Lisa Armstrong is said to be pitching a new TV show idea that is inspired by her split from ex-husband Ant McPartlin.

Lisa’s marriage to Ant ended last year in the wake of his drink driving arrest, and she is moving forward with her life and career.

The 42-year-old is said to be working on The Strong Girl’s Club (working title) which will help women get back on their feet after a break-up.

A source told heat magazine: ‘Lisa’s been pursuing lots of TV projects, but she’s most excited about something she’s pitched herself.

‘It’s a reality show that will see her work with female celebrities, teaching other women how to empower themselves after a break-up.

‘It has a working title of The Strong Girl’s Club, and Lisa has already started putting feelers out to female celebrities that she knows who have been through break-ups, people like Kerry Katona and Megan Barton-Hanson.

‘It’s all very positive and not about trashing your ex – just about moving forward in life.’

The news comes after Lisa landed a new job as a make-up artist on Towie after working on Britain’s Got Talent for 12 years.

She was axed from BGT following Ant’s return to the show.

Since then she has been striking out on other ventures, including a collaboration with Avon UK, and a new dating show called The Updaters, which will see her sprucing up dating contestants ahead of their dates.

Meanwhile Ant is busy filming auditions for the new series of Britain’s Got Talent, which is set to return in April.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Lisa’s rep for comment

Katheryn Winnick might be even more of a superwoman IRL than in Vikings, if that’s possible

Katheryn Winnick is every inch a superhero IRL as she is on Vikings (Picture: Instagram)

Katheryn Winnick is just as much of a badass off camera as she is when she’s slaying as Queen Lagertha.

Turns out the 41-year-old is every inch of her historical heroine, as she shared a picture of herself kicking butt at the gym and, honestly, we bow down.

And you can do it too, according to Katheryn, who wrote ‘no excuses’ alongside a fist pumping emoji – serious talk right there.

But the Canadian-born actress really is a superhero, and here’s the proof: she’s been giving her female Vikings co-stars self-defence crash courses just because. What a woman.

Chatting to Entertainment Tonight, Katheryn, who started taekwondo aged 16, spoke about her on behind the scenes sessions and how she runs the WIN KAI Martial Arts Schools in Toronto with her brother Adam.

‘I have a strong need to teach women self-defence,’ the star told the publication. ‘I want to give women all the tools they need, based on knowledge, to get out of situations.’

Lagertha may be one of the greatest wonder women on the box, but Katheryn passionately pleaded with creator Michael Hirst to make sure her character’s strength broke through while she was a victim of domestic abuse.

‘A lot of relationships of domestic abuse, especially now with the #MeToo movement, you see a lot of it coming forward. These women are strong,’ she said.

‘They’re just put in a situation where it’s unfortunately based on power, and that’s usually what any kind of sexual or physical abuse is. It’s really a domination of power, and for [Lagertha], she always does come out stronger at the end.’

She added: ‘I think a lot of girls and women around the world can relate to being in a situation where their voices are not as strong, but hopefully they will have the courage and the confidence to be able to get out of the situation, and become even stronger, just as Lagertha did.’

Vikings is expected to return for its sixth and final season later this year.

Love Island’s Katie Salmon was slapped with a lifetime ban from Cheltenham after she flashed at the races in 2016.

But either she has successfully appealed the ban, or she just forgot about it, as Katie is back at the races.

The 23-year-old has returned to Cheltenham and if she was planning on keeping a low profile, she made a misstep, as she was dressed head to toe in neon orange.

Katie – who appeared on series two of Love Island in 2016 – wore a bright orange crop top that revealed underboob, in what must have been a bit of a two finger salute to the rulebook that got her banned in the first place.

The top was teamed with a ruffled mini-skirt and matching leather angle boots, with Katie whacking on a pair of aviator shades despite the grim weather.

Katie told her Instagram followers ‘am backkkkk’, while she took a picture from a dining room, apparently inside the Cheltenham grounds, for her story.

This comes just three years after Katie and Love Island series one winner Jessica Hayes were banned from Cheltenham after flashing their breasts from the VIP box.

A letter sent to the girls cited their behaviour as ‘unacceptable, offensive and detrimental to the good reputation of the sport’ and gave them both a lifetime ban.

The British Horseracing Authority added: ‘It is appropriate for the protection of racing that a strong message is sent that anti-social behaviour of this kind at racecourses will be firmly dealt with.’

However, it was said that Katie and Jessica could appeal the ban after three years, so perhaps it has been lifted after all.

Katie wasn’t the only reality star at the races, as Love Island 2017 star Chris Hughes was seen soaking up the atmosphere (and let’s face it, the rain from Storm Gareth).

Chris is a known fan of horse racing and is often pictured at the races – so we didn’t expect him to miss the biggest festival in the racing calendar.

Also pictured arriving for a flutter were Carol Vorderman, who looked chic in a dark green pencil dress and a fur-collared cream jacket, and I’m a Celeb’s Nick Knowles got all suited and booted in a corduroy suit under a tweed jacket.

Cheltenham wraps up on Friday 15 March, which is Gold Cup Day.

Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin indicted in investigation into college admissions bribes

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are just two of the high profile names accused of paying bribes to influence admissions into elite US colleges.

Up to 40 influential figures have been charged in connection with payments of up to $6million used to get children into schools including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and USC.

Desperate Housewives star Felicity is reportedly in custody on conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, TMZ claims.

Huffman has reportedly been arrested over the scam (Photo by Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic)

She and her husband William H. Macy made a purported charitable donation of $15,000 (£11k) that authorities believe helped their eldest daughter to get into college.

While Huffman has been arrested, Macy has not been indicted, the website reports.

According to ABC 11 Eyewitness News, recorded phone calls have been used as evidence to suggest it was put towards an admissions scheme.

However, it’s been suggested that Huffman decided against plans to pursue the same arrangement for her second daughter.

