Will Smith reunites with Joe Pantoliano on Bad Boys For Life set – and things do not look good

Will Smith and his long time Bad Boys For Life co-star Joe Pantoliano have reunited on set – and things do not look good.

Pictures of the pair have emerged, which show them filming some kind of epic action scene while out in Miami.

And although we’re unsure what is actually going on, it appears Joe’s character Captain Howard has met a tragic end.

In the snaps, the 67-year-old can be seen lying on the ground covered in fake blood, after seemingly being shot.

Will, who plays Mike Lowrey in the thriller, is crouched by his side with his hands around his pal’s neck searching for a pulse.

We can’t help but think that it’s highly possible Howard has been killed off, as he laid motionless on the floor.

But despite the drama, and possible sad ending, it seems the duo were in high spirits as they embraced each other at the end of their shoot.

In the upcoming movie, the boys will be joined by the likes of Vikings star Alexander Ludwig, Riverdale’s Charles Melton and Vanessa Hudgens who starred in high School Musical.

Will, 50, recently treated the new arrivals to an abundance of gifts, and Alexander shared his treats on Instagram.

Uploading a picture of the presents, the 26-year-old, who played Bjorn in the History Channel hit, wrote: ‘Working with @willsmith and @martinlawrence is like working with Santa clause….except they can rap better.’

‘He added: ‘Seriously the generosity on this set is overwhelming. Every other day there’s a new gift in my trailer….it’s enough of a gift to get to learn from the best.

‘Beyond grateful to be included in the fam. Thank you guys for making it such an incredible experience. #badboysforlife.’

With Vikings wrapped up and the final season expected to drop this year, all traces of Bjorn are out of the window.

History confirmed the epic will close after its sixth series and the cast are now lapping up the offers, which have been coming their way thick and fast.

While Alexander is about to start in one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year, Katheryn Winnick is taking over Netflix in both the film Polar and her new series, Assassins Wu.

Clive Standen has also revealed that he’s joined the cast of a new movie, Council of Dads, with his Vikings co-stars being among the first to pass on their congrats.

Oti Mabuse says it’s not up to her to call for same-sex couples on Strictly Come Dancing (Picture: BBC)

Oti Mabuse is leaving it to the powers that be at Strictly Come Dancing to decide if there will be same-sex couples on the show this year.

Oti was cautious about weighing in on the debate because she doesn’t want to ‘get people excited’ about something that might not happen.

She told Metro.co.uk: ‘I wish I was a part of production! It’s not really my area.

‘I don’t really know. We have a new series producer this year, Sarah James, and this will be the first time that she’s stepped into that role.

‘You never know. You never know what could happen. I don’t wanna say anything and jinx it and then people get excited.

‘Let’s see. It will be her opportunity to show off where she intends to take this show.’

The 2018 series of Strictly did feature same-sex pairings as professional dancers AJ Pritchard and Gorka Marquez, Neil Jones and Kevin Clifton, Katya Jones and Nadiya Bychkova, and Aljaz Škorjanec and Pasha Kovolev took to the floor together.

Meanwhile judge Craig Revel Horwood has agreed with the idea, saying: ‘I’m totally for it. I don’t see why a woman can’t dance with a woman and a man can’t dance with a man.’

Oti took on a new challenge this year, choreographing for the theatre for the first time.

She worked her magic on the West End show Ain’t Misbehavin’, a production that celebrates legendary jazz musician Fats Waller, and admitted she struggled to juggle it with being a dance captain on The Greatest Dancer at the same time.

‘It was amazing but it was a lot of hard work,’ Oti said.

Oti with Ain’t Misbehavin’ director Tyrone Huntley (Picture: Supplied)

‘Seeing the show come together, first of all it was a relief that they got it together and were able to do it in such a short amount of time. It exceeded my expectations.

‘I remember crying at the end of the musical because it was so beautiful, and my husband was like: “You did it babe!” and it was so exciting and everyone was in high spirits.

‘To come in and work with people who aren’t professional dancers, and who don’t really dance for a living, and then to go back to the concept of Strictly of actually teaching them, was fresh and new.’

Ain’t Misbehavin’ runs at Southwark Playhouse from 19 April.

Katie Piper has admitted that her secret crush is Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.

‘He’s my secret crush, yeah I really fancy him,’ she told Andi Peters on the first episode of new podcast, Refuse To Snooze, a five-part series with aspirational and motivating guests.

‘Well it’s not that secret,’ she added, and a shocked Andi admitted that he could understand the attraction.

‘He’s a really great character, he’s a great person, authoritative and he has ambition,’ said Andi with Katie adding: ‘He’s intelligent, I am really attracted to him.’

Katie’s not the only women to have branded Piers intelligent though, as his co-host Susanna Reid even went so far as to call her controversial pal a genius’.

The pair have been in a number of heated debates about certain celebrity drama and, well – Brexit – but despite the father-of-four pretty much saying what he thinks, it seems his right-hand gal is totally on board with him.

Chatting to GQ Magazine, the 48-year-old spoke about her friendship with her fellow journalist and how she has been ‘empowered’ by him.

She told the publication: ‘You have to understand his sense of humour. If I feel it’s too much I’ll say, “Pipe down, grandad!” or if he’s being pathetically ignorant on a no deal Brexit.’

She added: ‘I’ve had to get stronger.

