CiCi says she cannot get onto her account (Picture: Getty/Hinge)
First Dates waitress CiCi Coleman has said she has been banned from dating app Hinge – but she denies sending any explicit pictures.
The 33-year-old revealed during a chat on Fubar Radio’s Access All Areas podcast last night that she had at first deleted the app because she had been using it too much – but when she tried to go back on it, she was unable to do so.
‘I’ve been kicked off Hinge,’ she told host Stephen Lang. ‘I’ve been banned actually, just not kicked off, I’ve been banned!
‘So I was on Hinge, really using it and then I deleted it because I thought, okay, I’ve used it enough. Went to go back on and it said, “you’ve violated the terms of” something. I don’t know what it means.’
She insists that she did not send any rude pictures while using the app, adding: ‘I’m not sending pictures of myself, I’m not being crude.’
Stephen suggested that people may have reported her profile on the app because they did not think it was really her.
CiCi also uses Bumble, and used to use Instagram as a ‘dating app’ (Picture: Rex/Shutterstock)
With CiCi replying: ‘Well Hinge, if you’re listening, it is me! I’m desperate out here! I’m really trying to get a boyfriend.’
Well here’s hoping your luck will change soon, CiCi.
Although she is banned from Hinge, the Channel 4 star has also admitted to having an account on fellow dating app Bumble – which sees women approaching men first when looking for love.
‘I’m definitely up for it, God yeah,’ she told The Sun back in 2018. ‘I’ve been single way too long now.
‘I use Instagram as my dating app. If there’s a nice message I’ll look at their profile pic stalk their pictures and if they look sane maybe I’ll reply.
‘I get loads of requests for dates. It’s like I can pick whoever I want, but I still haven’t found the one.’

Katheryn Winnick is set to star in one of the two lead roles in upcoming procedural series The Big Sky, ahead of the series finale of Vikings.
Variety has reported that the actress is set to star in the ABC series, which is based on the C.J. Box novel The Highway, alongside previously announced cast members John Carroll Lynch, Dedee Pfeiffer and Ryan Phillippe.
The series is said to be about private detective Cassie Dewell who teams up with ex-police officer Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn) who search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana.
Along the way, the two discover that the sisters are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, as they aim to stop the killer before another women goes missing.
Katheryn’s character is also married to, but separated from fellow private detective Cody Hoyt (Ryan). And when her son’s girlfriend goes missing, Jenny joins Cody and his partner Cassie in searching for her.
Ryan E. Kelley is set to write the show and serve as executive producer, alongside Ross Fineman and C.J. Box. A+E Studios and 20th Century Fox Television will produce.
Katheryn is well known for playing Lagertha in Vikings (Picture: History Channel)
Katheryn has been well known for her role as Lagertha on Vikings, having played the character since the show’s first season in 2013, before she was killed off last month during an episode of the show’s sixth and final season, which is currently airing on History Channel.
Following the series finale, she is also set to star in films such as Sean Penn’s Flag Day, Wander alongside Tommy Lee Jones, and The Minuteman.
And the 42–year-old revealed yesterday that she also is celebrating some ‘big news’ – which could just be her starring role in The Big Sky.
Taking to her Instagram, she shared a bouquet of roses, writing: ‘Big news. Let’s start celebrating! Stay tuned.’
The Big Sky is expected to debut on ABC sometime in 2020.

‘[The] first thing we did after leaving the villa, was had a full English breakfast,’ the 22-year-old said.

They told The Project: ‘I literally just texted mum saying, “I’m really scared about the coronavirus”. I’m scared.’
When the host told them they were safe as they were by the sea, Sam replied: ‘Yeah, but I’ve got to go back to Europe and I’m hearing that it is going nuts. Are you kidding me? I don’t like it.’
Sam also added that they would be on tour very soon, revealing: ‘[I’m touring] This year at some point. Yeah. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that, but it’s obvious…’
Sam is currently in Australia (Picture: @samsmith)
They shared on Twitter earlier this month: ‘My THIRD album TO DIE FOR is yours May 1st!!!! You can preorder tomorrow.
‘I‘m more proud of this album than anything I’ve ever done. I’ve really set myself free the last two years whilst writing this & I hope you can dance and relate to these stories. It’s all for you, always xx’
‘I don’t want to lose my mind, so I’m scared for the next tour. I have an on-the-road therapist. There’s many ways to handle it, but the truth is I don’t handle it, I find it really hard.
Sam’s promised they will tour again this year (Picture: PA)

‘You have to play catch-up, but you have to play catch-up knowing full well that you’re going to go again in a year’s time.
‘So it’s really hard but at the same time, it’s incredibly addictive because I get to meet my fans and sing for all of them.

