Mother of Dragons. Breaker of Chains. Daenerys Targaryen. The woman coming for the Westeros crown has made her home with the Dothraki people, adopted their language and indeed carries a position of the highest regard: Khaleesi.

You, like many others – including the Game of Thrones HBO show – have probably been pronouncing it phonetically: ‘Ka-lee-see.’ Well, according to the inventor of the Dothraki language, you’ve been saying it wrong.

By like, a lot.

David Peterson, the genius language expert who came up with the varied and complex languages spoken in the land of Game of Thrones, recently revealed our collective faux pas during a chat on the podcast Allusionist.

Talking about how to pronounce the word, he revealed: ‘There’s no way it should be pronounced “ka-lee-see’ based on the spelling.’

Noooo! The shame. The horror.

He continued: ‘So I had to decide am I going to re-spell this thing because I know how people are going to pronounce this, or am I going to honour that spelling and pronounce it differently? I made the latter decision and I think it was the wrong decision.’

Imagine all those times we, the public, mispronounced Khaleesi. Dave must have spent a lot of time cringing. Soz.

According to Peterson, it’s more like “Ha-lay-eh-see”, with the K being silent and a throaty, Arabic-like ‘ha’ in the beginning.

‘You have an “ee” and an “I” and they can’t be pronounced the same if I want to honour George RR Martin’s spellings,’ he explained.

‘There was no way I was going to win that fight with the producers,’ he went on to say about honouring the true pronunciation.

‘The instinct is so strong with English speakers when you see a double “e”, it’s pronounced “ee.”’

Interestingly, the affix – or the ‘eesi’ part of the word – comes from an ‘old word that means woman’ so Khaleesi is literally translated to female khal.

While you’re marinating in your shame, the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is almost upon us.

Richard Hammond and wife Mindy braved the elements as they headed to Cheltenham Festival, almost getting blown away in the process.

The Grand Tour host clutched onto an umbrella as he made his way into the racecourse, flanked by his wife of 17 years, and their two daughters, Willow and Isabella.

But it doesn’t look like the brolly was enough to battle the weather, with the family eventually just giving up and rocking the windswept look.

Richard, 49, didn’t let the showers dampen his spirit, and kept smiling throughout the day like a pro.

Still, he’s just finished filming with James May and Jeremy Clarkson – and crashing RVs in the US – so a little rain is probably nothing.

The former Top Gear host wasn’t the only famous face attending Cheltenham’s Gold Cup day, with Victoria Pendleton and Carol Vorderman also popping in for the day.

While Lily Allen went seriously chic for the annual event, opting for beige trousers and a Burberry trench coat, covering up against the cold with a patterned scarf.

The It’s Not Fair singer seemed to be celebrating at the races, after she was spotted cheering in the crowd.

And the 33-year-old has a lot to smile about at the moment, as she recently revealed she had turned her back on Twitter.

Sort of…

Sick of all the negativity on the platform, on which she spent around five hours a day, she decided to log out for a little bit and have a breather, giving her password to her team.

In a candid chat with Metro.co.uk, she told us: ‘I don’t do my Twitter any more. It’s run by other people, I’m not really putting myself in a position where I see too much of that stuff.

‘If you’re young and running it yourself there is no way of avoiding the bad stuff.

‘I think that’s really concerning. It’s got worse as I get older,’ she continued. ‘I’m older and wiser, but if I was 19 again and having to see some of the things people write on there, I don’t know how I’d cope.

‘It is an interesting time. Young musicians or people in creative industries, everything is based on how many followers you have and your interactions.’

So now, she has a bunch of people doing it for her, while she continues loving life at the races. Not a bad life.

The Division 2 might primarily revolve around shooting bad guys on the streets of Washington, but there’s many variations on this satisfying loop for gear.

One of the key modes returning from the first game is The Division’s spin on PvP (player versus player), titled the Dark Zone. Instead of playing out like a straight deathmatch like Conflict, this mode sees players gather lucrative loot against other players.

