Beyonce and Kelly Rowland are the gal pals you want to spend the the night with at a concert, judging by how much fun they were having at Janet Jackson’s show last night.

The Destiny’s Child singers let loose at Janet’s latest Las Vegas show on her Metamorphosis Tour on Saturday, where they were spotted in the audience, dancing the night away like the rest of us regular mortals.

Except they’re both superstars and we, well, are not.

While most eyes were drawn to Janet bossing it on stage, an eagle-eyed fan managed to spot Beyonce, 37, and Kelly, 38, in the dark sat near other concert-goers.

Queen Bey, with her hair in a thick long ponytail, was seen clapping away and singing the lyrics to Janet’s 1986 classic What Have You Done For Me Lately.

At first, Kelly was content to dance in her seat but after some friendly encouraging looks from Bey, jumped out of her seat to show Janet true appreciation.

Because when Beyonce says dance, you dance.

It’s not known if Janet met up with the singers backstage but they no doubt had a catch-up away from prying eyes after the show.

Janet launched the Metamorphosis Tour on 17 May at the Park Theatre and will perform a total of 18 shows at the venue before wrapping up the short stint in August.

The pop icon’s personal trainer recently revealed the gruelling workout regime Janet embarks on to get in shape for a tour and it’s not for the faint-hearted.

Paulette Sybliss started training with Janet for her State of the World tour in 2017, just four months after the singer gave birth to her son Eissa.

The fitness trainer told Metro.co.uk: ‘Janet is a very focused woman, her mindset from the start was “let’s do this” and it never changed.

‘The sessions were hard, there were days I knew she was tired from the previous session but she showed up and always gave me 100%. Being a new mum came with challenges but Janet had all angles covered and we worked her sessions around her day so this was never an issue.’

Fans of Jason Manford who gathered to watch the star perform at Salford’s Lyric Theatre had their evening interrupted last night when a phone set on fire.

The entire audience were evacuated from the theatre in the Lowry during the interval, while the fire service attended the scene.

The theatre’s official Twitter claims Jason’s set was only delayed by 20 minutes and confirmed the evacuation was due to an ‘overheated mobile phone’.

‘Our security removed the phone from the venue & the fire service attended as per our emergency procedures,’ read the message.

Jason himself was also evacuated and posted a picture of a fire engine arriving at the theatre while joking his set was ‘on fire’.

He also posted a picture of the offending phone which was clearly burnt.

The Salford show was the first of Jason’s Muddle Class tour to be British Sign Language interpreted, a feature the comedian promised is the beginning of making all his shows more accessible.

Jason has recently opened up about his mental health struggles, telling fans he hasn’t been on social media as much as he used to be in an effort to help him cope with depression.

‘I did it because at the beginning of the year I had a bit of a health scare, and I wouldn’t go far as to say I had a breakdown, but I had a struggle mentally,’ he revealed in a Facebook Live.

‘It has taken me this long to be brave enough to say it really – but I have been struggling and finding things hard – and I think social media can be really not good with that.

‘I suffer from anxiety and depression – and they’re not traditional comedy subjects for a comedian to talk about – but I do and it’s really hard, really hard sometimes.’

Mariah Carey still has her golden touch as she delights London’s Royal Albert Hall

Let’s cut to the chase – yes, Mariah Carey can still sing, which is what most who haven’t seen her perform live in recent years really want to know.

And even more of a surprise, there appeared to be minimal lip-syncing too when she performed live at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, so we can finally all relax.

Mariah might be one of the few pop icons we have left whose stardom could truly match the resplendent setting of the prestigious west London venue.

With that voice, hair and stage presence, the Royal Albert Hall couldn’t be more of a fit for an artist like Mariah whose divaness has become larger than life over the past three decades.

Yet in the same breadth, the first of her three shows at the venue last night was intimate and warm allowing the audience to feel the full scale of her talent.

It’s been 25 years since Mariah, 49, last performed at the prestigious concert hall so it’s no surprise that the evening was steeped in nostalgia.

For the audience, it was being taken on the journey of her hits from Emotions to We Belong Together, and for Mariah, it was memories of her sharing the Royal Albert Hall stage with the late, great Luther Vandross, something which she opened up about in a very non-celebrity, ultra-human moment.

