Matt Damon has been criticised for interrupting black producer Effie Brown to explain diversity.
The actor and director appeared to suggest that diversity was important when it came to casting films – but not when hiring people behind the camera.
Damon was discussing the subject with Brown, a successful black film producer, whose CV includes Dear White People and and But I’m a Cheerleader.
The pair were appearing on the new series of HBO’s Project Greenlight, a reality TV show where first-time filmmakers are given the chance to win a $3million budget to direct their projects.
