Dua Lipa’s new romance with Anwar Hadid just keeps heating right on up.

Rumours are rife that the couple have already moved in together and proving that their relationship is showing no signs of slowing down just yet, Dua was seen planting a kiss on her boyfriend as she launched her new campaign with YSL.

Anwar was on hand to support Dua at the launch party of her new campaign with Yves Saint Laurent for new fragrance, Libre, during New York Fashion Week.

She shared a sweet snap to her Instagram story, that was previously posted by a pal, that saw her planting a kiss on Anwar’s cheek.

Cute.

Dua and Anwar first began dating a few months ago, shortly after her split from ex-boyfriend Isaac Carew.

They confirmed their romance with a loved-up appearance at British Summertime in Hyde Park and now rumour has it, Dua and Anwar have moved in together.

While Dua’s in New York, to write the follow up to her 2017 self-titled debut album, she is renting an apartment in the city with Anwar.

A source told The Sun: ‘Dua and Anwar are spending all of their time together so it just made sense for them to rent this place.

‘She’s always at his when she’s in LA and he stays with her in London so this felt like the natural step.’

The singer is said to have already been introduced to Anwar’s family, including his sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, who say they ‘really like’ her and how ‘solid’ they are as a couple.

In fact, Dua was seen supporting Anwar at his grandmother’s funeral in the Netherlands, earlier this month, after the 78-year-old passed away in late August following a battle with cancer.

Gigi’s new boyfriend Taylor Cameron was also there to support the family.

Amanda Bynes has returned to Instagram after a five-year hiatus and the world is rejoicing.

The She’s The Man actress announced her comeback in the most Amanda Bynes of ways – by debuting a bright pink hairdo.

The 33-year-old showcased her new colour job and a brand-new septum ring in a selfie on her new account on Tuesday, which she captioned with a simple kissing face emoji.

And for any disbelievers out there, Amanda confirmed that it was indeed her Instagram account by sharing the post on Twitter.

She told her 2.9million followers: ‘Hey guys! I’m on instagram now ! Check me out’ – in her first tweet since June 25.

And it looks like the Hairspray star’s already caught the social media bug, as she posted two more selfies afterwards.

Oo, it’s a slippery slope from here on, Amanda.

In one snap she posed with her blonde hair before undergoing the colour transformation, which she captioned: ‘@ the tattoo shop before I went pink!’

In another, she showed off her newly-dyed hair and added a pair of heart-eye sunglasses because fashion.

She may have racked up 40,000 followers in one day, but the actress is only following 15 people herself – the accounts for Dior, Gucci, Chanel and… Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton.

The momentous day marks Amanda’s return to social media after a three-month silence.

Since retiring from acting, the star graduated from the Fashion Institute of Merchandising and Design earlier in Los Angeles in June.

The actress has been looking much happier and healthier in recent months, following a difficult few years in the spotlight.

Amanda shot to fame as a child, starring in several hit shows and movies including The Amanda Show and She’s The Man, but hit the headlines for the wrong reasons when she had a very public breakdown.

She told Paper magazine last year that she was four years sober as she opened up on depression.

‘I started smoking marijuana when I was 16. Even though everyone thought I was the “good girl,” I did smoke marijuana from that point on,’ she said.

‘I didn’t get addicted [then] and I wasn’t abusing it. And I wasn’t going out and partying or making a fool of myself…yet.’

Following her meltdowns in public and on Twitter, as well as her addiction, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was placed under conservatorship by her parents and mental health professionals in 2014.

Y’all might know Kelly Clarkson for her vocal talents, but she’s now turned talk show host and after just one episode, her new show is absolutely smashing it.

Don’t get us wrong, she’s not hanging up her microphone anytime soon, but rather enjoying a little foray into daytime TV with her new show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

It recently premiered on NBC over in the States and, according to reports, Kelly’s show made the ‘highest daytime debut’ in seven years.

Impressive, right?

According to Dailymail.com, The Kelly Clarkson Show drew in a ‘1.9 household rating across primary runs in the metered markets’.

Just to add some context, before Kelly’s hit ratings the Katie Couric show in 2012 drew in 2.8 on its premiere, while the Steve Harvey show had a debut of 1.5.

