Toy Story fans were beside themselves when the fourth movie’s trailer dropped into our laps yesterday.

A number of teasers have, well, teased the much anticipated Disney-Pixar sequel over the past few months, including a Super Bowl spot which saw the introduction of Ducky and Bunny, voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

But now, we’ve got our first big look at the movie, which is set for release on 21 June.

And WTF is up with Andy, said everyone on the Internet.

The appearance of (who we believe to be) Andy, Woody’s beloved human, had many fans divided, scratching their heads and coming up with theories faster than you can say ‘to infinity and beyond’.

Worried punters took to social media almost immediately to quiz Pixar on their transformation of the spirited lad, with reactions ranging from ‘he’s had facial reconstruction’ to ‘goodbye crackhead Andy’.

Seems the first instalment of Andy, made with 1995’s CGI, is no longer tickling viewers. Go figure.

One was really tallying up the cosmetic surgery bills for Pixar as they wrote on Twitter: ‘Andy from Toy Story will go down in history as the youngest child on Earth to go through intense facial reconstruction surgery 4 times.’

Beauty bandits just wanted his bathroom picks as they added: ‘Andy be looking fresh 24 years later… can we get a skin care routine?’

While many were automatically assuming this was Andy, others put two and two together and came up with the premise this was actually Andy’s son we were seeing.

Which explains the massive difference in appearance…owing to the fact Andy is about 32 years old now.

‘This is not Andys son, in TS3 andy had a ton of posters on his wall and in this shot you can see one of andys old posters, why would he put up an old poster?’ one very clued in viewer noted. ‘Also take note of the red desk lamp that knocked buzz out of the window right next to it. [sic]’

Another added a plot twist as they said: ‘That’s Andy Jr. Andy got buzz for his 8th bday in ‘95 so Andy like 32 now straight up.’

(Many jumped into the comments to remind everyone Andy gave the toys away…)

Others longing for the saga to have ended in Toy Story 3, and prevent the madness and heartbreak that is sure to ensure in the fourth instalment, also added their thoughts.

‘Guys. Stop trying to sound smart by saying that this is purely an “upgrade” because of better tech in 2019,’ sad fan number 6437 wrote. ‘Andy looked like himself in Toy Story 3 so this is just an unnecessary redesign. I’m actually a little sad cuz I have nostalgic feelings for Andy’s design. That is not Andy.’

Look, best not get too upset now because you know the waterworks are going to come thick and fast come June upon its release.

There’s nothing super sad in the trailer, but the inclusion of God Only Knows by the Beach Boys makes us think we’re going to spend the whole movie sobbing.

Remember the furnace scene in Toy Story 3? We don’t trust the Pixar lot one iota. Arrested Development’s Tony Hale joins the cast as Forky, while Annie Potts returns as Bo Peep.

Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) and Joan Cusack (Jessie) are all back for the ride, while Keanu Reeves has joined the cast for an as yet unspecified role.

Toy Story 4 hits cinemas 21 June.

Victoria writer Daisy Goodwin has teased series four will be ‘an absolute humdinger’.

Daisy is hard at work writing the next lot of episodes with series three starting in just a few days.

She hinted that there might be a character death next series and added that viewers can look up what’s coming next for Victoria (Jenna Coleman) and Albert (Tom Hughes) online.

Speaking at a press screening, Daisy said: ‘[Series four] is going to be an absolute humdinger.

‘Somebody might die in it. So that is a great challenge but it’s such an amazing story and the fallout is fantastic.

‘You can Wikipedia it. Someone dies and someone new comes on the scene. I’m really enjoying it. I’m really into it.’

Daisy previously revealed that she already has Prince Albert’s death scene planned out.

Daisy knows how the show will say goodbye to the character, adding that there will be a lot more focus on his actions leading up to his passing.

She said: ‘I might have an idea. I might have.

‘Obviously…I don’t really think of it like that. I’m more interested in what he does – I mean the the run up to his death is fascinating to me. And tragic.

‘He will have to die at some point as much as I would like to keep him alive forever. At some point he will have to leave us.’

However, she revealed she won’t shy away from Victoria’s close relationship with John Brown, her personal attendant.

She went on: ‘It’s a gift for a dramatist, I mean Albert’s death and then Victoria’s reaction to that, and her coming back to life as it were with John Brown, I think will be fabulous.

‘Again, it’s been written about but never by a woman. And you’ve got to remember that when Albert dies Victoria is only 42.

‘You think of her as being ancient but she’s only 42. So the idea that she might still have needs, is something that…I’m not ready to write her off as an old widow at 42.’

R Kelly has returned to social media for the first time in three months, to wish his estranged daughter a happy birthday.

Joann Kelly, who now goes by the stage name of Buku Abi, distanced herself from her father in the wake of the sexual abuse allegations made against him in the docu-series Surviving R Kelly.

The 52-year-old has since been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

However, Kelly wasn’t put off by Joann’s statements this year calling him a ‘monster’, and took to Twitter on her 21st birthday.