To extract this loot from the Dark Zone you have to extract it, which alerts players in the nearby vicinity of your presence. The key hook was the constant threat from other players, who can hunt you down, kill you, and steal your gathered items.

The sequel has made a number of changes to this mode. These include having three separate Dark Zones (West, South, and East) which support up to 12 players. Ubisoft has also brought the stats of gear and weapon to within a narrower range, to prevent players with better gear from completely dominating the field.

You can’t initially play the Dark Zone when you boot up The Division 2, however, so here’s the quickest route to stealing loot from your fellow combatants.

How to unlock the Dark Zone

Find Senait Ezera

To unlock the Dark Zone, players have to jump through some hurdles in the campaign mode. First, you’ll need to open up the Theatre settlement and complete a few missions. This will allow you to recruit a character called Senait Ezera from the settlement to your White House base.

After speaking with Ezera at the White House, she’ll tell you about the Dark Zone and ask you to check one out. This starts the Dark Zone East Recon mission which is located on the right-hand side of the map.

Once you make your way over to the icon, you’ll start a relatively simple mission involving a number of skirmishes with enemies, before tagging supplies and activating security measures.

Once you’ve completed the required mission steps, you’ll get an introduction to the Dark Zone mechanics, including extractions and contaminated gear. Once this is completed the Dark Zone is open for business.

What level should I be when starting the Dark Zone?

Players usually acquire the Dark Zone East Recon mission between levels 9 and 11 when you naturally progress through the game, with a character at the level 10 range being the optimum entry point into the Dark Zone.

The actual area itself also exists within a zone of a base level at 10, so the game steers the player to be around this skill level anyway.

Queer Eye Season 3 drops on Netflix today, which means it’s been a whole year since Bobby, Karamo, Tan, Antoni and Jonathan sashayed onto our screens.

Tom (Episode 1, Season 1)

Remember the squad’s first-ever makeover, Tom “You can’t fix ugly” Jackson? Well, Tom finally remarried ex-wife Abby in May 2018, after gaining the confidence (thank you, Karamo) to ask her to marry him again last March.

He scrubbed up pretty well on the wedding day, with a trimmed salt and pepper beard. Plus, on his off days, it’s clear that he still swears by Tan’s open shirt and tucked T-shirt tip.

More romance has flourished since the Fab 5 worked their magic because AJ Brown and long-term partner Dre wed in secret last June, after getting engaged in February.

Transgender Queer Eye star Skyler Jay graduated The University Of Georgia in December 2018, 10 years after beginning as an undergraduate.

He then went on to sue the college for exclusions in the university’s health care plan that meant he was forced to pay out for his gender confirmation surgery.

What’s your favorite holiday tradition? 🎄❄️☃️🎁🌠🦌🎅🏼 I love the holidays. Despite it being somewhat difficult bc it’s the time at which I have to talk about my lack of relationship w/ my family the most when asked the common yearly questions of, “Where’s home?” “What does your family do for the holidays?” So definitely some strained moments for me throughout this season. But overall, I love the lights, the joy, the generosity in the air. Really the spirit of it all. This year is the first year I can recall that I haven’t felt the spirit in the air much. I know the reasons are largely because of my lack time/energy between juggling my developing painful health struggles, a personal & untimely breakup, & having to compartmentalize my life completely since May when I went back to school in order to graduate. Finishing my degrees while working my full time job was a challenge & took a lot of sacrifice. I believe part of that sacrifice was my time & energy for Christmas cheer/traditions. This year I’ve found so little time for any of my holiday traditions. I felt like this was a personal loss, that I couldn’t manage it all to give myself that time for the holiday I love the most. But one of my best friends pointed out to me that it wasn’t a loss, but strength of mine. That I could maintain that much accountability with myself to keep myself from my friends, from going out, from living a life outside of obligation, from traditions & comfort, to not only meet my goal of obtaining my degrees but exceed it by doing so with all A’s. It was hard & lonely. I think now that I’ve stopped moving & I’ve looked around me, I see the holiday that’s crept up on me, I feel it even more. But I have to remind myself that this is a season & it will return. There is one holiday tradition that I will never let creep by me despite any amount of Christmas blues I may feel. It’s one I learned from a family I use to spend many Christmas Eves with growing up. Opening one gift on Christmas Eve, always the same gift. New pj pants that you wear to bed that night. Cory (Episode 3, Season 1)