Still got her touch (Picture: Metro.co.uk)

If anyone went into the show with preconceptions about Mariah, they probably left feeling the other way because it was a performance full of genuity focusing wholeheartedly on her talents.

Granted, there was a lot of glitter and even a sequinned water bottle because, why would you drink out of a regular one if you’re Mariah?

But her vocals way outshone the little quirks which, frankly, were rather endearing.

In recent years, Mariah’s suffered criticism of her live performances with claims that she’s ‘lost her voice’ for good, while she’s also been accused of lip-syncing.

We’re not going to say the Royal Albert Hall show was completely void of the use of a backing track – and backing singers, of course – but for the most part, Mariah belted out those falsettos, vibratos and whistle-tones like she was back in 1997.

Mariah Carey performing at London's Royal Albert Hall
MC’s vocals were as dazzling as her wardrobe (Picture: Metro.co.uk)

Impressively, she didn’t shy away from those difficult notes on big ballads like My All and Without You, in fact steering towards them head-on with confidence.

If you’ve watched any of Mariah’s performances in the past couple of years, you might agree that this is the happiest and most comfortable she’s seemed on-stage in a while.

It was a near-perfect show but faltered on occasion with the odd remix of fan-favourite songs thrown in to add some life in between the heartfelt ballads.

Fantasy was given the club treatment and, while we got the vision, it just didn’t work in execution.

But those ill-fitting moments were saved by some sincerely standout performances.

The set list included We Belong Together, Hero and Without You (Picture: Metro.co.uk)
Mariah Carey performing at London's Royal Albert Hall
Mariah last performed at the Royal Albert Hall 25 years ago (Picture: Metro.co.uk)

Notably, Mariah’s duet with Trey Lorenz on Endless Love, an incredibly emotionally-charged performance in homage to Luther Vandross whom she performed the song with at the Royal Albert Hall in 1994.

The energy was electric and emotional bringing the diva that is Mariah right back down to earth.

It was also a treat to see the singer humanised during Always Be My Baby, when she was joined by her children, Moroccan and Monroe, and looked every inch the doting mother.

So it seems Mariah really hasn’t lost her touch after all.

In fact, last night she proved all that glitters really is gold.

Mariah Carey’s Caution Tour continues at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 26 and 27 May.

Game Of Thrones star Sophie Turner has revealed she misses smelling like horse manure on set of the HBO fantasy series.

The actress, who played Sansa Stark in the franchise, confessed that she’s beginning to yearn for the stench that encapsulated the cast behind-the-scenes, telling SFX magazine: ‘The last day [of filming] was incredibly difficult.

‘I’m actually starting to miss the mud and being sweaty and smelling like s**t – literal s**t, because it’s horse s**t all up your dress.’

Sophie continued to the publication: ‘I think Game of Thrones means everything to me. It’s been my adolescence, it’s been half my life, basically, and the only half that I can remember.

‘It’s my family. I had substitute fathers, substitute uncles, substitute brothers.

‘I met my best friend on there.

‘It’s the best acting class I could have ever asked for. It’s been my whole life and without Game of Thrones, I think I would be a completely different person.’

Game Of Thrones came to an end last week with the controversial season eight finale.

Before the finale episode aired, fans set up an online campaign calling for the whole series to be remade, racking up well over one million signatures.

Sophie, 22, branded the petition ‘disrespectful’ and called out audiences for being rude.

The star also admitted that she regrets trading in university life to star on the show, telling Graham Norton: ‘I wish I could have gone out and drunk a lot and thrown up in the middle of a club without it being photographed!’

‘But, I am happy with my Game of Thrones experience,’ she added. ‘I don’t think I missed out on too much.’

Game Of Thrones is available to watch on catch-up on HBO, Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.

Game Of Thrones might have come to an end but that doesn’t mean we’re completely ready to bid farewell to series eight.

In fact for those who might be suffering withdrawal symptoms since the show bowed out last weekend get an extra treat this weekend in the shape of The Last Watch.

The two-hour documentary takes a look behind the scenes of season 8 as it shows the mechanics of making each scene as well as showing never-before-seen interactions between the cast.