Taking to her Instagram story, Amber reshared a picture from a fan who praised the ‘cute’ couple.
‘A little insider scoop: @Barnettisblind actually chipped his tooth right here,’ she posted.
Well, we hope one of their guests happened to be a dentist…
Amber revealed the painful moment on her Instagram story (Picture: Instagram)
The lovebirds got married in a tense finale, which came after they found themselves in a love triangle with co-star Jessica Batten.
Despite Barnett deciding that his eventual wife was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, Jessica couldn’t let their attraction lie, and constantly pulled him for chats about their possible romance during filming.
‘Looking back it’s hilarious because a lot of people were saying, “wow you really held your cool when she was throwing herself at your fiancé.” I had no idea, because what she was saying to Barnett, that’s what I was seeing,’ she said.
Jessica forged an intense connection with Barnett (Picture: Netflix)
Lifting the lid on what we may not have seen on camera, she claimed that Jessica kept tight-lipped over their connection.
‘So to see that Jessica was playing it left field, and as shady as she was, I was really offended that she disrespected me in that way, when I thought we had a rapport and were at least some type of friends,’ she continued to Entertainment Weekly.
‘I had no idea. I thought maybe she had a crush on him, which I was trying to be understanding of.
‘I really hope she grows from that, a lot of growing can be done.’
Over to you, Jessica…

Normani (left) opened up about her hurt over Camila Cabello’s (right) comments (Picture: Getty)
Normani has opened up about how she felt when Camila Cabello’s past racist comments resurfaced. Admitting it was ‘devastating’ it took her so long to address them.
The pair were formerly bandmates in Fifth Harmony before Camila left the group in 2016 to go solo, and the rest of them also later disbanded for solo projects.
Camila apologised for the comments, admitting she was ‘uneducated and ignorant’ when they were written, but Normani was hurt it took her so long to speak out about it.
She told Rolling Stone in an email statement: ‘I want to be very clear about what I’m going to say on this uncomfortable subject and figured it would be best to write out my thoughts to avoid being misconstrued, as I have been in the past.
‘I face senseless attacks daily, as does the rest of my community. This represents a day in the life for us. I have been tolerating discrimination far before I could even comprehend what exactly was happening.
Camila and Normani had been in Fifth Harmony together (Picture: Getty)
‘Direct and subliminal hatred has been geared towards me for many years solely because of the colour of my skin.’
She added that the situation with Camila had hurt her, explaining: ‘It would be dishonest if I said that this particular scenario didn’t hurt me.
‘It was devastating that this came from a place that was supposed to be a safe haven and a sisterhood, because I knew that if the tables were turned I would defend each of them in a single heartbeat.
‘It took days for her to acknowledge what I was dealing with online and then years for her to take responsibility for the offensive tweets that recently resurfaced.
Camila apologised for her past racist tweets (Picture: @camila_cabello)
‘Whether or not it was her intention, this made me feel like I was second to the relationship that she had with her fans.
‘I don’t want to say that this situation leaves me hopeless because I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity for personal growth.
‘I really hope that an important lesson was learned in this. I hope there is genuine understanding about why this was absolutely unacceptable.’
Camila had apologised for the posts in December, writing: ‘When I was younger, I used language that I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever. I was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it.
Normani felt ‘hurt’ it took Camila so long to address her comments (Picture: Twitter/Sony Singapore Music)
‘I apologised then and I apologise again now. I would never intentionally hurt anyone and I regret it from the bottom of my heart.
‘As much as I wish I could, I can’t go back in time and change things I said in the past. But once you know better, you do better and that’s all I can do.’
She continued: ‘I’m 22 now, I’m an adult and I’ve grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn’t before. Those mistakes don’t represent the person I am or a person I’ve ever been.
‘I only stand for love and inclusivity, and my heart has never, even then, had any ounce of hate or divisiveness.
‘The truth is I was embarrassingly ignorant and unaware. I use my platform to speak out about injustice and inequality and I’ll continue doing that.
‘I can’t say enough how deeply sorry and ashamed I feel, and I apologise again from the bottom of my heart.’

