When Disney bought Fox, a whole new world of crossover opportunities opened up including one between the Marvel cinematic universe and the world of X-Men.

While there’s not a lot of certainty surrounding which X-Men characters will make the jump over to Disney productions in their current form, there’s one hero who seems to be more safe than the others: Deadpool.

And now the rumour mill – courtesy of fan site MCU Cosmic – is churning out a number of ideas for when we’ll get to see him on our screens next.

The most obvious and most likely is in another standalone movie, which we’ll call Deadpool 3 for now.

The second movie in the sweary franchise knocked Avengers: Infinity War off the box office top spot when it was released in the summer of 2018, so you can’t blame Disney for wanting to cash in on another blockbuster opportunity.

But what about that merging of universes? Well, here’s where things get exciting because according to whispers in the Marvel camp, there are plans to make Deadpool appear in Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man movie.

And for any purists out there, don’t panic. It turns out the pair have already teamed up for a series of Marvel comics which launched in 2016 and are still being published.

Another option apparently being discussed is to give Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool his own series, which will stream exclusively on the much-anticipated streaming platform Disney+.

Fans of the R-Rated unconventional hero will be delighted with this idea, as it means we’ll get so much more Deadpool than ever before.

You will, however, have to sign up for the $6.99 (£5.50) a month service and there’s no news on when it will be launched in the UK.

There are also reports that R Rated content won’t be available on Disney+., which would take away the main reason we like Deadpool in the first place – his foul mouth.

We’re still a little wary about what Disney’s acquisition of Fox will mean for the rest of the cinematic universes we all know and love, but if a Deadpool/Spider-Man crossover is where they’re headed then we’re into it.

In case you didn’t know, Dannii Minogue is a pretty big deal in San Francisco where she actually has her own official day.

While the rest of the US marks Memorial Day Weekend, it seems the sunny Californian city of San Fran might actually be celebrating the Australian popstar instead.

As it happens, Dannii, 47, was gifted with a proclamation on 27 May 2005 by the city’s mayor, Gavin Newsom, who declared that day Dannii Minogue Day to mark her first live performance on the West Coast.

A round of applause would have done, no?

We kid, it’s actually a pretty cool fact and one which Dannii was thrilled to remind her fans of earlier today.

The Love and Kisses singer tweeted: ‘Crazy disco fact: today is Dannii Minogue day in San Francisco. This official proclamation from the Mayor was presented to me when I gave my first live performance on the West Coast at Santa Clara’s Great America theme park.’

She added: ‘I’m still blown away – it was such an honour. Party hard today, and every May 27, dolls [sic].’

Dannii included the official proclamation certificate which listed some of the popstar’s achievements, including: ‘In February of 1990 Dannii’s debut single Love & Kisses was released throughout Australia, reaching number four and staying on the charts for 15 weeks, exceeding Australian gold status with sales of 60,000.’

But the icing on the cake: ‘Dannii, who has just released her 18th UK hit single, You Won’t Forget About Me, will make her first US West Coast performance at Paramount’s Great America, now.’

Happy Dannii Minogue Day, folks.

Dannii appears to be in quite a nostalgic mood of late as she has also recalled her iconic 1995 Playboy photo shoot, which she admits her family didn’t want her to take part in.

Speaking in an upcoming episode of Anh’s Brush With Fame: ‘Mum and Dad did not want me to do it. They’re like, “Once it’s done it’s done and you can never go back”.’

But Dannii has no regrets about going ahead with the shoot as it helped her out of a financial sticky spot, explaining: ‘They offered me this amazing situation to sort a problem I’d got myself into and I don’t regret it one bit.

‘It was an amazing experience – I’m still happy with the photos today.’

Jada Sezer was rumoured to be the first plus-size islander in the Love Island villa.

But if she is going to be, she won’t be in the first batch.

As the as yet anonymous islanders go into hiding in Mallorca, Jada, 30, was running a 10k race in London on Bank Holiday Monday.

