2005’s Doom is one of the quintessentially awful video game movie adaptations. Not only does it completely ignore the plot of the films but it’s a terrible action film, with no interesting gore or horror elements.
A few of the monsters look the same as the game, even though they’re not portrayed as monsters form Hell, but overall the whole film just seems embarrassed by itself and can’t even be saved by Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson hamming it up as an evil space marine.
The most positive thing you can say about this new adaptation is that it does look a little bit more like the games and seems to be implying that Hell is indeed where all the monsters are coming from.
The obvious problem though is that the film’s budget appears to be somewhere below an episode of Doctor Who, with no actors we’ve ever heard of (apparently the lead used to be in Casualty).
Although that’s not surprising when you realise that the film’s not intended for a cinematic release but is going straight to digital.
Still, maybe they’ve saved all their money for some good creature effects and gore. Although if they have we’re not sure why that zombie’s got a blue head.
Maybe that’s something from the upcoming new game Doom Eternal, which unlike the film is looking very good indeed. Doom Eternal doesn’t have a release date yet but Doom: Annihilation is out this autumn.
It can be hard to love yourself when pretty much everything on the internet tells you otherwise.
But The Fat Jewish and Missguided have joined forces to remind you that, whatever size, race, age, gender, height, you are a 10 – and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Social media star The Fat Jewish, aka Josh Ostrovsky, is the face and body of Missguided’s Self Love Club campaign, and stars with other Babes of Missguided – Sahara Raye, Chinq Pink Adriana Sahar, Genelle Seldon, Tabria Majors, Master of Disguise, Tiana Parker, Taylor Giavasis and Marlow Crossland – in the epic trailer.
And when it came to signing up for the campaign, Josh didn’t have to think twice.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, the 37-year-old said: ‘The Missguided campaign is the perfect fit for me, because it’s all about being yourself, not giving a fuck, for lack of a better phrase, loving your body, having fun, doing whatever you want, and living your whole best life. It’s judgement free, just give absolutely zero fucks.
Welcome to the party (Picture: Missguided)
‘I mean, it is hard. We all say “I don’t care what anyone thinks”, but we all kinda do, right? We live in this giant internet fishbowl and it’s hard to actually not care. But I’m trying to lead the charge. I have a body like Shrek, and if I can wear a thong, if I can wear pink assless chaps on the internet, you can too, you can definitely do whatever you want.’
And as a plus-size model himself, Josh was impressed that Missguided actually practise what they preach when it comes to inviting every shape, size and age to the party.
‘I don’t work with a lot of brands anymore – I own a wine company now, I do my own brands. So it’s gotta be something I really care about, something I really give a shit about, otherwise it’s just not worth it. I’m not an influencer, I’m not going to hold a product and put on the internet something I don’t give a shit about.
Josh is all about the Missguided message (Picture: Missguided)
‘When I met the team, I was like, “this is perfect, they really don’t care”. They do awesome shit – from the body positivity stuff, to how they clap back to people, everything is about taking risks and genuinely being yourself. A lot of places will say they’re willing to take risks and push boundaries, “we’ll do anything, we’re crazy”… I’ll meet with a brand and they’ll be like “we’re nuts, we’re out of control, our CEO is 10 years old, we’re fucking young, we want to do whatever you wanna do. Then I say what I wanna do and they’re like, “that’s not gonna work, legal is freaking out!” But when I started talking to Missguided, I realised they were down for whatever.
Shooting was no hold barred – flaunt it, let it all hang out, we just riffed as we went along. We were just having the best time ever and feeling like we’re fucking 10s.’
Josh and the bevy of Missguided babes preach a six-point plan for self-love: don’t compare, you’re always a 10; dream big, stay humble; love your body; have fucking fun; just love yourself; and live your best life.
And in joining the campaign, The Fat Jewish follows in the footsteps of other spokespeople including Baddie Winkle, Jourdan Dunn and Pamela Anderson – and its the latter that has Josh feeling especially honoured to be part of the crew.
He said: ‘I’m honoured to be part of that kind of line-up. Pamela Anderson is a full icon, her face should be chiselled into Mount Rushmore. Straight up looks unbelievable, she doesn’t give a shit, she’s a bad bitch.
‘Anything she’s been involved with, I want to be involved with. She was responsible for some of my first erections, I worship her. Also, I’m honoured to be a man to be part of this. Let’s be realistic, women are probably smarter than men, so to just join the ranks of this, it’s a party I’m honoured to be at.’

There are just some things in life that really aren’t up for debate.
And if you thought that the round shape of the earth was one of life’s unquestionable facts, well, then you probably won’t enjoy watching the documentary Behind The Curve, which follows those conspiracy theorists who reckon that our world is flat.
The film, which has just arrived on Netflix UK, documents the, er, determined efforts of the Flat Earther movement as they try to a) explain their strange theory, and b) prove their strange theory – and it’s a subject matter which has naturally aroused plenty of curiosity from perplexed viewers.
So much so, in fact, that Netflix have been moved enough to make an official, company-wide stand on the ‘issue’. Well, sort of ‘official’, anyway.
Following the responses to Behind The Curve please see below for our official statement on the shape of the Earth. We cannot take questions at this time. pic.twitter.com/NbdekLgCrz
‘Shaming someone doesn’t change the way they feel about something,’ Clark reasoned. ‘In fact, it probably just reinforces it and they become more entrenched in their belief.
‘So approaching it from the angle of, “I see where you’re coming from, now here’s where I’m coming from,” is better.’
We’re not sure that the Netflix public at large will be quite as understanding as you though, Daniel – but you’ve got to appreciate the sentiment nonetheless.
Behind the Curve is available to watch on Netflix now.

