‘As this is the first chart of the 2020s, she becomes the first artist in history to rule the chart in four separate decades: 1990s, 2000s, 2010s & 2020s.’
Mariah responded to the tweet, saying: ‘Yaaaaaaaaay!!! WE. DID. IT. But…. what’s a decade?’
She then shared her celebrations with fans, posting a video of her and her team toasting to the news with flutes of champagne outside her private jet.
Because, how else would you imagine Mariah celebrating pretty much anything?
She captioned the video: ‘Celebrating on the move!’ as she shared a video of her friends whooping in the snowy landscape.
All I Want For Christmas was first released in 1994, becoming her 19th number one song on the Billboard chart.
She told Billboard about the 25th anniversary of the song: ‘We definitely wanted to kick it into high gear this year with the song to celebrate the 25th anniversary, but I definitely didn’t expect it to hit No. 1 two weeks before Christmas.
‘I just want to thank everybody. I want the world to have the best holiday ever.’
Mariah has been away on a snowy holiday with her children over the Christmas period, and we’ve no doubt breaking another record will have been a pretty epic extra present for the pop diva.

Slick said her legs became ‘numb’ during her night out (Picture: Slick Woods, Instagram, Getty Images)
Fenty Beauty model Slick Woods has revealed she is using a wheelchair after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
The 23-year-old, who rose to fame as a model for Rihanna’s make-up brand, shared a video of herself sitting in a wheelchair while smiling and joking around with friends.
On Monday night, the model enjoyed a night out with friends when she was provided with a wheelchair by plush New York City hotel The London after struggling to walk.
‘Legs numb left hand still numb I hate b******t and the London gave me a wheelchair,’ Slick captioned the video.
In a series of Instagram stories, the model joked around with friends and insisted the wheelchair would not stop her from enjoying her night.
‘I’m going to the strip club with a wheelchair, I don’t give a f**k about nothing,’ she said confidently.
Slick was flooded with uplifting messages from her celebrity friends, including rapper Cardi B who commented: ‘We LOVE YOU !!!!!!!! And I got your Ugg’s .My mom FaceTime me the package I’m wearing them when I get to NY ! [sic].’
Slick is still in good spirits despite her health battle (Picture: WireImage)
Actress Taraji P Henson left several strong-arm and praying emojis while Lala Anthony and model Jasmine Sanders aka Golden Barbie were among the other stars who left supportive messages.
Back in November, Slick revealed the news of her cancer diagnosis and said: ‘How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it.’
But showing her sense of humour even in the most heartbreaking situations, Slick joked with the hashtag: ‘#atleastimalreadybald.’
The American model, who is mother to one-year-old son Saphir, did not reveal what type of cancer she has but she reportedly told The Shade Room that she is ‘battling stage 3 melanoma cancer’ and that it is allegedly ‘spreading’.

Madonna has apparently been dating Ahlamalik for a while (Picture: Backgrid)
The dad of Madonna’s new 25-year-old boyfriend has defended the 36-year age gap, as Ahlamalik Williams headed on holiday with the 61-year-old Material Girl’s family.
The pair were first spotted together earlier this year but have actually been working together since 2015, when Ahlamalik joined her as a backing dancer.
Since then he’s also starred in her music video for God Control. Although they haven’t confirmed their relationship, Ahlamalik’s dad has claimed the pair have been dating for over a year.
Speaking to TMZ, the dancer’s dad Drue Williams said: ‘Love has no age.
‘My son is livin’ la Vida Loca, and I’m just happy for him.’
Fair play.
Drue claimed he’s even met the singer, who ‘personally cooked’ for his family after inviting them all back to her suite following one of her shows.
Ahlamalik’s dad has spoken out, after his son was seen cosying up to Madonna (Picture: madonna/Instagram)
Oh, and she’s ‘already invited the family to her early 2020 shows in London and France’. That’s generous!
She was videoed treading water surrounded by Ahlamalik, son David, 14, and daughters Mercy, 13, Estere and Stelle, both seven. The Isla Bonita singer captioned the video: ‘Family Water Therapy!…………… #fun #healing.’
The pair were seen landing in London (Picture: Splash News)
She posted endless clips on her Instagram story, and for some reason wrote ‘#fun #healing’ on every single one of them.
Earlier this month Madonna was seen relaxing at her hotel ahead of playing Miami in her Madame X World Tour when she was joined by Ahlamalik, who was pictured giving the singer a massage.
He’s not the first younger man we’ve seen the Like A Virgin singer go for. She’s also been connected with Brahim Zalibat, then 23, Timor Steffens, then 26, and model Kevin Sampaio, then 31.
Earlier this month the Hung Up star cancelled three shows in Boston, America, and took to Instagram to explain ‘the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctors orders so I can come back stronger and better’.
‘Please forgive this unexpected turn of events,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me, but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame X journey with all of you.’

The Ready Steady Cook reboot will be more sustainable than ever (Picture: PA)
It’s been announced that the Ready Steady Cook reboot will shift its focus onto environmental issues as it hopes to be one of the most sustainable shows on TV.
With the show set to launch in the new year, the BBC has announced that the series will now aim to be more sustainable both on and off-screen.
This will include changes such as scrapping the iconic red and green pepper plastic bags, single-use plastics being replaced with plastic alternatives and the introduction of colour-coded waste bins both on-set and backstage.
Speaking on the changes, host Rylan said: ‘One of the biggest sustainability issues we face is from food and packaging waste.’
‘Ready Steady Cook is being brought bang up to date to play its part in tackling this,’ he continued.
‘It’s going to be goodbye plastic bags and hello jute totes when we hit screens in the New Year. I can’t wait to get stuck in!’
The original show ran for more than 1,000 episodes (Picture: BBC)
The show will also reflect contemporary food themes in the new run of episodes; from budgeting food, managing food waste to feed the whole family and more generally mirroring the changes in food and British cooking over the past decade.
Aldo Zilli, who appeared on the original series, thinks it needs more people with ‘character,’ and accused bosses of ‘playing it safe’ with Rylan’s hiring.
He told The Mirror: ‘I think it is going to be a flop. People want to see people that have got character, like me.
‘I did the last series. I have done a lot of them. A hundred percent, it would have been nice if they had got some of the old chefs back.’
Despite being replaced, however, original host Ainsley has already given the reboot his blessing, handing over the metaphorical apron and wooden spoon to the in-demand presenter.
Ready Steady Cook returns to BBC One in 2020.