Fans of The Chase were left pretty shocked when a priest failed to answer a question about the Bible correctly on tonight’s episode of the game show.
Alex, who is 26 and from Waltham Abbey, was doing pretty well during her round, until she was quizzed on the Bible.
‘Dinah was the only daughter of which biblical patriarchs 13 children?’ host Bradley Walsh asked.
To which Alex then answered: ‘Abraham.’
Looking very shocked, Bradley then revealed the correct answer, which was ‘Jacob’.
At the end of her round, a frustrated-looking Alex then said: ‘I knew a Bible question would come up… and I knew I’d get it wrong.’
Those watching the show at home seemed quite surprised with Alex’s answer, with one tweeting: ‘She’s a priest and got a Bible q wrong,’ alongside a series of crying with laughter emojis.
Another confused fan said: ‘As if she got the Bible question wrong, she’s a b****y priest.’
One viewer seemed very confused that Alex had managed to get another question about Las Vegas correct, writing: ‘The priest on #thechase gets a Bible question wrong and gets one about Las Vegas right!’
‘For a priest who likes to travel she doesn’t know a lot about countries or the Bible,’ another fan stressed.
Ultimately, Alex did not make it through her round, and was sent home before the final chase.
Even Bradley seemed a bit surprised by Alex’s answer (Picture: ITV)
Had she made it through to the final round and won, Alex would have chosen to put the cash prize towards a deposit for a house.
As well as Alex, Bradley also made a bit of mistake earlier on during the show, after the first player’s cashbuilder had taken place.
‘Right, we’re through to the final,’ Bradley said, before he then quickly realised his error.
‘No we’re not! What am I talking about?’ he said, as the contestants then began to laugh.
Oh, if only getting to the final was that easy.
The Chase continues next Monday at 5pm on ITV.

The actor, who is best known for playing Villanelle’s handler in the popular BBC series, is set to take on the role of Vesemir in eight episodes of the Netflix series – and his character is said to be the oldest and most experienced witcher in the show, who also happens to be a father figure to Geralt (Henry Cavill).
He is one of the survivors of The Massacre at Kaer Morhen, which nearly exterminated the witchers, and he strives to protect the others who have lived.
Netflix officially confirmed the news on their Facebook page today, saying: ‘Breaking news from the continent: Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve, The Bridge) has been cast as Vesemir in the second season of The Witcher!’
‘Amaaaaazing casting,’ one enthusiastic wrote in the comments.
Another added: ‘Great left field choice, he was awesome in Killing Eve!’
While another very excited fan wrote: ‘Excellent casting! So pleased, cannot wait for the second series!’
The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich also said in a statement: ‘I am so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of The Witcher.
Fans are very happy with the casting (Picture: Sid Gentle Films)
‘I have admired his unique talents in shows like Killing Eve and The Bridge and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.’
Filming for the season officially began earlier this month, with other well-known stars joining the cast – such as Peaky Blinders star Paul Bullion and Game Of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju.
Also returning for season two alongside Henry Cavill and Joey Batey include Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri).
Showrunner Lauren previously explained: ‘The reaction to season one of The Witcher set a high bar for adding new talent for the second season.
‘Sophie Holland and her casting team have once again found the very best people to embody these characters, and in the hands of these accomplished directors, we’re excited to see these new stories come to life.’
Bring it on!
The Witcher season two will hit Netflix in 2021.

Gogglebox viewers were left in hysterics as Mary compared Nicole Scherzinger’s boobs to a bum as the Pussycat Dolls performed on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The Gogglebox families had a lot to say on the performance, but none more so than Glies and Mary, who came up with one of the most random observations of the night.
Mary said: ‘They didn’t obey the diktat that they shouldn’t be dressed in saucy costumes.
‘The reason that’s not a good look, busts boiling out over corsets, Giles, is because it looks too much like a bottom and it confuses the person looking at it.’
Giles added: ‘If I was there, I would be doing a slow hand clap by now, wouldn’t you?’
Fans took to Twitter to comment on the comparison, writing: ‘Oh I love Giles and Mary’ and ‘Mary & Giles are heroes! Protect them at all costs’.
Others added: ‘It looks like a bottom….I thought it was Right Said Fred’ and ‘Nah the pussycat dolls bit has me dying loool’.

And a behind-the-scenes snap from filming showed the Captain Marvel actress, 32, going matching with Daniel Craig on set – teasing that this could be a reality.
The official Bond Instagram account shared a photo of the 51-year-old and his co-star as they watched playback with director Cary Fukunaga.
‘#NoTimeToDie director, @cary_fukunaga watches playback with Daniel Craig and @lashanalynch #JamesBond,’ the caption read.
Daniel and Lashana could both be seen wearing very similar outfits, both opting for head-to-toe navy looks, with similar gloves and multiple weapons dotted around their person.
Chatting to Top Gear magazine, he let slip that stunt driver Mark Higgins had to take his place.