And a recently released trailer shows just how emotional it was for them to leave the series behind for good – as footage of a table reading in the preview revealed.

So when it’s on and when can you tune in? Here’s what you need to know…

When is Game of Thrones: The Last Watch on TV?

Like the series of Game Of Thrones, The Last Watch will be simulcast in both the US and the UK, on Sunday night there and in the early hours of Monday morning here.

That means you’ll get your first chance to see it on Sky Atlantic on Monday morning at 2am – although you’ll be up quite late for this one as it runs for longer than your average episode, clocking in at two hours and 10 minutes.

If you really can’t face staying up, you can see it on Monday night at the more civilised hour of 9pm on Sky Atlantic.

You’ll also be able to catch up with it on Sky Go, or via NOW TV.

What can you expect from Game Of Thrones: The Last Watch?

Kit Harington as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones

According to HBO fans can expect the following: ‘Made with unprecedented access, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch is an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production.

‘It follows the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers.

Much more than a “making of” documentary this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world – and then have to say goodbye to it.’

Expect to see a whole bunch of familiar faces also, with Kit Harington, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage and Sophie Turner among those showing up in the film.

James Blunt says his next album will be the ‘saddest’ yet because ‘misery sells’

James Blunt says his new album is going to be the saddest yet after writing about recent bereavements and births in his life
James Blunt says his new album will be saddest yet because misery sells (

He’s known for creating rather melancholy tunes, but James Blunt’s next album is set to be even sadder than ever.

The You’re Beautiful hitmaker will be drawing inspiration from ‘a few people that have died, and a few [that] have been born’ to make his sixth studio album.

And the star is already predicting for his LP in the making to do well because ‘misery sells’.

The English recording artist took a short hiatus from the music scene after the release of his 2017 LP The Afterlove, but the star has revealed that he has already started working on new sad music after a series of bereavements in his life.

Will we get another hit like You’re Beautiful or Goodbye My Lover? (Picture: Lloyd Bishop/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images)

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Blunt said: ‘I am a musician and I’m writing songs, so watch this space.

‘I’ve just come off 18 months on the road so I’ve just washed my clothes and I’m back in the studio.

The singer-songwriter added: ‘Misery sells and I know a few people that have died, and a few have been born, so I’m writing about those.’

While the guitarist’s statement may seem somewhat sombre, fans of Blunt will no doubt expect some more chart-topping misery anthems similar to his past hits.

For example, one of his biggest tracks – Goodbye My Lover – was about James coming to the realisation that he’ll never be with the one who he truly loves after their relationship ended, even though she’s still alive and out there living in the world. How sad.

Even James’ number one hit You’re Beautiful isn’t quite the romantic wedding song it appears to be on the surface, with the star previously revealing that it’s about a man who’s high on drugs in the subway, stalking a woman while she’s with her boyfriend.

Speaking with the Huffington post about the hidden meaning the 45-year-old guitarist added: ‘And he should be locked up or put in prison for being some kind of perv.’

James released his debut album, Back To Bedlam, back in 2004 with the hit You’re Beautiful playing as his leading single.

He then later released All The Lost Souls in 2007, Some Kind of Trouble in 2010 and finally Moon Landing in 2013 before the sad song man took a four-year break from the music scene.

Speaking on how the process of making this album is going, the star said that he was having a ‘really good time’ with it.

James continued: ‘I am in the studio. I’m having a really good time. I have stuff to write about. I’ve just bought a pub as well.

‘It’s called The Fox & Pheasant, right by Chelsea Football Club.’

Perfect! So at least we have somewhere to drown our sorrows while listening to the new album, James.

Claudia Winkleman admits she’s ‘evil’ to Tess Daley… by making her come round to her house

Claudia Winkleman has revealed that while her and Strictly Come Dancing co-presenter Tess Daly get on swimmingly, she does have one ‘evil’ habit when it comes to their friendship.

Speaking to The Mirror Claudia said: ‘I see Tess all the time. We laugh, we eat – there’s a lot of eating – we’re just hanging out together, and our little kids get on.’

Cute, but surely it’s not all hunky dory?

‘I make her come round to me, because she lives outside London and I’m evil like that,’ she goes on to admit.

