Ubisoft has cancelled what was originally one of The Division’s most distinctive features, as it claims using a tablet will unbalance the game.
It seems Ubisoft may be falling out of love with the fad for tablet and smartphone based companion apps, as the feature is dropped completely for The Division.
When The Division was first being shown off in 2013 the companion app was touted as a major feature. The idea was that you could join in with the game wherever you were, as you controlled an overhead drone that could buff your team-mates’ abilities and attack enemies.