Would could become our new Lestat and Louis? (Picture: Metro)
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt made the roles their own when they became Lestat and Louis in the 1994 movie, Interview With A Vampire.
Now, the Anne Rice books are having a new life breathed into them in the form of a TV series – so the battle is on for who could replace them.
While they have one hell of a job on their hands replacing the two heartthrobs (I mean, who wants to replace Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt?!) up-and-coming talent is rich with possibilities.
So let’s take a look at who we think could be our new leading men…
Louis:
Is Ben Barnes the best fit to take over from Brad Pitt? (Picture: Paul Archuleta/FilmMagic)
Ben Barnes
Older than the other potential choices, 38-year-old Ben has mastered that mystical ability of looking late 30s and young 20s at the same time.
Which would be pretty handy if he were to play a vampire no?
The actor has played the hero in Prince Caspian, the twisted Dorian Grey in a period adaptation, and most recently appeared in Punisher.
With that series being wrapped up, this could be his next major series, easily.
Robert Sheehan has a number of franchises under his belt, but could now be the lead (Picture: Roberto Ricciuti/Getty Images)
Robert Sheehan
With a penchant for trouble and a vulnerable side that melts the coldest hearts in all of his work, Robert Sheehan is a master of getting you to play along with things you know are bad.
Recently shooting into the public eye thanks to The Umbrella Academy, he’s proven that he is someone to seriously pay attention to.
Able to slip between the macabre, the sad and the funny is Sheehan’s forte – so surely the Vampire Chronicles series is just dying to have him on board?
Could Timothee make the move over to TV for this series? (Picture: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)
Timothee Chalamet
Timothee Chalamet is known mostly for his work in film – and is one of the most sought-after young actors in any Oscar-baity movie going.
After playing a lovestruck teen in Call Me By Your Name, a douchy bandboy in LadyBird and a struggling drug addict in Beautiful Boy, he’s not conquered any fantasy roles recently.
With so many A-List celebrities making the leap from movies to television, is Chalamet about to jump ship too?
Ezra is always down for the mystical and has the amazing closet to boot (Picture: Mike Marsland/Mike Marsland/WireImage)
Ezra Miller
Ezra Miller has had one foot in the magical and mysterious lately thanks to his roles in Fantastic Beasts and DC Universe.
But maybe, just maybe, if he’s done with playing good guy The Flash, he’s up for playing someone a little more mischievous.
And let’s face it, Louis is going to have one hell of a wardrobe, and if there’s anything to tempt Ezra, it’s a fashion statement.
Lestat:
Jamie Campbell Bower causes trouble more than ever (Picture: Gisela Schober/Getty Images for HUGO)
Jamie Campbell-Bower
Already one for the floppy blonde hair and the piercing stare, Jamie Campbell-Bower has even cut his teeth (sorry) in the vampire world by playing Volturi member Caius.
Officially signing up to one of the upcoming Game Of Thrones prequels in an as-yet unknown role, it’s pretty fair to say he’ll be in high demand.
So can he be tempted over to the dark side for the role of the leading man?
Cody Fern already has a touch of the devil about him thanks to AHS (Picture: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)
Cody Fern
As the current face of the Apocalypse in American Horror Story, Cody has the overpowering iciness and the jawline that could cut glass perfect for Lestat.
He could even borrow the wig he used in the Ryan Murphy series (if it’s allowed to).
But could he bring himself to leave the world of AHS behind and start afresh in the new reboot of the Vampire Chronicles?
Eamon could be an outside potential for the role (Picture: Getty)
Eamon Farren
A lesser-known name to add to this list, Australian star Eamon Farren has managed to carve himself a neat little niche in dark worlds.
First appearing as the abusive, no-good Richard Horne in the reboot of Twin Peaks in 2017, he also played murder suspect Cust in last year’s adaptation of The ABC Murders.
He’s currently signed up to appear in another fantasy epic, The Witcher, alongside Henry Cavill later this year, playing complicated Cahir.
Could his penchant for death glares land him this major role as well?