Ok, Clauds. You might think that’s evil, but we think it’s just practical. We do the same to our friends who live just down the road.

The presenter also waxed lyrical about her time spent on Strictly, saying it’s ‘like a brilliant time at school’. ‘[It’s] something I really look forward to, when all the gang get back together.

‘We have a total laugh, hope it does well and never take it for granted, then we all break up.’

One member of the gang who won’t be returning is Darcey Bussell, who announced she would be leaving the BBC show in April.

She has since revealed she decided to leave because she ‘didn’t want to push her luck’ and wants her daughters to remember her as ‘a classical dancer and not just a judge on Strictly’.

During her interview, Claudia said she ‘loves’ Darcey and is ‘really going to miss her’.

There are countless rumours flying around about who is going to fill the hole in the judging panel, though Claudia herself is keeping tight-lipped in case she gets ‘killed’.

It Takes Two host Zoe Ball says she has heard the new judge will be a woman, but is personally rooting for Anton Du Beke to be promoted from the dancefloor to the panel.

At one point, it sounded as though current judge Shirley Ballas – who says she has ‘a hole in her heart’ following Darcey’s departure – was lining up her own son to join the judging line-up, though she recently denied those rumours.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, she said: ‘I never said that. As usual, things get twisted. I never said that at all.

‘I think the BBC would do an amazing job with whomever they pick as long as they feel they are qualified and they fit the rest of the panel. I am sure it would be absolutely spectacular.’

What is Netflix’s new shocker The Perfection about and who is in the cast with Allison Williams?

Alison Williams in Netflix's new film The Perfection
Warning: it’s creepy AF (Picture: Netflix)

It’s been a good weekend for Netflix releases, from Renee Zellweger’s drama What/If to sci-fi flick Rim of the World.

However, the film that’s really got us talking is the bewildering horror movie The Perfection, which seems to have divided audiences everywhere.

What’s it about, who stars in it and why has it been so divisive? Take a seat.

What is The Perfection about?

The Netflix synopsis is as follows: ‘In this twisty horror-thriller, a once-promising music prodigy reconnects with her former mentors, only to find them taken with a talented new pupil.’

The main character, Charlotte, is a classically trained cellist struggling to cope with the loss of her mother. She returns to the music world where she re-encounters her former music instructor, his wife and his new prodigy whom she quickly bonds with.

While it sounds creepy, it doesn’t sound entirely heart-stopping, right?

Still from the trailer of The Perfection
The trailer doesn’t reveal the full picture… (Picture: Netflix)

Wrong. Early reviews are in and the consensus – even for the haters – is that it’s creepy AF.

The jarring film cuts across genres and never allows viewers to really settle into it, which may appeal to some, while alienating others.

However, the ending is the thing that’s really got people talking…but we’ll let you find out about that yourself.

Who is in the cast of The Perfection?

Allison Williams, known for her role of Marnie in HBO’s Girls and as Rose in the horror hit Get Out.

She’s joined by Steven Weber who plays her former teacher Anton, Alaina Huffman who stars as his wife Paloma, and Logan Browning who plays his new prodigy, Lizzie.

The twisted horror flick is directed by Richard Shepard who previously directed Girls as well as the pilot for Ugly Betty, for which he received an Emmy in 2007.

Where can I watch the trailer for The Perfection?

You can watch the trailer below, or on Netflix’s official YouTube channel.

But be warned: Allison told PEOPLE Now: ‘Whatever you think about the trailer, you’re wrong.’

She continued: ‘Netflix did such a good job of cutting something together that wasn’t a traditional linear story trailer.’

Will there be a sequel to The Perfection?

The controversial ending to the film may leave some questions unanswered, but it’s also difficult to see where a sequel would pick up.

Never say never though!

**Some Lucifer season 4 spoilers below**

Lucifer season five may be the most coveted series of television ever as fans continue their campaign to get the Tom Ellis comedy renewed on Netflix.

And the Lucifans’ dedication might just pay off (again).

Series showrunners have come out in support of the Lucifer season five campaign saying it’s ‘super important’.