‘It’ll have a very over-the-top nursery – come on, it’s The GC’s baby,’ she told New! magazine. ‘My only worry is what if it comes out and it’s really boring?
‘That would get me very nervous. I hope she’s like me.’
When she does eventually have a son or daughter, The GC won’t be taking any chances when it comes to their safety, as she added: ‘The baby will have its own team of security guards and I’m not even joking.’
Most people who have money too spare get a nanny, but whatever floats her boat…
We highly doubt that any child of The GC could ever be considered boring (Picture: Rex Features)
She told the Daily Star: ‘I can’t go shopping like I did before I was famous. It has to be planned now. I can’t walk around a shopping centre.
‘Even when I have four security guards with me, shoppers run towards me. It’s fun, but it’s difficult when you’re trying to get your bits.
‘I believe it would be considered a safety risk. It would be death by kisses and hugs. People all want to hug me. They want to touch The GC!’

Let’s be honest here – 2020 has some serious shoes to fill when it comes to TV, because 2019 absolutely smashed it.
But judging by what we already know is coming, we’re already fully prepped and coming up with excuses about why we can skip out nights out to watch telly instead.
Whether it’s the return of Doctor Who kicking things off, to a whole slate of Netflix content ensuring we keep that subscription fee rolling each month, there’s something for everyone.
Reality TV? We’ve got you covered. Romcoms? Bring it on. Sci-fi? There’s buckets full. Heck there’s even a fair bit of horror and true crime to chuck in for good measure.
So what have we got coming up this year? Here’s all the best telly we’ve got to look forward to…
The new series will have ‘space for all’ (Picture: BBC / BBC Studios)
1) Doctor Who (1 January on BBC One)
Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor and her band of friends Graham (Bradley Walsh), Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Yaz (Mandip Gill) are kicking 2020 off with a bang, and some new adventures in time and space.
Expect to see some pretty big name guest stars this series, with the likes of Stephen Fry and Sir Lenny Henry appearing, as well as Goran Visnjic and Robert Glenister making an appearance.
You’ll also be seeing some old friends and foes – with the rhino-aliens The Judoon, and Cybermen, confirmed to be making a comeback.
The dark and twisted adaptation will make its way onto screens from 1 Jan (Picture: BBC/Hartswood Films/Netflix/Robert Viglasky)
2) Dracula (1, 2 and 3 January on BBC One)
Sherlock creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffatt have come together to bring a brand new spin on the dark vampire tale Dracula.
Setting the tone for the year going forward, the three-part series will air on consecutive nights starting from 1 January.
Claes Bang will play the titular immortal bloodsucker, who we meet in 1897 alongside English lawyer Jonathan Harker, who travels to Transylvania to meet his new client.
The new series promises ‘re-introduce the world to Dracula, the vampire who made evil sexy’, and even used second-hand sex toys for reasons we’re yet to discover.
3) The Masked Singer UK (4 January on ITV)
The celebrity singing competition has been a massive hit in South Korea and America, and now it’s heading in our direction too.
Each participant will appear every week in intricate costumes that deliberately designed to hide or distort distinguishing features – including body shape, colour, race and gender, which could all be giveaways to who they really are.
Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong are the judges on the panel trying to hunt down the real identities of who’s underneath each outfit.
Kelly Osbourne, Seal, Michelle Williams and Gladys Knight have previously taken part in the US version.
It’s bonkers and we love it.
The Greatest Dancer: Series 2 (4 January on BBC One)
We have our first clash of the ratings war early this year with The Greatest Dancer going against The Masked Singer.
Coming back bigger and better than ever before, this time US dancer/singer/all-round entertainer Todrick Hall will be joining the judges panel.
Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard will be acting as receptionist during the dancing competition as well.
Cheryl, Matthew Morrison and Todrick have definitely got a fight on their hands.
This year’s Dancing On Ice stars are ready for action (Picture: Rex/PA/Getty)
4) Dancing On Ice (5 January on ITV)
Dancing On Ice is still finding its legs a little bit but is breaking down barriers this season with the first blind contestant, and the first same sex coupling.
Celebs taking on potentially death-defying stunts as they perform routines each week is always a nail-biter, so it’s perfect Sunday night telly.
Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Joe Swash, Michael Barrymore and Caprice Bourret are among this year’s stars taking part.
Who will be brave enough to try the headbanger? or even better, who is the one most likely to pull a GC and go flying across the ice in the middle of their routine?
Only one way to find out…
AJ And The Queen (10 January on Netflix)
RuPaul is trading in judging queens to going back to her roots as a travelling drag superstar all on her own as part of new series, AJ and the Queen.
Mama Ru plays Robert, who at night becomes dazzling star Ruby Red, a fabulous drag queen that over the years has managed to save up $100,000 to open their own nightclub.
However, after being swindled by pals and left with no one when their boyfriend leaves, Robert takes to the road with an unexpected stowaway in young child, AJ.
Expect a lot of cameos from Drag Race alumni as they make a trip across the US in an RV, and a lot of tears and life lessons.
Queue all the hijinks.
Sex Education is back for more drama (Picture: Netflix)
5) Sex Education: Season 2 (11 January on Netflix)
Coming of age laugh riot Sex Education is back for more trouble – and this time there’s a chlamydia outbreak at the school.
Otis (Asa Butterfield) and best mate Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) are still navigating their awkward teens, made worse with their frosty friendship breaking down with business partner Maeve (Emma Mackey).
Chuck in a new girlfriend, your overtly sexual mum (the incomparible Gillian Anderson) getting a new boyfriend, and the upcoming exams and it’s safe to say things are complicated.
So much for a quiet life in the outskirts of Wales.
Who’s going to be heading off to South Africa this winter? (Picture: ITV)
6) Love Island (12 January on ITV2)
Love Island is gracing us with not one, but two villas full of singletons in 2020 – but the one we’re excited to see most is the first ever Winter Love Island.
Moving over to South Africa to make sure the reality stars stick to their bikini and bathers uniforms, we’ll get a brand new villa and a lot of new drama.
The format will largely remain the same despite the new location, except with new host Laura Whitmore after Caroline Flack had to withdraw.
Iain Stirling will still be around too to throw some sarcastic wit our way as the voiceover for the show’s shenanigans.
If it doesn’t work out, we can always return to sunny, sunny Mallorca in the summer.
Captain Picard is brought back into adventure to protect a young girl (Picture: CBS All Access)
7) Star Trek: Picard (24 January on Amazon Prime Video)
Something for Sir Patrick Stewart and Star Trek fans everywhere, Picard will see what’s been going on with the iconic captain after his retirement.
Running for 10 episodes, Picard follows the events of Star Trek: Next Generation, where the elderly captain has set up home in his vineyard, willing the days away in his new content life.
But he is soon joined by a mysterious young woman Dahj in the new chapter of his life, who he seeks to help after coming to believe is in imminent danger.
Santiago Cabrera will play Cristobal “Chris” Rios, and will be joined by Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Evan Evagora.
Among the things awaiting the series is the return of another fan favourite character, Data (Brent Spiner), and Seven Of Nine, who were spotted in the first trailer released for the upcoming franchise addition.
Jennifer Saunders will be taking on her first dramatic role on the series (Picture: Getty)
8) The Stranger (30 January, Netflix)
The Stranger is the second Netflix adaptation of a Harlen Coben novel, following on from 2018’s Safe, which starred Michael C Hall and Amanda Abingdon.
This time around, Jennifer Saunders will be taking on her first dramatic role in the eight-part thriller based on the 2015 book of the same name.
Richard Armitage will play leading man, Adam Price, who seems to have the perfect life until he meets a stranger in a bar (played by Ant Man’s Hannah John-Kamen) who tells him a ‘devastating secret’ about his wife.
Netflix teases: ‘Soon Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corinne’s deception, and realises that if he doesn’t make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he’s stumbled into will not only ruin lives — it will end them.’
The Umbrella Academy is back! (Picture: Netflix)
9) The Umbrella Academy: Season 2 (release date: unknown, Netflix)
Last we saw of The Umbrella Academy, they were being zapped through a vortex into somewhere unknown after saving the world from the apocalypse.
The anti-hero family have definitely got their work cut out from them wherever they end up – which if they stick to the comic books, is actually JFK-era Dallas around the time of the assassination.
We have a lot of questions for the insanely fun and twisted tale based on the comic books by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way.
But we know whatever happens, it’s going to have one hell of a killer soundtrack.
10) The Crown: Season 4 (release date: unknown, Netflix)
After Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Josh O’Connor and co took over the reigns of the Royal family in season three, it’s safe to say we’re getting excited for some of the more scandalous years.
Throw in the upcoming arrival of Gillian Anderson as The Iron Lady herself, Margaret Thatcher, and Emma Corrin as Lady (soon to be Princess) Diana, and there’s a lot of ground to cover.
The upcoming season will also be the current cast’s final bow, before being entirely replaced as a time-jump takes effect for seasons five and six.
It’s time to bid farewell to the Roses (Picture: POP TV)
11) Schitt’s Creek: Season 6 (UK release date: unknown, Netflix)
It seems like it’s only been recently that the world has caught on to the amazing sitcom that is Schitt’s Creek, and it’s now being taken away from us.
Going out on a high, the show follows a formerly rich family who are forced to adapt to their new life in a middle-of-nowhere town.
With television and film’s Moira Rose (Catherine O’Hara) and her fabulous wig collection leading the way, we’ve got a wedding to plan this year with David (Dan Levy) and Patrick (Noah Reid) tying the knot.