Mum Sarah was disgusted after watched rape-themed porn online (Picture: Channel 4)
A mum who left traumatised after seeing rape-based porn online has decided to take matters into her own hands.
Sarah, 40, was left feeling ‘like I was going to throw up’ after researching the graphic content available online that young people can access for free.
‘I just thought al of a sudden that I was going to throw up. We need to show kids that there’s something else than this horrible shit we see on the internet.
‘If my son treated a woman like that I would kick his arse to kingdom come.’
Meanwhile mum-of-six Sarah Louise was so disgusted by what she saw that she was physically sick, while another mum decides to quit the experiment as she is so horrified by what she sees.
Sarah-Louise was so disgusted she threw up (Picture: Channel 4)
Sarah continued: ‘Porn doesn’t represent normal women, the actors and actresses they use mislead kids. They need to realise it’s not normal.’
Sarah and Sarah Louise join three other mums for a three-part Channel 4 series Mums Make Porn.
Together they will produce their own 12-minute porn film that they feel gives a realistic portrayal of sex to their teenage children, as well as send a positive message about relationships.
Mums Jane, Sarah, Emma, Sarah-Louise and Anita will produce a 12-minute porn film to be screened to some of their children (Picture: Channel 4)
The mums will be involved in every stage of the process, including casting and writing, and worked with porn industry experts on the film.
In the third episode of the series, the mums’ porn film will be screened at a viewing party for their friends, family and some of their children. We’re not sure how that’s gonna go down with their kids…
Mums Make Porn airs 20 March on Channel 4

A recent update to both Google Maps and Apple Maps now shows the playground bearing the name ‘Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park’ – much to the delight of the rapper’s fans.
— The Mac Miller Memoir (@MacMillerMemoir) March 11, 2019
The name change hasn’t actually been made official, though – there’s been no comment or verification from the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, the city of Pittsburgh or indeed the Miller estate in regards to this amendment.
Miller passed away back in September (Picture: Getty Images)
While Mayor Peduto warned last year that there were ‘strict rules’ about renaming Pittsburgh parks, he did indicate to Miller’s fans that he would support a policy amendment which could potentially speed up the process.
Nevertheless, this unofficial name change has been a source of great gratification for the late rapper’s fanbase in their grand bid to memoralise the rapper in the city he loved so much.

In a video unearthed by a fan from 2016, the now-27-year-old shows the camera a cheque for £44 he received from the Beeb.
‘When I was younger, I was an extra in a period drama called Cranford,’ he explained. ‘They paid me this £44 but…after a long thought, I thought d’you know what? I’d rather keep the cheque, because I thought, “This is a cheque from the BBC, this is huge.”‘
This was in 2016, little did he know that in 3 years time he would have been in the final of strictly, won the strictly tour, resenting the nye countdown, presenting the one show and have a girlfriend who is a professional on strictly 😭❤️💜 @dbuzz6589@Joe_Suggpic.twitter.com/TGTmFRdVVA
He added: ‘So I kept it, and thought I’m not going to cash in the £44 that they tried to pay me, I’m going to keep the cheque because, for me, some things are worth more than money. And this is one of those things.’
‘Funny how things turn out ey!’ he tweeted after watching the video back, while girlfriend Dianne added: ‘This is so cute @Joe_Sugg you have the best heart x.’
Joe shared the sweet photo of himself donning a country boy look as a child, captioning it: ‘My school uniform was better than yours.. #villagelife #lacockwarrior.’
He definitely put the ‘thatcher’ in Thatcher Joe, as fans dubbed him ‘Cotton Eye Joe.’
Before appearing on the show, Joe weighed up the pros and cons – but one of the entries is pretty striking.
Mentioning the fateful list, he recalled: ‘I also put down: potential girlfriend. I might get a girlfriend out of it. Who knows! The pros massively outweighed the cons.’
We’ll just slowly back away.

I’m not really sure I understand why Google, Amazon, and Apple all seem to want to get into gaming just because of streaming. Unless the quality of the connection is noticeably better for one than the other what is going to differentiate them? The only obvious answer is games, but who is suddenly going to start making exclusive games for these three companies?
Are we going to have them all making exclusive deals for existing games and then random, well-known games are not going to be on all consoles? The only alternative I that they make new games themselves and considering how easily stuff seems to leak surely we would have heard about this by now?
I’m also not really sure why Microsoft and Sony wouldn’t just be able to do the streaming themselves? What are Google and whoever going to add to it? The only thing I can think is they’re going to be super cheap or even free (with advertising or microtransactions). That could change things up, although it still won’t change the games. Hagrid
Insider tip
Just to confirm what GameCentral was suggesting in the article this morning, about Google revealing their plans for gaming next Monday. Obviously I can’t reveal my sources but I know of an organisation which was recently asked to provide some sporting archive to Google, for a video presentation to be shown at the Game Developers Conference starting next week.
The project was titled Gather and the video will be ‘a love letter to gaming from Google, exploring the history of human play from early civilisation through current times’.
Sounds a lot like this is Google finally presenting their foray into the world of video games, whether that be through a new console or, more likely, some kind of streaming service. Not long till we find out! Anon
65 million years old
I’ve seen a couple of reports of the two N64 Turok games coming to the Nintendo Switch this month. Have GC heard anything about this?
I never played the first one but remember enjoying the second one quite a lot. After hearing about this I quite fancy playing Turok 2 again, it had some good weapons from what I remember. BADMAFiA72
GC: They’re coming out next week, in America at least. But if the PC remasters are anything to go by they have not aged well.
Just curious as to what others think of this suggestion. Currently, there are many social media websites out there such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. and many years back an application known as Trillian unified both Yahoo and MSN so it could be used with the same single app.
With there being many social media types available, would anyone welcome a single application that links your social media accounts via one single app which would then display all posts, video updates, etc. from each social media platform onto one single scrollable screen? Instead of having to use multiple platforms and apps? This could be done by an indie developer, which could be brought to next generation systems such as PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo and even current systems.
Perhaps an option could be added to upload video gameplay clips from your Xbox One onto platforms like YouTube not currently covered by the upload option on Xbox One. This is merely a suggestion I’m making and welcome others feedback. gaz be rotten (gamertag)
GC: A number of websites already exist that offer to do this, although things like Walls.io seem to be used more by companies than individuals.
Extra abilities
I’ve just completed Episode 2 of Life Is Strange 2, I enjoyed it but there were some noticeable bugs – more than normal as I have played all the Life is Strange 1 and Before The Storm episodes, and the special episode.
One of the characters was hovering in the air, which was not part of the story, and another character was walking in a circle on the spot. And in another scene one of the characters had problem navigating a room and was walking through part of the scenery!
Hopefully the next episode will be due soon. Andrew J.