Loughlin has also been named in the investigation (Photo by Phillip Faraone/WireImage)

Meanwhile, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 to get their two daughters onto the USC crew team.

Reports suggest that even though they did not participate, it ‘facilitated their admission to USC’.

The scam centres around a Californian man running a business helping students to get into their chosen college by paying off exam administrators or sports coaches.

In most cases, students reportedly had no knowledge of the scam or their parents’ involvement.

Representatives for Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin have been contacted by Metro.co.uk for comment.

American Gods season 2 already has a massive plot hole and it’s only one episode in

American Gods returned this week to our screens (Picture: Amazon/Starz)

American Gods is officially back on our screens – and boy do we have some questions. Especially considering that there’s a plot hole already perfectly annoyingly in place.

With the absence of Easter looming over the series (thanks to the swift exit of Kristen Chenoweth in between seasons one and two), it’s clear that the troubles behind the scenes had spilled out onto the cameras, whether they wanted to or not.

And now there’s a massive question mark hanging over our heads asking, “where the hell is our beloved little bunny?”

The complicated world already has a loop hole in its midst (Picture: Amazon/Starz)

Mr Wednesday is largely blamed for the character’s absence, with allusions that he might have killed her and her rabbit followers off in an incident involving the road.

‘You are persona non grata in the rabbit community…and I think you know why,’ Mr Nancy tells him.

But here’s the thing – they were buds in the first season, and supported each other in the rise of the New Age Gods, so why would he kill her off? The mind boggles.

Season 2 has started to a mixed reception (Picture: Amazon/Starz)

But that’s basically the closest thing to an explanation we can get to, and it’s just going to cause more mayhem in the long run, unless they decide to ignore it all together which is just a bit of a bum deal to do.

Season two hasn’t got off to the strongest of starts by anyone’s standards, and the nature loving character of all things green and good is still up in the air – but it doesn’t look like Kristin’s coming back at any point soon.

It also steps away from book canon, as she helps Shadow in his time of need as the novel reaches its climax (no spoilers).

Is this a sign of things to come in this twisted universe?

American Gods continues Mondays on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

The Division 2 is releasing this week, but when? (Picture: Ubisoft)

The Division 2 is set to become one of the biggest game releases of the year, but Ubisoft haven’t exactly made navigating the launch an easy task.

The highly-anticipated sequel takes place in Washington D.C. seven months after the 2016 original, where players can cooperate or compete against each other amidst a civil war instigated by a virus outbreak.

Blending tactical multiplayer shooter and action role-playing mechanics, it’s hoping to be the game to topple Destiny’s crown once it releases to everyone on 15 March. But how can you access the game early? And what edition should you buy? Here’s the lowdown.

When does early access start?

While The Division 2 officially launches on 15 March worldwide, the game releases at different times depending on the edition you pre-order. If you pre-order the standard edition of The Division 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One you’ll have to wait until Friday, 15 March 12am local time to play – with Australia and New Zealand therefore getting access to the game first.

The times are slightly different if you go through Uplay on PC for the standard edition, which have been broken down below.

The Division 2 Standard Edition start times

Xbox One and PlayStation 4

15 March at 12am local time

Uplay/PC

14 March at 10pm PT

14 March at 11pm GMT

14 March at 12am AET

15 March at 1am ET

If you pre-order the Gold or Ultimate editions of The Division 2, you’ll be able to access the game earlier. Around the world you’ll be able to play these two editions on Tuesday, 12 March at 12am local time for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, whereas Uplay plays by its own rules.

The Division 2 Gold and Ultimate Edition start times

Xbox One and PlayStation 4

12 March at 12am local time

Uplay/PC

11 March at 10pm PT

11 March at 11pm GMT

12 March at 12am AET

12 March at 12am ET

What else is in the Ultimate, Gold, Dark Zone, and Phoenix Shield editions?

The Division 2’s gold edition comes with the game itself, three-day early access to the game, and the Year One season pass for downloadable content. The Year One pass also enables you one-week early access to upcoming story DLC, exclusive customisation items, and more.

The Division 2 Gold Edition costs £83.99 from Ubisoft’s store.

The Division 2 Ultimate Edition (Picture: Ubisoft)

The ultimate edition comes with the game, three-day early access, the Year One season pass, plus a bunch of digital extras. These include the Elite Agent Pack, Battleworn Secret Service Pack, and First Responder Pack, which feature new outfits, emotes, weapon skins, skill effects, and additional stash space.

The Division 2 Ultimate Edition costs £91.99 from Ubisoft’s store.

The Division 2 Dark Zone edition (Picture: Ubisoft)

The Dark Zone edition includes everything in the Ultimate edition along with a 30cm-high figurine of Heather Ward, the game’s soundtrack, a book of lithographs, and a Washington D.C. map packed inside a special box.

The Division 2 Dark Zone Edition costs £99.99 from Ubisoft’s store.

The Division 2 Phoenix Shield edition (Picture: Ubisoft)

If you really want to splash the cash, there’s always the Phoenix Shield Edition – packing everything in the Ultimate Edition, along with a figurine of Brian Johnson, a steelbook metal case, lithographs, the game’s soundtrack, and the Washington D.C. map.

The Division 2 Phoenix Shield Edition costs £214.99 from Ubisoft’s store.

What’s in the Year One season pass?

The Division 2’s Year One pass will grant you access to a bunch of new content as it arrives. These include three large episodes which expand the story, three specialisations which release alongside these episodes, and eight classified assignments which provide more backstory to your arrival in Washington D.C.

The first two episodes of narrative content are set to revolve around the D.C. outskirts and The Pentagon, with the third episode yet to be announced. The season pass also includes exclusive cosmetic items, and additional bounty and project missions.

Wait, isn’t the pass available for free?

You are correct. Ubisoft are giving the first year of content free to all players whether you buy the season pass or not. If you purchase the Year One Pass, you’re essentially buying seven day early access to all the content drops, along with extra activities and customisation options.

