly made that brief origin story all the more interesting, but it was over before it really went anywhere and the echidnas are never mentioned or alluded to again.

For those unfamiliar with Sonic lore, the echidnas were actually wiped out a long time ago, leaving Knuckles as the sole survivor (excluding Sonic Chronicles and some of the Sonic comics but that’s a whole other story we don’t have time for).

Since the movie is very disconnected from the canon of the games, why couldn’t we have had Knuckles himself leading the charge, if only for the sake of a cameo?

Or, if the movie wanted to go the extra mile, have the leader be Pachacamac, who led the echidna tribe in Sonic Adventure and got everyone killed by a vengeful water god. Yes, that happened.

Robotnik’s Sidekick

Scratch and Grounder Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog
Scratch (left) and Grounder (right) made great comic foils to Robotnik (Pic: Sonic News Network)

In most other Sonic media, Robotnik has usually had an idiot sidekick at his beck and call. And to the movie’s credit, he gets one there in the form of Stone, a government agent that sucks up to the mad scientist at almost every opportunity.

However, in retrospect, why wasn’t Robotnik’s sidekick… a robot? In the original Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon, he had dunderbots Scratch and Grounder try (and fail) to capture Sonic (Grounder’s voice actor, Garry Chalk, who also voiced Robotnik in another cartoon, Sonic Underground, actually has a bit part in the movie).

In the Sonic X anime, it was Decoe and Bocoe, and in the more modern games, he’s had Orbot and Cubot.

It didn’t necessarily need to be any of these pairs, but it would’ve made more sense from a character standpoint, as well for Robotnik to have a more mechanical henchman. Since this version of Robotnik hates people in general, expressing a lot more attachment to his machines.

Snively Satam
Snively was far less of a suck-up than Stone (Pic: Sonic News Network)

And if it had to be a human sidekick, we’re sure those who grew up watching the other other 90s Sonic cartoon, Sonic The Hedgehog (yes, there were three of them) would’ve been surprisingly pleased if it was instead Robotnik’s nephew Snively.

We’re sure that could have still worked for the movie’s plot and, given Robotnik and Snively’s mutual dislike for each other, could’ve led to better banter.

Other Levels

Sonic Unleashed Chun Nan
Somehow, we doubt Sonic’s brief visit to China was intentionally referencing Sonic Unleashed (Pic: Sega)

Admittedly, the chase scene from the movie’s climax was quite enjoyable, as Sonic used his rings to teleport around the world while Robotnik pursued him.

And although his brief stints at the Great Wall of China and the pyramids in Egypt brought back memories of their respective levels from Sonic Unleashed (which was likely unintentional), wouldn’t it have been neat if he instead teleported to more specific levels from the games?

We see Green Hill Zone at the beginning of the movie, and it looked like a faithful recreation. Imagine seeing the movie’s take on another classic location like Chemical Plant from Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and having Sonic avoid the pink water and blue goop being spat out of the tubes.

Or how about an actual alien planet like Planet Wisp from Sonic Colours? The film already has callbacks to the classic games, maybe it could’ve thrown modern fans a bone?

Metal Sonic

Metal Sonic
Metal Sonic first appeared in 1993’s Sonic CD and has been a regular threat since (Pic: Sonic Channel/Sega)

This one feels like the biggest blunder on the movie’s part. Despite being arguably overshadowed by Sonic’s other rivals like Shadow the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat, Metal Sonic continues to be a popular character among the fan-base.

And unlike most of Sonic’s rivals, the two have never acted as allies. Whenever Metal shows up, it’s with the express purpose of defeating Sonic once and for all.

Having him appear in the film’s climax as the final boss would not only have made for a potentially cool fight, but would have definitely earned the film some brownie points for fan service.

There was even an opportunity for it, since Robotnik acquires one of Sonic’s quills and experiments on it. He could’ve used it as a template to create Metal Sonic and used the quill as Metal’s power source.

And when he’s defeated and sent to the mushroom planet, it could’ve been Metal’s disembodied head keeping him company instead of a rock with Stone’s face drawn on it. Man, this just writes itself.

Hopefully, should the movie get a sequel (which, if the mid-credits scene is anything to go by, it certainly seems to hope it will), it will try to incorporate more from the games it’s based on than try and shy away from them.

There is no right way to grieve, so is sharing Caroline Flack’s messages really an act of betrayal?

Caroline Flack''s messages with Danny Cipriani
Danny Cipriani shared his last texts with Caroline Flack

In the wake of Caroline Flack’s tragic death by suicide we have seen many of her celebrity friends share wonderful memories they had with the presenter.

There was Iain Stirling and Love Island’s tribute to her, while Laura Whitmore posted a clip of the two of them on the dance floor.