Joe Henderson explained: ‘To that point, the fan support is super-important, and in particular the [first] month is going to be crucial towards whether or not we get a season five, because they are paying attention.’

He told TVLine: ‘And by the way, so far, the fan support has been amazing. It’s been everything you could ask for.’

Ildy Modrovich added: ‘They’ll hopefully let us know within a month [by June 8].

‘That tends to be how they do things with first-season shows, that they will hopefully let everyone know within a month.’

She also said that the ‘binging and all the fan support helps with that’.

Well, that’s some good news! Nice to know our binge-watching is actually beneficial.

Fans are continuing to campaign heavily for Lucifer season five to be recommissioned by Netflix on social media with the hashtag #LuciferSeason5 still doing the rounds and Tom Ellis has all but confirmed it himself – with more nudity and bad language on the cards too.

Fans also think the series will return with a significant time jump.

Here’s hoping season five will actually be announced before June 8.

Lucifer season 4 is currently streaming on Netflix.

Amber Heard was pictured looking joyful as she stayed glued to her phone during a sunny Memorial Day weekend stroll.

The 33-year-old was spotted in Los Angeles days after her ex Johnny Depp accused her ‘painting on’ her bruises and of committing domestic abuse against him during their tumultuous marriage.

But Amber did not let the legal woes stop her from enjoying the holiday season, as she pulled off the casual but chic look that is the white-tee, blue denim combo.

We love an effortlessly fashionable queen.

The Aquaman actor, who is now dating It director Andy Muschietti, has accused Johnny of abuse but her ex is now claiming she abused him.

Johnny, who has staunchly denied Amber’s allegations that he physically abused her, is now suing her for defamation with the prize of $50 million (£39 million).

It is the first time Depp has spoken out using his own words since 2016 when Amber accused him of abuse.

‘I have denied Ms Heard’s allegations vehemently since she first made them in May 2016,’ he wrote on 21 May, adding that ‘she walked into court to obtain a temporary restraining order with painted-on bruises that witnesses and surveillance footage show she did not possess each day of the preceding week’.

The 55-year-old claimed that he has decided to pursue the case three years later because of the ‘appearance of new evidence not previously in my possession’.

He alleged that ‘after years of asserting my innocence, I am finally in a position to prove it by dismantling each element of her hoax’.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor previously submitted video footage taken from the cameras inside the elevators of their former apartment building, which was shot three days after he was accused of hitting the Danish Girl actress in the face and trashing their apartment.

The clips, which were obtained by The Blast, show Amber, her sister Whitney, and a friend entering and exiting the elevator multiple times and Johnny’s legal team believe there are no signs of physical injury on the actress’ face even though ‘she and her two friends claimed in picturesque detail that Johnny Depp smashed Ms Heard’s face and “destroyed” his own penthouse.’

Metro.co.uk has previously contacted reps for Johnny and Amber for comment.

Little Black Mirror: Latin American Netflix set to launch Black Mirror miniseries for YouTube

The series will be released on the Netflix América Latina channel (Picture: Netflix)

Netflix has announced a three-part miniseries, Little Black Mirror, to promote the upcoming fifth series of the dystopian show.

The short films are aimed at a Spanish-speaking audience and will be released on Netflix’s América Latina YouTube channel over the next two weeks.

The so-called ‘mini-stories’ aren’t created by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones (the brains behind the main anthology episodes), but are directly inspired by their main Black Mirror series.

Maia Mitchell, Rudy Mancuso, Alesso, Hannah Stocking, Juanpa Zurita, Lele Pons, Anwar Jibawi, Jeff Wittek and Delaney Glazer are all set to appear in the episodes, which have been directed and scored by actor and internet personality Rudy Mancuso.

Netflix reportedly reached out to a number of YouTube and internet stars to create their own take on the hit series.

The main series of Black Mirror is set to premiere for a fifth time on 5 June, with three full episodes for us to sink our teeth into.

Andrew Scott aka Fleabag’s Hot Priest is set to star in Smithereens, while Miley Cyrus takes on the familiar role of an internationally famous pop star in Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too.

On Miley’s unlikely casting, Charlie told Metro.co.uk it was a complete accident: ‘We thought it would be great if we had someone like Miley Cyrus, there’s no way we’d get her, but we’ve got nothing to lose by trying to get the script to her I guess.

