The dispute over THOSE ears has been settled between Canadian DJ Deadmau5 and Walt Disney.
Everyone knows what the iconic ears mean – Mickey Mouse.
So when Deadmau5 attempted to trademark the shape of his stage head gear – which includes back mouse ears, a black face, white eyes and a white mouth – for use on other merchandise such as ‘electronic equipment, entertainment services, BMX bikes’, Disney objected.
They claimed Deadmau5’s – real name Joel Zimmerman – headgear was ‘nearly identical’ to Disney’s mouse ears and the dispute lasted almost one year.