Much like Andrea McLean, the mental health campaigner chose to run the Vitality 10k in her underwear to promote body positivity.

Jada was pictured beaming as she smashed the race in a sports bra and pants, with her name emblazoned on the rear.

We are loving Jada and all she stands for, but it’s highly unlikely that she’s in the Love Island line-up.

As well as being in London, Jada is still active on social media – a no-no for islanders heading into the villa.

That being said, she could be a late arrival, so we’ll be keeping an eye if Jada disappears offline.

It was believed that Jada was considered the ‘perfect choice’ to boost diversity between islanders, with no plus-size contestant ever entering the show.

Previously speaking on a podcast about her weight, Jada said: ‘This is my natural weight and I’ve been able to make a career from it.

‘If I was to stop liking cake and lost weight then I would probably lose clients because when you get down to a size 14/12 it can be harder to get jobs.’

The line-up is set to be revealed any day now, with many names rumoured for the villa.

Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy – also a boxer – is strongly rumoured for the show, as is AJ Pritchard’s brother Curtis – also a dancer.

Rochelle Humes’ little sister Soph, beauty therapist Amber Rose Gill and social media influencer Sav Berry are also believed to be heading into the villa.

Love Island begins on 3 May on ITV2.

Pointless star and TV hero Richard Osman has revealed he would rather be an author than a TV presenter.

The 48-year-old recently signed a whopping £1.1 million book deal for his debut novel The Thursday Murder Club, and has found his true passion lies with writing.

‘I want to do loads of these books because there’s a million things that can happen,’ he said.

‘I’d like to be an author, not a TV presenter, in ten years’ time. But it’s up to whether the public read my work and like it – and hopefully they will.’

Sounds like Richard’s future happiness is in our hands, guys.

‘I’m very aware that I’ve had a very good run – I’ve been lucky with the TV shows I’ve done – but you’ve got to prepare for the future as well,’ Richard added, proving he’s not just wise on the telly but in real life too.

As for his novel, it’s been in the works for the past 18 months though he kept it a complete secret until a month ago, when he let his agent Juliet Mushens read a first draft before she took it to publishers.

And it sounds like The Thursday Murder Club is set to be a bit of an international hit as well as a home success, as Richard is ‘thrilled’ about the attention his book has got in places where people don’t know him from Pointless.

‘I’m weirdly more excited that the Americans and the Germans and the French have bought it – because they don’t know who I am,’ he told The Sun.

‘For them, it’s not some boring celebrity who’s written a novel, they just read the book and really loved it.’

The Thursday Murder Club is due for release in 2020.

Brooklyn Beckham and Hana Cross have kissed and made up after their ‘bust-up’.

The young couple reportedly had to be separated by security guards at Cannes Film Festival during a tense ‘row’ over the weekend.

But the 20-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham planted a kiss on his girlfriend, 22, just hours after reports first began to emerge that the model ‘lashed out’ at him.

The two, who confirmed their romance in December last year, were seen putting on some major public displays of affection on Sunday as they headed to the Man Und 99 Legends vs FC Bayern Legends charity match at Old Trafford, Manchester.

The reported argument comes after a string of public disagreements the pair are said to have had over the last couple of months.

While enjoying themselves in France for the annual film festival, the boozy lunch at the lavish Hotel Martinez led to them both ‘screaming and crying’ during another public spat, according to The Sun.

An insider close to Hana reportedly told the publication: ‘They had had a couple of drinks and started trading insults. They are both still young, so of course everything is very impassioned at that age.

‘Hana confronted Brooklyn and lashed out, and security waded in. David and Victoria were contacted and made aware of the incident.

‘Not surprisingly, they are seriously worried about the couple’s toxic relationship and frustrated by all this humiliating public drama.’

In April, Brooklyn was pictured in a car wiping his face as Hana could be seen holding her head in her hands after another ‘disagreement’.

At the time it was reported that they had fallen out over Brooklyn drinking too much on a night out in March.