‘But I don’t think you see a browbeaten woman next to him; you see someone who gives as good as she gets.’

A pair of sisters revealed to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on Tuesday’s This Morning that they holiday in Gambia because of their love for Bob Marley and reggae.

Jackie Simpson and Julie Ramsey have visited the west-African country 15 times in the last eight years

Explaining to the presenters why she originally chose to go to the destination, dubbed ‘a real-life Tinder dream for geriatrics by Bake Off’s Prue Leith, Jackie said: ‘Well, we’ve been to loads of different countries and I thought I’d try something different and this is different.

‘The reason I wanted to go was because I like reggae music and Bob Marley and it’s just great.’

Julie is a fan of reggae music (Picture: ITV)

This off the cuff comment didn’t go unnoticed by viewers at home, who pointed out that Jamaica might have been a better choice of holiday hot spot given Jackie’s tastes.

‘Went Gambia cos she likes reggae music? Should’ve gone Jamaica, luv,’ wrote one on Twitter, with another adding: ‘Did I just hear that #ThisMorning? Perhaps some cultural training and geography lessons are in order.’

Twitter did their thing (Picture: Twitter)

The sisters also warned that holidaymakers should be cautious of Gambian men because ‘they want to get to England.’

‘The ones I’ve met I’ve just to ld them straight,’ said Jackie. ‘You know, “You’ve got no chance of getting to England.” I’ve had a good relationship with two of them.’

They added that as soon as they got to the airport that young Gambian men would make a fuss over them, saying: ‘I went to have a dress made and the tailor said, “Will you marry me?” I just found it funny.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.

Amanda Holden has been celebrating the success of Britain’s Got Talent, after the show scored its highest ratings to date.

And while fans have been left crying at the numerous acts who have passed through the stage, the 48-year-old has been basking in the sun during her trip to Dubai.

Boasting her sunny vacation, the mother-of-two has not shied away from posting those bikini snaps on Instagram.

When sat next to the pool, the star instantly went into influencer mode and posed in a rather uncomfortable looking position in order to show off her leopard print two piece.

In the caption, she wrote to her one million followers: ‘Another tough day by the #pool @ritzcarltondubai #Dubai #RCmemories ♥️🍸🤣#bikini @melissaodabash.’

Earlier on in the week, Amanda had posted an almost identical snap of her by the pool – only this time she was holding a glass of bubbly.

Alongside the picture, she thanked her fans for helping the ITV competition show reach new heights this year.

‘Thankyou for making @BGT the highest rated show of 2019 #cheers #bikini,’ the judge wrote.

This year’s BGT launch saw Ant McPartlin reunite with his presenting sidekick Declan Donnelly for the first time in 12 months after he took a break following his drink-driving arrest last year.

A spokesperson for BGT confirmed the staggering ratings, which saw a peak audience of 9.7 million during its first episode.

The star was recently celebrating the success of BGT (Picture: noholdenback/Instagram)

They said: ‘BGT pulled in an average of 8.3 million, an audience share of 45 per cent and a peak audience of 9.7 million last night making it the most watched show of the year so far.’

‘It took the crown from Line of Duty, which launched last Sunday, which drew an average audience of 7.8 million.

The rep continued: ‘It drew the same average audience as last year but was up 100,000 in peak and was up four share points.

‘It drew a whopping 62 per cent share of all 16 to 34s watching TV, up a huge six share points on last year.’

Britain’s Got Talent airs Saturdays at 7.30pm on ITV.

James Cracknell denies Boat Race caused split from wife Beverley Turner

James Cracknell has denied that training for the University Boat Race wrecked his marriage, saying his rowing career ‘pays the bills’.

The 46-year-old became the oldest ever winner of the Boat Race with Cambridge over the weekend, which he was able to compete in after enrolling in a masters degree in human evolution at the university.

However, in the wake of his win, James’ estranged wife Beverley Turner claimed that his training contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.

Explaining to the Times that she had chosen to have their three children watch the Boat Race at home, rather than going to watch it live, Beverly said: ‘The kids needed to see that this enormous family sacrifice wasn’t entirely in vain.

‘James has spoken publicly about this latest feat, demonstrating to his children that you can do anything you set your mind to.

‘He won’t mind me admitting I consider that b******s. I wouldn’t want my children to view such an exit from familial responsibilities as something to aspire to.’

Cracknell, however, claimed this was ‘exaggerated’, although added that he has realised there’s ‘much more to life than mucking about in a rowing boat’ now that the race is over.

The double Olympic gold medallist told the Telegraph: ‘There’s this perception that I’ve left my family to go off to Cambridge, selfishly, but that’s a little exaggerated. And while yes, it may seem selfish, it also pays the bills.’

Adding of his separation from Beverley after 17 years of marriage, the rower said: ‘We’ve been together for 20 years and I challenge any couple who have been together that long to say they’re the same people they were when they met.

‘Marriage is complicated and hard, whether you’re an athlete or not. I know my behaviour is probably quite frustrating to live with, but I hope I have some good qualities too.’

Beverley, 45, called James’ Boat Race ambitions – which saw him leave the family home to live in Cambridge – ‘an absolute dereliction of parenting and marital duty’; however, said there was no anomosity between them.

