Online music videos will now be rated the same way that films are.
Music videos now have to be submitted by record labels to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) before they can be put online for fans to watch.
Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music have joined the government scheme, which will only apply to UK videos made in the UK.
So far the BBFC have cast their eye over 132 videos, with 56 rated 12 and 53 rated 15, including Calvin Harris’ Open Wide for ‘strong bloody violence’ and sexual references.
On YouTube, age ratings will be shown underneath the video.