The Ignition hitmaker filmed himself singing a vocal acrobatic-laden version of Happy Birthday for his daughter Joann, adding: ‘Happy birthday baby, daddy love you. I love you, no matter what, I love you so much. Bye, happy birthday.’

Many supporters of Kelly replied in his mentions, wishing him well and sharing happy birthday messages to Joann.

Joann is one of Kelly’s three children (along with brothers Robert Jr, 17, and Jay, 19) with ex-wife Andrea Lee, who has accused her ex of allegedly withholding child support payments.

And despite her dad’s birthday message, Joann confirmed back in January that she no longer speaks to the star, telling Good Morning Britain: ‘There is no conversation to be had. I’ll just leave it at that. My phone is just gonna keep ringing. It’s a no for me.’

She had previously posted a lengthy statement to Instagram following Surviving R Kelly, which brought to light a string of sexual abuse allegations against the singer.

Joann wrote: ‘To the people that feel I should be speaking up/against everything that is going on right now, I just want you all to understand that devastated in an understatement for all that I feel currently.

‘I pray for all the families and women who have been affected by my father’s actions. Trust, I have been deeply affected by all of this. However, it has been very difficult to process it all.’

She explained how she and her mother Andrea, along with her siblings Jay and Robert, have not seen or spoken to the Ignition singer for a number of years as part of a ‘healing process’.

‘I do not have a relationship with my father, nor do I speak on him or on his behalf.

‘My mother, siblings and I would never condone support or be a part of ANYTHING negative he has done or continues to do in his life.

‘The same monster you all confronting me about is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house. My choice to not speak on him and what he does is for my peace of mind. My emotional state and my healing.’

R Kelly has denied all allegations of sexual abuse.

The Bachelor UK fans have been desperate to know what is going on with Alex Marks and Alicia Oates since last week’s finale – because obviously.

We invested 10 days into Alex’s journey as he whittled 17 ladies down to just one, eventually declaring his love for Essex-born wonder woman, Alicia.

But what happened after the cameras stopped rolling? The couple went radio silent and one viewer claimed Alicia called The Bachelor a ‘t***’ once the finale had aired. It didn’t look good.

Thankfully, they appear to be pretty smitten as Alex swooned over Alicia while she started her first Instagram Live, but oddly said they can’t confirm their relationship status.

Speaking to his own 33,000 followers in a series of stories, the personal trainer grinned: ‘She’s being hounded with people asking if we’re still together and obviously I’ve been sent out of the room not to give the game away.

‘I’m earwigging on her convo with what I think is 600-700 people asking if we’re still together.’

Give the game away? JUST TELL US.

Although, what was pretty funny, Alex revealed that the pie, which Alicia whipped up the night they met and happily tucked into during a romantic night by the pool, was actually whipped up by a nearby bakery.

‘I was blown away for weeks,’ the lothario admitted. ‘Later on she told me she didn’t have time to cook it, production just bought her one. I felt lied to!’

On Saturday, two days after The Bachelor ended, Alicia finally broke her silence on social media – but didn’t give a lot away.

Alongside a video of the moment the pair first laid their eyes on each other, she wrote: ‘A very happy ending to what was the most incredibly challenging and emotional journey for us both.

‘We want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved. The crew in SA & Antigua, production & casting @ricochetcasting Warner Brothers @wbitvp @channel5_tv & of course @wrighty_ and most of all I would like to thank everyone who watched the show.

‘Your support has meant so much to me and I will always treasure each and every message I received.’

And then Alex suspiciously shared exactly the same message. Watch this space…

Lupita Nyong’o has been tipped to add another Oscar to her collection thanks to her starring role in Jordan Peele’s new film, Us.

And the actress had all eyes on her – and her epic, spike-covered jacket – at the premiere, in New York.

The 36-year-old opted for a plain white mini shirt dress for the bash, with a clear jacket covered in studded spikes over the top.

Honestly, we need this coat in our lives.

She completed the look with a silver Balmain belt and glitzy heels.

As much as we’re obsessed with this outfit, it probably isn’t the most practical thing in her wardrobe – imagine how many metal detectors she would set off…

The star was joined by her castmates, including Shahadi Wright Joseph and Winston Duke, at the premiere – but they might not have wanted to get too close to that jacket.

Lupita recently made headlines after opening up about her new film, Us, directed by Jordan.

She stars alongside onscreen husband Winston in the movie, which follows a married couple who take their two children to a holiday home, but it is broken into by home invaders who look exactly like them.

Chaos ensues and it gets seriously scary.

Us – which is out later this week – has been compared to Peele’s incredible debut, Get Out, but the actress wants everyone to know race isn’t the main factor in the new release.

‘With Get Out, I can only imagine there’s been an expectation that [Jordan’s] films would continue to investigate the race paradigm but in Us, race is not the monster,’ she told Vogue.co.uk.

‘It’s not the subject. Being black is unremarkable, it’s the norm.

‘The remarkable thing is having a black family at the centre of a film in the horror genre but as far as the story goes their blackness is not in question.

‘This is a family going through an extraordinary set of circumstances and there is a familiarity that goes beyond the paradigms of race to something more universal and relatable to everyone.’