This is not a drill: Cory has a beard now. Perhaps the most committed of all of the Queer Eye alum, Cory has been keeping fans up to date with his transformations on Instagram, including his use of filters, face packs and new facial fuzz.

What’s more, the police officer is still ‘close friends’ with Karamo Brown, with whom he shared an emotional bonding moment in the episode Dega Don’t.

‘Because of [Cory], I’m a little more open and a little less jaded when I see police officers,’ Karamo said in 2018.

‘It doesn’t mean I think all police officers are going to be good, but that doesn’t mean that all people are good. We still have some political differences, but as a whole, I see him as a human being and he sees me as a human being.

‘I see him as a father, he sees me as a father. That’s why we’re texting each other at eight o’clock in the morning.’

Ashley Graham is one of the most well-known models out there today, and she is often held up as an example of the industry finally embracing more diverse, curvier body shapes.

But as Ashley recently pointed out, it wasn’t always the case. She created her own swimwear line because she couldn’t find ‘sexy’ and ‘supportive’ bikinis in her size.

The 31-year-old model has insisted that she chose to design her own ranges of inclusive swimwear and lingerie – named Swimsuits For All and Addition Elle respectively – because ‘nobody wanted to make them’ for her ‘curvy’ body.

Speaking to Vogue Australia, Graham said: ‘There’s still is such a lack of diversity on the runway and the luxury market.

‘I didn’t have sexy, supportive lingerie that I could find for my size. And same goes with bikinis, I wanted little tiny string bikinis and nobody wanted to make them for my curvy-ass body, so I did it!

‘I think what it does is it opens up the eyes to designers also and says, “oh wow, if she’s making these clothes, lingerie, and swim and they’re selling out, then what does that mean?” Well it means that the curve industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and that more people should get involved.’

Graham, who has walked the likes of New York Fashion Week and many more, insisted that she ‘appreciates’ high-end designers who create pieces for women of all ‘shapes and sizes’, and feel ‘honoured’ to be part of a movement that advocates ‘celebrating’ your curves.

She added: ‘I love and appreciate so much people like Prabal [Gurung], Michael [Kors], Christian [Siriano], you know, they have really committed to designing for women and representing women of all shapes, sizes, ethnicity, and ages.

‘It’s an honour to work with some of these designers on custom looks that celebrate my curves and it’s so fun to be able to go into the design teams and have these raw, natural conversations with them and talk about what I want to accentuate and what fabrics I would like to wear.

‘The designers who have dressed me have been really passionate about it and they’re passionate about what it means to dress a woman with curves. And I think that we need more designers like that, that are not just taking a chance but believing in the diversity of women.’

Bradley Cooper and girlfriend Irina Shayk made the perfect family portrait on an afternoon playing with their daughter Lea, this week.

Seen for the first time as a family since the Oscars 2019, blissful Bradley and Irina turned a blind eye to rumours of a rift over Lady Gaga.

They were sat together on a doorstep on a sunny day and spent time cooing over their angelic daughter, who is due to turn two years old later this month.

Bradley began dating the Russian model back in 2015, shortly after she split from Cristiano Ronaldo, and they started a family in 2017.

Their romance has always been a strong one, though rife rumours about a possible connection between Gaga and Bradley were sparked by a particularly intimate performance of Shallows at last month’s Academy Awards.