Blades of Glory
RE: Carradus. I’m completely with you bro, man I miss those Xbox 360 blades. It annoys me that a software company can get it so wrong, especially when they got it so right with the blade system. After that high point they’ve got progressively worse.
The blades were simple, intuitive and quick – there was nothing to fix. Why couldn’t they just refine what they had, instead of going back to the drawing board each time? I’ve lost count of the number revisions the Xbox One has had with new features added, whilst not addressing the obvious.
I’m going to have to tweet Phil Spencer to bring back the blades of glory and stop effin about with that Windows 10 template. Anon
Regular irrigation
I really don’t understand the criticism of the Xbox One dashboard.
I find everything easy to access and mine certainly isn’t slow.
Any sluggish issues can be solved with two minutes of maintenance that’s easy to perform and no different than needing to clear the cache on the Xbox 360.
Just head to settings then Disc & Blu-ray and hit clear persistent storage three times (just like clearing the Xbox 360 cache.
Then navigate to advanced settings under network and clear Alternative Mac Address which restarts the Xbox and everything is buttery smooth again, at least at this end it is.
I know it could be argued that we shouldn’t have to do this but as consoles get more complex little gremlins do build up and this two minute fix helps every four months or so helps to keep things running smoothly. Satan’s Therapist
Couldn’t disagree more with the letter regarding the Xbox One dashboard.
In my two years of owning one I’ve never found using it to be anything other than intuitive and responsive. I even prefer it to any version of the dashboard that the Xbox 360 had.
My experience of it is that everything I need is rarely more than a few button taps away. For example, want to look at the Games with Gold selection then just press the RB button three times from the home screen and you’re there. Need to search for anything then just press ‘Y’ at any point for a search bar.
Under my Games & Apps (that’s where I usually am, everything is neatly justified to the left with all
my games listed A-Z via nice colourful tiles that I can adjust the size of (and neatly place into groups). At the top of my games I can choose between Installed and ready to install (I have 504 games in total between the two and finding any of those is extremely easy to do.
Also neatly justified to the left are apps, groups, updates, Game Pass, Gold, and EA Access titles available to me.
If I need any more detailed info a quick press of the menu button will let me see file size, manage game, and DLC etc. Along with options to add to home page and into groups.
I understand every criticism of the Xbox One in terms of how it launched and lack of exclusive content over its lifespan but as it sits now there’s nothing I’d change about the Xbox One dashboard that comes to mind right now. I completely fail to see how it’s unintuitive or difficult to use. Chaosphere616 (gamertag)

This week’s Hot Topic
The subject for this weekend’s Inbox was suggested by reader Ishi, who asks what is your favourite video game soundtrack of the current generation?
That means anything on the Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, 3DS, or PS Vita – or any new PC game from early 2011 onwards. You can recommend a single song or a whole soundtrack, but we want to know what you think has been the best video game music for the modern formats?
What do you think of current trends in video game music and do you think this generation has been better or worse, in general, for video game music? And do you own any recent soundtracks separately, either as downloads or on CD or vinyl?
The small print New Inbox updates appear twice daily, every weekday morning and afternoon. Readers’ letters are used on merit and may be edited for length.
You can also submit your own 500 to 600-word 4Player viewer features at any time, which if used will be shown in the next available weekend slot.

While explaining that he never intended to get arrested, the 25-year-old added: ‘I’m scared that I’m not going to have a future, that my kids won’t have a future.’
‘I think a lot of young people feel like they’ve run out of options to make their voice heard, and that’s why I took the action that I did.
‘It wasn’t necessarily my aim to get arrested, but here we are now talking about climate change, and if that’s what it takes to elevate the conversation to where it needs to be, then that’s something that I’m prepared to do.’
The star, who rose to fame on YouTube with his twin brother Finn, was arrested at the end of February, with activist Twitter account Extinction Rebellion sharing an image of the popular vlogger, appearing to be in handcuffs.
At the time of the arrest, Met Police told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘Police were called at approximately 08:15hrs on Wednesday, 27 February to reports of a protest at a hotel on Hamilton Place, W1.
‘Officers attended and discovered a number of people had glued themselves to windows.
Jack’s brother Finn updated fans about his release (Picture: finnharries)
‘Five people have been arrested on suspicion of offences including aggravated trespass and criminal damage. Officers remain at the location.’
Jack later updated fans, telling them: ‘This is the action I chose to take because, frankly, I am terrified for the state of my future and we have run out of time.’
The filmmaker went on to speak about the impact of climate change, adding: ‘Just 25 companies are responsible for 50% of carbon emissions. Forget changing your light bulbs and having shorter showers, these are the real climate criminals.
‘Climate change is the greatest social justice issue of our time. 99% of climate related deaths occur in the world’s least developed countries even though those countries contribute to just 1% of emissions.’
The YouTube community have also largely been supportive of the star, with Hank Green tweeting: ‘The part where JacksGap intentionally abandoned large-scale YouTube fame to become a hardcore climate change activist is a pretty good twist.’