If you don’t purchase the Year One Pass, however, you’ll still be able to play all the new major narrative episodes.

How do I buy the Year One Pass?

At the moment, there’s no way to purchase The Division 2’s Year One Pass separately. It’s only available if you buy the Gold Edition or Ultimate Editions.

The Year One pass, however, will be made available separately when the game launches.

Rick and Morty season 4 details have remained firmly under wraps (Picture: Netflix)

Star Wars Resistance actor Josh Brener failed to land a part in the upcoming fourth season of Rick and Morty.

The 34-year-old confessed that he auditioned for the role of a high school character in the Adult Swim series, but was never told by bosses if he’d been successful or not.

Speaking to Inverse, Josh revealed: ‘I did audition for a role on the new season of Rick and Morty.

‘But I don’t think I got it because I never heard back.’

The star, who has had roles in the likes of Glee, The Big Bang Theory and The Middle, also teased the part he tried out for, telling the publication: ‘It was for a high school kid… is the most I’ll say.’

Details for the upcoming installment have been kept firmly underwraps, with the release date still unconfirmed.

Executive Ryan Ridley has teased that new episodes are likely drop towards the end of 2019 at the earliest, telling The Detroit Cast last year: ‘I know how long this show takes to write, let alone animate.

‘I’d be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air anytime sooner than 2019… late 2019.’

Despite details being up in the air, the voice behind Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, basically confirmed an Interdimensional Cable episode a few weeks ago in an Instagram post and we are buzzing.

Rick and Morty is still just about available to stream on Netflix but will be moving to its new home on Channel 4 soon.

Billie Faiers and Greg Shepherd had a fairytale wedding last week in the Maldives and clearly, no expense was spared -judging by their extravagant honeymoon suite.

After calling their nuptials ‘the best day’ of her life and finally unveiling her wedding dress, Billie and her new husband have given fans a closer looking into their stunning villa.

It must be been one heck of wedding as their accommodation even comes with its very own water slide and personal massage room.

In a bid to make other honeymoons look basic, the pair had two pools to choose from – not including the whirlpool bath and shower.

And in case they wanted some alone time from their two kids, the couple could enjoy a glass of wine from a cushioned seating overlooking the sea,

Talk about views.

Speaking of pretty sights, the sunset could be enjoyed from the balcony which is also a pathway to a water slide.

Are you jealous yet?

You’d think the lovebirds grew some gills as that is not the last water-based activity for them –  they also left their luxury hotel to take a dip in the ocean with scuba diving.

The former Towie star tied the knot with the love of her life in a beautiful island ceremony in the Maldives.

Making their vows in the island of Kuramathi, the newlyweds were joined by nearly 100 family and friends as Ferne McCann surprised them with a performance of Stand By Me at their reception.

Speaking to OK! magazine, the mum-of-two said: ‘Other than the days that Nelly and Arthur were born, it was the best day of my life.

‘It was like a fairytale – all the stress and tears were worth it.

‘It’s so lovely for me to finally be a Shepherd and share a surname with my children. Marriage ties our little family together completely.’

Billie, who confirmed her marriage on an Instagram post last week, was taken aback by the ‘lovely surprise’ as her BFF Ferne grabbed the mic to performed with her ‘brilliant voice’.

Billie debuted her wedding dress on the cover of OK!, showing off her fishtail lace crystal embellished gown designed by Berta – and of course, Greg loved it.

The groom said: ‘She looked incredible in her dress.’

Billie explained why she opted for a style far more adventurous than the typical wedding dress.

‘As soon as I tried it on I had “the feeling”’, she said. ‘When you know you know! Because we didn’t get married in a church I could get away with something more daring.’

On the reports of a ‘loud of and rowdy wedding party’, Billie dismissed them completely, as she added: ‘The hotel manager hasn’t had any complaints about our party.

‘I was half expecting some loudness as there are 95 of us out here celebrating [but] we have always been very respectful of the island and the other guests holidaying here’.

Billie’s four-year-old daughter Nelly acted as flower girl for the ceremony, her two-year-old son Arthur and her three-year-old nephew Paul took on the role of pageboys, while sister Sam Faiers was Maid Of Honour.

Emily Atack and Lorraine Kelly arrived in their finest attire for the star-studded TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House.

The award show saw the brightest stars in television and radio arrive at the London venue on Tuesday to celebrate the industry and the club’s 50th anniversary.

Lorraine was far from her usual habitat – you know, the ITV studios every morning – as she stepped onto the red carpet with some smokey eyeshadow and an amazing suit.

The Scottish TV presenter had all eyes on her with this youthful and stylish number – so much so that we are all taking notes.

Former Inbetweeners actor Emily joined the TV lot unafraid to do some colour-blocking in a lilac top and candy-striped skirt.

The I’m A Celeb star was joined by fellow reality TV star Amber Davies, who stayed clear from the rainbow look in a black tuxedo dress and a simple pair of orange heels.

Love Island’s Olivia Attwood was also in attendance and wore a blue shorts suit with a Ride With Me T-shirt.

We are seeing a trend here with pastel suits, but The Saturday’s Frankie decided to ignore the memo, with a bright orange to make sure she stood out.

Other famous faces at the awards today included Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, Ola Jordan, Katie Piper, Anne Hegerty, Vick Hope and Vicky Pattison.

The stars at the ceremony will all be hoping to grab one of the coveted TRIC Awards.

There are nominations for Love Island, I’m A Celeb and Strictly Come Dancing, which will all compete for the best reality programme price.

The best soap price will be fought out by the big four – EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

The TV personality award will be contested by Ant and Dec, who will go up against Holly Willoughby and Keith Lemon.

Elsewhere all eyes will be on the Best Drama award as Our Girl, Call The Midwife and A Very English Scandal battle it out.

Michael Jackson caught ‘buying rings’ with child after claims he held mock wedding with alleged victim

Michael Jackson is said to have been caught on CCTV shopping for wedding rings with a child while all done up in a strange disguise.