Irina allegedly unfollowed Gaga on social media after the event, amid claims she was ‘sick of all the stories.’

And even Bradley’s ex-wife Jennifer Esposito had a laugh about the suggestion that the duo was sleeping together.

While Gaga has already publicly denied that the romance depicted was anything more than acting, the latest pictures prove that the actor and his girlfriend haven’t been rocked by the reports.

Last month, Gaga said: ‘People saw love and, guess what, that’s what we wanted to you to see. This is a love song. The movie, A Star Is Born, it’s a love story.

‘From a performance perspective, it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time.

‘When you’re singing love songs, that’s how you want people to feel. I’m an artist! I guess we did a good job. Fooled ya!’

James May’s random YouTube unboxing video from last year has been a bunch of context in the latest episode of The Grand Tour, with views approaching the one million.

After announcing new spin-off Amazon series without co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, May’s past solo outing in the YouTube realm has returned to the forefront after a recent skit on The Grand Tour.

In the latest episode, the trio tasked each other with selling three hatchback cars to the younger generation – using the power of slogans, stickers and social media.

May decided to use the popularity of YouTube unboxing videos to promote his Toyota Yaris GRMN, by boxing up the entire car and doing it live on camera.

This YouTube video was released into the wild in November last year on the DriveTribe channel, with no context as to why it was made.

The Grand Tour fans are now revisiting the video with added context, realising they were duped all along for their views.

One comment on the video reads: ‘Who’s here from the grand tour after watching this video a couple months back thinking “wait a bloody minute..”’

Another stated: ‘This makes a lot more sense after s3e10 of grand tour.’

Incredibly, May also went on to win the competition on the episode. So can we call May a successful ‘YouTube star’ now?

Jordan Patrick Smith and Sophie Vavasseur have swapped bloody swords and dangerous liaisons for big grins as the pair got together in the lead up to International Kiss Day.

The day, which falls on 13 April celebrates all forms of kisses, from pecks to smooches across the world, and the duo, who have an off-screen romance are to be puckering up.

Taking to Instagram, Vavasseur uploaded a cute picture of her and her boo with the following caption: ‘Hip hip hurray it’s nearly kissing day.’

Smith’s Ubbe was introduced in season 4 (after Cormac Melia, who played the character from season 2-3 was replaced) and it is yet unclear what will become of him as he converts to Christianity and becomes a key adviser to King Alfred ‘The Great.’

Félicité Tomlinson’s boyfriend has paid a moving tribute to the Instagram who died of a suspected heart attack at the age of 18.

The death of the sister of One Direction’s Louis was announced on Thursday evening after she collapsed and died on Wednesday in her studio in West London.

Lukey Storey, her boyfriend, shared a heartbreaking post alongside a photo of the couple together in which he described Félicité as ‘one of the kindest, sweetest, purist people I’d ever met. A purity too rare for this world.’

He said: ‘There aren’t words for how painful this is. I’m writing in a state of shock.’

Her model and DJ boyfriend said the couple were ‘pain twins’ who ‘understood each other from the get go’.

He added: ‘I relapsed in my flat with only you there beside me , I saw in you what I carry too, I wish we had spent more time together sober, but we rarely were.

‘Too busy running away from our demons. Keeping each others pain in perfect company: We were pain twins.

‘It feels like it should of been me, and a bad dream I will soon wake up from. I keep crying, not eaten or slept since I heard the news.

‘I wish I could have done something, anything to have not let this happen. The last thing you said to me was calling me ‘bubba’ that you were proud of me for getting clean again.

‘I replied thank you my darling and what I asked of u the next day will haunt me to my grave. Today I wish I was right there with you. It could of been me, or anyone in our circle of maniacs.

‘I think it should of been me. I didn’t know wether I should even post this or make any of my feelings public because it feels too real, raw and personal.’

Speaking of the Instagram star’s passing, the London Ambulance Service said to Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘We were called at 12.51pm.