The Since You’ve Been Gone singer will no doubt be thrilled with the figures, as her first show didn’t exactly go to plan.

She was supposed to have Kevin Hart on as her first guest, but he was forced to pull out after being involved in a horror car crash that left him with three fractures in his back.

Kevin was required to undergo surgery, to fuse together the fractures, and he is expected to make a full recovery. Although, it’s reported he will now need ‘extensive physical therapy’ going forward.

The comedian’s best pal Dwayne Johnson came to the rescue, however, and decided to cut his honeymoon short and step in for Kevin on the show instead.

Discussing the crash with Kelly, Dwayne insisted Kevin’s a ‘very lucky man’ during his appearance.

‘Everything is good, I spoke with Kevin, I connected with him today,’ he told her. ‘I love the guy, he’s one of my best friends and honestly… it could have been a lot worse.’

‘[Kevin is] a lucky man and he knows it too,’ the Jumanji star said.

He leads a whole host of stars expected to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show this season, including Jennifer Garner, John Legend and Ellen DeGeneres.

12-year-old Luke Islam just won himself a bunch of fangirls after wowing during the latest America’s Got Talent semi-final.

The competition is really heating up as the grand final nears and one act that left the judging panel more than impressed on Tuesday night was singer Luke.

He put on a stunning performance of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman and landed himself a standing ovation that left Julianne Hough tearing up.

She told Luke: ‘I feel like a proud mumma, right now,’ while urging viewers at home to vote for him.

His jaw-dropping powerhouse vocals saw the 12-year-old (yep, we said 12) win praise from fellow judge Gabrielle Union too, as she told Luke: ‘You know how special I think you are.’

‘I think the world agrees with all of us,’ she said. ‘You are a world class talent.’

Tuesday night saw a whole new host of acts take to the stage in the hope of making it through to the show’s final, while Queen Latifah joined the judging panel as a guest judge.

Luke’s impressive performance came after fellow singer Kodi Lee floored Simon Cowell with his moving performance in the first semi-final heat last week.

The blind and autistic 22-year-old left the audience stunned with a soul-wrenching rendition of Calum Scott’s You Are The Reason.

‘Your story is unbelievable. But now let’s take it back to your talent. Every time you come on, particularly tonight, you put your twist on a song that makes you, in my opinion, one of the most special, talented contestants,’ Simon said.

The final of America’s Got Talent airs in the US on 17 and 18 September and streams on Netflix in the UK

Jesy Nelson has revealed Katie Hopkins’ tweet about her weight left her in a ‘severe depression’.

The Little Mix star admitted over the weekend that she’d tried to commit suicide in 2013 after struggling to cope with the taunts of cruel trolls about her appearance.

And she’s now explained that controversial TV personality Katie’s comments about her image after the band performed on The X Factor in 2013 felt like the last straw.

After the group’s gig, Katie tweeted: ‘Packet Mix have still got a chubbier in their ranks. Less Little Mix. More Pick n Mix.’

Jesy said the tweet marked a point where her life started ‘spiralling out of control’.

‘All I remember feeling at that time is ‘what’s the f***ing point?’ the 28-year-old recalled on her documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out

‘I starved myself for a week and I’m still getting called fat. I could be the skinniest girl in the world and this is never going to go away.’

She continued: ‘That is the pinnacle point for me when I got severely depressed and it just spiralled out of control.’

The star broke down in tears as she explained her state of mind at that point: ‘I was sat in bed thinking this is never going to go.

‘I’m going to constantly wake up and feel sad for the rest of my life so what is the point in being here. There is no point in waking up and feeling sad every day.’

She then took an overdose of pills and was saved by her boyfriend, who swiftly called an ambulance.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Jesy’s Little Mix pals opened up about their fury towards online bullies for turning their pal into a ‘broken doll’.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall discussed how their bandmate ‘changed before their eyes’, in her documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out.

Jade said: ‘We just had to watch this amazing, funny girl become a bit like a broken doll. It was horrible.

‘I remember feeling really angry. I wanted to just find every single person that had ever said anything horrible to her, look them in the eye and say, “Look what you’ve done to this girl.”‘

Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are currently enjoying a little loved-up trip across the US.