She also discussed Cracknell’s brain injury, which he sustained in 2010 after the wing mirror of a truck hit him while he cycled through Arizona, crushing his frontal lobes onto his skull.

Such a brain injury can cause inability to read emotions, irascibility, laughing or crying out of context and arguing, and while Beverley said the personality change was drastic, it was not ‘unprecedented’.

She wrote: ‘When James spent 50 days rowing across the Atlantic with Ben Fogle in 2005, he failed to discuss his plans with me in any detail despite us having a two-year-old son.

‘The difference in 2018 was whether I could reasonably live with these exhausting, self-centred pursuits for the rest of my life. I prefer the journey to the destination . . . James is all about the target.’

The couple, who are parents to Croyde, 14, Kiki, 10, and eight-year-old Trixie, separated last year, and announced their split just days before the Boat Race.

Their statement read: ‘We can confirm that sadly we separated last year.

‘Together, we remain committed to our amazing children, they are our absolute priority and wish people to be kind and mindful of this.’

Killing Eve is heading for a third series – but who is in the second? (Picture: BBC)

It looks as though Killing Eve is going to be with us for a while yet after the show was renewed for a third seasonright after the second one began.

Series two of the much-lauded show kicked off in the US on BBC America on Sunday night – although we still have to wait a while to see it here – with things picking up where the first series left off.

Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are of course back in the series as Eve Polastri and assassin Villanelle – who was stabbed by Eve at the end of season one only to go missing.

But who else has joined them in season two? Here’s what you need to know.

Who is in the cast of Killing Eve season two?

As well as Sandra and Jodie, a bunch of familiar faces are back in season two.

Fiona Shaw returns to the cast as Carolyn Martens, head of the Russian wing of MI6 – with her close relationship to Villanelle’s ‘boss’ Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) being revealed at the end of series one.

You can also expect to see Owen McDonnell back as Niko Polastri, Eve’s husband – with the couple’s marriage on the rocks at the end of the last series.

Sean Delaney also returns as ex-hacker Kenny – who was revealed to be Carolyn’s son in the last season.

It’s unclear however whether Kim Bodnia will be returning as Konstantin, after being shot by Villanelle in the season one finale.

Although we were told he had died, it didn’t actually happen onscreen – sparking speculation that he could make an unexpected comeback too.

Who is new to the cast?

Nina Sosanya
Nina Sosanya is among the new series’ new arrivals (Picture: Getty Images)

You can expect to see a few familiar faces heading Killing Eve’s way when the series reaches these shores.

Among those are actor Julian Barratt, best known for appearing alongside Noel Fielding in The Mighty Boosh as well as the likes of Flowers, Nathan Barley and the 2017 movie Mindhorn.

Other newcomers include Last Tango In Halifax’s Nina Sosanya and actor Edward Bluemel from the Sky One series A Discovery of Witches.

When is Killing Eve season two airing in the UK?

We don’t have a date for the series to air in the UK at the moment – with even New Zealand getting the series before us, as it began over there on Monday night.

However the BBC’s director of content Charlotte Moore has hinted that we may not have to sit it out for six months as we did for the first series, saying that UK fans ‘will not have to wait so long next time’ for the season to come to us.

In the mean time, you can catch up with season one on BBC iPlayer.

Avengers: Endgame’s Chadwick Boseman devises genius way to avoid spoilers: ‘I’m dead’

The actor isn’t taking any chances (Picture: REX/Shutterstock)

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman has seen the antics of spoiler kings Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland, and he’s certainly not about to follow in their footsteps.

Instead, the T’Challa actor has created his own rule and stuck to it for when he’s asked questions about the movie, simply declaring: ‘I’m dead.’

He’s not wrong.

After we saw half of our heroes, including T’Challa, fade away into dust at the end of Infinity War, fans are desperate to find out what happens next.

However, after being asked: ‘How does it feel to know people love this film so much?’ the 41-year-old shrugged, replying: ‘It’s great but I’m dead, so I can’t answer any questions about that.’

With an interviewer probing about spoilers at CinemaCon, the star shrugged again, reminding her: ‘I’m dead.’

As for a question about Black Panther 2? ‘I’m dead.’

‘We’re not ready for you to be dead yet,’ the interviewer laughed, with Chadwick brutally answering: ‘Well, I am. I’m dead.’

Well that’s that, then.

The star definitely seems to have a commitment to keeping tight-lipped, joining Samuel L Jackson, who proudly told Metro.co.uk: ‘I keep secrets.’

However, the rest of the cast have been playing with fire, with Karen Gillan and Chris Evans almost giving away spoilers at the press conference.

Chris Evans nearly let a spoiler slip during a press conference (Picture: Getty Images for Disney)

Opening up about her character, Nebula, taking revenge on Thanos for his deadly snap in Infinity War, Karen said: ‘It’s maybe safe to say she suffers from some daddy issues because her dad is Thanos, so who wouldn’t?’

The actress continued: ‘I’m excited for her to face the source of this abuse. She’s talked about how she wants to inflict revenge, so we all know about that. I’d like to see her try to face that.’

Meanwhile, the Captain America star panicked Joe Russo as he teased: ‘It’s the completion of the arc. This film does kind of provide an ending to a lot of…’ before the director made a loud buzzing noise to stop him in his tracks.

At least no one’s spoiled the ending 10 months in advance or live streamed the actual movie just yet, right Mark Ruffalo?