‘We sent two ambulance crews, a single responder in a car and an advanced paramedic to the scene.

‘Sadly, despite efforts of our medics, a person died.’

Louis, 27, was working in London and informed of his sister’s death the same day. He also has sisters Charlotte (Lottie), Daisy, Georgia and Phoebe and the family shared a close bond.

Sources close to the Tomlinson family told TMZ Félicité had ‘absolutely no warning signs’ and they knew of ‘no prior history of heart trouble’.

The website alleged she suffered from sciatica, an extreme form of back pain that originates from the nerves.

A family friend told The Sun: ‘Félicité was an absolutely adored young woman who was loved by Louis and her whole family.’

Louis was left devastated after his beloved mum, Johannah Deakin, died in December 2016 after a battle with leukemia.

He recently released his song Two Of Us, which was about the passing of Johannah – which he was set to perform tomorrow.

It sports the lyrics: ‘You’ll never know how much I miss you. The day that they took you, I wish it was me instead.’

Speaking about the song to her followers on Instagram, Félicité told fans on hearing the song: ‘I cried my eyes out in the back of my Uber, but I loved the song filled me with hope.’

Opening up on his grief to BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat, Louis said of the song: ‘I’m not at the stage in my grief where I’m going to open the first verse and burst into tears.

‘It was something I needed to get off my chest. I used to lean on my mum for a lot of things – anytime I needed advice on something she would be the first call I made.’

Rapper Dave’s first studio album has debuted at Number 1 in an incredibly close Official Albums chart battle.

The 20-year-old’s Psychodrama scored a Number 1 debut after going head to head for the top spot against Foals.

The London artist, who released his 2017 Top 20 EP Game Over, began the week at Number 5 as fellow rappers – including Krept and Konan – urged fans to support and buy his latest work.

Following heavy support from social media users, many of which even opted to purchase physical CDs, Psychodrama racked up 26,390 combined sales, including 23.6 million track streams, making up 79% of its total figure.

Dave’s single Black, a song about black empowerment, caused some controversy amongst listeners who were uncomfortable with the song, with some calling it racist.

BBC DJ Annie Mac defended the song which has the lyrics: ‘Black is beautiful, Black is excellent, Black is pain, Black is joy, Black is evident.’

Mac posted on Twitter herself, stating her frustration and adding: ‘Let me get this straight, if you are genuinely offended by a man talking about the colour of his skin and how it has shaped his identity…’

Aside from the controversy fans have praised Psychodrama for acting like a therapy session as the lyricist touched on the heavy themes of societal injustice, race, prison, relationships, and industry contradictions.

Not bad for a first album. Not bad at all.

This, however, means that Foals had to settle for the second best spot after the release of their highly-anticipated album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part.

The group finished with only 279 combined sales behind Dave, with their fourth album inside the Top 5. Talk about a close call!

But there is a win for Foals, as Everything Not Saved is the best-selling vinyl of the week and it also takes the top spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.

Meanwhile, Dido landed at Number 3 with her fifth studio album and first in six years Still On My Mind, and Norwegian singer Sigrid opens at Number 4 with her debut set Sucker Punch.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, Lewis Capaldi claimed a third week at Number 1 with Someone You Loved.

But Dave took home three of the highest entries this week with Disaster featuring J Hus at Number 8, Streatham at Number 9, while the 11th spot now belongs to track Location featuring Burna Boy.

Last time Dave achieved a Number 1 single was back in October 2018 when Funky Friday featuring Fredo debuted at the top.

Tonight, a short sequel to classic film Four Weddings and a Funeral will be shown for Comic Relief.

As part of the Red Nose Day telethon, the old gang will be getting back together in the Richard Curtis directed follow-on.

Of course it wouldn’t be the same without the film’s protagonist Charles – played by Hugh Grant.

Hugh Grant is the fopping English actor who launched a thousand rom-coms, and has also found something of a niche acting as politicians.