The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco posed with a member of the Life In Pieces cast, but what does it mean?

Besides sharing a number of behind-the-scenes pictures on her own co-stars on Instagram, the 33-year-old actress’ latest post is a snap with Angelique Cabral, who plays Colleen Brandon Ortega in the CBS show.

Also in the backstage pic are Kaley’s husband Tank Cook, True Blood’s Ashley Jones, make-up artist to the rich and famous, Jamie Greenberg and her husband Joshua Greenberg.

Kaley captioned the photo: ‘Pwetty fwends and a few adorable hubbies in the background.’

But does Kaley’s friendship with Angelique mean there’s some scope for her to make an appearance in Life In Pieces when it returns for its fourth season next month?

The comedy centres around a huge family, consisting of three generations, and their life in Los Angeles, with each episode told as four short stories – one of each branch of the Short family.

So far there have been 18 recurring guest stars, ranging from Jordan Peele, to Martin Starr and Nick Offerman.

Last year it was confirmed that The Kissing Booth’s Joey King will be making her debut as a recurring character in the upcoming series, joining her real-life sister Hunter, who plays Clementine in the show.

Joey will take on the role of Morgan, a 17-year-old pregnant girl who plans on giving her baby to adoptive parents Colleen (Angelique Cabral) and Matt (Thomas Sadoski).

With The Big Bang Theory ending in just a few weeks time, we’re hoping to see Kaley pop up in the sister sitcom, on top of her voiceover and TV movie thriller project The Flight Attendant.

Brooklyn Beckham looked a little worse for wear this week, after he was spotted enjoying a raucous night out in London.

The photographer and son of Victoria and David was taking in the tunes of Electric Ballroom in Camden, where artist Yungblud was playing on Friday night.

At one stage he was captured taking five outside in the early hours of Saturday morning, surrounded by a couple curious clubgoers.

As two punters approached the lad to see if he needed a hand, sources suggested he had ‘lost’ his girlfriend Hana Cross.

‘He seemed to have lost his friends. He didn’t say very much. He was pretty drunk,’ a source told MailOnline.

‘The two people crouched down on the floor in the picture are my friends, who were trying to help him.’

It was claimed one of the helping hands in the photo offered to get him a taxi home, but 20-year-old Brooklyn ‘said he didn’t want one’ before wandering off.

A friend of the star’s added: ‘They got split up from Hana and they were concerned for her wellbeing. But they finally found her and all went home together’.

Ah, all’s well that ends well, eh?

Hana, 21, who was first linked to Brooklyn in December last year, appeared to share a shot of Brooklyn walking along the street wearing the same outfit to her Stories earlier this week, with a smooch emoji.

Maybe Brooklyn just needed a breather to react to the news his brother Romeo is reportedly dating Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown.

To be honest, we all needed to sit down and have a drink of water after hearing that.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s early days but they make a very sweet couple.’

The insider claims that Victoria, 44, has given the green light for the young romance, adding: ‘Posh has given it the seal of approval as she is a big fan of Millie’s.’

However, a source close to the Beckhams reportedly stated vaguely: ‘Romeo and Millie are hanging out.’

Romeo, 16, and Millie, 15, are believed to have met in December 2016 when the British actress presented him with an award at Unicef’s 70th anniversary gala.

The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs has thrown his support behind his fellow co-star Andrew Lincoln, claiming he deserves ‘way more recognition.’

When chatting about the amount of awards the show has received, the 19-year-old revealed how shocked he was to see that Andrew had barely won any.

Despite being nominated for 20 awards for his role as Rick Grimes, the 45-year-old has only ever been presented three – including the People’s Choice Award for Favorite TV Anti-Hero in 2014, and the Satellite Award for Best Television Ensemble in 2012.

The Carl star opened up about his views on this, and told Too Fab: ‘I had an audition with this name actor and I was looking through [Wikipedia] just to get more intimidated by the audition and I was like, ‘Oh my god, he has all these awards,’ and was like, wait a second, Andy doesn’t…

‘I went to look on his IMDB and it’s like nothing.’

The Walking Dead received a Golden Globe back in 2011 for Best Television Series – Drama, but Chandler believes Andrew should have been singled out for his portrayal of the much loved sheriff.

He continued: ‘Andy was on the same level, if not, definitely had way better stuff than the other actor. I honestly, I have no idea why Walking Dead was always shunned.

‘It always won the visual effects awards, which well deserved, they do an incredible job. But I feel like, especially Andy, deserved way more recognition than he got.’

Earlier this month, the rising DJ issued the same sentiment when addressing his fans on Twitter.

He told his 1.6million followers: ‘The fact that Andy (Rick) never even got as much as a nomination for an emmy or a golden globe shows you how flawed the academy is in this industry.

‘Same goes for the rest of the leading actors on TWD. so much groundbreaking work to not get recognised for whatever reason.’

The young actor continued: ‘Just to clarify, i’m not taking away from people who have been nominated for these awards – the majority of them are well deserved.