Then there’s Alexis (Annie Murphy) who was last saw getting ready to head to the Galapogos with her handsome vet Ted (Dustin Milligan).
In the US and Canada, it’s coming back on 7 January, so hopefully us Brits won’t have too long a wait to see what happens to the Roses.
Tony will continue to navigate grief after the loss of wife Lisa (Picture: Netflix)
12) After Life: Season 2 (release date: unknown, Netflix)
Ricky Gervais’s unexpectedly gut-punching comedy-drama on life after the death of a loved one took everyone by surprise in March 2019.
Renewed for a second season shortly after, we already know the show has been filming, so we can assume the show will return about the same time in 2020.
The new series will see Tony (Gervais) and his new band of friends continuing to navigate the complications of life together.
After realising that being horrible to people gets noone anywhere, Tony will get a new lease of life as he attempts to be better to people.
… We’re saying it now, if anything happens to the adorable pet dog, we’re rioting.
Little Mix are on the hunt for their 2020 tour support act (Picture: Getty)
13) Little Mix: The Search (release date: unknown, BBC One)
After finding fame, and each other on The X Factor back in 2011, Little Mix have been a pop force to be reckoned with.
Now they’re helping a new band form and spread their Wings (sorry… had to) with new BBC series Little Mix: The Search.
Let’s hope it does better than X Factor: The Band did…
Michael Sheen plays Chris Tarrant in the scandal adaptation (Picture: ITV)
14) Quiz (release date: unknown, ITV)
Quiz, a limited series based on the Charles Ingram coughing scandal on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, has already been praised before a release date has even been announced.
Michael Sheen took on quite the transformation to become quiz host Chris Tarrant, with Matthew McFadyen playing the disgraced contestant, and Fleabag’s Sian Clifford playing his wife, Diana.
Charles fronted the TV appearance in 2001 and it’s been alleged that Diana, alongside their pal Tecwen Whittock, would cough from the audience to tell him which answer was the right one.
Their plan initially paid off, and they walked away with the million pound jackpot until people started figuring out what they had got up to.
A release date has not been confirmed, but it’s estimated for a March/April release.
Stephen Merchant will play Grindr serial killer Stephen Port in the drama (Picture: BBC)
15) Four Lives (release date: unknown, BBC One)
Four Lives, originally called The Barking Murders, focuses on the sick crimes of Stephen Port, who murdered four men after meeting them on Grindr.
Called the Grindr Killer or the Chemsex Killer, Port would drug his victims before sexually assaulting and killing them.
Stephen Merchant plays the man in question, who got away with the murders due to police failing to connect them.
Also starring Jaime Winstone and Sheridan Smith, the show’s name was changed to focus and commemorate the victims lives instead of their deaths.
We’re ready, baby (Picture: BBC America)
16) Killing Eve: Season 3 (release date: unknown, BBC America)
It seems that Eve (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle (Jodie Comer) have hit a rough patch in their weird, twisted relationship… specifically the bullet in her back Eve got.
Villanelle’s dream of running off together with her former chaser was shattered, and now the pair who are helplessly addicted to each other are back to being enemies.
Then there’s Niko, who was also left in a less than helpful position, the member of the Twelve Eve hacked to death and poor Hugo (Edward Bluemel) being left for dead, it seems that the body count for the couple is only going to keep on climbing until one ends up dead.
But who’s going to bite the bullet (no pun intended) first? And whatever happened to just having dinner together to get to know each other?
17) Westworld: Season 3 (release date: unconfirmed, HBO)
The futuristic dystopia is back and this time there’s a World War II fantasy to live up to.
Aaron Paul is joining this year’s cast, as a construction worker called Caleb – but is he real or droid?
Speaking about the new episodes, showrunner Jonathan Nolan warned we’re about to see ‘something that we hadn’t seen before’ which, considering the anything goes reality of Westworld, is really saying something.
He said (via Deadline): ‘Dystopia can look pretty beautiful in the world. Just because the world is corrupt inside, doesn’t mean it can’t be smothered over and pretty.
‘We wanted to find a version of dystopia that we hadn’t seen before.’
The trailer dropped in July but as of yet there’s still no news of when the show will return… which is just rude if you ask us.
We can’t WAIT to see how the celeb version turns out… (Picture: VH1)
We love ourselves some Drag Race over here at Metro.co.uk, so when we heard chat of a celebrity series on the way? Well… you know we were gagged.
How the format will work is still not known – we’re assuming that it’s going to be a big like the now defunct Drag U, where they learn as they go.
Seeing as some of the judges have been more than eager to get up on that catwalk, we can’t help but wonder who will be signing up and just how extra they’re going to get.
We’re not sure when to expect the series to arrive, but we’re assuming somewhere between season 12 of Drag Race, season 5 of All Stars, and before they start filming Drag Race UK season 2.
Is there such a thing as too much drag?
Lucifer has gone to hell but for how long? (Picture: Netflix)
19) Lucifer: Season 5 (release date: unknown, Netflix)
It’s the beginning of the end for Tom Ellis’s handsome devil – and after finding love with Chloe Decker (Lauren German) at the end of season 4, he’s not going quietly.
It’s already been confirmed that season five will be the show’s last, but Netflix have since extended the episode run to 16, and then split it in half (so we kind of get two seasons).
Season 5a is expected soon, and will see Lucifer adapt to his new life as the king of Hell – while Chloe and the Detective team adapt to life without him around.
Somehow we don’t think it’s going to be long until we see him make a reappearance in LA.
We’re ready to see our Deckerstar back together to be honest.
Everything could change in the fifth season of Outlander (Picture: Starz)
20) Outlander: Season 5 (17 February, Amazon Prime Video)
Outlander has had a bit of delay in the arrival of its fifth season but we’re sure the wait will be worth it.
Amazon Prime Video dropped the trailer for the new installment back in October, giving us a teaser of our favourite characters tback together again.
The future (well, technically the past) certainly looks bleak for Claire and Jamie’s family as they must band together to survive.
There’s also stronger hints than ever that a journey in time will happen and our heroine seems pretty determined to keep her brood safe. Whether that’s the future’s advanced weapons or medication, we’ll have to find out.
We’re more than ready for Better Call Saul (Picture: Netflix)
21) Better Caul Saul: Season 5 (23 February, Netflix)
Like Outlander, Better Call Saul’s season five release date was also pushed back.
Back in April, bosses announced that the Breaking Bad spin-off had been held off in order to accommodate the ‘talent’s needs’, and then we were treated to the film El Camino in the interim.
The official synopsis teases: ‘Jimmy finally makes the decision that changes everything — to practice law as “Saul Goodman.” And this decision will soon create unexpected and profound waves of change for everyone in his world.’
Yep, we’re counting down the days until this one airs.
What’s the hold up for Inside No 9 (Picture: BBC)
22) Inside No. 9: Season 5 (release date: unknown, BBC One)
We’ve been waiting on tenterhooks for the BBC to confirm a release date for the fifth series of Inside No. 9 and sadly, we’re still waiting.
Co-creator Steve Pemberton confirmed in June that the brand new chapter is ready to go.
‘We have done a new series, which is all edited and ready to go, so that should be on in the autumn,’ he told Radio Times at The South Bank Show Live.
What’s the hold up?
We’re psyched for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (Picture: Disney)
23) The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Season 1 (release date: unknown, Disney+)
This show is due on Disney+ sometime in August and will see The Falcon and The Winter Soldier team up for a series of missions and adventures – loosely based on the comic books of the same name.
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are set to reprise their roles as Falcon and Winter Soldier, respectively, from the film series.
Meanwhile, Daniel Brühl has been confirmed to return as villain Zemo, while Emily VanCamp will also come back as Sharon Carter.
‘A more intense, more insane, more wrenching, more character-driven season,’ he said. ‘It’s my one and only goal to make season two even better than season one.’
26) Nine Perfect Strangers (release date: unknown, Hulu in US)
Nine Perfect Strangers is a Hulu adaption of Liane Moriarty’s latest novel and we are so pumped for its arrival.
The story takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine burnt-out city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living.
Watching over them during their 10-day stay is the resort’s director Masha (played by Nicole Kidman). Over the course of their stay, things start to take a turn and it gets pretty darn wild.
Nicole Kidman joined the star-studded cast back in July 2018 and the series is expected to land toward the end of 2020.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is returning for an interactive episode in 2020.
Yep, that’s right, we’re getting our very own Kimmy styled choose-your-own-adventure – and just when we thought it had been dead and buried forever.
In May, show creator Tina Fey confirmed that Kimmy (Ellie Kemper), Titus (Tituss Burgess), Jacqueline (Jake Krakowski) and Lilian (Carol Kane) will be back on our screens and we’ll get to choose their jokes.
The Nest is going to have us totally hooked (Picture: BBC)
28) The Nest (release date: unknown, BBC One)
A wealthy couple and a teenage girl make a pact that will change all of their lives forever in this new five-part drama.
Line of Duty’s Martin Compston and Gentleman Jacks’ Sophie Rundle lead the cast and together, they play couple Dan and Emily, a husband and wife who are so desperate for a child they ask a teenage girl to carry their baby.
By chance, the couple meets 18-year-old Kaya who lives at the other end of town and whose life is a lot more precarious than theirs. Kaya agrees to carry their baby, but there’s a mystery around who Kaya really is and what has brought her into the couple’s lives.
A start date for this thriller has not yet been confirmed, so sit tight folks.