Ashleigh Butler won the Crufts Agility Final with new pooch Sully (Picture: Dave Nelson)
Britain’s Got Talent star Ashleigh Butler has confessed that she cried after watching back her winning performance at Crufts 2019 this weekend.
The 23-year-old dog agility trainer, who scored a triumph with her new pooch Sully, took to Twitter after her triumph, writing: ‘Just cried watching Sullivan’s champ final win again,’ followed by a crying emoji, covering eyes emoji and a flurry of hearts.
Despite Ashleigh’s mammoth loss, she managed to scoop the highly-coveted gong at the championships, addressing her shock on Instagram.
Ashleigh said she cried after winning Crufts at the weekend (Picture: Twitter)
‘What has just happened,’ she wrote. ‘I am in shock.
‘Not only winning the singles on Friday for the third year running, winning the championships today for the second year running, but also winning all THREE rounds today!!!!!!!
‘I have so many thank yous but for now my biggest thank you goes to Sullivan for just being incredible.’

At the time of the event, Ashleigh admitted: ‘It was a very sad Crufts, as it was the first time I’d not competed with Pudsey for a long time, but the championship win was for him as well.
‘I definitely thought Pudsey was with us cheering Sully and me on.’
Pudsey was the first ever dog to win Britain’s Got Talent seven years ago, going on to become a star with his owner and even featuring in his own film in 2014 – with his voice provided none other than David Walliams.

Mitchell Joseph Thompson has benefitted from the documentary (Picture: Facebook)
If you thought perhaps the damning documentary on Michael Jackson accusers, Leaving Neverland, was going to hurt the business of the brand, you’ve got another thing coming.
Sorry to get all cliché on you, but if anything, business is booming for various members hitching their coach to the MJ empire.
One MJ impersonator has said he’s been ‘rushed off his feet’ with bookings ever since the HBO documentary aired earlier this year, with shocking child sex abuse allegations levelled against the performer.
New allegations have been raised against Michael Jackson by James Safechuck (Picture: HBO)
Birmingham-based performer Mitchell Thomspon, 38, stands by the late superstar ‘100 per cent’, but also admits he’s found a new fan base since the airing of the two-part special.
‘I’ve had quite a few bookings since the news of the documentary was made public – and they’ve come in since it aired as well,’ he said, detailing a theatre tour in June.
‘I had 13 new Michael Jackson costumes made the other day at a cost of £3,500 so I’m very pleased people are sticking by him. I’m actually busier than I was before.’
Business is booming for Mitchell Thompson (Picture: Facebook/Mitchell Joseph Thompson)
For full-time Jacko impersonator Jay Styles, he too has never seen the work coming in so thick and fast after starting to emulate the star 11 years ago.
While he said he doesn’t believe a word of the recent accusations, he added the new interest has meant he’s having to turn down work and ‘give it to other impersonators’.
‘My phone doesn’t stop ringing. I’m doing parties, private performances and corporate gigs and it’s every day. I think the publicity has led to a real surge in interest,’ the 35-year-old based in Cambridgeshire said this week.
‘I sing all his songs and do the dance moves as well. I think people’s interest has grown and the loyalties have become even stronger.’
The impersonators, however, believe the backlash to the allegations have forced loyal fans to ‘be more loyal’, which Mitchell claimed is already evident through the rise in boookings.
‘I’m confident that will stay the same. I think these disgusting allegations will actually make loyal fans more loyal,’ he said.
‘I’m an entertainer and people still want to be entertained by what Michael Jackson was about. His legacy will always continue.’

However, the experience ended up being a lot more brutal than any of us remembered, with the first round resulting in the contestants ‘throwing Linda under a train.’
#JusticeForLinda.
And then came the roasting.
‘I want to be in the media somewhere,’ the YouTube star told Anne when she asked about his career goals.
‘Where? At the bottom of the pile?’ she asked
‘I make films and post them on the internet,’ adorable past-Phil explained, before present-him pointed out: ‘YouTube wasn’t well known back then.’
And, when the conversation turned to the star’s hero, Quentin Tarantino, Anne savagely told him: ‘He doesn’t have a haircut like yours’.
The haircut was an interesting choice (Picture: BBC)
The sass didn’t even end with Phil, as the host then asked him: ‘Was it Linda’s maternity dress?’ after he voted her as the weakest link.
‘The maternity dress and the question wrong,’ he replied.
‘Which really?’ Anne asked, with Phil answering: ‘The dress.’
Linda deserved better.
The 32-year-old turned out to be pretty good at the questions, ending up in the final two – although Anne didn’t let him forget that he didn’t get a single question correct in one round.
However, he lost out at the last hurdle, and was told by Anne: ‘Phil, you leave with nothing.’
Bit gutting.
Nevertheless, with more than four million subscribers and a 10-year-long career on YouTube, plus selling out tour dates across the world, we reckon he hasn’t done too badly.