‘Just really unfortunate that these incredibly hard-working actors can’t get the recognition they deserve for working at a cultural-phenomenon level.’

It’s been nearly two years since Line Of Duty was last on our screens – but the long wait for a new series is almost over.

Yes, Line Of Duty season five will be with us very soon – with some new faces in the cast, a new plot to get tied up in knots over and undoubtedly a few shocking twists along the way.

The trailer has us all excited – but just what can we expect from the series itself?

Here’s what you need to know.

When does Line of Duty start on BBC One?

The new series is due to kick off on BBC One on Sunday 31 March at 9pm.

The BBC confirmed the start date earlier in the week together with a cryptic new poster which featured stars Adrian Dunbar, Martin Compston and Vicky McClure handcuffed together.

It came complete with the tagline ‘Crime needs an inside man.’

What’s the plot of Line of Duty season five?

According to the BBC, the plot will revolve around the aforementioned crime group, who have links with corrupt police officers – with the trailer hinted at a group of balaclava-clad criminals targeting police officers.

It’s a change of pace for the show, which in the past has focused on corrupt individuals – but this time will be turning its attentions to an organised crime group.

Showrunner Jed Mercurio has also hinted at things taking a more personal turn.

‘I want to look at the personal lives of all the regulars in series five,’ he said after series four.

‘They’ve taken a backseat in this series to Roz Huntley (Newton), so it would be good to explore that side of things a bit more. The regulars are definitely up for doing more.’

Who is in the cast this time?

Well main trio McClure, Compston and Dunbar are all back as DS Kate Fleming, DS Steve Arnott and Superintendent Ted Hastings are all back.

‘Thanks to such a fantastic response from the Line Of Duty audience, it feels extra special to be back filming series five,’ McClure explained. ‘I absolutely love working with Martin and Adrian, and Jed has without a doubt stepped it all up a gear this series. His writing just gets better and better. We have lots of great new cast members and I’m over the moon Stephen is on board, he’s a good friend and one of the finest actors. I’m already excited for the twists and turns to hit the screens.’

Supporting cast members Maya Sondhi, Polly Walker, Aiysha Hart, Andrea Irving and Tony Pitts will be back also – while the big new addition to the cast is actor Stephen Graham.

The This Is England star will play ‘Balaclava Man’ John Corbett in the series, accompanied by fellow cast newcomer Rochenda Sandall (Girlfriends) as Lisa McQueen.

What have the cast said about the series?

With the show notorious for delivering twists and edge of the seat moments, the cast members have admitted that even they’re never sure what’s going to happen – or if they’ll even survive to the end of the series.

‘People often think we must know in advance – from Jed or our agents – how many episodes we’ve been booked for in the next series,’ Dunbar explained.

‘But you don’t really know. You open the first script not knowing if it’s going to be “Jason Watkins Time.” ‘And, I’ll tell you, the more you have to do in early episodes, the more fearful you are that it’s building up to you going out with a bang.

‘We’re all in it together until Jed pulls the trigger.’

Filming on the new series kicked off in August, with cast members teasing the action on set.

Compston posted the script’s cover page on Instagram, telling his followers: ‘Even better on the second read. Mr Mercurio has done it again. Gonna be some ride can’t wait to pull the waistcoat on again.’

After returning from a tropical holiday in Thailand and missing last week’s day in court, Katie Price has finally fronted up to her hearing.

The 40-year-old wore a whole lot of fur as she strutted into Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning alongside a close friend, as the mother-off-five faced two counts of using threatening, abusive, words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Katie has previously missed a court hearing while on her Thai holiday with boyfriend Kris Boyson, the reality star failing to appear before a judge.

The reality star kept her head down and her game face on as she held onto her phone, keeping warm in a black and tan fur coat and black fur hat. She finished off her courtroom look with a pair of leather-look trousers.

As she walked into the court house, she said to waiting photographers: ‘You must be bored of me.’

Pricey is accused of screaming ‘are you enjoying f***ing my husband?’ at ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s girlfriend Michelle Pentecost outside the gates of their children’s school.

The charge sheet for Katie’s court appearance accuses her of using ‘threatening or abusive words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress’.

Michelle, whose son attends the same school as Katie and Kieran’s kids Jett, five, and Bunny, four, claims that Katie caused a scene by allegedly screaming at her: ‘Are you enjoying f**king my husband?’

Kieran’s girlfriend reported the incident to police and two more parents reportedly complained about Katie to the authorities for shouting and swearing at them.

District Judge Amanda Kelly previously slammed the reality star for missing last week’s court date, saying: ‘I believe she hasn’t turned up today. She has something better to do.

‘This demonstrates a lack of respect for the court process.’

The judge said she was ‘tempted’ to hear the case in Katie’s absence, but instead adjourned the hearing to today, after the reality star said she was unavailable until the 18 March.

Yesterday Katie’s boyfriend Kris attendedMedway Magistrates’ Court in Chatham, Kent, as he answered a charge of using threatening behaviour towards a policeman.

Kris was accused of using threatening behaviour or language against a police officer on 9 October 2018, after Katie, 40, crashed her car following her boyfriend’s 30th birthday party.