New footage from 1989 has emerged online, which appears to show the singer browsing stalls in a jewellery shop with a little boy.

In the clip, which is seemingly a news report from the time, the journalist talks about Michael Jackson being caught in a ‘shady disguise.’

Chatting about the moment the Smooth Criminal hitmaker was reportedly found in the store, a security guard said: ‘It was about as cheap as you could get,’ as he described the popstar’s stuck on moustache.

He added: ‘Of course he had the wig on and a cheap hat. The disguise worked – he’d be the last person that we’d consider as Michael Jackson.’

Another security guard claimed: ‘I asked, “Why are you in disguise?” and he said: “I am Michael Jackson.”

‘I was like “yeah, yeah, yeah you’re Michael Jackson.”

The man went on to allege: ‘He said: “Really I am, see I have false teeth,” so he pulls his teeth out, and then he said, “and I have a wig on.”

‘And he pulled his hair up, and I saw his natural hair – and I knew then that that was him. That was the Michael Jackson.’

Shooting back to the studio, the news reporter added: ‘Michael said he was shopping for a wedding ring. He says he plans to marry Sheryl Crow – one of his backup singers.’

The footage comes after Channel 4 aired the Michael Jackson Leaving Neverland documentary where James Safechuck and Wade Robson accused the star of child sexual abuse.

GRABS from HBO Documentary: Leaving Neverland ?We had a wedding ceremony in his bedroom?: Michael Jackson accuser ?reveals he married the singer when he was 10, and shows diamond and Rolex rings the King of Pop gave him after he raped the boy? Michael Jackson married one of the boys he is accused of raping in a ceremony held in the King of Pop?s bedroom, according to the new HBO documentary Leaving Neverland. James Safechuck says that he was just 10 when he and Jackson, then 30, held a mock ceremony, while also showing off some of the pricey jewelry he received from the singer. ?I was really into jewelry at that time and he would reward me with jewelry for doing sexual acts to him,? explains Safechuck. ?He would say that I need to sell him some so I could earn the gift.? Leaving Neverland premieres Sunday at 9pm on HBO. At this time, Safechuck had known Jackson for a year after meeting in 1987 on the set of a Pepsi commercial. The abuse had begun a few months later, and as Safechuck explains he was still drawn to the singer because of the mental and emotional manipulation. He also admits that he still feels a great sense of guilt for putting Jackson. ?We were just like fully in love at that time. When I wasn?t with him I was thinking of him,? said Safechuck. ?It just feels like the greatest thing when he calls. He?d come over and we?d spend the day shopping or hang out, or he?d come over and he?d spend the night. Or we?d go to the Hideout in Westwood and spend a few nights there.? The Hideout was Jackson?s apartment in Los Angeles where he would stay when recording or doing press, since the Neverland Ranch he had purchased one year prior was a three-hour drive from the city. Safechuck says that Jackson then took things one step further with a bizarre request. ?So we were like this married couple. I say married because we had this mock wedding ceremony,? claims Safechuck. ?We did this in his bedroom and we filled out some vows like we would be bonded forever. It felt good. And the ring is nice. It has a row of diamonds. The wedding ring.? Safechuck then holds up the ring, with his fingers shaking, and shows how it barely fits on his adult finger. ?It?s hard to go back to that moment,? sauced Safechuck. ?You know, I like jewelry and I liked it as a kid so I think something that I liked was used against me. It causes discomfort. It is still hard for me not to name myself.? Safechuck then continues to pull out expensive pieces from a small jewelry box, his fingers shaking more and more. ?This piece of jewelry is like a roller ring with a diamond in the middle. My hands are shaking just thinking about them,? says Safechuck. ?We would go buy them at jewelry stores and we would pretend they were for someone else. Like for a female but he would pretend like my small hand would fit for whatever female we were buying it for.? He then adds: ?Yeah I don?t like looking at the jewelry.?

During the two part documentary, Safechuck claimed that Michael had held a fake wedding ceremony with the youngster.

Showing off the rings he claims the singer bought him, James said: ‘So we were like this married couple.

‘I say married because we had this mock wedding ceremony. We did this in his bedroom and we filled out some vows like we would be bonded forever.’

He added: ‘It felt good. And the ring is nice. It has a row of diamonds. The wedding ring.’

Screenshots of the HBO documentary "Leaving Neverland," picturing Michael Jackson and Jimmy Safechuck, as the first part airs on March 3, 2019. When allegations of sexual abuse by Michael Jackson involving young boys surfaced in 1993, many found it hard to believe that he could be guilty of such unspeakable acts. Filmmaker Dan Reed?s two-part documentary film Leaving Neverland explores the separate but parallel experiences of two young boys, James ?Jimmy? Safechuck, at age 10, and Wade Robson, at age 7, who were both befriended by the star. They and their families were invited into his singular and wondrous world, entranced by the singer?s fairy-tale existence as his career reached its peak.
It’s said he was caught wearing a ‘shady disguise’ in a jewellery shop (Picture: HBO)

However, despite the claims, the Jackson family gave an interview about the documentary for the first time, where they threw their support behind the star.

Tito, Marlon, Jackie and Taj told CBS that ‘naivety was his downfall’.

MJ’s cousin Taj, who said he was there at the ‘sleepovers’ with the star, added: ‘To the outside world, yes, I think it can be odd. I mean, I’m not oblivious to what it sounds like… I grew up in it, so for me it wasn’t odd.

‘I think the fault on my uncle was he just, he didn’t have that bone in his body to look at it the other way. And I think that was the thing, is that his naivety was his downfall in a way.

‘I hate to say it, [but] when it’s my uncle, it’s almost like they see a blank check.’