But fans of lovebirds did not fear the state of their relationship as Hana was soon pictured giving Brooklyn’s dad David Beckham a friendly kiss goodbye.

Looks like she is well and truly initiated into the crew as she also spent some quality time with her boyfriend’s family and was spotted bonding with Victoria Beckham back in February at London Fashion Week – where else?

Spoilers for The Walking Dead season nine coming up. You have been warned.

We all know The Walking Dead was born from a comic book series of the same name, but are you aware of just how much the show veers away from them?

Tom Payne, who played Jesus, is – and it sounds like there’s one particular storyline he’s upset didn’t play out on screen.

When a fan tweeted an excerpt from The Walking Dead #173 showing Jesus and Aaron (played by Ross Marquand on the show) fighting off leader of the Whisperers, Beta, Tom retweeted the picture with a lament:

Read into that what you will, but to us it sounds as though Tom would rather have played out the scene in real life and taken his and Aaron’s relationship to the next level.

The pair were actually boyfriends in the comics, a dynamic that was never explicitly explored on the AMC show.

Unfortunately for anyone shipping Aaron and Jesus, the show runners decided to kill off Jesus in the mid-season finale of season nine, meaning his relationship with Aaron would remain platonic forever.

Actors Tom and Ross have taken their characters’ narratives into their own hands however, and are both adamant Aaron and Jesus did actually get together – we just weren’t there to see it.

‘I would have liked to have hooked up with Jesus,’ Ross revealed to Comicbook.com earlier this year on the Walker Stalker Cruise 2019 – a cruise dedicated to fans of The Walking Dead.

Tom agreed: ‘Yeah, they kind of like teased that a little while, and then they went and killed me, so wah-wah.

‘I think it happened in the six years in-between.’

Filming on The Walking Dead season 10 started earlier this year, with a premiere date predicted for October 2019.

Charlotte Ritchie has revealed what she wants from Ghosts series two after the BBC confirmed their surprise hit will be back for another run next year.

Ghosts steadily became one of the best-loved series to come out of 2019 so far, with Ritchie starring as Alison, who’s recently inherited country mansion is haunted by eccentric spirits played by Horrible Histories alumni Matthew Bryton, Simon Farnaby and Martha Howe-Douglas.

After Call The Midwife killed her off as Nurse Barbara Hereward, Ritchie’s next role was pivotal and moving away from the tragedy of the hospital drama to a comedy proved to be a wise move. But even she was surprised by quite how rapturous a reception Ghosts received.

‘I always hoped people would see all the things I love about the show, but the total joy people seem to be experiencing from watching the show wasn’t something we could have anticipated and is the absolute best result,’ the former Fresh Meat actress enthused to Metro.co.uk.

For a second series, thankfully, there is still plenty of scope to play around with.

‘There are still a lot of back stories to find out about,’ teased the 29-year-old, who revealed she’s desperate to learn more about The Captain (played by Ben Willibond), a former army officer who put himself forward as leader of the apparitions of Alison’s manor.

But before we return to Ghosts, Ritchie is joined by a true hero of comedy, Lisa Kudrow, in Channel 4’s upcoming Mae and George.

The Friends star has been snapped filming in Blackpool and Manchester, which has obviously been particularly exciting time for Ritchie.

‘It’s so amazing,’ she beamed. ‘It’s a really interesting and unusual job in the way in flits between comedy and drama all the time.

‘Working with Lisa was lush, she was so funny and she is disarmingly low key I felt like I wanted to order 20 different types of drinks just so someone was being extremely Hollywood.’

But the in-demand rising star has one big hang up since filming ended.

‘I barely asked her about Friends and I really regret it,’ Ritchie told us. ‘I felt she’d be sick of it, but she had great stories in general.’

The auditions are over, the judges have deliberated and the final 40 acts have been chosen – meaning that the Britain’s Got Talent 2019 live shows can get underway.