He pleaded not guilty and will face trial on 31 May

Jordan Peele has had all eyes on him thanks to his stunning debut, Get Out, released in 2017.

And his latest offering, Us, proves the attention is more than merited.

The film starts out in 1986, with a young Adelaide Wilson (Madison Curry) enjoying a family day to the boardwalk in Santa Cruz. Knowing this is a Peele film, your eyes are everywhere, scanning every fairground ride for a clue as to what is to come, much like the youngster walking around, taking everything in. She eventually wanders away from her dad and finds herself staring at something odd in a house of mirrors.

Cut to present day and a grown-up Adelaide (Lupita Nyong’o) who is making her way down to the same area, along with her husband Gabe (Wilson Duke), daughter Zora (Shahadi Wright), and son Jason (Evan Alex). Seems like an idyllic beach trip, so why is she so worried?

Even though we’re not shown exactly what left the youngster so shaken all those years ago, we can see how the memory has stayed with her – to the point that she’s reluctant to let her children out of her sight as they spend an afternoon by the sea.

Adelaide’s fears come to fruition soon after, when the family are met by their doppelgängers – creepy, feral ‘tethered’ twins who manage to barge their way into their summer home and wreak havoc.

Duke, Wright and Alex take on their second roles – as their tethered twins – so well that you’ll be double-taking to see the subtle differences, but it’s Nyong’o’s portrayal of her ‘other’ that steals the show, with her guttural croaks and unsettling gestures giving you goosebumps.

What Peele manages to do so well is leave you breathless with sheer terror one second, and unable to stifle a laugh the next, and this is where Duke comes into his own as the bumbling, but well-meaning dad.

Children Wright and Alex land their fair share of giggles, most notably not having a clue what Home Alone is, and even Elisabeth Moss – who is only on screen for a matter of minutes – has her comedic moments.

It was let down slightly by the slow pace of the first act, but that changes with six words that will leave you shuffling uncomfortably in your seat: ‘There’s a family in our driveway’.

Long after you’ve caught your breath again, you might also be left with some niggling questions that the film – at 116 minutes – failed to tie up with a bow, which, let’s face it, is probably what the director wanted.

One thing is for definite, Us is a film that will stay with you for days.

Us is released in UK cinemas on 22 March.

Fireman Sam has been accused by firefighters of using ‘outdated language’ as the ‘sexism’ row around the kids’ TV show continues.

The programme about ‘hero next door’ Fireman Sam has been making headlines in the wake of a campaign claiming it puts women off joining the fire service.

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan waded into the row, as he has been all week, tweeting that any women who took issue with Fireman Sam ‘probably don’t have what it takes to fight fires’.

Instead of letting the outspoken host scream into the void, the London Fire Brigade shot back on Twitter, highlighting a young girl who felt she couldn’t become a firefighter because ‘children’s TV continues to use outdated language’.

They added: ‘If you respect our work, get our name right’.

When Piers was told that he ‘was not well placed to decide who’s “got what it takes”‘, Piers fired back: ‘Only 7% of firefighters are women. So your gender-war recruitment strategy hasn’t worked. Maybe go back to celebrating ‘firewomen’ and calling them that…’

Female senior fire officer Alex Johnson, who is heading a social media campaign to get women to become firefighters, has said: ‘Children’s shows like Fireman Sam don’t help to break down stereotypes either.Most of the job is nothing like it is portrayed. We do community and youth engagement work, where we need to be seen to be representative of the population.

‘Women and people from different ethnic backgrounds are simply not considering being a firefighter because they are not seeing themselves represented.’

A spokeswoman from Mattel, which represents the Fireman Sam brand, said: ‘Fireman Sam is a much loved and iconic brand and we are constantly evolving to make sure that we stay true to the show’s heritage, as well as representing the world that children see around them today.

‘The team are always referred to throughout the show as firefighters except Sam, whose title has not evolved in his role as the show’s namesake. We recognise the need to stay relevant and we continue to evaluate the show to ensure Sam remains an aspirational hero for generations of pre-schoolers.’

It comes after kids’ cartoon Peppa Pig was called out for including the word ‘fireman’ in one of their old episodes.

GameCentral analyses Google’s new streaming platform and tries to predict whether Stadia is the future of gaming… or its doom.

When a company as big as Google gets involved in the games industry you expect it to make an impact. And now that we know what Stadia is and how it works it may well end up being one of the most important video game announcements of the modern era.

But as ever, it’s not necessarily what a company says that is the most important thing but what it purposefully doesn’t say… and the language it uses to describe some of the details.

Stadia is a streaming platform that promises to run games ‘up to’ 4K resolution with an ‘up to’ 60fps frame rate, and yet even some of the on-stage demos seemed to show flickers of latency issues.

Many also missed – because Google purposefully gabbled out the information – that at launch Stadia will not run on any smartphone or tablet that isn’t a Google Pixel model. PCs only require the Chrome web browser but that’s not the case for anything else, with a TV also requiring a Chromecast dongle.