Michael Jackson estate's statement on Leaving Neverland

'Leaving Neverland isn’t a documentary, it is the kind of tabloid character assassination Michael Jackson endured in life, and now in death. The film takes uncorroborated allegations that supposedly happened 20 years ago and treats them as fact. These claims were the basis of lawsuits filed by these two admitted liars which were ultimately dismissed by a judge. The two accusers testified under oath that these events never occurred. They have provided no independent evidence and absolutely no proof in support of their accusations, which means the entire film hinges solely on the word of two perjurers.

'Tellingly, the director admitted at the Sundance Film Festival that he limited his interviews only to these accusers and their families. In doing so, he intentionally avoided interviewing numerous people over the years who spent significant time with Michael Jackson and have unambiguously stated that he treated children with respect and did nothing hurtful to them. By choosing not to include any of these independent voices who might challenge the narrative that he was determined to sell, the director neglected fact checking so he could craft a narrative so blatantly one-sided that viewers never get anything close to a balanced portrait.

'For 20 years, Wade Robson denied in court and in numerous interviews, including after Michael passed, that he was a victim and stated he was grateful for everything Michael had done for him. His family benefitted from Michael’s kindness, generosity and career support up until Michael’s death. Conveniently left out of Leaving Neverland was the fact that when Robson was denied a role in a Michael Jackson themed Cirque du Soleil production, his assault allegations suddenly emerged.

'We are extremely sympathetic to any legitimate victim of child abuse. This film, however, does those victims a disservice.  Because despite all the disingenuous denials made that this is not about money, it has always been about money – millions of dollars — dating back to 2013 when both Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who share the same law firm, launched their unsuccessful claims against Michael’s Estate. Now that Michael is no longer here to defend himself, Robson, Safechuck and their lawyers continue their efforts to achieve notoriety and a payday by smearing him with the same allegations a jury found him innocent of when he was alive.'

I’m A Celebrity 2019 casting begins as bosses go on the hunt for ‘high energy and funny’ stars

Casting for the new series of I’m A Celebrity is underway already (Picture: REX/Shutterstock)

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are already on the hunt for celebrities to go into the jungle this year.

It’s only March but work on series 19 is underway.

Bosses are looking for ‘funny’ and ‘high energy’ famous faces for the next series in the hope that the 2019 cast will be ‘a treat’ for viewers.

I’m A Celebrity casting executive Micky Van Praag gave an insight into the process during an Masterclass event at Bafta on Monday night.

‘It’s very early days so don’t ask me who I’ve got!’ she said.

‘At the minute I’m working on it alone but as we progress into the year the team normally gets in around May or June time.

‘At the moment I’m by myself just thinking about who makes up the core of that cast.

‘I think we know what works. I think of our show as a comedy so I think we’re always looking for people that are funny and high energy. We know that those types of things always work.

‘Otherwise I think we want something different every year. We don’t want to paint by numbers. We don’t want to look for the next Harry Redknapp or the next John Barrowman or the next Fleur East.’

The show’s Creative Director Richard Cowles revealed that hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly always suggest their own ideas for celebs.

‘We keep Ant and Dec updated. They will always suggest names, but then we all suggest names. Poor Micky gets so many emails from everyone about it. Everyone’s got the best cast idea,’ he said.

He also explained that the cast needs to have ‘broad appeal’.

He said: ‘We have people from eight to 80 watching it. The way I’ve always looked at it is you want to have at least two or three people in the cast that everyone in the family will know.

‘It’s quite a difficult thing to do. You just want to have enough so everyone can sit there and go, “I know those people” and to appeal to everyone.

‘It’s a weird way of casting. You cast for show one which is when the public and the press all react to it and then you cast for the rest of the series and you’ve got to get that balance right.

‘You got to have it so that it will appeal…it’s not just about the names. It’s about people who are going to be interesting and hold your attention.’

Micky confessed that there had been some big name bookings that fell through at the last minute, but kept schtum on who they were.

‘There have been a couple of close calls. People pull out for various reasons, a number of reasons, So yeah it does happen and it’s absolutely devastating when it happens.

‘But then I always think everything happens for a reason and hopefully they come back. Which is why I’m not going to tell you who because eventually they might come and do the show.’

The BAFTA TV & Craft nominations will be announced on 28 March with the BAFTA Television Awards taking place on 12 May.

Apex Legends leak reveals 10 new characters and battle pass release date

Characters in Apex Legends
Apex Legends – have the new characters been revealed? (Picture: EA)

Apex Legends looks to have 10 new characters on the way, going by dataminers who have dug deep into the code of Respawn’s shooter.

After dataminers recently unearthed details of the forthcoming battle pass for Apex Legends, a bunch of new characters have been discovered which could give a better indication of what’s in store.

Uncovered by dataminer Shrugtal and posted on Reddit, the list of icons and concept art lists eight new Legends alongside the previously leaked characters Octane and Wattson.

A bunch of information has already leaked about character Octane, who is believed to have a launch pad ability which catapults users into the air. So it certainly sounds likely he’ll be the one released first when the battle pass launches.

While it’s important to take these leaks with a grain of salt, these characters are given credence thanks to a recent, now deleted, update on the Origin store indicating the battle pass will launch today (12 March).

The Origin store briefly put up the announcement of the battle pass before taking it down, with a number of users circulating the images and details online.

The update was titled ‘Welcome to the Wild Frontier’ with an image of Octane. Underneath the banner, reads: ‘Survive the arena, meet the Apex Games’ latest Legend, Octane, wield new weapons and score unique loot.’

Is this the battle pass for Apex Legends? (Picture: EA)

The battle pass was priced at 950 Apex Coins, or roughly £7.99.

It certainly looks legitimate, so Apex Legends fans might want to keep a close eye on their respective online stores.

There’s a lot riding on the battle pass in Apex Legends, with many players now wondering how developer Respawn will handle new content in the wake of the game’s huge success.

Apex Legends hit over 50 million players worldwide earlier this month, outpacing the growth of major rival Fortnite in the same period.

With Fortnite’s success in large part due to developer Epic Games delivering a consistently surprising string of updates in their battle passes, it’ll be interesting to see if Respawn and EA can maintain the same longevity through the same means.