But not all outpourings of grief have been received equally. This week, Dawn O’Porter urged Caroline’s friends not to share conversations they had had with her after a string of celebrities posted theirs.

Shortly after her death, Piers Morgan discussed his last messages to Caroline, in which he invited her to his Christmas party. Paddy McGuinness also shared an Instagram DM he sent reaching out to her following her arrest. Recently, Caroline’s friend and ex Danny Cipriani showed a WhatsApp conversation where the pair had discussed her upcoming court case.

Working at the UK’s biggest bereavement charity Cruse Bereavement Care, I can understand why Dawn and Caroline’s other friends have responded to her death in such opposite ways. It is an old adage but grief really does affect everyone differently.

While Dawn may see posting private conversations as a ‘massive betrayal’ and something Caroline would have hated, for others, sharing these intimate moments can feel like the right thing to do in the moment.

When you are in pain – especially after losing someone so suddenly to suicide – it’s not unusual to act spontaneously and be less inhibited about disclosing private information.

Because of the way grief manifests so differently from person to person, when someone does so in an alternative way to you, it can feel like they are not doing it ‘properly’.

It’s something I’ve witnessed firsthand during my work at Cruse. In general, criticising the way people grieve and telling them the ‘right’ way to do it never ends to reconciliation. In cases like this, I would suggest an open conversation within a safe place with trusted people is what’s needed.

This is obviously made so much harder when it’s happening in the public arena. Before Caroline took her own life, people already had an opinion about her, so after her death we were always going to see a huge outpouring of different emotions.

And each of these responses is reflective of the relationship that person had with her, which can explain why some feel comfortable sharing messages, while others don’t.

Dawn O Porter tweet

At the same time, while some might feel OK releasing these messages today, they might not by tomorrow, by which time it is out of your control and people already have that insight into your relationship with the person who has died. This is especially the case for those in the public eye.

But that’s the thing about losing someone close to you, the way you feel and the way you act can change hugely – even from day to day.

It’s why we, in our role as bereavement supporters, recommend to hold off sharing anything that you might not feel comfortable with later. Not holding your feelings in is so important, but it is also worth considering where and when you are doing this. Make sure that you are in a safe place, with people you trust to be compassionate, before sharing something you may later regret.

But we also know that for many, social media can be that place. The rise in platforms like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook has given us additional arenas to share our grief. This has coincided with people being more open about their mental health, which is why we can see people talking so honestly about how they have been feeling in the weeks since Caroline’s death.

Regardless of how people are doing it, talking about death in the first place is a positive step. The important thing is that we are communicating and we need to remember there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

At this moment, what we need is compassion – and we need to remember that what we share publicly may affect others who are also grieving.

If we can derive anything useful from this conversation about loss and sorrow, it is a further understanding of how different reactions can be.

Sharing texts may seem like an invasion of privacy and I do think some involved may, with hindsight, feel differently about their decision to post theirs.

Yet, controlling grief, anger and sadness is hard to do and so we would encourage anyone going through these terrible times to turn to people they trust for support.

Caroline died in a really tragic situation and other people are going to see it discussed, and they are going to be affected. We don’t want anyone to feel so alone that they can’t cope; doing that can lead people down very dark paths.

There is no conventional way to grieve, but if you can, just take a step back and have a conversation with those around you, whether that’s from an organisation, friends or family.

If Dawn was able to speak to Caroline’s other friends about how she felt, I’m sure they would understand, and in turn maybe they would have thought twice before sharing these messages publicly.

Cruse Bereavement Care is the largest bereavement charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It provides support, information and advice for adults, children and young people when someone they loved dies.

We have a Freephone National Helpline that is open on weekdays from 09:30 to 17:00and until 20:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The number is 0808 808 1677. More information can also be found on our website www.cruse.org.uk

Liam Gallagher thought he had coronavirus but really, his house was just hot.

Never change, Liam. Never change.

The Oasis rocker experienced the panic of the entire nation when he worried he might have caught the disease.

But it wasn’t a fever or a dry cough that had him frantically Googling the coronavirus symptoms – no, he just felt a bit stuffy.

Liam made the confession when a fan asked him on Twitter: ‘Liam what’s ur thoughts on coronavirus? The situation is getting more and more complicated (sic).’

The 47-year-old replied: ‘It’s very confusing and scary though.

‘I feel like I’ve had it 7 times the last few days then realised the house is just hot.’

He later pretended to sneeze, tweeting: ‘A choo.’

Tbf, Liam had been to Italy, Germany and France in recent weeks as part of his European tour so we understand his concern.

The singer’s fears come after the first Brit died from coronavirus after being infected on a cruise ship.

In the UK, 19 cases have now been confirmed, including one each in Northern Ireland and Wales.