Just one more week stands between one act and the series title, bringing with it a £250,000 prize as well as the chance to perform for the Queen and the Royal Family at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

And this year also sees Ant McPartlin returning to co-host alongside Dec Donnelly (who had to go it alone last year), as the next five nights see the remaining acts – including the five Golden Buzzers – duke it out for a place in the final on Sunday 2 June.

What time is the first Britain’s Got Talent live semi-final on tonight?

The first live Britain’s Got Talent semi-final kicks off on ITV on Monday night at 7.30pm.

The 90-minute show will see the first eight of this year’s semi-finalists – among them two Golden Buzzer acts – take to the stage in their bid to win a place in Sunday’s final.

The first to make it through will be the winner of that show’s public vote, who will go straight through to Sunday night.

The second act will be chosen by the judges from the next two most popular in that evening’s vote – with the act they choose making it through to Sunday.

However Sunday’s final will see the winner decided entirely by public vote, with the power taken out of the judges’ hands.

Viewers can vote either by phone, with the numbers revealed on the show, or via the Britain’s Got Talent app.

Geordie Shore fans have urged Chloe Ferry to lay off having any more surgery.

The star recently traveled to Ibiza with her gal pals where she celebrated the launch of Bondi Sands’ suncare range.

However, despite looking like she was having the best time, it seems her followers were left concerned after she posted a worrying photo.

Taking to Instagram, the reality star shared a picture of herself posing in a purple two piece with a sparkly sailor’s hat on.

Chloe has recently spoken about going under the knife and revealed she’d had a Brazilian butt lift to get those Kardashian curves.

Just last year she spoke to The Sun about her surgery, where she said: ‘People think I’ve had loads of surgery right, but it’s so funny because I’ve only actually had three procedures.’

She went on to state that she’s had work done on her nose, belly and boobs – and has since had her bum lift.

‘I’ll tell you one thing though –  going public about getting my belly done is the worst mistake ever,’ she confessed.

‘I had a line put in, it’s not even that good, so no more. But if I do, I will not be going public about it.’

She has admitted to spending more than £50,000 on surgery and told the publication that she’ll do whatever it takes to make herself happy.

Britain’s Got Talent star Brian Gilligan couldn’t be more delighted by comparisons to Susan Boyle after he had the nation in tears with his first audition, a performance of Lady Gaga’s I’ll Never Love Again from A Star Is Born for his late brother.

It was easily one of the stand out moments of the series so far as Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon unanimously sent Brian through with four yeses.

‘It was pretty extraordinary and very unexpected because the head space you’re in, you just want to make sure you break the ice with your song and the reception was superb,’ Brian enthused to Metro.co.uk.

And viewers were just as bold over without thousands tweeting away that they were just as moved by the singer’s performance as they were by the most notorious BGT act ever, Ms. Boyle.

‘Susan Boyle is the legend of the show so to be compared to someone as incredible as her, I’m really appreciative for that to happen,’ Brian told us.

‘When you look at Susan Boyle, who’s achieved that massive level of success, and you’re looking at artists like that it shows there’s potential, so we’ll have to see what happens.’

Since becoming an overnight viral sensation, Susan has sold more than 25 million albums, broken YouTube records and was listed higher in Time’s Most Powerful list than then President Barack Obama.

Though, she subsequently endured a rough time in the media. After being kicked out of a Heathrow airport waiting lounge, the Glaswegian star kept a low profile before her return to the spotlight on America’s Got Talent: The Champions earlier this year.

‘I think fame is an interesting concept,’ explained Brian, brushing off concerns surrounding what may well be his impending celebrity status.

‘I think fame happens outside of what you would prioritise. Fame is obviously a great thing but I supposed it’s just a matter of how you deal with it when you have it. I don’t think you should make it a massive priority or objective; it’s just about who you are and what you do and how you deliver your message through your music.’

Tonight Brian has tough competition, facing two Golden Buzzer acts in infectious dancer Akshat Singh and The Flakefleet Primary School. But he’s quietly confident.

‘I guess tonight I’m definitely going to bring it up a few notches and perform from the gut to give it everything,’ he insisted.