Mila Kunis is pretty in pink as she posed on the red carpet at the premiere of animation Wonder Park this week.
The star was all smiles on 10 March at the event held at Regency Bruin Theatre in Los Angeles as she made casual wear look glam.
The 35-year-old actress donned a pink and black outfit, as she was joined by her co-stars Brianna Denski and Ken Jeong along with his wife Tran and daughter Zooey.
Other stars at the premiere included Connie Britton, Constance Zimmer, Rachel Platten, Veep‘s Reid Scott and son Conrad, 7th Heaven‘s Beverley Mitchell and daughter Kenzie, YouTuber Colleen Ballinger, and America’s Got Talent’s Grace VanderWaal.

Mila was without her husband Ashton Kutcher, with whom she shares two children – daughter Wyatt, four, and son Dimitri, two.
Keeping things on the DL doesn’t mean their spark has been extinguished, though, and the couple, who have been married for three years, are still one of Hollywood’s cutest couples.
Mila and Ashton met as teenagers on That ’70s Show, on which they starred as high school sweethearts Jackie and Kelso.

Speaking on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, Mila said: ‘I did a movie called Friends With Benefits. He did a movie that was very similar called No Strings Attached. We lived our movies out.
‘We were just like, let’s just hook up. Let’s have fun. We’re both single. We both trust each other. Everything’s great.’
However, a spanner was thrown in the works – a spanner called the feels. Goddamn pesky feelings.
Mila continued: ‘I was like, you know what, I actually care about you. I don’t want to mess anything up so I’m just going to walk away before it becomes too much. And he was like, “Got it”.
‘And the next day, he showed up to my house and he was like, “Move in with me” and I said ok.’
And the rest is history. Ashton and Mila married in 2015 and have two children and are living happily ever after.
Wonder Park hits cinemas in the UK on 8 April.

Lily now knows better than to engage with the trolls
In order to avoid the relentless trolling and abuse a celebrity with millions of followers and opinions to share may receive, Lily Allen has given up Twitter.
Well, sort of.
The No Shame singer has admitted recent times have seen her forced to give her social media password to her team and delete the app on her phone, after previously revealing she spends five hours on the platform.
Now she’s going for the ‘out of sight, out of mind’ tactic.
‘I don’t do my Twitter any more. It’s run by other people, I’m not really putting myself in a position where I see too much of that stuff,’ she told Metro.co.uk in regards to facing trolling in 2019.
Lily cops a lot of flack online as she wades into online debates (Picture: Rex Features)
‘Whatever is posted on there has to be approved, I just don’t [post] it.
‘We have a WhatsApp group and if I want to say something out of the blue, they put it up for me.’
It’s a smart way to go about business. But although she’s amassed nearly six million followers on Twitter, sold a bajillion albums, singles, books, everything else, Lily, 33, admits it’s only been in recent times she’s been in a lofty-enough position to have someone else trawl through the comments on her behalf to shield her from the sh*t.
Had she faced a torrent of social media abuse 10 years ago? Well, that’s too bad.
‘If you’re young and running it yourself there is no way of avoiding the bad stuff,’ she continued. ‘I think that’s really concerning. It’s got worse as I get older.
‘I’m older and wiser, but if I was 19 again and having to see some of the things people write on there, I don’t know how I’d cope.
Lily and Piers had their own Twitter war (Picture: ITV/Rex)
‘It is an interesting time. Young musicians or people in creative industries, everything is based on how many followers you have and your interactions.’
Following the passing of The Prodigy’s Keith Flint last week, Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten suggested the late singer was ‘alone and unloved’ due to his fame.
It’s a swift kick in the feels for anyone who may think fame is this brilliant rainbow of love and money and everybody thinking you’re just, like, so awesome.
Lily herself knows about that bubble, after she flew to the top of the charts and achieved massive worldwide fame and fortune following the release of Alright, Still in 2006.
While the star didn’t have a relationship with Keith herself, she can absolutely relate to the isolation he may have been feeling due to his job.
‘At the time when things were mad for me in that realm, [the loneliness] was physical as well,’ she said. ‘I’d be followed around by 30 men every day with long-lens cameras – but it still felt quite isolating because you’re not enjoying it and people around you are encouraging it. That’s not very nice.
‘[Then] something ends up in the newspaper and you don’t know how it got there – that makes you question all your relationships and friendships, which is lonely.’
Lily has collaborated with Rankin again on their Henry Holland X Vype campaign (Picture: Supplied)
The singer has teamed up with Henry Holland and Vype for their new ePen 3, in a classy AF shoot shot by famed photographer Rankin.
Toward the end of last year she insisted to fans she was going to quit smoking in an attempt to kick the entrenched habit. To her, it made sense to take the opportunity and work with her friend Henry – who she said had benefited from quitting cigarettes by going electronic.
However, back in 2014, she was slammed for advertising e-cigarettes in her Hard Out Here filmclip.
When she’s already facing trolls on a day to day basis (well, was facing them, as above), is she afraid the brigade might come for her again?
‘There are more important things to worry about than people getting upset about being in this campaign,’ she said in her classic unfazed tone; constantly cool as a cucumber.
The ‘important things’ Lily may be referring to is her campaigning and advocating for LGBT causes, rights for minorities, gun crime – and she’s faced some stiff pushback online in the past (goes with the theme, doesn’t it?).
One of her most notorious arguments online came from Good Morning Britain’s Piers; the two sharing a history of trading venomous barbs in the public realm.
And that doesn’t seem like it’s going to change any time soon.
The singer slammed the presenter back in early 2018 and he returned fire after the two came to blows about gun crime in London.
Piers then announced he refused to interview the singer until she became a ‘hit’ after the mother-of-two released a video revealing she’d been cut from the programme.
While the heat seems to have died down between the two recently IE there are no outrageously public scuffles on Twitter right now, she still wonders if there will ever be a time for her to appear on GMB and debate in a way that isn’t seen a ‘humiliating’ or a joke on her.
‘Never say never, but …some people think it’s quite funny, the Piers Morgan attitude – “he says it how it is”. It’s not, it’s rubbish,’ she said. ‘I’m past the point of wanting to go on there and speak with him in a jokey way…on a massive platform and have him try to humiliate me.
‘There are vulnerable people that suffer as a consequence of the things he says so flippantly. I wouldn’t want it to be jokey; I would have to approach it from a different angle and I don’t know I’m up for that.’
Lily Allen is the face of Vype’s new House of Holland collaboration in partnership with Rankin, celebrating the ePen 3 range.