Apex Legends is available now, for free, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Bachelor UK contestants all turn on Alex after he gives rose to new girl and ‘liar’ Charlotte T, which is fair

The Bachelor UK could be about to lose all of the remaining women in the series after giving his rose to new girl, Charlotte T.

Subsequently, the model is zooming straight through to the next round, and with just four more nights to go until The Bachelor winner has been announced, the rest of the pack are fuming.

After almost two weeks of vying for Alex’s attention, Charlotte swooped straight in and landed a solo date.

And she managed to get a kiss – ‘multiple’ kisses, actually. Or did she?

Later, ahead of tonight’s Rose Ceremony, a clip revealed that Alicia, who last night Alex confirmed was edging further and further ahead of her competition, confronted Charlotte about that aforementioned snog/snogs.

But the newcomer denied everything, which is odd, because another clip reveals she couldn’t have been clearer when asked if she played any tonsil tennis with the personal trainer.

As Alicia sat down with Alex to talk all things Alex, probably, Charlotte blew up: ‘You can’t make up things that I’ve said and escalate and exaggerate them when they didn’t happen.’

You know what hits the fan. The only thing is, she said it.

After the incident, Alex sat on the fence, tried to calm everyone down, and actually it seems like the ladies are all done.

Although, we know at least one of them hangs around long enough for Friday’s finale, because axed contestant Tonique leaked The Bachelor UK winner during a night out after episode one.

The Bachelor airs tonight at 10.15pm on Channel 5.

Jussie Smollett is so keen to be an active participant in defending the 16 charges currently filed against him, the Empire actor strutted into a hearing he didn’t have to attend today.

The actor, who is facing 16 Class 4 Felony charges for disorderly conduct for filing a false report, walked into the Cook County Courthouse on Tuesday ahead of his entourage, seeming strong in his stance.

The 36-year-old had been laying low since his arrest earlier this month, however he made an appearance wearing shades, gloves and a trench coat as several members of his team trailed behind.

According to TMZ today’s hearing was for his attorney, Mark Geragos, to file the paperwork so he can represent the actor and his case in Illinois.

While Chicago’s Sun Times claimed today’s hearing was to decide whether to allow cameras in the courtroom during proceedings in the upcoming case.

It comes after Smollett was originally charged with one Class 4 Felony charge for disorderly conduct for filing a false report, after claiming two men attacked him last month in a hate crime.

In an 86-page indictment filed by a grand jury, that charge was then applied 15 times over, meaning he now faces 16 felony counts.

While each charge doesn’t potentially mean additional time in prison, each one does carry a maximum probation sentence of four years.

He’s now potentially facing a maximum of three years in prison, a $25,000 fine and 60 years probation.

Aleex Marks as The Bachelor UK
Has Alex Mark’s winner already been revealed on The Bachelor? (Picture: Channel 5)

* Warning, contains spoilers!

It looks like the winner of Alex Marks’ heart has already been revealed ahead of tonight’s final episode of The Bachelor – and it’s all thanks to Channel 5’s editing.

At the end of Monday’s installment, a teaser for the last ever cocktail party in South Africa played out featuring a close up of the chosen one’s hand.

In the clip, the camera focuses on a ring which has been worn by one of the single girls throughout the season’s entirety, so of course it didn’t take long for viewers to release their inner Sherlock Holmes and do the math.

Viewers blasted Channel 5 for spoiling the finale episode of The Bachelor (Picture: Twitter)

Sharing their findings while airing their frustrations, one angry viewer demanded on Twitter: ‘Why would Channel 5 The Bachelor give away the identity on the winner in clips from the final red rose ceremony? Too easy to work out who the winner is.’

Another followed suit, adding: ‘Can’t believe Alicia wins The Bachelor UK. Sad for Reanne, we’ve all been there love…. Fuming.’

Alicia has worn the same exact ring throughout the series (Picture: Channel 5)

This isn’t the first time that the winner’s identity has been strongly hinted at either.

Presenter Mark Wright teased on This Morning that Alex picks the girl he followed from the start, telling hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that she’s probably the one viewers ‘wouldn’t expect.’

The Bachelor continues on Tuesday night at 10.15pm on Channel 5.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are not worried about the ratings when Ant McPartlin returns to the show later this year.

Ant took a year off from TV work in 2018 in the wake of his drink driving arrest, and Holly Willoughby joined Declan Donnelly on I’m A Celeb instead.

The last series was the most-watched so far with the launch episode alone drawing in a peak audience of 11.9million, one of the biggest viewing figures of that year.

Producers are certain they can keep up the magic sparked by pairing Dec and Holly.

Speaking at a Bafta Masterclass on Monday night, Creative Director Richard Cowles said: ‘We love what Holly did, but we’re very much looking forward to Ant coming back and I think it’s going to be an amazing series.

‘I think the job is for us to create a series and cast where everyone wants to come back and watch more, so I’m not worried. I’m looking forward to seeing Ant and Dec back again.’

Ant is making his TV return starting with Britain’s Got Talent, and is currently filming the audition stages.

I’m A Celeb is set to return later this year and producers are on the hunt for ‘high energy and funny’ celebs to throw in the jungle.

Cowles also revealed that Ant and Dec regularly chip in with ideas when it comes to casting.

‘We keep Ant and Dec updated. They will always suggest names, but then we all suggest names,’ he said.

He said: ‘We have people from eight to 80 watching it. The way I’ve always looked at it is you want to have at least two or three people in the cast that everyone in the family will know.

Pete Doherty cuts a low-key figure on his 40th birthday as he takes his pet Huskies for a walk in Margate

Libertines frontman Pete Doherty kept things pretty restrained on his 40th birthday in Margate, Kent.

A shadow of his party-loving self, the rocker was pictured walking with his two Husky dogs as he reached a big birthday milestone on Tuesday.