After making quite the controversial spin into cinemas, Cats is set to lose Universal $71million (£54m), according to reports.
The film, which is based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical of the same name, only managed to gross $6.5m (£5m) in the United States on its opening weekend against its $95m (£73m) budget, and has notably received scathing reviews from critics, who criticised the film’s plot and use of ‘digital fur technology’.
Now, according to Deadline, finance sources have claimed the Universal title is ‘bound to lose $71m’ – if the flick reaches the $100m (£76m) box office mark ($40m [£30m] domestic, $60m [£45m] abroad).
The publication claimed ‘this is based off a production cost of $90m (£68m) net and a $115m (£87m) estimated global P&A (publicity and advertising) spend’.
According to Box Office Mojo, the film has currently grossed just over $38m (£28m) at the worldwide box office, after its 20 December opening.
The Tom Hooper-directed musical fantasy, which stars the likes of James Corden, Idris Elba and Taylor Swift was slammed by critics with one claiming it was the ‘worst thing to happen to cats since dogs’.
The film currently has an average of just 20% on Rotten Tomatoes (an improvement on its previous 19%, at least) but for Jason Derulo, who plays the Rum Tum Tugger, what the critics have to say is insignificant.
‘Reviews don’t matter,’ the singer-turned-actor insisted. ‘At the end of the day, the people are going to go see it, there’s going to be a deportation to another dimension.
‘When it came out on Broadway, it was the same thing, people were like, “what is this, this is something totally different”.’
He continued to TMZ: ‘Anytime that you defy the rules there’s going to be some pushback, obviously.
‘It’s an incredible piece of art done by some of the best people in the world.
‘Tom Hooper’s a class act and I don’t think there’s another director out there who’s more classy than he is.
‘I’m just excited for the people to actually see it, because reviewers, what the hell do they know? Have they made a film ever in their lives?’