Miley Cyrus has unveiled the cover for her anticipated new album, She Is Coming, after upsetting Nicki Minaj fans with her lyric about Cardi B.

The Wrecking Ball singer is set to release She Is Coming on 31 May and finally shared the album artwork with fans.

Shot by photographer Gray Sorrenti, the artsy black and white cover sees Miley standing over the camera wearing a cropped t-shirt which says ‘never mind the b******s’.

It comes after Miley, 26, performed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Middlesbrough on Saturday and treated the audience to three new songs from She Is Coming – Dream, Mother’s Daughter and one which is believed to be titled Cattitude.

A clip from the performance features Miley referencing the epic feud between the two rappers with the line: ‘I love you Nicki but I listen to Cardi.’

Fans of Nicki, 36, have since ‘cancelled’ Miley in their droves but the popstar seems pretty nonchalant about the backlash from the Barbz.

Miley mocked the situation in an Instagram post on Sunday, with the caption: ‘I love you Miley but I listen to Hannah,’ in reference to her famous Disney character Hannah Montana.

The Cattitude line shouldn’t really come as a surprise as Miley and Nicki had their own feud back in 2015, so it’s possible there’s no real love lost there.

At the time, Miley told the New York Times that Nicki was ‘not very polite’.

Nicki then famously clapped back at Miley at the MTV VMAs saing: ‘This b***h who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?’

It was a super awkward moment as Miley was in the room at the time.

While Bond 25 suffers yet another setback with Daniel Craig’s poorly foot, Netflix have got some much happier news about their very own spy series.

The streaming service has ordered an animated series inspired by the iconic secret agent.

Q-Force will follow a good-looking gay spy and his team of LGBTQ+ pals, who have to work twice as hard at spying to prove themselves as good as – if not better than – their colleagues.

The lead is thought to be taken by Will and Grace actor Sean Hayes, whose production company Hazy Mills is behind the new show.

Sean and working partner Todd Milliner told Deadline they have had the idea ticking away for a long time: ‘We were thinking how do we get to do gay spy and every week, and the only way to do that is animated, because we can do all of the fun parts of a James Bond film.

We can travel, we can have big chase sequences; animation is allowing us that freedom.’

Pulling off a full on live action spy series would just be too expensive, explained Todd.

Sean added: ‘Also, I don’t know that the studios would greenlight a feature with a leading character that’s gay in that genre. Hopefully they will, but that doesn’t seem like right now.’

Unfortunately it seems they may be right. ‘It does seem like it’s one of the last bastions of masculinity that seems like we can’t break the rule of who gets to play that part,’ agreed Miliner.

Mike Schur – the man responsible for The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation – is also on board to produce Q-Force.

‘I’ve been friends with Mike for a long, long, long time, and I was literally driving my car to work, and he was walking,’ explained Sean of their collaboration. ‘I pulled over and I rolled down my window and I said, ‘Hey Mike, would you want to work on something together?

‘He’s like, ‘What is it?’ And I said ‘Gay James Bond’, and he said, ‘Yeah, I would do that’. So that’s how it all kind of started.’

Sounds like it couldn’t be more up our street.

Katie Price is overwhelmed with emotion today as her son, Harvey, celebrates his 17th birthday.

The former Loose Women host marked Harvey’s special day on Monday (27 May) with a series of throwback photos of her first son when he was a baby, and they’re seriously adorable.

Alongside one photo of Harvey as a tot waving out of a window while Katie holds him up, the ex glamour model said: ‘Happy birthday to my Harvey. 17 today where has the time gone?! I love being your mummy.’

In April, Katie said she had ‘no option’ but to put Harvey into residential care as it has grown increasingly difficult to look after him due to his various illnesses. The 17-year-old is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes weight gain and slow development.

During an episode of Katie’s reality TV series, My Crazy Life, the 41-year-old said: ‘I don’t want him to go, but the doctors, mum, everyone is saying that it’s the best thing for him.