He was dressed in a typically-cool, oversized Parka jacket and a retro Baker Boy cap, which almost hid his salt and pepper hair.

Keeping things decidedly low-key, Kate Moss’s ex-fiance would have been cutting a solitary figure were it not for man’s best friend.

The rocker’s Siberian dogs walked beside him on leads looking well-behaved, four months after a neighbour claimed they’d killed her eight-year-old cat Archie.

While it’s not clear what Pete’s big birthday plans involve this week, the frontman is working up to his European tour with new band Peter Doherty and The Puta Madres.

The ensemble is releasing a debut album next month, and the band will be on the road by May.

Shows include Bristol, Manchester, London and Leeds before Paris, Vienna and Berlin.

The lead single from the self-titled album, called Who’s Been Having You Over, was quietly released back in January with new music from The Libertines expected in 2020.

With a busy year ahead, the Libertines star is said to have beaten his addiction demons after his last reported rehab stint in 2014.

Writing a letter from the Hope Rehab Centre in Thailand, Pete said he spoke frankly about his 10-year public struggle with cocaine and heroin addiction.

The singer describes said he wanted to get clean many times during his addiction, but didn’t know how.

Pete is said to have settled on the southeast coast in the last few years.

He quit the London life for Paris back in 2008, but quickly moved away from the chaotic French capital in favour of the peaceful town of Melun.

In 2015, he admitted to living a pretty boring existence, spending time going to antique markets and playing petanque.

Kate Winslet film Ammonite under fire for inserting fictional same-sex romance into biographical story

Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan are set to portray a lesbian romance in the life of Mary Anning, that her family say is strictly fictitious.

New film Ammonite is facing a backlash for the same-sex storyline that has been written between Anning (Winslet) and Frances Bell (Ronan).

Anning was a pioneering British paleontologist in the 1840s, however, claims about her sexuality were never confirmed.

In a new depiction of her life, Anning develops ‘an intense relationship’ with Bell, ‘altering both of their lives forever’.

The romance is currently being filmed in Lyme Regis, in West Dorset, where Anning was truthfully based.

The fossil hunter’s distant niece Barbara Anning wrote on an online forum: ‘I do not believe there is any evidence to back up portraying her as a gay woman…

‘I believe Mary Anning was abused because she was poor, uneducated and a woman. Is that not enough?’

She told MailOnline: ‘As far as I know and there was no suggestion that she was a lesbian at all. That’s just what they do I suppose.

‘But it’s great they are telling her story because I do think she is a strong female role model in this ‘me too’ generation.’

Fellow relative Julie Anning Fletcher accused the producers of ‘following market trends’.

One relative described Anning as a ‘loner and an independent woman’ but wasn’t averse to the depiction of a ‘tasteful’ same-sex romance in the paleontologist’s life.

Lorraine Anning told The Telegraph: ‘I think it might be to make her more attractive. The fact she was a loner, an independent woman, in today’s times that could mean something different.

‘To be honest, it doesn’t matter; as long as it’s well presented and tastefully done and in the spirit of Mary Anning, then I think it’s brilliant.’

Ammonite is the next dramatic love story from God’s Own Country writer and director Francis Lee.

Set on the Jurassic Coast in the 1840s, the historical drama follows the unlikely romance between Anning and a young, wealthy London woman suffering from ailing health who is sent to live by the sea to recuperate.

Netta Barzilai, the winner of last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, has been pictured looking completely fierce on the catwalk, showing off Israeli designer Bananhot’s new collection.

Is there anything she’s not good at?

The Toy singer took to the stage during Tel Aviv Fashion Week in a bold yellow bodysuit and she looked absolutely amazing.

Werk, girl.

Netta, who represented her home country of Israel, looked like she had confidence to spare as she strutted down the catwalk, flanked and cheered on by other models, even showing off a few dance moves on the way down.

We stan.

The 26-year-old won over audiences during the 2018 contest with her ridiculously catchy girl power anthem and bizarre, potentially chicken-inspired, dance moves – despite previously telling Metro.co.uk that she was ’embarrassed’ to be labelled a favourite to win.

However, the star recently got serious to speak out about how boycotting the competition due to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories isn’t the answer.

Speaking to the BBC, Netta said: ‘I believe that if people boycott Eurovision, they might go against their own beliefs. I believe in a dialogue, I believe in a process. Boycotting is preventing light from being spread, and when you boycott light you spread darkness, and that is what I think. Boycotting isn’t the answer, in my opinion.’

She continued: ‘It’s all about building bridges, it’s all about celebrating diversity, being all these people from all these places on the same stage and saying “hey, we’re all the same and we’re celebrating all these ethnicities and all these kinds and types of music”.

‘It’s the magical music festival and you can do whatever you want and you can bring whatever you want and it’s amazing. It shouldn’t be political, it’s a disaster if it will be.’

The United Kingdom will be sending Michael Rice to Tel Aviv, after his song Bigger Than Us won over Eurovision: You Decide viewers last month.

Games Inbox: Favourite 3DS game, The Division 2 vs. Destiny 2, and Dragon’s Dogma 2

When was the last time you saw one in public?
What’s its best game?

The evening Inbox doesn’t think a boycott of Anthem is going to work, as one reader prefers Celeste to New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe.

Portable era

Sad to think the 3DS is ending after all this time, but it’s had a good innings I guess and certainly lasted a long time. Was never as successful as the DS before it but the fact that it got anywhere close given the rise of the smartphone – which wasn’t really a thing during the DS’s lifetime – is a real testament to the console and its games.

Of course the biggest issue here is that it may not get any kind of follow-up, with probably no more plans for Nintendo, or anyone else, to make a portable-only console again. You can see why, obviously, but I still think it’s a shame as good portable games are always very distinct from home games and you can tell they’re purposefully made to be played in short bursts, which I can appreciate whether I’m at home or not.