It seems her plea worked perfectly as Bumble announced they had unblocked Sharon’s account and even invited her round to their headquarters for tea.
Liz Song, a representative for the company, confirmed the relieving news and told Forbes: ‘Being the icon that she is, we can understand how so many of our users felt it was too good to be true once they noticed her profile wasn’t photo verified.
‘Photo verification is just one of the many ways to connect with confidence in Bumble. In light of our mixup with Sharon Stone, we’d like to extend an invitation for her to come to Austin and allow us to host her at the hive for a few hours of profile prep and great food.’
We’ll take the offer if Sharon’s too busy.
Bumble also announced the news of Sharon’s reinstatement on Twitter and said: ‘There can only be one [queen] Stone. Looks like our users thought you were too good to be true.
‘We’ve made sure that you won’t be blocked again. We hope that everyone in our community takes a sec to verify their profiles. (Catherine Tramell from Basic Instinct gets a pass today!)’
But Sharon wasn’t going to let the ordeal slide without delivering some brilliant sass as she tweeted a link to her speech at the GQ Awards in November after being crowned woman of the year.
‘Dear Bumble, you are confusing my honesty with your fantasy. This is a disservice to the men and women who partake in @bumble. I am Sharon, I am a woman. Thank you.’
Yes. Woman.
Sharon clearly has a new outlook about love and dating as we approach the New Year, as she previously said she had no interest in seeking out a partner.
‘I think somewhere in the back of your mind you think maybe one day you won’t be a single parent. Then, eventually, you see, I think it’s better. I’m no longer hoping for someone,’ the actress explained.
The 61-year-old has been married twice – to Michael Greenburg between 1984 and 1990, and Phil Bronstein from 1998 until 2004. She is mother to three children – Roan, 19, Laird, 14, and Quinn, 13.