But the most important details weren’t mentioned at all: the price and, most vitally of all, the games.

Apart from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which was used during the Project Stream experiment last year, the only new game that was confirmed for Stadia was Bethesda’s Doom Eternal – no footage of which was ever shown.

Ex-Ubisoft producer Jade Raymond was present to announce Google’s new first party game development business, but no indication was given as to what they were working on, how many studios they had, or their relationship with third party publishers and developers.

Although they did something similar for middleware software like Unreal Engine and Havok, there wasn’t even the usual wall of company logos that accompanies almost every new console release – even ones from Nintendo.

For as far as anyone outside Google knows Jade Raymond was only appointed this month, and while that’s probably not true there was no evidence either way.

As slick and exciting as the presentation was it was curiously reminiscent of the disastrous unveiling of the Xbox One, even down to the presence of frontman Phil Harrison and the lack of any input from Japanese companies.

Leaving out games was obviously purposeful, with a brief promise to show more in the summer, but is that because there’s nothing to show or because they haven’t made deals with other companies yet? Or both?

A video games platform, whether it be a physical console or otherwise, is just a means to an end. You don’t play consoles or the PC, you play games. And without games they’re about as much fun as a DVD player with no disc in.

The other big problem is that we have no idea how much Stadia will cost. More than that there was no clue given as to how anything will be paid for. Some kind of subscription service seems inevitable – Google has suggested they want to be the Netflix of gaming, after all – but how much will it be and can you buy games individually at all?

If you can’t then you’ll essentially just be renting the games you play, never owning them. A prospect that concerns plenty of gamers already with the current state of digital ownership. And what about modding? Streaming games may, hopefully, mean no cheating but will it turn games into untouchable monoliths that can never be altered or improved by their players?

Everyone wants to know how much the subscriptions will cost, or if you’ll have to pay more on top for big name games, but there’s also major questions concerning the cost of having a broadband connection fast enough to run Stadia properly.

According to Google’s own figures 4K gaming requires download speeds of around 25 Mbps, which is roughly twice as much as the average American household. The average UK household tends to be higher but given current online games can work relatively happily at as low as 3 Mbps, many people are going to find themselves either unable to run Stadia or looking at an expensive upgrade to their Internet service.

But it’s not just how much Stadia will cost for gamers to use but how developers are expected to make any money from it. Although Google’s presentation was clearly addressing the whole world, they were actually at GDC (Game Developers Conference) talking primarily to an audience of developers.

Some, such as No More Robots’ Mike Rose, have already voiced their concern that the prevailing logic for companies running subscription services is that they don’t pay the developer at all for their game. Instead developers are paid based on how much time people spend playing their game. That’s fine for well known and advertised games but considering how much difficulty indie games have getting noticed at the moment it could be ruinous for smaller studios.

And even for big companies it’s likely to encourage the use of microtransactions to make extra money on top of what is, or isn’t, guaranteed by Stadia’s basic service. An unwelcome intrusion given the controversies microtransactions have already caused with paid-for games and their malign influence on game design.

But here's the catch:

None of these platforms want to pay anything upfront. Instead, they want to pay us "per number of hours" that their users play our games, compared to how many hours their users are playing games overall. Which is obviously going to be *shit* for indie devs

Despite Google’s hour-long presentation none of the most important questions about Google Stadia were answered or in most cases even mentioned. That includes the most important one of all: does it work? Something which is impossible to answer until ordinary people are able to test it at home.

Although perhaps that’s not as important a detail as you might assume. Consumer technology, particularly of the last decade, has shown that convenience always trumps performance and the majority of Stadia users probably won’t care if games hiccup during play, or have an uneven frame rate or resolution, as long as they’re quick, easy, and cheap to play.

By that same logic there’s a huge question of what to do about controls when using a smartphone or tablet. Nobody’s going to wander around with a joypad in their pocket, waiting to play, so are these games going to have alternative touchscreen controls as well? And will the need to have such an option mean future games are designed with that in mind, forcing developers to simplify control schemes just so they’ll work on a phone?

There is a lot to be excited about with Stadia. The social features were highly impressive and championing couch co-op was a very welcome surprise. And while curiously it wasn’t mentioned at all, the ability to create multiple instances of the same game, all running at high resolution, seems like it could revolutionise VR headsets.

Streaming clearly is the future of gaming, but not all futures are utopian

Until Google provide more information it’s impossible to evaluate Stadia as an idea, let alone a service. But it is going to be fascinating to see what Microsoft’s response to it will be. As while they are also planning their own streaming service – Project xCloud – they’ve been careful to insist that console gaming is not dead and will always be the preferred means of playing for anyone but casual gamers.

Both Sony and Nintendo have already experimented with streaming tech and while they haven’t specifically commented it seems fair to assume they’re of a similar view. So will Stadia be the outlier in the future games market or will it evolve to become the dominant means of consuming games?

The games industry has a history of adopting technology too early and poisoning the well for years to come, motion controls being the most obvious example. And as huge a company as Google is that hasn’t helped YouTube Red, YouTube Music, or Google Play offer any meaningful challenge to market leaders Spotify and Netflix.