‘What they can offer Harvey what I can’t, is daily exercise, keep him on a healthy food plan, he can’t go into the cupboards and eat. He gets to socialise with his friends – it’s more freedom for him.’

The TV star continued: ‘He is 16, and I suppose I’m the selfish one because I just want him with me all the time.

‘I’m still going to see and visit him, take you swimming, trampolining. I have to think about it, I haven’t really got an option, he has to go.’

Just last week, Katie celebrated her own 41st birthday and was seen heading for dinner with her boyfriend, Kris Boyson, and children Princess and Junior.

James Bond actor Daniel Craig is back in the UK after sustaining an injury to his ankle while shooting the next installment of the spy series.

Spotted at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, Daniel looked to be struggling with his injury and appeared to hold on to the door of a trailer for stability.

The 51-year-old had been filming in his iconic role in Jamaica when he reportedly tore an ankle ligament during a chase scene and had to fly to the US for X-rays.

Production on Bond 25 was halted following the accident, despite only officially starting just over two weeks ago.

The film’s official Twitter account released a statement on 22 May confirming Daniel would have to undergo surgery to fix his ankle, though it’s not known when.

Filming will continue without Daniel for the time being, while he spends a couple of weeks recovering.

The actor is said to be ‘furious’ at having suffered the ligament tear after spending months preparing his body to be in ‘prime physical shape’ prior to filming.

The Bond star previously said he would rather ‘slash his wrists’ than take on the role for another film, but appears to have changed his mind for the upcoming 25th entrance to the franchise.

Daniel’s sore ankle is the latest hiccup in a long line of troubles for Bond 25, which has previously seen director Danny Boyle quit the project over creative differences.

Fleabag and Killing Eve writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge has since been brought on to spice up the script and make it more 2019-friendly, despite reports that it’s not even finished yet.

Despite all the roadblocks, the team behind the movie are insistent the still unofficially named Bond 25 will be released in April 2020.

Bond 25 is due for release on 3 April 2020.

Ayda Field shared a sweet video of her children dancing during quality time with the family.

The X Factor judge took to social media over the weekend to post a clip of her daughter Theodora, six, and son Charlie, four, busting out some moves in their cute matching outfits.

The Loose Women star’s children can be seen her Instagram video bouncing up and down in front of their telly as Earth, Wind & Fire’s song September blasted in the living room.

Rihanna found the perfect way to treat Sza after the singer recently suggested she was racially-profiled while shopping for Fenty Beauty products earlier this month.

Three weeks ago, Sza, 28, revealed her frustration while shopping at a Sephora store in Calabasas, where she was allegedly approached by a security guard who thought she may have been stealing.

Sza tweeted at the time: ‘Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing . We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy.’

She added: ‘Can a b***h cop her fenty in peace er whut [sic].’

It’s believed Sza’s nickname for the guard, “Sandy”, followed the likes of BBQ Patty and Permit Patty, which were given to two white people who were accused of racially-profiling black people in the US.

After catching wind of Sza’s ordeal, Rihanna, 31, sprung to action and gifted Sza with a Fenty Beauty card so that the All of the Stars singer could shop without hassle.

In a handwritten message, RiRi said: ‘Go buy yo Fenty Beauty in peace sis! One love – Rihanna [sic].’

Jeremy Kyle can’t seem to catch a break.

The presenter recently saw his ITV show – aptly titled ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ – axed after former guest, 62-year-old Steve Dymond, died following an appearance in an episode where he took a lie detector test.

Unfortunately, there is more bad news to come as Channel 4 is due to lift the lid on what really went on backstage, with a special called ‘Jeremy Kyle: TV on Trial’ due to air tonight (27 May).

As for what will be covered in the special, here’s what we know.

What will be on the Jeremy Kyle special?

Dispatches reporter Morland Saunders will uncover numerous allegations including guests being encouraged by the production team to use drugs, as well as alcohol being provided to guests for ‘medicinal purposes’.