Miley Cyrus in Black Mirror trailer

‘Then we were extremely lucky and pretty gobsmacked that she’d heard of the show, read the script, liked that and got on the Skype call with us.’

We have no idea of what is about to happen to Miley in the much-anticipated ep, but we know it’s not going to be as happy as a Hannah Montana episode.

Charlie revealed he did have to think about that aspect: ‘We did have a conversation at one point which was like “will people take this as a meta Hannah Montana thing”, but we didn’t worry about that too much, and she’s such a good sport.’

‘She’s willing to slightly satirize the music industry, she’s happy to sort’ve have fun with that.’

Glenn Howerton’s NBC series AP Bio has been cancelled after two seasons and fans are not having it.

Series creator Mike O’Brien broke the news with fans on Twitter, writing that he is ‘intensely sad’ about the situation.

‘This has been my favorite project of my life and that’s because of the amazing writers, cast and crew. As most canceled shows probably feel, I think we were just hitting our stride and everyone was still loving the work, so this is very hard. We have 4 left to air and they’re 4 of my favorites.’

The hashtag #SaveAPBio is now trending with a number of celebrity fans showing their support.

Variety reports that the comedy, in which It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton plays a disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar forced to work as a high school teacher, is the second lowest-rated scripted series for NBC.

The series has received mixed reviews since it premiered in February 2018 with a 65 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Since news of the cancellation broke, legions of annoyed fans have been trying to get #SaveAPBio trending and it’s gaining huge traction on Twitter with Howerton himself urging views to keep it trending.

His co-star Patton Oswalt tweeted: ‘This has…not been a great day. Please read this thread and know everyone on @NBCAPBio had the most fun making that show and we’re sad that none of us get to see where it was gonna go. But we’re glad for the trip we got to take. Thank you @MikeOBrienXOXO. #APBio’

AP Bio tweet

Star Wars’ Mark Hammill also agreed the cancellation is ‘awful news’ and actor Meredith Salenger said: ‘Help keep this trending. If u like APBio. Please hashtag #SaveAPBio Remember when y’all rallied for @nbcbrooklyn99.’

Other big names voicing their support include SNL’s Paula Pell, Supergirl star Sam Witwer and comedian Nikki Glaser.

If the likes of Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nin can be saved by fan movements then there certainly is hope for AP Bio.

AP Bio airs on NBC and Hulu in the US.

Lewis Hamilton may have just won the Monaco Grand Prix, but he’s also won the respect and praises of a couple of sporting legends as a result.

Gary Lineker took to Twitter to congratulate the driver on his win, writing: ‘Brilliant stuff from @LewisHamilton. What a drive.’

The Match Of The Day presenter also said the star is getting to goat levels, using the goat emoji to properly illustrate his point.

The goat, by the way, actually stands for Greatest Of All Time. Gary is even cooler than you thought, huh?

Fellow racing driver Heikki Kovalainen also tweeted Lewis with his congratulations for his ‘amazing win’, telling him he’d never seen anyone win a race with ‘just rims’ before referring to the type of tyres the Mercedes team had incorrectly put on the car.

Another racing legend, Nico Rosberg, tweeted Lewis’ win was ‘well deserved’. Nico was there to watch Lewis pass the finish line in Monaco, and posted a picture of himself just before the grand finish with the caption ‘is Lewis gonna make it??’

After recovering from the race, Lewis dedicated his win to the late Niki Lauder – the Austrian Formula One hero who passed away earlier this week.

‘That was for you, Niki,’ wrote the racer on Twitter, ‘Your fighting spirit was right there with me every step of the way.

‘I know you are looking down and taking your hat off to us.

‘I miss you, we truly miss you and I hope we did you proud today, legend.’

Lewis seems to be living his best life recently, having been spotted at both the Met Gala and backstage at Coachella.

BBC’s Bodyguard had the nation hooked when it aired last year – and it was mostly due to the sizzling chemistry between leads Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden.

The Line of Duty star is currently starring opposite Topy Stephens in BBC Two period drama Summer of Rockets, but her insane chemistry with Madden in last year’s Bodyguard was a huge talking point among viewers at the time.