It made me start to wonder what was my favourite 3DS game, and portable game in general, which might be a good question for a future Hot Topic. Be strange to think that portable gaming might only seen as something that lasted 30 years or so and then stopped. I dread to think what kids today think of the Game Boy but at the time that was state-of-the-art!

GC: We might do something like that next week.

The sensible one

Thinking about it, Anthem failing and Destiny losing its publisher is probably the best thing that could happen to The Division 2. Before it was kind of the boring one of the group but now it feels like the only sensible choice out of the three, or at least the only one that seems to have a clear idea what it’s doing. Focusing on the endgame, free season passes, announcing all the DLC well in advance… Ubisoft has all this game as a service stuff down to a tee.

I’m not saying that out of any great love for the concept – I played The Division for a bit but got bored of it in a week or two – but you can tell when a company knows what it’s doing and when they’re just flailing about, desperate for success.

That’s obviously how you’d describe Anthem but I haven’t heard anything about Destiny 2 in ages. I get the impression Bungie are going to go quiet for a while and then relaunch? Or just skip to the third game? Not sure which but I think people are going to be a lot less trusting this time round.

Simple boycott

So let me get this straight: people playing Anthem liked a bug that made it super easy to get loot and resented when it was fixed because it meant they had to play the game properly. So now they’re boycotting the game until it’s put back. If playing the game is such a chore and all they want is the loot shouldn’t that tell them something?

This really does seem like the madness of modern gaming taken to the extreme. Like something you would’ve made up in years past. It also makes me think that Anthem is doomed and will never recover from its bad launch. Which is bad news for BioWare but I can’t say I’ll be upset if that sort of game goes out of fashion.

As others have said I like to be entertained by games at my own pace, when I chose. They’re not a job I have to attend and get guilted into when I haven’t been putting in the hours. If I’m going to boycott a game it’s going to be simply by not buying it in the first place.

Capcom’s dogma

Dragon’s Dogma is getting a Netflix series now? That is super weird. What even was the story in the game, I don’t remember anything except the dragon ripping your heart out at the beginning. I’m not going to complain though because I did like the game and Castlevania on Netflix was surprisingly great.

Hopefully this time it’ll actually lead to a new game though, because between this, the Switch version, and the hints of a sequel it’s all looking pretty positive. People were wondering what Capcom would do after Devil May Cry 5 and while I don’t think Dragon’s Dogma was top of the list of franchises to revive I’m still glad for it.

Howard the Hedgehog

It looks like there might be one good thing to come from the Sonic The Hedgehog movie. According to a leak on Reddit (that may well be fake, I realise) he’s actually called Robotnik the whole time, not Eggman. Presumably because Hollywood realises, like everyone else but Sega, tat Eggman is a stupid name.

I’m not sure the rest of the revelation give much hope though. Apparently Sonic arrives on Earth from an alien planet and is raised by an owl?! And he uses rings to travel to other dimensions… or something. It all sounds weirdly like Howard the Duck but with a different animal, because of course that old flop is such an obvious thing to want to copy.

It’s clearly going to be awful. At this point I just hope it’s so bad it’s good.

Soundtrack > graphics

I have to agree with Figo2019 and Donkey Kong Country’s soundtrack. As great as the soundtrack was it may have just got overlooked under all the hype of the graphics. It definitely deserves a mention though.

I always liked the soundtrack to Mystical Ninja Starring Goeman on the N64. There is some really nice compositions there and THAT song ‘I am Impact’ became instantly infectious. The song almost sounded like a cheesy ‘80s Saturday morning cartoon when the credits where rolling. The best thing though was the game made no apologies for it either.

Just brilliant!

It wasn’t a bad game either.

Cyber-punked

Seems a shame about that Occupation game, seemed pretty interesting. Hopefully they can fix the bugs and everything and maybe release a new edition somewhere down the road?

I got the comparisons to Deus Ex, which of course made me think of when there might be a new game but I’m going to guess that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to make that pretty pointless. Or maybe Square Enix will think cyberpunk is cool again and they’ll fast-track something to take advantage of it?

Can’t see it myself to be honest. In fact I’m not 100% sure that Cyberpunk 2077 will do as well as everyone assumes. I can’t think of anything cyberpunk related that has ever done particularly well, Blade Runner included.

Celeste Deluxe

A few weeks ago I picked up New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on Switch but eventually grew frustrated with it, as even though the challenge is fair I disliked how it would set you back to the beginning of the area when you ran out of lives, forcing you to replay all the levels again to get to where you were.

I know this has been a staple of the series forever but I don’t remember it bothering me as much with the DS version. Maybe it is because time is more at a premium now for compared to when I played the DS one. Anyway, after losing my patience with it I decided to make the odd decision of picking up an even more difficult platformer in Celeste, after GC and the readers’ high praise for it and I have to say I haven’t been disappointed.

I was initially put off by the comparisons with Super Meat Boy, which I thought was too hard for my skills, but so far so good with Celeste after finishing Chapter 3 with no assists. The story and soundtrack is great and I am comforted knowing that I can turn some assists on if it eventually gets too much for me, but I will resist as much as I can. I would never have tried it if it hadn’t been for GC and the readers.

Just because it hasn’t been said enough yet but Tetris 99 is amazing! Are they going to add any modes or extras to it thought because despite being free this is totally a game I would pay more for!

Whoops, Far Cry: New Dawn is already 50% on Uplay, that’s Ubisoft’s own store! I guess we might have seen the end of Far Cry spin-offs, or definitely any in a post-apocalyptic world.

This week’s Hot Topic

The subject for this weekend’s Inbox was suggested by reader Ishi, who asks what is your favourite video game soundtrack of the current generation?

That means anything on the Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, 3DS, or PS Vita – or any new PC game from early 2011 onwards. You can recommend a single song or a whole soundtrack, but we want to know what you think has been the best video game music for the modern formats?

What do you think of current trends in video game music and do you think this generation has been better or worse, in general, for video game music? And do you own any recent soundtracks separately, either as downloads or on CD or vinyl?