Furthermore, it will investigate a process referred to as ‘Talking Up’, which the production team used as a method to create conflict among guests.

It will also be explained how the infamous lie detector test is in fact, not 100% accurate.

Two former Jeremy Kyle guests – Stacey Talley and Dwayne Davidson – will appear on screen to talk about having suicide thoughts following their experience.

In addition, people who worked on the show will also reveal secrets, including how guests were occasionally encouraged to take a detour trip on their way to the studio – to visit their drug dealer.

‘Researchers and APs and sometimes producers would smoke weed with guests in the hotels the day before to keep them happy,’ an anonymous producer told Saunders.

‘If guests were becoming flakey they’d appease them in any way they could.

‘There was a contributor who was a drug addict and had since stopped taking drugs and cleaned their act up.

‘But in actual fact the show wanted them to be on drugs, because there was no “story” without it. One of the producers was asked “get that person to take drugs again” and at one point was asked “leave money lying around on a table so they will take that money and go and buy drugs with it”.’

Another producer explained the ‘Talking Up’ method and how it was used to get guests to argue.

‘All the new staff that were on the show got taken to a big meeting, and we were taught, about this process that they used on the show called ‘Talking Up’ which I’d not come across before, essentially ‘cause the show is about conflict resolution, you need the people that come on the show to be in conflict when you get on… when they’re on the show,’ one producer, who worked in the show in 2005, explained.

‘So, it was about developing a rapport with somebody, and then using that rapport to wind them up, …before I watched… before I started on the show, when I was just watching it as a viewer, you kind of assume that the people who act like that on the show are just normally like that, and they must just be like that in their normal life, and I think working on the show you sort of realise that … they’ve been produced to be that way.’

Aston Villa have been promoted to the Premier League and no one is more excited than superfan Tom Hanks – yes, the American Hollywood actor.

The Toy Story actor was thrilled on Monday to learn that his favourite football club Aston Villa had made it back into the league thanks to their 2-1 triumph over Derby in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Tom, 62, celebrated all the way from the States but not before marking Memorial Day, tweeting: ‘In the US, remember our Fallen this Memorial Day. Hanx.’

He then added: ‘In the UK? Prepared! Hanx [sic],’ alongside the Aston Villa club crest.

It’s about time Tom had season tickets right?

Appreciating Tom’s loyalty, his Twitter followers reacted in their droves with one commenting: ‘I love that woody is a football fan,’ in reference to his Toy Story character.

Surprised by Tom’s passion for British football, another follower said: ‘Tom hanks a football fan? If he wasnt already a legend this has defenitley cemented it [sic].’

But slightly cynical, another joked: ‘How much are they paying you?’

Just days before, Tom had warned his followers that he would ‘bleed Claret & Blue’ ahead of the Birmingham team’s match.

He had tweeted: ‘On Monday I will bleed claret and blue for Aston Villa. One match away for a return to the Premier League. Up the Villa! Hanx.’

Tom has previously explained how he came to be an Aston Villa fan way back in 2008.

Speaking at the premiere of Charlie Wilson’s War in London, the Cast Away actor had said: ‘Aston Villa sounds like a lovely little place… it sounds like a spa.’

Aston Villa were relegated from the Premier League in 2015 but was rather optimistic about it, telling BBC’s 5 Live at the time: ‘Listen. Rooting for a football team is a life lesson, the ups are ups and the downs are downs, you’ve just got to roll with them.’

There are a couple of spoilers for The Walking Dead coming up, so be careful.

Ever since we found out The Walking Dead has begun shooting season 10, we’ve been desperately sniffing around the internet searching for any breadcrumbs of info we can find.

Luckily, the good folks over at Skybound (which owns the comic the show is based on) are happy to tell us as much as they can. The bad news is, that’s not really that much.

When they tweeted from the official The Walking Dead comic book account asking for any fan questions, they were inundated with hundreds of questions – most of them rather understandably asking about what we can expect from the next series.