After landing a huge deal with PrettyLittleThing, Molly-Mae jetted into New York to attend the clothing company’s fashion week show, alongside Paris Hilton.

Her boyfriend Tommy then flew out to join her and it seems the couple have extended their trip Stateside, so they can enjoy a few days exploring Las Vegas too.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Tommy revealed that the pair had enjoyed a pretty dreamy breakfast binge on cereal pots and donuts, before taking off for Sin City.

Seems a pretty good way to start the day, no?

Following a five hour or so flight across to the West Coast, Molly and Tommy were then seen exploring Vegas in the 30 degree heat, before succumbing to jet lag (can you call it jet lag if you don’t actually leave the country?).

Snapping their hotel room, a confused Molly explained the couple had ended up sleeping a whole lot longer than they wanted to, after checking into their hotel room and stopping for a nap.

‘When you go for a 10 minute nap and wake up FOUR hours later and confused as hell and having missed your dinner reservation,’ she wrote.

Room service it is, then.

Molly-Mae and Tommy were Love Island’s longest-standing couple this series. They were the first to make things official on the show and their romance is still going strong on the outside.

The duo finished in second place to winners Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – who recently called it quits.

Rugby player Greg explained that careers and distance had made his romance with Amber difficult to maintain, but she says she’s disappointed that he didn’t try harder to make it work.

While Belle Hassan and Anton Danyluk are at the centre of split rumours, Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard have proven they are still completely smitten.

Mariah Carey might have a penchant for all things designer, but it seems her little girl Monroe, eight, just likes to keep things simple.

The We Belong Together singer took to Instagram on Tuesday with the most adorable post of herself and her mini-me out on a shopping trip together.

Mariah explained how she told Monroe they were off on a shopping spree and she could go to any shop she likes. Any shop.

And while we’re over here trying to think of the outright most ridiculous shop or maybe the plushest, well Monroe, she just wants to shop at Target.

Emmerdale star Asan N’jie is accused of making death threats towards Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas during a brawl at the TV Choice Awards 2019.

The incident allegedly took place outside the Hilton Park Lane hotel in London on Monday after night, where the likes of Piers Morgan and Holly Willoughby were celebrating the past year of British TV.

In photos obtained by The Sun, a man believed to be Asan can be seen looking furious at the hotel’s entrance as Jamie is bundled away by another guest.

Asan was reportedly escorted off the premises by security after allegedly goading Jamie and threatening to ‘kill’ him.

An insider told the publication: ‘Jamie was enraged by the sarcastic dig which seemed to come out of nowhere and was completely unprovoked.

‘It was a real flashpoint which left fellow cast members shocked and one or two people remarking on how it was like a scene from a soap opera.’

The eyewitness continued: ‘It was chaos. They were pushing, shoving and really getting in each other’s faces.

‘They got pulled apart but then went at it again. They were both absolutely furious.’

I’m A Celebrity star Malique Thompson-Dwyer is said to have tried to escort Jamie away from the brawl.

The Hollyoaks star told The Mirror: ‘I told him to relax. I told him, “This isn’t that kinda party. It’s the TV Choice Awards”.’

Jamie is said to have continued his night partying with Malique and Love Island star Amber Gill.

In a statement to Metro.co.uk, a spokesperson for ITV said: ‘We are extremely concerned to hear about an incident at last night’s TV Choice Awards involving one of Emmerdale’s cast.

‘Obviously we will be investigating and talking to the actor concerned in due course.’

The former Hear’Say singer was accused of ‘putting pressure’ on new mums this week after sharing a snap of herself breastfeeding her six-week-old son Apollo at the Smooth FM studios.

Some of her followers claimed she was setting unrealistic standards for when mothers should return to work after giving birth.

Well, the 41-year-old has heard the gloom merchants’ opinions, taken them in and rejected them.

A day after the backlash, she hit back at her critics by sharing a clip of baby Apollo chilling in his carrier at the radio studios once again, which she captioned: ‘Booth baby.’

Just in case the trolls really weren’t clear that Myleene doesn’t care what they have to say, she borrowed a sassy lyric from Beyonce’s 2011 anthem Run The World (Girls).

Sharing a snap of herself in work, she wrote: ‘Strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business.’

