It’s only been out for a few days, but the latest installment from EL James’s sadomasochistic saga has already broken UK sales records.
Grey, which is a retelling of the first novel of the series, sold more than 647,000 copies in three days, despite receiving terrible reviews.
New figures from publisher Arrow Books reveal the book shifted 385,972 physical copies and 261,429 ebook, a total of 647,401.
This means that it has the biggest first week sales of any adult book, beating Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol, which sold just under 551,000 copies in five days.