The writer warned us they wouldn’t be offering us any spoilers for season 10, mostly because it’s still being written and filmed, but there are a couple of nuggets in their revelations that we can hang on to.

Here’s everything we found out:

There’s going to be another time jump

It won’t be as long as previous spaces between series, but we can expect a couple of seasons to have gone by.

Showrunner Angela Kang recently told Entertainment Weekly that winter will be over and done with, meaning ‘people will be going to be in a different emotional space’.

More storylines from the comics will make it into the series

Fans who have both read the source material and watched the AMC show will know the two often go down different paths, either to the delight or disappointment of the viewers.

Former cast member Tom Payne, for example, really wishes the writers had included his character Jesus’ relationship with Aaron – but they decided to kill him off halfway through season 9 instead.

Skybound says we ‘should look forward to seeing more [comic book moments] in season 10’.

We might get a Negan and Alpha standoff

If we’re getting more comic books stories in the series, a lot of people will be hoping one of those will see Negan and Alpha come face to face.

‘In the comics,’ the experts point out, ‘Negan breaks out of his cell, briefly joins the Whisperers, gains their trust, beheads Alpha, and brings her head back to Rick to prove he can be trusted.’

There’s every chance the show writers will completely ignore this though, so probably best not to set your heart on it.

Rosita might have had her baby while we were away

Remember that time jump? A couple of seasons is definitely enough time for Rosita to have given birth. Maybe.

We’ll find out who the hell was trying to make contact on the radio

Angela Kang has said we’ll find out exactly who was on the other end of the radio at the end of season 9, thank God. We couldn’t deal with yet more cliffhangers.

John Boyega has expressed his outrage over a scene in Spike Lee’s series, She’s Gotta Have It, which features a debate between two characters about black British actors and slavery.

The nine-part Netflix series, which is based on Spike’s classic 1986 movie of the same name, debuted its second season on 24 May.

Viewers have taken particular issue with a scene which features the character Nola Darling (DeWanda Wise), describing black British actors as ‘cheap’.

Star Wars actor John, 27, saw a clip of the scene circulating online and simply labelled it: ‘Trash.’

Starting off the debate, Nola says: ‘[Black British actors] need to fall back and fall away from taking all of our roles, like we have dope, talented, trained, qualified black actors right here in the States.

‘But at the end of the day, black Brits just come cheaper’.

With a questionable British accent, character Olumide Owoye (Michael Luwoye) chimed in: ‘I agree somewhat. But black British actors are better suited than black American actors for Stateside roles because they don’t carry the burden of f****d up black American history, of lynching, slavery, Jim Crow, all that.’

‘Black Brits are free of the psychological burden and therefore they can really delve into black American s**t.’

Ironically, Nola then wonders how ‘someone so gorgeous’ could be so ‘ignorant’ despite her own comments just moments before.

In an attempt to educate Olu on black British history, Nola continued: ‘You’re not unburdened Olu. British ships were the dominant force in the Atlantic slave trade.

‘Almost two million kidnapped Africans who died during the Middle Passage so you and your mans and your fellow black British blokes didn’t come out of the s**t unscathed.’

Digging herself a bigger hole, Nola added: ‘You just have Stockholm syndrome and fell in love with your captors.’

Needless to say, the dialogue has infuriated viewers with much of the criticism aimed at Spike.

Accusing the Oscar-winning director of disliking non-American black actors, a critic weighed in: ‘I think Spike should just say he has an issue with Black people from other countries coming to Hollywood and getting work. I would also love Spike to address the colorism in his work. A lot of this is just anti blackness cloaked in xenophobia.’

Sharing everyone else’s sentiments, another said: ‘I’m not British but this dialogue is so incredibly ignorant and irresponsible.’

Quoting one particular line from the scene, another added: ‘No but #ShesGottaHaveIt2 really really reeeeeeally said [black brits] have stockholm syndrome and fell in love with our captors. do you know how UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLY offensive that shit is?????? but we can’t catch a fart in the wind to say “hey uhhh maybe you guys don’t know us?”’