He was born on 9 September 1960 (making him 58 years old) at Charing Cross Hospital.

After school, he attended New College, Oxford, and starred in a film called Privileged during his time there.

From there his acting career blossomed, and he starred in Maurice, White Mischief, and The Dawning. His major break would come at 32. when he was cast in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Further works included Nine Months alongside Julianne Moore and Notting Hill with Julia Roberts. Plus, who could forget his turns in About A Boy and Bridget Jones’ Diary.

More recently, he has played the villain in Paddington 2, and starred as Jeremy Thorpe in the critically acclaimed drama A Very English Scandal.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, he’s worth approximately £60 million.

Hugh married Swedish TV producer Anna Eberstein, 39, in May last year.

It was the first marriage of the actor, but he has been in some high profile relationships. Between 1987 and 2000 he dated Elizabeth Hurley, and is godfather to her son Damian (born in 2002).

He has five children; the first born in September 2011 to Tinglan Hong, the second with now-wife Eberstein, the third with Hong, and the subsequent two more with Eberstein.

Gemma Collins and James ‘Arg’ Argent proved their split drama has been well and truly put to bed as they headed to a fundraising evening together.

Proving all was well between the lovebirds, they cut some serious shapes on the dancefloor, with a suited and booted Arg twirling the GC like a queen.

Garg – it works – hit a rough patch earlier this month after Mark Wright’s pal shared a video of his girlfriend sleeping and snoring on his Instagram page.

Which is not on.

Despite quickly taking the clip down, the damage was done and Gem was left fuming, sparking an almighty row.

Arg then sent her a barrage of texts, telling her she had ‘more rolls than Greggs’, causing an even bigger argument.

‘She was furious. I was kicked out of the flat. We didn’t get physical with each other but my bags were chucked out. We did get a bit personal.’

Addressing his own weight issues, he added: ‘Pot kettle black. I’m a hypocrite, I struggle with my weight. I’m the biggest I’ve ever been.

‘Gemma’s lost weight doing Dancing On Ice, she looks the best she’s ever been.’

Benedict Cumberbatch and Noel Fielding have raised money for Comic Relief 2019 by swimming through cold water. Well Benedict has, at least.

The pair were joined by Zander Woollcombe from United Global Mental Health to raise money for mental health programmes for Red Nose Day on March 15, ahead of the show’s launch.

It seems Noel, however, left Zander and Benedict to put in the hard work themselves, with the former spotted on the side-lines with luxurious furry coat intact.

You’ve got to think of the hair, we suppose.

This year’s Comic Relief is set to feature a number of returning shows and flicks, with Richard Madden set to reprise his role in the Bodyguard for a one-off special.

Four Weddings And A Funeral is also getting a 12 minute sequel in the vein of Love, Actually last year, which brings back Hugh Grant and the rest of the cast.

The sequel is titled One Red Nose Day and A Wedding, and will air during the Comic Relief 2019 telethon.

BBC’s Bodyguard made quite the splash when season one aired last year.

Will there be a second series of Bodyguard starring Richard Madden?

After Richard Madden took home a Golden Globe and an National Television Award for his turn as ex-soldier and bodyguard David Budd, the possibility of him returning for second season seems all the more tantalising.

The thriller, which first aired in 2018, followed Budd as he struggles with PTSD as a result of his time in the Army. After a heroic act, he’s assigned to protect Conservative MP Julie Montague, whose pro-war politics he loathes, and he becomes embroiled in a deadly conspiracy.

Over 10 million viewers tuned in to the finale when it aired on BBC One, and, as far as the entertainment value of season one is concerned, the numbers don’t lie.

So that leaves us with just one, burning question…

Will Bodyguard get a second season?

While there’s been no official announcement that a Bodyguard season two is on the way, there have been some promising new developments on the matter.

The creator of the show, Jed Mercurio, said that the delay in delivering a second season is a result of ‘logistics’.