The controversy kicked off earlier this week when Myleene posted a photo of herself nursing Apollo during her 10am to 2pm radio presenting slot at Smooth FM, alongside the caption ‘#workingmamas’.

Some of her followers hit back in the comments, saying she wasn’t helping mothers with ‘normal jobs’.

One wrote: ‘I’m not sure how I personally feel about this.. It puts new mums under pressure I feel. Being a mother to a new born is pressure enough. But work after 6 weeks?’

Another added: ‘Your little boy is lovely and I am thrilled for you. But back at work at six weeks, give it a rest!!!!’

They went on: ‘You’re really not helping us Mums with normal, real jobs! Tell it like it is Myleene, it’s all a wee bit s**t in the beginning!’

Myleene actually returned to work three weeks after giving birth to Apollo with her partner Simon Motson.

Simon Cowell has big plans for Britain’s Got Talent winner Colin Thackery.

After becoming the oldest person in the world to sign a record deal, Colin’s music career kicked off with the release of his debut album under Decca Records.

But he’s not going to stop there, and Simon already knows what the Chelsea Pensioner will be up to next – not that he’s giving anything away.

Colin, 89, revealed he had a chance to catch up with Simon since winning the most recent series.

He told Metro.co.uk at the TV Choice Awards: ‘I’ve met Simon two or three times. I can’t remember what he said.

‘One thing he did say is “I’ve got a couple of things lined up for you”, and when I asked what he tapped his nose.’

Recalling his time on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, he added: ‘The Champions was fun. Seeing people that you’d seen on TV before, it was good fun. Singing in that huge theatre was a marvelous experience.’

The singer also defended Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle in the wake of backlash the royal couple received over their use of private jets.

He said: ‘I think they should leave well alone.

‘I was in love myself for 66 years and I had a wonderful wife. He apparently has got one too so leave them alone. Let them have their married life.’

Colin is set to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in November, also following in the footsteps of previous Britain’s Got Talent winners such as Paul Potts and Diversity.

The actor has joined Apple’s drama The Morning Show as executive producer and as lead star, playing news anchor Alex Levy, and she has admitted that her return to the small screen after 15 years feels like embarking on the ‘most creatively fulfilling periods’ of her life.

‘I’m entering into what I feel is one of the most creatively fulfilling periods of my life,’ she told The New York Times this week. ‘Seriously.’

She continued: ‘I’ve been doing this for 30 years and I feel like it’s just about to really bloom.’

Jennifer previously revealed she sought advice from her friend Diane Sawyer when preparing for the role in the drama.

‘I’ve known Diane for years, and I had the joy of getting to pick her brain when I was doing research for the show. Diane’s always been so elegant and classy,’ Jen continued.

The star recently celebrated her 50th birthday, but has spoken about the fact she doesn’t feel any ‘different’ after reaching the milestone age. We suppose it’s but a number and all that jazz.

After celebrating in February, she said she’s feeling ‘physically incredible’ so gets frustrated that being the significant age gets mentioned a lot.

She said: ‘50 was the first time I thought, “Well, that number.” I don’t know what it is because I don’t feel any different. Things aren’t shutting down in any way. I feel physically incredible.

‘So it’s weird that it’s all of a sudden getting telegraphed in a way that’s like, “You look amazing for your age.” I think we need to establish some etiquette around that dialogue and verbiage.’

However, there are some signs of getting older that Jennifer won’t be embracing.

The Murder Mystery actor continued: ‘I’m not gonna lie – I don’t want grey hair.’

Jen might be about to add another accolade to her long, long list of awards, as her turn as feisty stripper Ramona in Hustlers is generating some serious buzz – with some tipping her to win an Oscar for the role.

During a stint on SiriusXM Radio, she became tearful as she opened up about the role, telling the host: ‘I’ve just been working hard for so long, for my whole life. It’s nice.

Jen confessed she bawled in her bed after the positive reviews started coming in, continuing: ‘I was literally sitting in my bed yesterday and they were sending me all the reviews. I could not believe it.

‘I was crying, me and my girlfriend of 20 years were sitting there and she was trying to film me. I was like, “Oh my God.”

‘You work hard your whole life and you wonder if anybody notices in a sense, on that level, to be in that conversation. You have dreams when you’re a little girl of being [at the Oscars], you know what I mean?