Google also has a history of giving up surprisingly easy on initiatives that don’t yield immediate results, and it remains to be seen just how committed they will be if Stadia is not an instant hit. Streaming clearly is the future of gaming, but not all futures are utopian. Google will certainly be remembered as the company that ushered in a new era of video games, but how much they succeed beyond that remains to be seen.

Millie Bobby Brown may be dating Romeo Beckham, but she’s a long way from her rumoured boo.

The Stranger Things actress was pictured taking a break from filming in Australia, after reports broke that she is dating one of the Beckham boys.

Millie, 15, is currently filming Godzilla Vs. King Kong on the Gold Coast, and enjoyed a few hours off as she chilled with her family.

Dressed in a grey bandeau top, loose fitting trousers and flip-flops, the actress was seen carrying a plastic bag of groceries and a smoothie as she chatted with a friend.

Millie then hopped behind the wheel of a golf buggy – despite 16 being the legal age to drive a buggy in Australia – to ferry her family around the Sanctuary Cove resort.

The British teenager is one of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood right now thanks to her breakthrough role as Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things.

She will return as the young girl with psychokinetic abilities in the third series of Stranger Things, which is set to air on 4 July, and we will see the progression of Eleven’s sweet romance with Mike.

But in real life, Millie’s affections apparently lay with a member of the Beckham dynasty.

The actress is dating Romeo, 16, who she originally met three years ago, and it’s said she has mum Victoria’s approval.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s early days but they make a very sweet couple. Posh has given it the seal of approval as she is a big fan of Millie’s.’

Millie met the Burberry model in 2016 after she presented Romeo with an award at Unicef’s 70th anniversary gala.

Prior to dating Romeo, Millie had a romance with singer Jacob Sartorious, with the young couple splitting last July after seven months together.

Paris Jackson made headlines earlier this week when it was claimed the star had been rushed to hospital following an attempt to take her own life.

But, after denying the reports, the 20-year-old has since been spotted out with her boyfriend Gabriel Glenn.

The pair appeared to be in high spirits as they wrapped their arms around each other.

However, the model was seemingly distracted part way through the night, as she took a phone call while hanging out with her beau.

Sporting a pair of fluffy bunny ears, Paris kind of gave away that she was heading over to Los Angeles in order to watch her godfather Macaulay Culkin record his podcast, which if you haven’t guessed already, is called Bunny Ears.

Paris has had a turbulent couple of weeks after Leaving Neverland aired – a two-part documentary that raises new child sexual abuse allegations against Michael Jackson.

Following its release, a number of reports were published regarding the star, claiming she had tried to take her own life, refused rehab, and had fallen asleep at the wheel of her car.

Yet, despite the rumours, Paris has shown her resilience and has taken to social media where she has denied all of the claims.

Just last night, fresh reports in TMZ claimed those around her are encouraging her to ‘get help.’

However, Paris shunned the speculation and tweeted: ‘They didn’t get the crazy reaction they wanted from the doc, and a chill, mellow reaction doesn’t sell stories so why not lie and create a story that does sell ? pathetic’.

She has previously branded the publication ‘liars’ after a story broken that she had been taken to hospital.

They’d claimed police had responded to a call at Paris’s LA home at 7.30am on Saturday, and said that she had attempted suicide in ‘direct response’ to allegations in the Leaving Neverland documentary.

In response to the accusations, Paris wrote: ‘Lies lie lies omg and more lies.’

A source to Metro.co.uk has stated Paris is ‘resting at home’ after having an accident which needed medical treatment.

‘Paris had an accident this morning that required medical treatment. She is currently resting at home and doing fine.’

Priyanka Chopra cannot put a step wrong when it comes to her wardrobe, and we are living for it.

The Quantico actress had us all seeing spots as she headed out in New York on Tuesday, ahead of her appearance on The View.

She opted for a long-sleeved sheer, polka dot dress for the day, complete with frilly details on the skirt, over the top of a plain black bodysuit.

The 36-year-old scraped her hair up into a high bun, finishing the look with black tie-up heels and sunglasses.

Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis are back for a fourth season of their hit TV show Billions, which is due to drop very soon indeed.

In Billions, Giamatti plays Chuck Rhoades, an attorney who takes no prisoners and can’t stand white collar corruption.

He stars opposite Lewis as Bobby Axelrod, a charitable but corrupt billionaire hedge fund manager on whom Rhoades sets his sights and tries to destroy in court.

Other stars who feature in the show include Maggie Siff who plays psychiatrist Wendy Rhoades, and David Costabile as Mike Wagner.

As we ready ourselves for another season of financial drama of the highest order, here’s everything you need to know about how to tune in to episodes both old and new.

When is season four of Billions coming out in the UK?

The first episode of Billions season four is airing on Sky Atlantic on Wednesday 20 March at 9pm.

Look out for spoilers though, because episode one already premiered in America on Showtime on March 17.

Goths of the world, rejoice – The Cure’s 14th studio album is imminent.

