Harrison Ford’s adventuring archaeologist has won a fan vote and been crowned the greatest movie character in cinematic history.
Over 10,000 votes were cast in the poll held by Empire Magazine, and ‘Indy’ whip-cracked his way to the top beating British Spy James Bond into second place.
The daring professor was first portrayed by Harrison Ford in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, and returned for three sequels.
Developed by George Lucas and Laurence Kasdan after their Star Wars success, the movie and all the follow-ups have been directed by Steven Spielberg.