At the INTV conference in Isreal (via Deadline), Mercurio said: ‘It would be great if there was a second season.

‘We’d love to do more. We appreciate there’s a real hunger from fans to watch it. There are a lot of logistics in terms of setting up a second season and we’re just working through those.’

While we wait with bated breath for further news on the subject, fans can at least take solace in the fact that Bodyguard season one is coming to Netflix on 23 March.

If that’s not enough Bodyguard for you, then tune in to the Comic Relief telethon tonight from 7pm, because Richard is reprising his role in a special skit for the charity, in which Budd is tasked with the very serious job of keeping the Red Nose safe.

James Gunn has returned to Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, less than a year after being fired.

The 52-year-old was axed last July after tweets he previously posted years ago came to light, in which he mocked paedophilia and rape.

But it seems as though Disney has had a change of heart, and reinstated the director at the helm of the superhero sequel.

Gunn confirmed the news on Twitter, sharing a statement with his 553k followers.

‘I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months,’ it read. ‘I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be.

‘I deeply appreciate Disney’s decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all.

‘I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all.’

According to Deadline, Disney president Alan Horn met Gunn on several occasions after he was axed, and was impressed by his apology and handling of the situation.

However, despite the company not having met with any other directors for Guardians, his return might be a little more complicated as he signed up to lead Suicide Squad 2.

The publication states Marvel has agreed to wait until that is complete before beginning work on their sequel.

So we might not be seeing Chris Pratt and co back on the big screen for a while.

Gunn was sacked from the production last summer, after a series of tweets he had shared a decade before had come to light.

‘I like when little boys touch me in my silly place,’ one read.

While another said: ‘The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like, “whew this feels great, not being raped!”’

In a statement, Walt Disney Studios chairman later vowed: ‘The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values and we have severed our business relationship with him.’

Following the posts emerging, Gunn apologised publicly and explained they were sent by his ‘past self’.

In a statement shared to Hollywood Reporter, he said: ‘My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative.

‘I have regretted them for many years since – not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.’

He added: ‘Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then.

‘All I can do now, beyond my sincere and heartfelt regret, is to be the best human being I can be: accepting, understanding, committed to equality, and far more thoughtful about my public statements and my obligations to our public discourse.

‘To everyone inside my industry and beyond, I again offer my deepest apologies. Love to all.’

One of the surprise favourites to come out of the Captain Marvel movie is the superhero’s loveable cat (who isn’t actually a feline but rather a tentacled alien species, AKA a Flerken), ‘Goose.’

The kitty has been a big hit with audiences, he got his own poster and even spawned a global meme after people launched a Photoshop battle using his picture.

Though there are four cats who share the role of Goose – Archie, Rizzo, Gonzo and Reggie – the latter has really caught people’s attention.

Animal trainer Ursula Brauner, who has over 30 years experience with animal actors, told The Insider that all four cats had a spot of trouble filming with certain extraterrestrial shapeshifters, Skrulls.

When asked if the cats found any scenes difficult, she revealed: ‘I think maybe it was probably the Skrull costumes. That was one of our challenges because they look so different from people.

‘Ben Mendelsohn was so amazing getting the cats used to the costume and makeup, though. He showed them how he moved and sounded, and he was just really great at getting the cats to like him.’

We don’t blame the cats, tbh.

It also appears that Samuel L Jackson and the cats became best buds despite the actor’s reported distaste for the furry animals.

‘None of that really was a factor when we started working,’ Brauner said.

‘Brie with her allergies, she still did everything we asked. If Reggie needed to walk up to her, she would just give him a little treat.

‘The same with Sam. He says he’s not a cat person, but he was probably one of the best people working with the cats. They loved him, went right up to him.’

David Beckham kicked off Comic Relief 2019 by sharing a special ‘Send It Like Beckham’ message
to viewers at home.

The ex-footballer ran through some of his past fashion disasters which he pegged as ‘sponsored’ activities for the charity, including his sarong in 1998 and 2003 when he stuck his hair in braids.