‘Just to talk about it is amazing. And for people to be saying that is nice.’

Boxer Tyson Fury says his Love Island star brother Tommy Fury might not appear in his new reality TV show.

Tyson will star in the series Meet The Furys, giving fans a look at Tyson the boxer and the man.

His brother Tommy has become a reality TV star in his own right since appearing on Love Island earlier this year.

Along with girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, he went all the way to the final.

So fans of both brothers might be expecting to see the islander pop up alongside his family, but Tyson didn’t sound sure.

Asked on Good Morning Britain about Meet The Furys, Tyson explained: ‘They’ve been following me around for the last few months, for most of the comeback actually.

‘It’s an insight on Tyson Fury as a husband, as a father, as a son, as a boxer, and as an every day person, a real behind the scenes show of my life.’

He added: ‘Tommy doesn’t make an appearance, he might, but Tommy’s got his won TV show going on I believe as well.’

Looks like fans will just have to tune in to find out.

Tommy and Molly-Mae have been living it up in the US after Molly-Mae jetted off to New York to attend Pretty Little Thing’s fashion week show.

After Tommy flew out to join his girlfriend, they extended their trip to enjoy a few days in Las Vegas too.

After flying for five hours across to the West Coast, the couple explored Vegas in the sunshine before stopping off for one of those naps that go on for a lot longer than they were meant to.

It’s good news for The Walking Dead fans as Daryl and Carol are set to be focussed on a whole lot more in the upcoming 10th season.

Showrunner Angela Kang has revealed ahead of the show’s return that she ‘loves’ the two characters, played by Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, together and that they’re ‘one of the strongest’ pairings in the AMC zombie series.

‘We’re going to see a lot of Daryl and Carol in season 10,’ Angela said. ‘Both together in stories as well as pursuing their own paths.’

This begins with Carol grieving the loss of her adopted son Henry (Matthew Lintz), who was killed off by Alpha (Samantha Morton) at the end of season nine.

‘They trust each other, they love each other, they are truly best friends,’ she continued.

‘They have just this special bond. They both came from trauma and from nothing.’

Giving fans an insight into what’s in store for Daryl and Carol, Angela continued to Entertainment Weekly: ‘There’s some really deep stuff between them.

‘There’s funny stuff and then there’s stuff that gets pretty hairy. They’re just kind of on this adventure together.’

Although Angela kept her lips sealed on whether or not a fully-fledged romance will take place, she did acknowledge that ‘obviously there’s a lot of fans that wish for more.’

We’ve got our fingers crossed for these two.

Spoilers have previously revealed that Daryl is out for blood after the savage deaths of a dozen survivors at the end of season nine.

In the animated trailer released just yesterday, he leads the pack with a plan to bring the enemy down once and for all.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 7 and will follow a day later on FOX UK.

Comedian Katherine Ryan took no prisoners at the TV Choice Awards – with even Paul Hollywood’s Summer Monteys-Fullam split being put in her crosshairs.

The Canadian stand-up hosted the swanky awards bash on Monday night and in her signature cutting style she mocked Love Island’s ability to sell cheap clothes, and declared Keith Lemon a sexual harasser.

But in another moment, she turned her attention to the ‘Old Blue Eyes’ of Great British Bake Off, mocking the age difference between him and ex-girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam, and their less-than-friendly split at the end of July.

‘Bake Off is back but I can’t talk about it because Paul Hollywood has asked me to sign an NDA,’ the host jested, before turning it into the most innuendo-laden takedown in the history of man.

She joked: ‘All I can tell is that I love his chunky nuts and his whopping loaf, he gives great penetration on the drizzle and he doesn’t shy away from giving his lady friends a sogging.’

‘I’m joking, these are famous bake off innuendos,’ Katherine added.  ‘I’m way too old to date Paul.’

Savage.

For those keeping up to date, Paul, 53, and Summer, 24, ended their relationship after she reportedly refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement over their romance.

She later sued him for ‘highly defamatory statements’ made publicly about her, after he accused her of selling stories about them to the press and ‘courting paps’.

Things got even messier with Paul hiding his cars, and making her sell her horse that he’d bought her.