Avengers: Endgame will hit cinemas on 25 April.

Chris Hemsworth swaps Thor’s hammer for marker pen as he ‘improves’ Avengers: Endgame posters

$

Avengers: Endgame’s Chris Hemsworth has definitely proved he’s the joker of the gang, and his latest prank is no different.

Wandering mischeviously around a hotel armed with a marker pen, he took his opportunity when he saw huge posters of all his pals knocking about and gave them some (presumably unwanted) ‘fresh looks’.

Doodling ‘I [heart] Thor’ on Robert Downey Jr’s cheek and giving Chris Evans a dashing moustache and glasses, he claimed he was ‘making some improvements’.

We’re not sure everyone would agree, Chris.

‘Helping out some fellow avengers with new fresh looks,’ the Aussie captioned the video. ‘I can now add make up artist to my powers.’

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old has clearly been having a blast on the press tour, joining pals Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo for a rendition of Hey Jude.

We’ve always said the MCU needs a Beatles tribute band.

While Robert was feeling the music big time, Hemsworth clearly didn’t have a clue what was going on, but just looked happy to be involved.

We feel you, Chris.

However, not everyone has been having the best time, with Scarlett Johansson reportedly being left ‘frightened’ by paparazzi as she left the studios after an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

An LAPD spokesperson confirmed that the actress was ‘jostled by a crowd of cameramen outside the theatre’ on Hollywood Boulevard but was not injured.

She was given a police escort and taken to a local LAPD station but she did not not file a police report.

NBC reporter Robert Kovacik confirmed the reports, tweeting that the 34-year-old star was now ‘home safe’.

Scarlett had spent the evening at a taping of the nightly chat show with her Marvel co-stars with Robert, Chris (Hemsworth) and Paul Rudd.

With the movie less than a month away, there are theories galore about what’s set to go down in the conclusion to the 22 film ‘Infinity Saga’.

However, directors Anthony and Joe Russo have insisted that, while some fans have come close, no one’s guessed what exactly happens.

In an interview with Jake Hamilton, Anthony said: ‘Here’s the thing, the fans are so passionate and they spend such a long time living with these characters, thinking about these characters, and they’re using their imaginations to follow where these stories could possibly go.

‘Sometimes they’re wildly off; sometimes they’re kinda next door to what might happen … Here’s the thing, nothing’s ever that close. You can get kinda close, but it’s never exactly.’

Avengers: Endgame will hit cinemas on 25 April.

The Widow star Charles Dance has confirmed that his character Martin Benson is actually a goodie and helps Kate Beckinsale’s Georgia Wells on her quest.

The 72-year-old actor, who played Tywin Lannister in Game Of Thrones, teased to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on Tuesday’s This Morning that he isn’t actually a villain in the new ITV drama series.

‘Oh I help her [Georgia,’ Charles began. ‘But she’s a little angry and has been for a long time because I made a decision that I thought was for her own good.

‘She didn’t share the view that it was for her own good and she’s held that decision against me for some time. Now she needs my help so she’s come crawling.’

The season eight finale took place last week at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, with Charles describing it like ‘a college reunion.’

‘It was anyone who’d ever been in the show was invited. It was bigger than any premiere I’ve ever been to. endless lines of limos.

‘They really pushed the boats out and gave us the last farewell with a bang.’

What the hell? Introducing Inbar Lavi as Eve in Lucifer season 4 (Picture: Netflix)

Lucifer fans can rejoice as Netflix finally dropped the season four promo we’ve all been waiting for.

The streaming giant boasted on Twitter that Lucifer star Tom Ellis ‘has really settled into his new home’.

No major plot details were given away in the video, but followers were delighted to catch a glimpse of some of the show’s stars on the set of season four.

Ellis was joined by co-star Lauren German who plays Detective Chloe Decker in the series, while Lucifans were also introduced to new cast member Inbar Lavi who will be playing Eve (as in Adam and Eve) throughout the fourth chapter.

Described as ‘the original sinner herself’, this version of Eve, as reported by TV Line, has ‘grown restless in her marriage [to Adam] and longs for a less predictable time when things were exciting. Naughty. Dangerous.’

Lucifer was Eve’s first love and now it looks like she’s back to stir things up.

Lavi ,32, is best known for playing Raviva on the 2012 MTV series Underemployed and Sheba in Prison Break.

Most recently, the Israeli-born actress played Maddie on Bravo drama Imposters, which was cancelled last summer.

Inbar Lavi to play Lucifer’s ex, Eve in season 4 (Picture: Netflix)

Season four is perhaps the most anticipated series of Lucifer yet as fans count their lucky (morning) stars that the show was picked up by Netflix after being cancelled by Fox last year – and if this new promo is anything to go by, the streamer plans to amp up the show’s raciness.

The response from fans to the clip and to Eve has already been huge.

One fan tweeted: ‘OMD!! SO EXCITED TO SEE OUR DEVIL BACK! Thank you @netflix!!!!’ before another added: ‘TOM, LAUREN AND INBAR’S CHEMISTRY IS OUT OF THIS WORLD.’

Though no release date has been, confirmed, Ellis promised fans it will be announced ‘soonly…’

Lucifer season 4 will be released on Netflix later this year.