Katie, 40, and Kris, 30, were spotted getting some cash out of an ATM, before reclining and chilling in some cosy-looking armchairs to enjoy a bit of pampering among the locals.

In the snaps, the star can be seen looking completely zen with her eyes closed as Kris lies next to her.
We feel more relaxed just looking at them!
In another shot, she prepared her feet for a pampering as she sat near a sink that appeared to be used for pedicures, rolling up her trousers.

An insider told The Sun that it wasn’t the first time Harvey has stayed with Lou, who has children of her own.
The source said: ‘Harvey loves it there. He still hasn’t been placed into residential care so he’s at school everyday and then back to Lou’s in the afternoon.’
She looked completely zen (Picture: RYMI, DIVA, BACKGRID)
The drama comes after Katie revealed that she was considering moving Harvey into a residential care, as he has become a ‘danger to himself’.
The 16-year-old is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome, and has been acting out at home because he wants to spend more time with his mum.
Katie was reported to police by her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s girlfriend Michelle Pentecost, who alleges that the reality star shouted at her: ‘Are you enjoying fucking my husband?’ in the school playground.
The charge sheet for Katie’s court appearance accuses her of using ‘threatening or abusive words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress’.
Katie is due before West Sussex Magistrates on Wednesday.

Westpac Banking’s latest advert is making us all cry (Picture: Westpac Banking)
Westpac Banking has just dropped the most emotional advert ever to grace the planet – and we’re still tearing up.
The Australian bank went live with their latest promotion on Sunday during an episode of Married At First Sight and has been filed under the title ‘If you’re separating, we’re here to help.’ Welp.
Set to Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide, the minute-and-a-half video begins with a young boy living with his mum.
He decorates their lounge with fairy lights and comes to the rescue when a humongous spider invades their home, but everything shifts when he sees her panicking over her accounts.
As the ad continues, the kid’s dad arrives at the house to come and pick him up, leaving his mum all alone in their house, before a strap-line pops up that explains the couple are going through a financially messy divorce.
‘If you’re separating, there’s help. We can ease the financial uncertainty,’ it read.
Having received 4,931 views on YouTube, the feature, which was directed by Garth Davis, has unsurprisingly been a making people cry worldwide – with some even calling it ‘the most brilliant amazing touching TV ad ever.’
‘Seriously, the Westpac ad kills me #allthetears,’ wrote one viewer with many others echoing the same sentiment.

Some people have kicked off at the advert though, suggesting that it’s a ‘new low’ for the bank.
Westpac have hit back though, telling one complainant: ‘We talked to over 1000 people across Australia to understand their needs at this life moment and we created the guide and tools with a divorce expert.
‘We find that over 30,0000 of our customers each year are impacted by separation, and we see first-hand how that can impact them. Negotiating the financial side of separation can be complex, and we want our customers to know that we are here to help.’