He’s since reportedly tried to patch things up with her over text. 

So those in attendance at the TV Choice should have expected nothing less from the Katherine, whose Netflix special Glitter Room is full of her own special brand of takes on pop culture.

Among Katherine’s past targets have been Celine Dion’s late husband over their 26-year age gap, comparing him to R Kelly, and Cheryl Cole’s battle with malaria.

She also managed to convince the nation she had become victim to the world’s worst bum lift, in a conversation about how easily fake news spreads.

Netflix has announced three new cast additions for The Umbrella Academy season two.

Based on the graphic novels by Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy became one of Netflix’s biggest new shows of the year – seeing seven superheroes born from a cosmic event prepare to face the end of the world.

Joining the fray for the second season will be new cast member Ritu Arya (Humans) as character Lila, who is described as a ‘chameleon who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires’.

Yusuf Gatewood (Good Omens) will play Raymond, who is ‘a born leader with the smarts, gravitas, and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone’ and has the ability to ‘disarm you with a look’.

Marin Ireland plays character Sissy, who is described as a ‘fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons’.

Interestingly, none of these characters are from the original comic – so the second season looks set to make some unexpected deviations from the source material.

The new trio are set to join returning cast members Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, and Aidan Gallagher.

Steve Blackman will be back as showrunner on The Umbrella Academy season two, which kicked off filming in June earlier this year.

The Umbrella Academy season two is expected to release on Netflix in 2020.

Netflix has released a new supercut of Jesse Pinkman’s harrowing journey so far ahead of new Breaking Bad movie El Camino.

After actor Aaron Paul previously pointed to a painful scene for Jesse as an essential watch before the new movie, Netflix is playing up to the same motif with a new trailer.

The three-minute clip recaps Jesse Pinkman’s heartbreak over Breaking Bad’s five seasons, including the deaths of Jane, Andrea, and his showdown with Walter White (Bryan Cranston).

While it’s a pretty handy (if incredibly bleak) recap, it’s also interesting how marketing seems to be playing up Jesse’s pain up – indicating he could be about to make some chaotic decisions in the forthcoming movie.

Aaron Paul is set to reprise the role for El Camino, although it’s unclear whether Bryan Cranston will be making an appearance despite Walter White kicking the bucket.

The new movie picks up after the season five finale Felina, which saw Jesse escape his white supremacist captors in a Chevrolet El Camino and drive to freedom.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie releases 11 October on Netflix.

Welcome to The Great British Cook Off. Wait, I mean Bake Off.

Ahh bread week…There’s something a little magical about warm bread straight out of the oven, it’s homely and comforting and the best type of carb.

The French buy two loaves and consume one en route as they head home and keep the second to be shared with family – that’s the beauty of bread.

It has a life of its own, created from fresh yeast, and can take hours, sometimes days, before it decides it’s ready. 

It requires patience, creativity, a gentle but firm hand, and a staunch belief that it’ll be worth it in the end. It always is. 

If the tent wasn’t so stressful, bread-making would be therapeutic. There’s something about elasticated dough that reminds me of those putty videos on YouTube.

But for our bakers, they have the extra worry that they’re on Paul’s home turf, and this is definitely a disadvantaged away game.  

As Helena says, we all love bread, but how often do we make it ourselves? I highly recommend that you give it a whirl, there’s nothing quite like it. 

The great thing with bread week is it isn’t just about a simple loaf. There are so many flavours and options to choose from – chicken and pesto bread is basically a meal in itself.  

Back to Bake Off where geography was the hot topic this week much to geography teacher Alice’s delight – Africa, Turkey, Mediterranea – or is it Mediterranean? ITALY!

Just like Alice, I found bread week to be a high intensity gym session. The pounding, kneading and rolling of dough definitely gives one strong arms.

Bread week back in my day was all about dampfnudel and it was the best poached bready dessert I’ve had, considering I had a burnt bottom on mine. 

Just when we thought we’d seen it all when it comes to bread week technicals, there are veggie burgers in the tent. I think this is a cunning plan from the judges to have their main course as well as their puddings.

While I’ve never made a bap, I agree with David: we can all appreciate the power of pert buns…

Henry is winning points from me this week, with expressions like ‘borderline thrilled’ and following in my nipple bakes trend (my madeleine’s looked like nipples – I promise!) with his tear and share boob bread.