The 43-year-old actress who played the role of the Home Secretary in the popular series said it was down to them laughing together on set.

‘The secret is we didn’t stop laughing. You know when someone just tickles you? I felt safe with him,’ she told the Mail on Sunday.

‘We had some very odd things to do together, which means you have to trust each other and I really did trust him.’

In the same interview, The Durrells star opened up about her struggles with depression.

She thinks suffering depression is in her ‘DNA’ after opening up about battling the condition for years.

‘It’s something that never goes away. I think it is in your DNA if you suffer with it.

‘I have become better equipped at looking after myself. I’ve tried various things over the years. Keeping busy helps, being forced to carry on, because inevitably it will pass.

Keeley also struggles with anxiety, although she considers it to be a very ‘human thing’.

‘It’s a very human thing, isn’t it, to worry about what you say and how you are perceived?’

Keeley Hawes is currently starring in Summer of Rockets which continues on BBC Two on Wednesdays at 9pm.

**Chilling Adventures of Sabrina spoilers below**

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Kiernan Shipka caused quite the stir on Instagram today when she shared a striking photo posing with her co-star Gavin Leatherwood.

The pair play a couple in the Netflix series which has become something of a cult sensation.

Writing to her 4.3 million followers, the 19-year-old former Mad Men star said: ‘Here ya go, ya hungry shippers.’

Over 970,000 likes later and the Sabrina and Nick stans were happy.

The actress had previously been spotted on a date with Gary Oldman’s son Charlie.

Gavin plays warlock Nick Scratch on the show and he and the teenage witch herself begin dating when Sabrina and Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) break up.

The Perfection’s Allison Williams: ‘no one wants me to go on a solo trip with a black girl’ thanks to Get Out

Allison Williams The Perfection
Allison’s most recent character is complicated to say the least (Picture: Netflix)

After playing the terrifying and unhinged Rose in Get Out, we’re all understandably wary of Allison Williams and any character she plays.

Turns out, she’s more than aware of our unease and completely gets it.

In an interview with The Sunday Times Style, Allison said: ‘I try not to make too much light of it, because Rose was f****** terrifying and the worst person in the world.

‘I expect that when people sit down to watch The Perfection, they immediately won’t trust me, or trust a word I say, or want me to go on a solo trip with a black girl.’

Those who have already sat through the new Netflix film will understand exactly what the former Girls actor is talking about, but those who are yet to go through the twists and turns it throws at you will be even more confused.

From the trailer, Allison’s character Charlotte looks every bit as untrustworthy as she was in Get Out, though – as Allison points out – the parts she plays are never that straightforward.

The perfection trailer allison williams
Charlotte isn’t all she seems (Picture: Netflix)

The 31-year-old says since playing Rose in Get Out she is only offered ‘weird’ scripts for characters who ‘mask their motivation’ – a privilege Allison says she enjoys.

‘This is a moment where so many people’s voices are being added to the creative conversation in a way that I love so much.

‘And for someone like a white girl from Connecticut, who comes from the world that I come from, my participation in my business can – should be – I think, much more thoughtful than it always has been.

‘One of these days, I’ll have to just do a straightforward here’s-the-plot-of-the-movie movie,’ she joked.

Please don’t. We’d much rather be terrified than bored.

The Perfection is currently streaming on Netflix.

Gentleman Jack viewers feel for Anne Lister as she attempts to explain gender identity to a young boy

A gender role defying queen (Picture: BBC)

**Spoilers for Gentleman Jack episode 2 below**

Gentleman Jack fans found their new favourite TV heroine tying herself in knots in the second episode of the new BBC drama.

Anne Lister, played by Suranne Jones, was confronted with a question when attending a boy who had been injured after a cart accident.

‘Are you a man?’

Unfortunately, the answer is much more complicated than the question – especially for Anne.

‘Well that’s a… question,’ laughed an uncharacteristically nervous Anne. ‘And you are not the first person to ask it.’

She then goes on to tell a story of when she was once mistaken for a man while dressed ‘very ladylike’.

‘No, I am not a man,’ she finally replied. ‘I am a lady. A woman. A lady-woman.

‘I’m a woman.’

