Love is Blind is the Netflix show that turned into a viral sensation overnight, making the participants internet famous in an instant. But along with their new found fame, did the contestants make a fortune too?
The premise of the show asks willing couples to take a chance on love by agreeing to get engaged to someone they have never met face to face and have only spoke to on either side of a screen.
A chance at true love found in an unconventional (and very public) way was on the table for those that made it to the end of the experiment, but did the contestants get paid for appearing on the show?
Do Love Is Blind contestants get paid?
Unlike Love Island, which apparently gives contestants enough money to cover their rent and other bills while they participate in the dating show, the couples on Love Is Blind aren’t known to have been paid ‘anything’.

Netflix’s most popular shows of the moment weren’t on there because they were
paid – it really was about finding love (aww).
‘The participants are paid little if anything,’ a source close to the show told Women’s Health. ‘They are truly in it to find love!’
While the contestants might not receive a salary for their appearance on the show, their new found fame following the hit series may well generate an income for the most popular stars, through potential sponsorship deals, paid social media posts and publicity events.
For those mourning the end of Love is Blind on Netflix after the dramatic finale episode last week, the eagerly-anticipated reunion show will be available to stream this Thursday, providing an insight into where the contestants are now that filming for the show has wrapped.