Fat-shaming caller in live TV debate slams plus-size Gillette model: ‘She looks disgusting’

The Gillette Venus advert featuring a plus-size model sparked a live TV debate that descended into fat-shaming.

The model in the advert, Anna O’Brien, is pictured wearing a bikini on the beach with her arms in the air.

Gillette Venus shared the ad with the caption: ‘Go out and slay the day’.

The online responses to the campaign haven’t been kind, and the harsh comments continued offline as it came up for discussion on Jeremy Vine.

On Tuesday’s show, host Anne Diamond took a call from a woman who said she used to weigh 34 stone.

Admitting that she had been fat-shamed in the past, she added: ‘I’ll be honest, I don’t agree with this advert at all. That’s not plus, that’s super super super super plus and I think she looks disgusting.

‘I used to be bigger than that and again I think it’s unhealthy and I think a lot of people that are super-sized, they won’t admit it but I think there’s a lot of mental health issues behind there.’

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvz0aXqgy6o/?utm_source=ig_embed

She went on: ‘I used to comfort eat, I still comfort eat, I still struggle with my weight. I’m a size 20 at the moment, and it’s not easy but that is not a positive image to be putting out there.’

Anne then went to model and plus size lifestyle blogger Stephanie Yeboah, who said: ‘I think it’s very damaging to shame people into losing weight.

‘I think also, studies have shown that if you try and shame fat people into losing weight it has a detrimental effect.’

Anna, also known as Glitter and Lazers, was praised by Gillette for ‘living out loud’.

They said in a statement: ‘Venus is committed to representing beautiful women of all shapes, sizes, and skin types because ALL types of beautiful skin deserve to be shown.

‘We love Anna because she lives out loud and loves her skin no matter how the “rules” say she should display it.’

Noah Centineo has showed off his singing skills while out with his To All The Boys I Loved Before co-star Jordan Fisher.

And boy does that man have some pipes.

When wandering down the street, the pair broke into an impromptu performance as the blasted out the tune I Can Go The Distance, from Hercules.

Although he might not have hit every note, it seems Noah sure tried to put on his best Disney prince impression, and we can’t help but be impressed.

The duo laughed away to themselves and even tried to rope in their buddy Ross Butler, who will also be appearing in the movie sequel.

But it doesn’t seem the 28-year-old was up for a sing-a-long as he awkwardly smirked into the camera as though he didn’t know the words.

Jordan wasn’t impressed as he shouted: ‘Ross!’ before the video was cut short.

In the caption, the 24-year-old, who has actually released an EP, wrote: ‘@ncentineo popped off with some Go the distance outta NOWHERE.

‘Don’t sleep on his musical theatre knowledge, ladies and gents. @rossbutler however…’

Ross teased in the comments: ‘I’m ashamed,’ before the trio were inundated with fans telling them how hilarious they are.

‘WHY DO THEY TORTURE US,’ one joked desperate for their upcoming movie, while another added: ‘This makes me very happy.’

The boys will be starring in the To All The Boys I Loved Before sequel alongside their leading lady Lana Condor.

The 21-year-old joined Noah at the the Kids’ Choice Awards earlier this year.

When talking to ET Online, she couldn’t hold back when praising him, and said: ‘It’s really, really amazing [working with Noah].

‘He’s really talented, and he’s an amazing actor, and we’ve always gotten along really well, so I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star.’

The publication then asked what we can expect from the highly anticipated sequel, to which she teased: ‘Lots of love and sweetness and awesomeness, and there’s going to be some drama.’

Elisabeth Moss says Scientology’s anti-LGBTQ writings ‘are not my bag’ but defends religion

Elisabeth Moss has defended her Scientologist beliefs – despite disagreeing with their anti-LGBTQ writings.

The Handmaid’s Tale actress is one of the showbiz world’s most famous Scientologists, and has defended her beliefs on a number of occasions.

However, the 36-year-old is adamant that when it comes to the Church’s teachings on sexual orientation, it is ‘not where I stand’.

In the founder of the Church of Scientology L Ron Hubbard’s writings, he refers to homosexuality as a ‘sexual perversion’, as well as an illness, although in 2005, the Church claimed it ‘does not dictate sexual preferences’.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, Elisabeth said: ‘That is not my bag. I am obviously a huge feminist and huge supporter of the LGBTQ community and believe so strongly—I can’t even tell you—in people being able to do what they want to do, to love who they want to love, to be the person that they want to be—whoever that is.

‘To me, it’s a huge reason why I love doing [The Handmaid’s Tale]. That’s all I can say. I can’t speak to what other people believe, I can’t speak to what other people’s experiences have been. That’s where I stand and the only place I can speak from is my own.’

The Church of Scientology
L Ron Hubbard’s writings include anti-LGBTQ comments (Picture: Michael Montfort/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images)

The actress, who is currently starring in Jordan Peele’s Us, also addressed criticism of her starring as fiercely feminist characters in The Handmaid’s Tale and Mad Men when she is a practising Scientologist.

Calling it ‘a complicated thing’, she said: ‘One of the things I believe in is freedom of speech. I believe we as humans should be able to critique things. I believe in freedom of the press. I believe in people being able to speak their own opinions.

‘I don’t ever want to take that away from anybody, because that actually is very important to me. At the same time, I should hope that people educate themselves for themselves and form their own opinion, as I have.’