Robert Smith has confirmed that the band has completed their first album in 10 years – signalling that new material could be performed during their Glastonbury headlining set.

Appearing on The John Maytham Show on CapeTalk, the 59-year-old said: ‘It doesn’t really feel like I’ve been doing it for that long.

‘We’ve enjoyed it and we’ve just recorded a new album for the first time in 10 years.’

The frontman added that he was ‘still doing this for the right reasons’.

Smith previously teased the first album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream in December, saying on SiriusXM: ‘Seeing all these new bands—I’ve listened to some of these bands and met so many of them that it’s kind of inspired me to do something new.

‘So, yes, we’re going in about six weeks time to finish off what will be our first album in more than a decade. It’s very exciting times for us all around.’

New album aside, it’s already a big year for The Cure.

They will close out this year’s Glastonbury Festival as they join headliners Stormzy and The Killers (and Janet Jackson, if you take her Photoshopped poster’s word for it).

As well as Glasto, The Cure are playing Pinkpop, Nova Rock Festival, Rock Werchter, Exit, Roskilde, Nos Alive, Mad Cool, Flow Festival and Rock En Seine.

And next week, the Lullaby singers will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

At the ceremony on 29 March, they will be inducted alongside Janet Jackson, Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music and The Zombies, which sounds like our perfect festival line-up tbh.

While everyone is not-so-mildly going wild over the return of Ariana Grande to the tour scene, some punters have been left a little puzzled by the singer’s merch.

We can never be truly happy with what we’ve got, can we?

After she returned to the stage to kick off her Sweetener tour in Albany, New York, on Monday night, Twitter was a mish mash of yays and nays.

Mostly the nays were to do with Ari’s design team’s seemingly lacklustre attempt at merchandise.

Some were definitely picking up what she was putting down, while others wondered whether the design had hastily been put together in a minute’s Paint job.

Ah, Paint. Bring Paint back, everyone.

Anyway, while some hoodies and tees were pretty cool, sporting shots of the singer on the front and a long list of the tour dates on the back, others were miffed at the offer.

When prices ranged from a reported $40-$75, we can understand how some may not be too impressed by the simple white top with an opaque blue mark on it that looks more like a stain than anything artistic.

Or, as some were calling it o Twitter, a ‘d**k stain’. Oh dear.

Some were even so outraged by the sartorial statement they’d even dropped the ‘b word’ – that’s right, some were thinking of boycotting upcoming gigs because the merch wasn’t worth it.

You all do realise why you go to gigs, right? It’s not to go shopping…

‘Someone said ariana’s merch looks like the bootleg merch that gets sold outside the venue before the show,’ one wrote, giving us all point for pause.

Another’s comment was fighting words: ‘Ok so I kinda want Ariana’s sweetener tour to come to Australia but also the merch looks kinda sh*t so I’m not too sure now.’

But hey, some ruddy loved the output – which, let’s be honest, will be put up online for a exorbitant amount now everyone’s talking about it.

‘Everyone is so Ehhh about Ariana’s Tour Merch…. meanwhile, I’m over here, ready to get the rest of what@I want cause I Love It! [sic]’ one very keen fan put forth.

And away from whatever stupidly expensive tee you might get your hands on, by all accounts the show was a banger – with the singer opening with a tribute to her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died in September.

Fans noticed that moments before she took to the stage in New York for the first night of her Sweetener tour at the Times Union Center Mac’s music was playing.

One fan took to Twitter to share the sweet news as they wrote: ‘Ariana grande is playing Mac Miller right before her opening song for sweetener tour rn and my heart can’t handle it SO MANY TEARS.’

More speechless, another added: ‘Sitting in our seats at the venue for ariana’s first concert of this tour and the venue starts playing a mac song…[sic]’

Steve Bland and Simon Thomas discussed how their kids are coming to terms with their mothers deaths on Wednesday’s This Morning.

Simon lost his wife Gemma in 2017 to a rare and aggressive form of cancer just days after she was diagnosed, leaving behind eight-year-old son Ethan, meanwhile Steve lost his wife Rachael after a two-year battle with cancer, leaving behind three-year-old son Freddie.

Joining This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Steve explained that his son doesn’t quite understand where his mum is, saying: ‘He asks quite often where he is physically. He doesn’t really understand it.’

However, Steve said that explaining what death is easier with a younger child, adding: ‘It’s easier to explain to a three-year-old. You can explain things reasonably simply.’

Rachael managed to publish a book before she passed away, titled For Freddie: A Mother’s Final Gift To Her Son, which is dedicated to her young boy.

‘It was just amazing that she was able to do that,’ commented Steve.

Simon, who made his first appearance with new girlfriend Derrina Jebb last week, explained how his son’s memories of his mum are starting to fade.

‘That is so hard to hear,’ he said. ‘I can’t have a book like this, but I have videos, pictures, memories I can write down.’

Naturally, viewers were heartbroken to hear the men speak about their loss and how it’s been effecting their families, with one writing: ‘In floods of tears watching this, holding my four-year-old tight. Simon and Steve are so brave.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘My heart hurts watching.’