Good Morning Britain sparked debate among viewers after discussing whether children should be allowed to drink alcohol at home for New Year’s Eve.
Hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins revealed that it wasn’t illegal for children over the age of five to be given alcohol at home, as they discussed the issue with Nicola McLean and Towie’s Clare Brockett.
Nicola McLean revealed she had had her first drink aged 12 – but she wouldn’t let her 13-year-old son drink alcohol with her at home.
She told viewers: ‘My 13-year-old, he is not emotionally old enough to drink alcohol, his brain’s still developing.
‘Why would I think that it was in any way acceptable to go “Yeah mate, come and sit down and have a glass of fizz with your mum”? It’s honestly just alien to me.
‘If he asked if he can try it, I’d be like, “Yeah, have a sip, no problem.” I’m not making it this forbidden fruit, but laws are there for a reason.
‘And I don’t care if they say five-year-olds can drink at home, I mean imagine my nine-year-old going on a Friday night, “Mum, can I crack open a beer?”
Nicola doesn’t let her 13-year-old son drink at home (Picture: Rex Features)
‘I would call social services if my friends were doing that, I genuinely would.’
Clare admitted she let her daughter have a drink at home from the age of 13 or 14, in order to not ‘demonise’ alcohol and make it more enticing to her child by forbidding it entirely.
TOWIE's @ClareBrockettX believes there's nothing wrong with letting children have an alcoholic drink to celebrate special occasions like New Year's Eve. pic.twitter.com/lZzPob0U0z
The opposing views sparked debate for viewers, who took to Twitter to say: ‘Brain still developing isn’t an excuse, the brain continues to develop until the age of 25’ and ‘Alcohol to under 17 years or 18 years is a NO NO …… no matter what the guidelines are.’
Others added: ‘Not being funny but if you don’t let them have one, they’ll find a way to get it! I remember when we were at family parties and if we were told no, we’d 100% as a group of kids find a crafty way to get a can out of the alcohol ice bin’.
Another posted: ‘The reaction to this just emphasises the British drink culture. The topic is can children have a drink of alcohol…not to get drunk! Too many people think you should only drink to get drunk. A few sips of bubbly at bells does no harm at all!’

While Chris Hemsworth decided to take some time from Hollywood to focus on his family, we didn’t realise times were so tough he’s had to resort to selling horse poo to get by.
Chilling at his beachside crib over the festive break, the Thor actor – who is estimated to be worth $130m (£98m) – advertised $2 (£1.07) bags of ‘horse poo’ – no false advertising there – and Chris himself was a personal salesman.
In a video uploaded to social media last week, the 36-year-old could be seen flexing those biceps as he carted off bags of the garden-loving stuff for punters keen to get some of the Hemsworth’s new business venture.
The dad was seen loading up the car with bags of manure (Picture: Instagram)
Packing them in the back of his pick-up, it seemed they’d cleared out the family stables – with Chris’s wife Elsa previously seen riding faithful steeds along the beach – with numerous bags of manure waiting to go.
The biceps were working overtime loading the wares (Picture: Instagram)
He really got a workout (Picture: Instagram)
At the sale site, a handwritten sign advertising the wares for a couple of bucks apiece also read: ‘Please don’t take sign,’ with the ‘please’ underlined several times to try and deter would-be thieves from nicking the famous dad’s ad.
It comes after Chris announced he’ll be depriving us of his devastating good looks and talent for, ooh, a solid ‘six to eight months’ so he can hang out with his family. Apparently his wife Elsa Pataky and their kids India, seven, and five-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan are more important than Hollywood film-making. Selfish, really.
Chris recently announced he was taking time out from Hollywood
‘I’m going to take some time off now – probably six to eight months – and just be at home,’ the star revealed on Australian breakfast show Sunrise.
Hemsy admitted he reached the decision earlier this year when he came to the end of the publicity tour for Avengers: Endgame.
‘I had a real, sort of, come down off the back of that press tour for Avengers and it was the most intense three weeks,’ he explained. ‘I realised that for so long I’d been sort of looking to the future and chasing what next… and then it hit me that, well, this is it.
‘The thing that I’ve worked for and dreamed of doing, and I’ve just got to enjoy this moment.’

Well, he’s got to do something while he’s laying by the pool.
Taking to his Instagram story, the 25-year-old started the whole thing by showing off his colourful Crocs, as well as a design on his knee which reads: ‘Better at 70’.
He then flaunted his sleeve tattoo, as well as a tattoo of two overlapping guns, with the words ‘Make em pay’.
It’s not entirely clear who he wants to pay, or how, but anyway…
Biebs also panned the camera up to his torso, which included two lions on his chest, crowns and a big bird.

He ended the tour by showing off a portrait of Jesus Christ and a pair of praying hands on his leg, set to Best Part by H.E.R.
The Sorry singer hasn’t blessed us with an album since way back in 2015, with Purpose, and has been musically quiet apart from the odd banger with Ed Sheeran and DJ Khaled.
But all that is about to change as he has a new song, album, tour and docu-series to release in 2020.
In a minute-long video, he explained: ‘As humans, we are imperfect. My past and my mistakes, all the things that I’ve been through.
‘I believe that I’m right where I’m supposed to be… and God has me right where he wants me.
‘I feel like this is different from the previous just because of where I am in my life.
‘I’m excited to perform on the tour… We all have different stories, I’m just excited to share mine. It’s the music that I’ve loved the most out of anything I’ve done.’
We are ready.