Will Rami Malek make a return? (Picture: REX/Shutterstock)
If you didn’t get enough Bohemian Rhapsody the first time around, rejoice because we may be getting another hit of the tale.
Talks are apparently happening surrounding a sequel to the award-winning biopic of Freddie Mercury, with claims springing up the story will pick up at Live Aid where the first flick left off.
While we all know what happened in real life when it comes to Queen and Freddie, the amazing response to the film is sure to stir up a lot of feels with fans should another film land in our laps.
And, let’s be honest, there is more than enough music to satisfy a few more films.
According to Page Six, director of a bunch of Queen’s music videos, Rudi Dolezal, claims the band members and management are eyeing up the next movie.
The end might be only the beginning (Picture: Rex Features)
Speaking about the group’s legendary manager Jim Beach, Rudi said: ‘I’m sure he plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid.’
He then added the film is ‘being heavily discussed in the Queen family’, which may involve Brian May and Roger Taylor, who were involved with the first film starring Rami Malek.
Bohemian Rhapsody, produced by Jim, made $870 million (£662 million) worldwide and the cherry on the cake was its four Oscar wins last month.
If you cast your mind back to its release last year, the film culminates in the stirring performance by Queen at the 1985 Live Aid gig at Wembley.
We’ll give you a moment to let that sink in for posterity’s sake.
After that gig, in real life, Rudi began working with the group and ended up putting together 30 videos for the legendary four-piece, including These Are the Days of Our Lives which was released in 1991, the year Freddie died.
While guitarist Brian – who still tours with Queen with Adam Lambert taking over the vocals of Freddie – previously rode the middle ground on whether we’d see another flick, saying: ‘I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it. Who knows, there might be a sequel.’
It’s been suggested by the publication Rami’s team isn’t across any sort of sequel chatter just yet, but we guess we better watch this space.

Halle Berry and Brian Ortega are teaming up together (Picture: Getty)
Halle Berry has hired one of the best MMA fighters in the world – UFC Featherweight Brian ‘T-City’ Ortega – to help her train for an upcoming role.
Talk about dedication to the craft.
The 52-year-old joined teams with the 28-year-old fighter, who she called a ‘man crush’, when the pair sat together in the front row at UFC 232 in California back in December.
Now she’s added a little more to their professional relationship, posting a picture of herself with the athlete as she wrote: ‘All about this #ManCrushMonday, @briantcity – the #1 @UFC ranked featherweight !
‘So grateful he said yes to training with me in preparation for #BruisedTheMovie, and cannot wait to share what we cook up together.’
This is all for Halle’s newest film Bruised, which she stars in and directs, centered around a female MMA fighter who juggles life in the cage with being a mum.
It seems as if the Oscar-winner is in good hands as Ortega is the current #2 ranked UFC featherweight and is considered one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the organisation.
He told TMZ on Monday: ‘My main goal is to get her jiu-jitsu looking dope as fuck. Like in her movie just choking out whatever girl. We’re going to see some cool ass things in there and get her training. We’re going to drill her hard, yeah.’
This comes a week after Halle showed off a massive back tattoo while cooking topless in the kitchen.
With her back facing the camera, Halle is able to show off her large tattoo – a vine stretching from her neck to the bottom of her spine with leaves on either side.
The actress captioned the snap: ‘Who says I’m not a mermaid.’
Halle’s Instagram followers were left in awe at her work of art while also questioning whether it’s a real tattoo.
The Oscar-winner’s work schedule will be picking in the coming months as she promotes John Wick 3: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which is out in May, while she’s also set to start filming Bruised.

The superhero flick is smashing records at the box office (Picture: REX/Disney)
Captain Marvel may have smashed records at the box office, earning $455 million (£346 million) and scoring the biggest ever opening for a female-led film, but it definitely hasn’t had the smoothest journey to get there.
Even superheroes can’t escape the patriarchy, y’all.
‘About a year ago, I started paying attention to what my press days looked like and the critics reviewing movies, and noticed it appeared to be overwhelmingly white male,’ she explained.
It’s Marvel’s first female-led superhero film (Picture: Gareth Cattermole/Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images for Disney)
‘So, I spoke to Dr Stacy Smith at the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, who put together a study to confirm that. Moving forward, I decided to make sure my press days were more inclusive.
‘After speaking with you, the film critic Valerie Complex and a few other women of colour, it sounded like across the board they weren’t getting the same opportunities as others. When I talked to the facilities that weren’t providing it, they all had different excuses,’ she added to Marie Claire.
However, her comments were largely misinterpreted, with some claiming that she was promoting ‘man-hating’.
Seems like a stretch, to say the least.
This logic led to the film being flooded with negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes before it was even released, forcing the site to have to adjust its system to deal with the ‘uptick in non-constructive input, sometimes bordering on trolling.’
With Marvel’s first female-led superhero flick still not having hit cinemas, its reviews plummeted from 96% to 54%.
And Rotten Tomatoes wasn’t the only site forced to switch up its system, as it was recently revealed that YouTube’s algorithm had to be changed to filter out the sheer amount of trolling videos.
With trolls doing what they do best and cluttering up the site, YouTube changed Brie Larson’s name to appear as a news search term, ensuring that only trust-worthy sources appeared when you search for the film.
Many have noticed that the film is largely being compared to the 2017 movie Wonder Woman, with the two superheroes being pitted against each other.
‘Marvel fangirls are trying to say Captain Marvel was good lmfao. Don’t force it. It was nowhere near Wonder Woman, the best female superhero movie,’ one viewer said.
Another argued: ‘#CaptainMarvel was so fun to watch. But if we compare her to #WonderWoman, well… she’s no Wonder Woman. In fact the Carol Denvers character could be a man and we would’ve been fine with it (sic).’
It’s all very facepalm-worthy.
Nevertheless, despite the hurdles it’s encountered along the way and, at some points looking like it was set up to fail, the movie has received shining reviews and smashed records.
And, with Captain Marvel looking set to save the day in Avengers: Infinity War, it appears she’s just getting started.