Viewers of the show were left in stitches by the all-too-familiar scenario, with one tweeting: ‘Anne Lister struggling with gender definition is a whole ass mood’.

Some noticed a similarity between Anne’s response and David Walliam’s old Little Britain character, whose catchphrase was ‘I’m a lady’.

The drama about the ‘first modern lesbian’ has proved such a hit that it has already been renewed for a second series.

‘We always dreamed there would be more and now we get to play it all out,’ said Suranne of getting to play Anne again.

‘It’s such amazing and positive news. I love working with the brilliant and talented Sophie Rundle and can’t wait to create some more Lister and Walker moments with her too.’

A massive 5.1 million people tuned in to the series premiere last Sunday, making it the most successful BBC new drama launch in 2019 so far.

Gentleman Jack airs on BBC One on Sundays at 9pm.

Gentleman Jack episode 2 review: Anne Lister’s quest to woo Ann Walker picks up speed in steady episode

Lister and Walker’s connection is undeniable (Picture: BBC)

Anne Lister is continuing her quest for the Ann Walker’s heart this episode – and doing a pretty fine job of it too by the looks of things in the second episode of Gentleman Jack.

While the first episode did a pretty good job of setting up Lister’s ability to be cock of the walk, I Just Went There To Study Anatomy focuses on the other key players in her life, and more importantly, what they think of her.

Though it wasn’t hinted at too much in the first episode bar one or two scenes, this episode takes particular care in showing the world isn’t oblivious to the ‘strange’ nature of Lister in that era.

In one particular scene, a young boy without malice asks her if she’s a man or a woman – and in the politest way possible, Lister makes it clear that it’s not the first time that she’s heard that, from people who should know better than to ask.

But throughout it all, Walker stands true to Lister and continues to defend her, even when she’s warned that ‘women cannot be left alone with her’ .

‘People’, who ever they may be, are talking about Lister behind her back, saying all kinds of nonsense as she continues to be a curiosity for Halifax – but to her credit, she has little time to worry, as she has businesses to sort.

The men of Halifax are underestimating Lister’s abilities (Picture: BBC)

Continuing to underestimate her abilities in business because she’s a woman, the men around her have been stealing coal and convinced she’ll never know.

Well, she has, and now she’s got a bit of a mission on her hands to prove it, all while demanding money from people continuing to use their land.

Plans for Shibden Hall are also beginning to take shape, much to Marian’s continued annoyance and her parent’s confusion.

Just when she thinks she’s finally getting a handle on things, life throws another curveball as her former love sends a wedding invitation, and the heartbroken Lister decides to attend – all in black with the most ludicrous hat in the world.

Suranne Jones continues to be enchanting as Lister and her determination in all walks of life is infectious – but as this episode has the story wandering along on an average pace you can’t help but wonder when something in her perfectly built world will collapse and take everything with it.

With both Lister and Walker now heading to the Lake District, is it time for their romance to kick up a notch?

Gentleman Jack continues next Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.

**Spoilers for Gentleman Jack episode 2**

Gentleman Jack continues to thrill viewers as Suranne Jones takes on the role of the first modern lesbian, Anne Lister.

Episode two kicked off on BBC One tonight and it featured a very raunchy sex scene that has sent viewers into a bit of a frenzy on Twitter.

One viewer wrote: ‘#GentlemanJack Wow I even went red.’

While another added: ‘Looked up to seeing Anne giving/receiving an enthusiastic lesson in anatomy. Accidentally muted the tv out of second hand embarrassment. Woah. #GentlemanJack @BBCOne.’

Perhaps not the type of show to watch with your granny in the room.

The scene in question was a flashback that saw Anne remember a time she engaged in oral sex with a former lover.

Such a scene is quite shocking for a BBC period drama but it is a joint HBO production so we have them to thank for that.

The rather risqué moment comes after the show was praised for its LGBTQ representation in the opening episode.

Jones, 40, revealed she’d enlisted the help of an ‘intimacy expert’ for the show’s sex scenes and it seems to have paid off.

The series premiere last week was warmly received with audiences praising Jones for her ‘captivating’ performance.

Gentleman Jack airs on BBC One on Sundays at 9pm.