Let’s hope it’s not his good gun hand? (Picture: AMC)
The new trilogy of The Walking Dead movies starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes could achieve what their TV counterpart never could – quite literally severing Grimes from one of his hands.
In the source comics, the former Sherriff lost his right hand when it was chopped off by the Governer (played in the TV series by David Morrissey), although due to budgetary constraints, this event was never adapted in the TV show.
Creator Robert Kirkman has spoken before about the possibility of a do-over, and three action movies with a bigger budget than a TV show certainly seems like the right time to attempt this, right guys?
‘It’s entirely possible that we’ve closed the book on that issue right now but it could crop up in the future,’ he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014.
‘It is the bane of my existence in the comics because I’m constantly having to rewrite scenes that you can’t do with one hand.
‘I’m not going to rule it out; it could happen at some point but it certainly hasn’t happened yet.’
Rick is returning – possibly sans right hand – on the big screen (Picture: AMC)
Hopefully, the movies will see the grizzled survivor finally find his happy ending, as he was brutally killed off in Kirkman’s original comics – first being shot in bed by Sebastian Milton, then again by his son Carl when he arose as a Walker.
Kirkman has since defended the decision to kill off his leading man, telling Comicbook.com: ‘Rick Grimes fixed the world to the point where he was so safe that he could be killed by the weakest character in the book.
‘It’s a statement on how good of a job he did. At no point in the history of the comic could he have been killed that way.
‘It wasn’t until the very end that he was able to relax.’
The Walking Dead season 10 will return to AMC and Fox UK after a short break in 2020.

Eddie has some regret about his old jokes (Picture: CBS News, Getty Images)
Eddie Murphy might be one of the most talented comedians but even he admits to cringing at some of his past jokes, particularly offensive ones about gay people.
The Coming To America actor, who just made a successful return to Saturday Night Live, released his iconic Delirious stand-up special in 1983.
While the 70-minute show remains one of the most legendary stand-up specials, Eddie admits he regrets using homophobic slurs.
In one particular joke, Eddie says: ‘I have nightmares about gay people… I kid the homosexuals a lot ‘cause they’re homosexuals.’
Reflecting on his career in an interview with CBS, the 58-year-old stated: ‘Some of it I cringe when I watch it. I’m like, “Oh my God, I can’t believe I said that”’.’
After being shown clips of some of his more offensive jokes, the comic replied: ‘I’ve seen stuff that I’ll go, like, oh, that’s, ooh, yeah, you’ll get a joke that’s cringey.’
However, he’s not backtracking completely as he stated: ‘But that’s not to say that I don’t appreciate it. I still appreciate it.
‘And I’m looking at it within the context of the times, you know. And I’m going, okay, I’m a kid, saying that.’
The Dolemite Is My Name actor recently revealed that the iconic red suit he wore in the Delirious special has been ‘destroyed’ by Keenen Ivory Wayans, who ripped it when trying it on due to his larger frame.
Eddie’s Delirious special remains a comedy classic (Picture: CBS News)
In 2009, the Ride Along actor wrote: ‘Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice “stop that’s gay” [sic].’
The comedian addresses the controversy in his new Netflix documentary series, Don’t F**k This Up, and admits: ‘I missed an opportunity to say simply that I don’t condone any type of violence in any way, shape or form to anyone for being who they are.
‘I f**ked up… Instead I said: “I addressed it.” I said: “I apologised.’ I said: “I talked about this already.” I was just immature.’
Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Eddie will receive the Critics’ Choice lifetime achievement award for his phenomenal career.

In the year that Prince Andrew voluntarily cancelled Prince Andrew and Jennifer Aniston gave Friends fans fresh hopes of a reunion, Alan Carr somehow managed to combine the two polarising stories of 2019 for a joke which has really grossed us out and meant we’ll never look at the photo of the year in the same way ever again.
Cheers, Al.
Last night the Chatty Man challenged three pairs of celebrity guests – Michelle Visage and Jade Thirlwall, AJ and Curtis Pritchard, and Jaqueline Jossa and Kate Garraway, who were reunited two weeks after they left the jungle, with the I’m A Celebrity winner having a slight dig at her teammate – for a quiz looking back at some of the biggest headlines of the year.
We’ll never look at the Friends reunion in the same way ever again (Picture: Instagram)
Prince Andrew will be waving goodbye to the year he’d rather forget (Picture: BBC)
Alan got gasps from the audience when he opened the show by mocking one of the most disturbing scandals of the year – Prince Andrew’s car crash interview with Emily Matthias for Newsnight where he tried and failed to justify his relationship with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
‘Unbelievably I can remember where I was in every single day of 2019: I was at a birthday party in Pizza Express, Woking,’ Alan began in his opening monologue.
‘ And the internet kept getting broken by Jennifer Aniston when she posted this spectacular Friends reunion to become the fastest Instagram account to reach one million followers.
‘I’m still trying to work out if that hand on Courteney Cox’s back is Matt Le Blanc’s or Prince Andrew’s.’
*Takes down framed photograph of said Friends reunion.
While Jen teased the Friends cast are ‘working on something’, Andrew has been banished from all royal duties, so it’s a safe bet both sides will be having very different 2020s.
Alan Carr’s Re-Play 2019 is available to catch up on ITV Hub.