Unlike many stars who began practising with the Church as adults, Moss was raised as a Scientologist along with her family.

While she rarely speaks about her beliefs, she defended the Church on Instagram in 2017 when a follower claimed that both Gilead (in The Handmaid’s Tale) and Scientology believe ‘outside sources are evil’.

Elisabeth Moss
The actress said freedom of speech is at the centre of Scientology (Picture: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

She fired back: ‘That’s actually not true at all about Scientology. Religious freedom and tolerance and understanding the truth and equal rights for every race, religion and creed are extremely important to me. The most important things to me probably. And so Gilead and THT hit me on a very personal level.’

It was claimed that Elisabeth’s split from husband Fred Armisen in 2011 was in part down to her religion, with a source telling Us Weekly: ‘Her religion was as important to her as their marriage, if not more. He could not get with it.’

Elisabeth’s beliefs have also caused a bit of a rift with Leah Remini – who has been extremely vocal in her opposition to Scientology since leaving the Church herself.

The King Of Queens actress previously said: ‘Elisabeth Moss believes that she can’t talk to me. [S]he believes that I’m an antisocial personality—because I’ve spoken out against Scientology. So she isn’t allowed to talk to me. And me knowing that, I wouldn’t put her in the awkward position.

‘I don’t hold anything against Elisabeth Moss other than she’s continuing to support a group that is abusive and destroying families… That’s for her to learn—just as I needed to learn it.’

At the TCAs in 2017, when Leah’s show Scientology and the Aftermath won an award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming, Moss reportedly left the room.

The cast of ITV's Hard To Please OAPs
The celebs will be getting to grips with technology in Hard To Please OAPs (Picture: ITV)

What do you get when a bunch of celebrities in their twilight years come face to face with new technology? ITV’s new series Hard To Please OAPs, that’s what.

Yup, the next four weeks will see our intrepid seniors getting to grips with the gadgets designed to make our lives easier – while questioning whether they really do make things more simple for us or whether old-fashion methods of getting things done are better.

You can expect to hear some pretty strong opinions coming from our celebs in the coming weeks.

But just who is taking part? Here’s what you need to know.

Who is taking part in Hard To Please OAPs on ITV?

Here’s the line-up you’ll be watching testing out everything from electric cars to home saunas.

Amanda Barrie

Amanda Barrie in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

Amanda, 83, is best known for her Carry On movie appearances as well as playing Alma Sedgwick in Coronation Street for 20 years. She’s had a brush with reality TV before after an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, but getting to grips with gadgets is a very different prospect indeed.

Lionel Blair

Lionel Blair in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

Entertainer, presenter and tap dancer extraordinaire Lionel Blair, who celebrated his 90th birthday last December and has seven decades in showbiz under his belt, continues to be a familiar face on TV – most recently popping up in The Real Marigold Hotel in 2017 (and let’s not forget that Celebrity Big Brother appearance either).

June Brown

June Brown in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

At 92, June is the oldest of the celebrities tackling new technology on the show – and she’s still known to millions as EastEnders’ very own Dot Branning. But just how will she face when she swaps Albert Square for Alexa?

Sheila Ferguson

Sheila Ferguson in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

The baby of the bunch at 71, Sheila Ferguson found fame as a member of 70s chart-toppers The Three Degrees, but is also an actress and author – as well as dabbling in reality TV with I’m A Celebrity in 2004, Celebrity MasterChef in 2006 and the second series of The Real Marigold Hotel in 2017. This could prove to be even more of a challenge.

Ruth Madoc

Ruth Madoc in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

Veteran actress Ruth, 75, is best known for her role as holiday camp rep Gladys Pugh in sitcom Hi-De-Hi, which was barely off screens in the 1980s (it ran from 1980-88 and is still often repeated even today). The Welsh-born star is still a regular on TV and in pantomime – but this could be a very different challenge indeed.

Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

Harry, 72, is of course a football managing legend but also won the hearts of the nation late last year when he was crowned I’m A Celebrity’s 2018 King Of The Jungle. Just how will getting to grips with gadgets compare to getting to grips with life in camp?

John Sergeant

John Sergeant in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

Broadcaster John Sergeant, 74, has enjoyed a distinguished career in political journalism – but is also fondly remembered for his floor-dragging antics in the 2008 series of Strictly Come Dancing (which he quit midway through). We can’t wait to see how he gets on with whatever the show might test him with.

Michael Whitehall

Michael Whitehall in Hard To Please OAPs
(Picture: ITV)

Michael, 78, is the father of comedian Jack Whitehall, but is also well-known in his own right as a producer, talent agent, author and TV personality as well as appearing alongside his son in documentary series Travels With My Father. Just what will he make of the gadgets and gizmos he’ll be putting to the test in this TV appearance?

Hard To Please OAPs is on ITV on Tuesday night at 8.30pm.

Maisie Williams says Game Of Thrones will have a ‘beautiful’ ending.

The final season is just days away from hitting our screens, and Maisie, 21, is looking forward to the future.

While the actress is excited to see what’s in store, she said saying goodbye to the hit show was emotional.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Lorraine, she said: ‘For [Game Of Thrones] to still be as big as it was three seasons ago or four seasons ago, and even bigger now – it’s quite an achievement for a show to do that really so I’m honoured to be a part of it.