It was just a shame his execution was a little off… he should have listened to his mum when she said it was just ‘fine’!

For the showstopper, there were some solid creative options, more animals (there’s going to be a bake off spin off animal show at this rate!) and a couple of African tributes. 

I liked Rosie’s animal designs, with her grey elephant loaf – definitely the most original loaf I’ve seen this year! It’s certainly up there with Paul’s Lion bread. 

We were also treated to not one, but two Paul Hollywood Handshakes™ this episode. 

I recall my first handshake was in week four – batter week. 

How to describe it? It’s a firm grip, yet warm. Short, but feels like an eternity. 

Okay, back in the room and less of the poetic description. In short, it’s a proper handshake. It would be disappointing if it was a ‘wet fish’, especially for a macho man like himself, but this isn’t the case. This could be down to years of experience in bread baking and handling dough.

Technically the first one this week might not really count as Henry – maintaining his best dressed title for a second week – had a golden handshake from Paul before he’d even baked anything while he and Paul bonded over his hard-to-impress mum. Who knew that was the way to a handshake?

Drinking game for this season: Every time Helena declares that every day is Halloween! 

Michael deservedly earned the second handshake (fine, it’s the first actual one) and I thought he might burst for joy – a bit like one of his showstopper loaves.

He was my star baker this week. He’s really come into his own and I’m excited to see how he progresses. Amelia had a rough week, but the tent is a fickle beast and sometimes it just doesn’t go to plan. 

The bakers are turning it up a notch and I have a feeling there will be a high demand for chili after this season. The judges are struggling with the heat and it’s not coming from the weather!

Thoughts this week:

An unfair comment from Paul during the showstopper of  ‘all style no substance’. Ironic for a challenge based on bread scoring, which is an art form in itself. But we move on and learn as feedback is always constructive.

Drinking game for this season: Every time Helena declares that every day is Halloween! 

Cheesiest puns: ‘I knead to calm down’  and ‘’The proof is in the dough.’

Middle class line of the week: ‘We’ve got a pesto corner going on over here.’

Petition: David to star in Ghost, remake. Pottery and baking, he certainly is handy.

It must take a lot to be banned from one of the happiest and chilled places on earth, but Anna Faris has claimed she was once barred from returning to New Zealand.

The comedian and actor was in the nation filming her animated comedy Yogi Bear in 2010 when she had a run-in with catcallers, which ended up getting her on the no-no list.

Speaking on the Life Is Short podcast with Justin Long, the 42-year-old recalled receiving a letter from the Minister Of Tourism saying she apparently wasn’t welcome back in the country.

Anna said: ‘I didn’t get kicked out, that sounds so dramatic, I didn’t get kicked out.

‘I did Yogi Bear there and I was walking and it was a long shoot and there were days… most days I only said, “Yogi!” So, you know, very fulfilling.’

She continued she was invited to a Queens Of The Stone Age concert, which wasn’t really her bag, but after filming she needed a little interaction.

‘That’s not necessarily my jam but I left early, I had to go to bed,’ Anna added.

‘I was walking back… I was wearing jeans and a T-shirt and a backpack. And a car drives by and these dudes yell out like, “Show us your t**ts”, but in a New Zealand accent.’

Anna said it all ‘felt a little random’ but then another car drove past and its passengers apparently yelled out: ‘We wanna f**k your p***y.’

Delightful.

‘I recounted this story, because it was the only one I had, on this very short-lived George Lopez show,’ she added.

‘And then I got a letter from the Minister of Tourism Of New Zealand that I was no longer welcome in their country.’

After realising her comments about the incident may have been misunderstood, Anna wrote a letter to the minister, saying she jokingly wrote: ‘We have a lot of ding dongs here in America as well.’

All was soon resolved and she was allowed to visit the country, even filming an air safety video for Air New Zealand – basically, she’s a surrogate Kiwi.

Still, the former Prime Minister of NZ, John Key, who was also the Minister Of Tourism at the time said it would have been ‘unlikely’ a letter of this ilk would have been sent Anna.

Either way, makes for an entertaining podcast story.
