It’s nearly time for Red Nose Day to get fully underway, with Comic Relief programming having already started.
Celebrity Apprentice aired last week, Kilimanjaro: The Big Red Nose Day Climb is on tomorrow: and it’s only a few days until the official Red Nose Day telethon graces our screens.
Of course it’s all to raise money for good causes, but the entertainment part is a big pull, with personalities from Hollywood to right here getting involved.
Here’s what you can expect from this year’s Red Nose Day, as well as who will be part of it.
When is Comic Relief 2019?

- David Tennant
- Joe Sugg
- Paddy McGuinness
- Emma Willis
- Romesh Ranganathan

- Clara Amfo
- Zoe Ball
What’s on?
Four Weddings and a Funeral sequel 7pm-10pm, BBC1
It’s been a quarter of a century since the original, and now the original Four Weddings cast members will be getting together once again.
Expect Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, Rowan Atkinson, and plenty more, in a sketch written by Richard Curtis – writer of the original film and co-founder of Comic Relief.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman’s Strictly danceathon
The Strictly presenters are putting their money where their mouths are this year, and are dancing for a full 24 hours in order to make money for the cause.
So far, they’ve already smashed through 80,000 steps since 7.15pm last night and have been kept entertained by the likes of Beverly Knight, Arlene Phillips, Fleur East and Vernon Kay. Watch the best bits on the night.
Bodyguard comeback 7pm-10pm, BBC1
David Budd has a new assignment in this one-off Comic Relief special.
Mamma Mia Here We Go Yet Again! 7pm-10pm, BBC1
Jennifer Saunders and Philip Glenister will be bringing together all their best acting and comedy mates for a send-up of this year’s box office smash hit.
There will be singing, and there will definitely be some choice dance moves.
Comic Relief Does University Challenge 10pm-10:35pm, BBC2
Host David Baddiel will be asking the big questions to Martin Freeman, Emily Atack, Jason Manford, Kerry Godliman, Robert Rinder, Vick Hope, Luisa Oielan and Darren Harriott.
Will they dumb it down for the celeb lot? Who knows.
Other sketches 10:35pm-midnight, BBC1
After the channel switch to make way for the news, it’s back to BBC1 for more antics.
Freddie Flintoff will be driving Robbie Savage mad, and you’ll be in for a treat when Alan Partridge begins his Norwich round of fundraising.
The cast of Mrs. Brown’s Boys will also have a slot, and there’ll be a chance for Bond fans to win breakfast with 007 himself – Daniel Craig.
Oh, and did we mention there’d be a performance from the cast of Magic Mike? Definitely worth waiting for.