Asked how she feels about it coming to an end, she added: ‘It’s like a really good time in my own life.

‘At 21, nearly 22, everyone my age is leaving uni and trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their life.

‘And I feel like I just graduated the school of acting, now I wanna figure out what I wanna do with the rest of my career.

‘It’s like one chapter ending and a new one opening which is really exciting. But the last chapter was really beautiful and I am gonna miss it.

Fans are going to have to wait a few more days to find out what will happen to Maisie’s character Arya Stark, but we know there’s going to be a huge battle in her future.

Maisie got to film physically demanding battle scenes that left her and the rest of the cast totally exhausting.

‘Nothing can prepare you for how physically draining it is,’ she told Entertainment Weekly.

‘It’s night after night, and again and again, and it just doesn’t stop.

‘You can’t get sick, and you have to look out for yourself because there’s so much to do that nobody else can do… there are moments you’re just broken as a human and just want to cry.’

Game Of Thrones starts 14 April on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.

Why Gotham’s Barbara Kean was the feminist icon viewers truly deserved

OP: Why Barbara Kean was the feminist icon Gotham viewers truly deserved
We need more women like Barbara Kean in the DC Universe (Pictures: FOX/DC)

When Barbara Kean first graced our screens back in season one, it seems almost a dead cert that she was about to be killed in some way in order to spur on Detective Gordon’s fight for justice.

In a world full of men that needed the attention of the series plot line, Barbara became nothing but a side plot. Timid and extremely naïve, she was nothing but an accessory to those around her – for good and bad intent – and she was just willing to play along.

It was only when she decided for that not to be the case anymore that the fun really started, and now she’s the feminist icon that the DC Universe had until that point been extremely lacking.

As the series finale draws ever closer, Barbara is now a badass, mother of one with a thriving mafia empire and strategic place within Gotham City’s walls.

You can’t help but think she’s done one hell of a fantastic job considering at one point it looked like she had gone literally crazy from love.

It’s no secret that the DC Universe Gotham is emulating is an extremely male dominated world, with only a few women managing to get through to prominence (i.e. Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Catwoman). So for someone like Barbara to not only join them, but outshine them, is a plotline that actress Erin Richards and the team should be proud of.

Gotham's Erin Richards teases end of series time jump as she says goodbye to Barbara Provider: DC Comics Source: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3749900/characters/nm3260333?ref_=tt_cl_t8
Turning herself into a force to be reckoned with, her major rebrand gave her a new lease of life (Picture: Fox)

Barbara does not have the weight behind her of some of her villainous counterparts, like Penguin Oswald Cobblepot or the mystery of Edward Nygma, soon-to-be The Riddler. So how come, out of everyone, she’s the one that has come out on top repeatedly and using the fact people underestimate her to her advantage?

The character is a quiet mouse no longer, in fact, she’s a full-on Siren, and she’s earned her place standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the DC Universes biggest legends in a way other characters throughout the show’s run just couldn’t do (Sorry, Fish Mooney, we’re looking at you here).

Landing in the Arkham Asylum to dicing with the cult leadership of Jerome’s Maniax, Barbara has always been attracted to danger, and while sometimes her heart overruled her head to begin with, she’s learned from her mistakes.

Barbara’s evolution has become one of the major points of the series (Picture: Fox)

Her caring side still exists, despite the hard exterior she’s learned to put up, it’s clear through her affection towards Jim and certain characters in need of sympathy that person is still underneath. Though at the beginning of the show she was labelled as crazy for almost caring too much, and going to extremes in order to obtain the love she craves.

She’s not one to underestimate. Ever. In fact, she’s a true powerhouse, and her ability to use her sexual prowess and street smarts in order to achieve her goals is nothing short of admirable.

In feminism, it’s not enough to just demand equality, you’ve got to cut your teeth to prove that you’re worthy of being there beyond that of ‘just because you’re a woman’. Barbara is the point proof of this in action, and it is exactly what young girls need to see these days in shows that so often, even now, are willing to make women disposable.

Finding her place in the underbelly of the gritty city that would soon birth Batman has not been easy, but she’s done it, and she’s thrived. In spite of the men around her, and not because of them. Making the world her own, her bisexuality came front and centre, as her relationship with Jim took more and more of a backseat in her story.

It’s Erin that seems to have put it best, declaring in an interview with Hollywood Reporter: ‘To be able to tell that very feminine story and show a strong woman supporting other women and being able to play all the different sides of Barbara, showing that a woman can be everything, strong and vulnerable, in love, having a baby, all these different aspects of being a woman has been a real honour to me and a real asset to the program.’

The Queen of Gotham might be a villain in most people’s eyes – but when the curtain falls on Gotham in just over three weeks’ time, we’ll remember her as a newfound feminist hero.

Gotham continues Thursdays on Fox.

It was recently rumoured that Judge Rinder had jokingly asked Harry Styles’ mum out on a date.

However, it turns out that he’d actually hoped she would raise his future child, if he were ever to have one.

That’s right, after meeting the One Direction star, the 40-year-old was so taken aback by how good his manners were, that the Strictly star wanted the singer’s mum to raise his own child.

When appearing on Loose Women, the judge recalled the awkward moment, and laughed at there being no part of his body left to cringe.

After the panelists asked him to clear up the rumours, he said: ‘So I was at the gym and I saw Harry being so beautifully behaved and well-mannered that I wanted to go up to him.