It’s not just Liam’s health concerns that have attracted headlines in recent weeks, as his bitter feud with brother Noel is still rumbling on.

Liam left fans shocked when he claimed ‘greedy’ Noel turned down a £100 million Oasis reunion tour.

Noel wasn’t having it though, and denied the claims before taking the opportunity to shade Liam’s music.

Without naming Liam directly, he tweeted: ‘Nothing to see here dudes and dollies. Silence is still golden..and just in case you weren’t already aware someone still has a new single out.

‘I believe it’s called “Once” which is the exact amount of times it should be played.’

Noel added: ‘It’s still available in all good record shops but mostly in s**t ones. Happy Sunday.’

Ouch.

**Warning: This article contains spoilers for Vikings season six.**

Vikings star Kristy Dawn Dinsmore has been left pining over the show during season six’s midseason break.

The actress, who is currently dating her co-star Alexander Ludwig, took to Instagram with a behind the scenes picture from the epic battle that took place during the latest episode.

In the snap, she can be seen standing among the crew who are adjusting her costume before she returns to the fight as her character Amma.

Alongside the throwback, Kristy shared the caption: ‘Set life #battlefield #vikings.’

Fans were quick to comment, and couldn’t help but share their excitement for the final installment of the History Channel hit.

‘Can’t wait to see the final 10 episodes,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Love seeing the behind the scenes pics and seeing how it comes to life on TV!’

Someone else echoed the same message: ‘Always super cool seeing all that goes into these incredible scenes.’

The show recently left on a cliffhanger, seeing Bjorn (played by Kristy’s man) stabbed through the chest by his brother Ivar The Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen).

And while fans are convinced the King of Kattegat has met his end, it seems the creator Michael Hirst has other ideas.

The 67-year-old told Entertainment Weekly: ‘We haven’t actually seen them dead, but you would imagine that their wounds were grevious enough to probably mean they wouldn’t survive very long.

‘But I wouldn’t be quite certain that they’re dead yet until you actually see that.’

He continued: ‘So, I’m not saying that they are both still alive, but they could absolutely still be alive because we haven’t seen them dead yet.’

Alexander himself, also added to the publication: ‘We don’t really know that, do we? I’ve been ordered by the powers higher than me that I’m not allowed to speak on the subject.’

Vikings season six is expected to return to the History Channel and Amazon Prime later this year.

The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon Cooper originally had a different name

Sheldon Cooper originally had a different name (Picture: CBS)

Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) is the defining character of The Big Bang Theory but it all could have turned out a lot differently – as it turns out the character originally had a different name.

The long-running sitcom followed the adventures of Sheldon and his physicist friends as their new neighbour Penny (Kaley Cuoco) opened up to new ideas.

But it turns out that everyone’s favourite character (don’t lie – you know its true) was only called Sheldon thanks to a last-minute change.

According to Screen Rant, the character’s actual name was Kenny. Kenny Cooper – has a certain ring to it, no?

It turns out, there was a reason for this original name, since the show was going to named after its three leads; Lenny, Penny and Kenny.

This obviously changed a lot in the development process, as Kenny changed to Sheldon, Lenny changed to Leonard and the bosses decided to instead christen the show The Big Bang Theory.

And the rest, as they say, was history. At least they kept the name Penny intact.

The Big Bang Theory creator's diary entry on pitching show to CBS Provider: CBS
With Sheldon instead of Kenny, the show ran for 12 seasons (Picture: CBS)

This isn’t the first we’ve heard about the show’s development process either. Creator Chuck Lorre’s diary notes reveal he had some anxiety pitching the show to networks before it had been commissioned.

‘As I write this I’m moments away from pitching an idea for a new comedy series to the president of CBS, Leslie Moonves,’ the card read. ‘I’ve done this before and it’s always an anxiety-producing experience. Months of work can evaporate in seconds if he does not respond favourably.

‘To make matters worse, I always known when I’m getting a negative response because Les has what poker players call a subtle *tell*. When he doesn’t like something he frowns. Many of the people who work for him are familiar with this tell.

‘When they see it they respond with a tell of their own – they start examining their shoes as if they’ve never seen them before. Anyway, I have to go to a meeting now, keep your fingers crossed!’

However, that’s not the end of the card, with the producer – who’s also responsible for series including Young Sheldon and Dharma and Greg – giving another update just three little dots later.

He added: ‘Okay, I’m back and I think it went fairly well (no perceivable tell). I did made an amateur mistake by telling Les that he and I drive the same cool car, but he didn’t seem to hold it against me.

‘He and his team were courteous, pleasant and appropriately cautious. They ended the meeting by saying they looked forward to seeing a finished script before making a final decision… Hold on, my cell phone is ringing…’

Well, at least we know how that worked out.

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream now via Netflix.