Beckham then recalled how he shared a bath with James Corden for Sport Relief in 2010, before explaining his stance for this year’s show.

‘This Red Nose Day, I’ve decided to keep it simple,’ Beckham said. ‘I’m going to stay at home, not do anything weird and watch the show and just donate.’

After encouraging viewers to donate, the camera pulled back to show Beckham’s lower half wrapped in a towel, as James Corden calls from upstairs.

‘David come on, the bath’s getting cold,’ Corden barks from upstairs. ‘I don’t want to miss Comic Relief.

‘I don’t care where you sit, just remember you’re doing my nails!’

When did the original Four Weddings And A Funeral come out?

The Oscar-nominated, Bafta and Golden Globe-winning Four Weddings And A Funeral premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 1994, with its general release in the UK in May that same year.

Not only was it an awards season success, but it also made a killing, with its $2.8million (£2.11 million) budget more than made back with a whopping $245.7million (£185.05million) earned at the box office.

Now the sequel – called One Red Nose Day and a Wedding – will see the likes of Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Rowan Atkinson, and Kristen Scott Thomas returning portray their old characters in this seminal British comedy.

Director Richard Curtis told the Radio Times: ‘It is actually meant to be a continuation of the film – not just a sketch – and on a couple of occasions there was genuine emotion and passion and even romance in the room.’

After having starred alongside of Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson for so many years, driving cars and generally getting up to mischief, May is branching out with a new series.

Our Man In… Japan will see May become a tourist on the first of what will eventually turn into a collection of Our Man In… adventures around the globe.

Here’s everything we know about the show so far…

When is Jame May’s Our Man In…Japan coming out?

An official release date for Our Man In… Japan has not yet been set, as the series is still in production.

The first season will run for six episodes and when it does come out – which we expect will be at some point in 2019 – you’ll be able to watch it on Amazon Prime.

The show was announced in early March, with May only setting off for Japan from Heathrow on 11 March.

On the subject, May said: ‘Japan is the most amazing place I’ve ever visited. Everything about it is a surprise: a boiled sweet, a bullet train, an unexpected ancient temple, and the challenge of eating a single edamame bean with chopsticks.’

‘It’s a class A stimulant for all the senses, and an etiquette minefield for the unwary,’ he added. ‘I intend to immerse myself in it completely, in the pursuit of enlightenment and life balance. And I bet the noodles will be fantastic.’

Meanwhile the show’s synopsis teases: ‘James can’t speak the language, he is clueless about Japanese etiquette, but at least he knows there’s a small tree called a banzai…’

What about The Grand Tour season four?

Never fear car fans, May’s involvement with Our Man In… Japan won’t impact his participation in the officially-confirmed The Grand Tour season four.

At the moment, The Grand Tour season three is still in full swing, with episode ten coming out today, 15 March, and dropping every Friday on Amazon Prime until 12 April.

Lenny Henry paid a special tribute to Louis Tomlinson who cancelled his Comic Relief 2019 performance in wake of his sister’s death.

The One Direction star’s sister Félicité died aged 18 after a suspected heart attack, and was found in her fourth-floor apartment in Earls Court, London.

Louis cancelled his performance on Comic Relief 2019 in wake of the tragic news, with charity creator Lenny Henry addressing his absence on the show.

Speaking on the show, Lenny said: ‘Now tonight we were due to be joined by a special member of the Comic Relief family. Louis Tomlinson wanted to be on this stage to help us, but the sudden and tragic loss of his sister Félicité obviously means he can’t be here.

‘The love and best wishes from all of us at Comic Relief go out to Louis and his family at this terrible time.’

Felicite’s boyfriend, Luke Storey, has since posted a heartbreaking tribute, writing how he believed it should have been him.

Louis also lost his mother Johannah back in December 2016 following a battle with leukemia, with the singer recently releasing new song Two Of Us in her honour.