‘Seeing how he was such a super star, he was helping out with the towels, and he was incredibly courteous.’

But despite being a famous face himself, the television star added: ‘I got star struck and I was like, “I really like your music,” and then the conversation resulted in some embarrassing questions.’

Oh dear.

The star went on to joke about how he hasn’t seen the Sweet Creature hitmaker since, but has reached out to his mum, Anne Twist.

‘I have made a little bit of contact with Harry’s very very thoughtful mum on twitter,’ he said before adding: ‘I’m hoping she’s going to forgive me and come to the show!’

YouTuber kisses sister for a ‘prank’ and freaks out the entire internet

Our eyes! Our eyes! (Picture: YouTube)

Chris Monroe has made a name for himself on YouTube for his kissing ‘pranks’- but his latest has left the prank world and landed straight in WTF territory.

In the vlogger’s latest video, he kisses a girl he claims to be his sister – and understandably, the internet is rather horrified.

Chris – better known under the channel name PrankInvasion, fully snogged Kaitlyn O’Connor, who he assured viewers isn’t his full sister, but his half-sister, as if that makes things any better.

Promising his 3.7 million subscribers ‘something big’ after disappearing from his channel for six months due to a hack, Chris said he was going to get his sister to play one of his kissing games.

He said: ‘I’ve tried like, five times to ask her, but I’m so nervous, because she’s my sister and I don’t want her to think I’m crazy.

‘I feel like such a creep, I’ve literally been stalking my sister, upstairs, for like the past hour.’

Um, yeah, you should feel creepy.

Chris then goes up to Kaitlyn’s room before somehow getting her to agree to a game of rock, paper, scissors, with the rules being that if he wins, he gets to kiss her. Her being his sister. Just so we’re clear.

Kaitlyn says: ‘No stop, I don’t want to kiss you. I can’t kiss my brother’ – before leaning in for a peck.

However, that wasn’t enough, as Chris then began properly French kissing HIS SISTER.

After the stomach-churning smooch, Kaitlyn said: ‘I never want to do that again’, while Chris quipped: ‘What I do for YouTube.’

He then promoted Kaitlyn’s modelling Instagram, because at this stage, why not tell the internet to go creep on your sister’s pictures?

The video has been viewed over 2 million times and, unsurprisingly, the reaction has been… er, not great.

Chris Monroe and sister Kaitlyn
Chris claims Kaitlyn is his half-sister (Picture: Instagram)

It has 86,000 dislikes in comparison to 17,000 likes, with the comment section flooded with disgust.

One person wrote: ‘100% The way you kept pulling her back for more… this was no prank… you were enjoying every bit of it…. gross’, while another rightly commented: ‘I’m not sure this guy knows what the definition of “prank” is.’

Now, many viewers have noted it looks like he uses actors in some of his kissing pranks to play strangers on the street, so it could be that Kaitlyn isn’t actually related to him.

But on Instagram back in March, Chris seemed to confirm their relationship, writing: ‘Had such an amazing time with one of my little sister’s @coutureforever on St. Patrick’s Day! You’re my half-sister but it honestly doesn’t feel like it—so thankful we’ve stayed so close all our lives. Go follow her and show her love!

‘If this photo gets 30,000 likes…me and my sis will kiss on YouTube!’

The photo got 41,000 likes, so we guess he’s a man of his word.

OK, we think it’s time to burn the internet to the ground.

Race Across The World winners Tony and Elaine reveal how they’re spending their prize money and it’s so suitably pure

Race Across The World winners Tony and Elaine Teasdale have revealed how they plan to spend their £20,000 prize money and, honestly, their plans are just as pure as you’d imagine.

The retired P.E. teachers from Cornwall proved that the slow and steady wins in the race, as their cost-saving coach and train journeys from hell meant they sailed past rivals Darron and Alex, Felix and Josh, as well as Natalie and Shameema at the final stretch of their 12,000 mile sprint from London to Singapore.

But it was tough. Through tears, starvation and sheer perseverance, every team came out a champion in their own right, but Tony and Elaine took home £20,000. And rightly so.

The BBC series was by far the most wholesome reality show since Bake Off, so it’s only right Tony and Elaine’s plans would be suitably humble too.

The couple share three children, boast five grandchildren, and their bag of cash is being handed out accordingly.

‘We’re going to split it five ways because we have three children and ourselves,’ Tony exclusively revealed to Metro.co.uk. ‘There’s different charities we’ve supported but we’ve always wanted electric bikes!’

Although, they did pretty well on their own two feet throughout Race Across The World. Tony and Elaine were the oldest competitors on the course and at times were days ahead of their nearest competitor.

Going into the final, they managed to spend an afternoon by the pool before playing beer pong and pouring bottles of vodka down the locals’ throats like they were auditioning for a part on Geordie Shore. It was magical.

But while there was a competition to be won, Race Across The World was just as much about the comradery between the teams and each other as it was about the end goal.

And four months after returning to the UK, the entire cast are still always on the phone and planning new adventures together.

‘We’ve been going wild on WhatsApp with them all,’ Tony told us. ‘There’s a Vikings weekend being organised. It’s war of the roses by trail or something. A coast to coast cycling route.’

Living. The. Dream.

Race Across The World is available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