Paddy McGuinness and wife Christine share three children together (Picture: Getty)
Christine McGuinness has spoken out about the ‘awful’ aftermath of her family Christmas.
The 31-year-old shares daughter Felicity and twins Penelope and Leo with husband Paddy McGuinness, and previously revealed her excitement ahead of the festive period with her little ones.
But she explained that her six-year-old twins, who were diagnosed with autism in 2017, weren’t prepared for the holidays to end.
Sharing a snap of herself on Instagram, the model began: ‘Walking away from Christmas … Last week I told how proud I was to have a Christmas tree up at home, I am still very proud that my children coped well over Christmas as they struggle so much with sensory overload, anxiety, they become easily overwhelmed.
‘But, I wasn’t ready for the aftermath following Christmas Day, it has been awful.
‘I think I prepared them so much for Christmas Day, I didn’t prepare them for it to end,’ she continued.
‘I know many of you with Autistic children will understand, I’m still learning everyday and next year will be better again.
‘So now, all evidence of Christmas has gone from our home, I find the best way to help my children is to get them involved and show them visually. We took the tree down together and explained: “Christmas has finished”.
‘Today seems calmer…,’ she added. ‘I’m just hoping for the best, patiently waiting for normal routine to come back! (sic).’
Christine previously opened up about how having a blue badge ‘changed their lives’ (Picture: Backgrid)
She also lifted the lid on how the condition has changed their lives as a family, after Take Me Out host Paddy came under fire for using a blue badge parking bay.
During a stint on BBC Breakfast, the mum-of-three said: ‘[Having the blue badge] has changed our lives.
‘Autism really affects [the children’s] anxiety, they’ve also got absolutely no sense of danger, so they wouldn’t think twice about walking out into a busy car park or busy road.
‘It allows me to be able to go out with my children on my own and that’s what I want to do, I want to be like any other mum.
‘I would never use those spaces without the children. I don’t want to use this space, I’m not proud of having a blue badge.
‘I have it because my children need it for their safety, that’s why we have it.’

As they prepare for the ultimate New Year’s Eve performance tonight, BTS landed in New York and served us all kinds of glam airport looks.
Those lads travel in style!
The seven-piece cruised into JFK arrivals on Monday looking absolute perfection in a range of ensembles, making our joggers and sweatshirt plane uniform look a little underdressed, if we do say so ourselves.
With fans eagerly awaiting the group’s arrival, BTS – made up of RM, Jin, Jungkook, Jimin, V, Suga and J-Hope – filed out without much fuss, escorted by an entourage of their own team and police to make sure they got out of the airport safely.

Tonight’s performance is going to be monumental for BTS, who will be spending New Year’s in New York to head up Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
Oooh that’s a mouthful.
They’ll flex their pipes from 10.30pm ET in New York City’s Times Square alongside the likes of Post Malone and Alanis Morissette, at the event is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Lucy Hale.

It’s not clear what songs the group will belt out, but they’re set to perform bangers for a whole eight-minutes, with the Times Square website saying fans can expect a ‘medley of their hit songs on the Countdown Stage’.
Get keen!
We cannot wait to see their performance (Picture: Splash News)
They’ll perform for eight minutes tonight (Picture: Splash News)
For those of us not lucky enough to be watching the boys perform live at the event, you can livestream the event online from ABC’s website.
The group’s label BigHit Entertainment dropped the best Christmas present on Tuesday with a cryptic photo teaser on Twitter.
What will they perform? (Picture: MEGA)
The purple image (a touching nod to their fandom?) shows the upside-down reflection of seven figures standing in water.
Frustratingly we can’t see faces or any more details other than seven pairs of smart shoes.
The word ‘TOUR’ is at the bottom, with the caption simply reading: ‘April 2020. Stay tuned.’
Army are convinced that this means the boys might be going on the road next year. While others have the theory that it could be the follow-up album to their 2019 comeback Map Of The Soul: Persona.
Whatever it is, we can only assume we’ll find out soon!

Dancing On Ice winner Sam Attwater might have avoided serious injury while appearing on the show in 2011, but he suffered a pretty horrific mishap involving his trophy…
The former Eastenders star revealed that he ended up impaling himself on the Dancing On Ice trophy’s sharp edges after landing on it, butt-first, during a fall in his garage.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Sam revealed: ‘I was just talking about it in the green room, I was asked where my trophy is now and unfortunately it’s in a box in the garage, and I fell off a ladder and punctured my butt cheek on it.
‘It’s quite sharp, the trophy! A trophy injury – it literally pierced me.’
Yikes.
When asked whether the wound needed treatment in hospital or stitches, Sam added: ‘No, no, no, just a wound! I was fine, I checked it and I showed my wife, there’s a slight scar but it’s fine.’
The Dancing On Ice trophy has had a bit of a makeover over the years, with Sam receiving one made of glass, with cylindrical pieces with sharp points at the top, while 2019’s version is made of metal.

While this is the first injury caused by the trophy, it’s not unusual for the stars to end up with some bumps and breaks from the show and rehearsals.
The latest season is set to begin on Sunday, but Michael Barrymore has already had to be replaced after breaking a bone in his hand during a fall in rehearsals, which led to him being ruled out of the show on medical grounds.
He has been replaced by former Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya who will be competing instead.
Dancing On Ice begins on ITV on Sunday, 5 January at 6pm.

But James was totally unbothered by their attempts to shame him, and responded: ‘People have been tagging me in this as if I’m supposed to be offended?
‘I already made my money so jokes on you, but more importantly why are you dragging goodwill? Maybe it didn’t fit, or they just weren’t a fan anymore?? Hopefully someone finds it and gets a great deal!’
The hoody, which retails for upwards of $45 (£34) on James’s official store, depending on the design, was available for a bargain price second hand.
James also made sure his followers knew that buying clothes second hand is nothing to be sneered at either.

Others added: ‘this response claps hard’, ‘pop off queen’ and ‘King of charitable donations’.

The BBC picks up the mantel of live streaming the fireworks spectacular over the Thames annually, meaning you can watch the spectacle for free, from the comfort of your own home without having to queue or stand out in the cold. Win win.
What time do the New Year’s Eve fireworks start on TV tonight?
Craig and Roman will take viewers all the way up to just before midnight when, as Big Ben strikes, the fireworks from the Embankment in London begin.
The full display will be broadcast live on BBC One with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks coverage starting just before midnight at 11.55pm.
The coverage lasts for 15 minutes, as after the display the programme will show crowds joining in with the annual tradition of singing a rendition of Auld Lang Syne.
The second part of Craig David Rocks Big Ben Live will then air after the fireworks display, starting at 12.10am on BBC One on January 1 2020.
Watch the London New Year’s Eve Fireworks from 11.55pm tonight, Tuesday December 31, on BBC One.