‘You know we fake it, don’t you?’ he said. ‘We’re not allowed to do that any more, although I do go driving.’
‘I was allowed to donut the DB5 in Matera [in Italy], which was great.’
Although he wasn’t allowed to drive the car himself, Daniel still managed to get injured on set – with filming halted so he could recuperate.
And he admitted that breaking his leg left him questioning whether he was physically able to go through another film.
No Time To Die is out in April (Picture: Universal)
‘I finished that movie with a broken leg,’ he told Entertainment Weekly.
‘I had to question myself: Was I physically capable of doing [another one] or did I want to do another one?
‘Because that phone call to your wife saying “I’ve broken my leg” is not pleasant.’
‘Unfortunately, I’ve been in the same situation before and I know the feeling of a rupturing tendon. I was just like, “Oh, f**k”.’
Yeah, that is not ideal…
No Time To Die is in cinemas 2 April.

Gogglebox’s Abbie and Georgia were confused where on the body you’d find genital warts… (Picture: Channel 4)
Gogglebox viewers were treated to some clips of The Sex Clinic in Friday’s episode – but Abbie’s knowledge of the human anatomy left them more shocked than the sights on screen.
Abbie and Georgia watched a man get swabbed as part of an STI test (which pretty much made all the families’ eyes water) after he found a strange bump on his penis.
Of course, it was soon confirmed that the man – who claimed to have slept with over 100 women, including a one night stand with a Victoria’s Secret model (sure…) and a ‘horrible fat man’ had a case of genital warts.
While the other families were still trying to recover from watching the man screaming as a swab was inserted into his urethra, Abbie and Georgia mused over what his diagnosis actually was.
Abbie said: ‘I feel sick! I feel sick’, as the examination was taking place.
Once his diagnosis was revealed, Georgia said: ‘That’s proper scruffy, I’m not even joking.’
Abbie then dropped the clanger: ‘A genital wart?! I thought you could only get the, on your feet!’ as Georgia added: ‘Same!’
It’s safe to say they were confused (Picture: Channel 4)
Viewers took to Twitter to share how funny they found her faux pas, writing: ‘Actually flabbergasted at the fact she thought you could get Genital warts on your feet.’
Others added: ‘“Genital warts? I thought you could only get them on your feet!” WOW’ and ‘”genital” dear, the clue is in the name’.
Viewers couldn’t believe she got it so wrong, writing: ‘”i thought you could only get genital warts on your feet” .. what school did they do sex education at?’ and ‘Did she really just say she thought you could only get GENITAL warts on your FEET?!’
Yes, yes she did. (FYI, for anyone still confused, genital warts are found on your bits, not your feet. We thought it went without saying, but apparently not…)
Gogglebox airs Fridays from 9pm on Channel 4.

In tense scenes from the finale of the Netflix show, they made it to the altar when Damian decided to call time on their relationship, leading to Gigi running away – and falling flat on her face.
However, speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of the eagerly-anticipated reunion show on Thursday, Love Is Blind producer Chris Coelen told us they have ‘attempted to re-engage’.
When asked if any of the non-married couples had secretly reunited, he told us: ‘I will tell you that Gigi and Damian…
‘There’s a reunion coming out next week but Gigi and Damian obviously love each other, obviously they’re a tempestuous couple. They have a very volatile relationship.

Oti and Kelvin won last year’s series of Strictly (Picture: BBC)
Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse is said to be requesting an older partner on the next series of the hit dancing show to distance herself from rumoured scandals surrounding Kelvin Fletcher.
The pro dancer was coupled up with the Emmerdale actor on last year’s series of the BBC One show, with the two later going on to win the glitterball.
Now Oti has reportedly asked BBC bosses to pair her up with an older man for this year’s series of Strictly, as she fears for the ‘brand she has built’.
A source told The Sun: ‘After Kelvin’s messages were revealed, Oti tried to distance herself publicly from him.
‘She’s good friends with Kelvin but this experience has made her panic about the brand she has built.
‘Oti asked that she be paired with someone older in the next series to stop any speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Kelvin, who is married to wife Liz Marsland, has been hit by sexting allegations (Picture: Instagram)
A source had previously told The Sun that while Kelvin has repeatedly denied being unfaithful to Liz, he was contacting another woman and sending sexually explicit messages for over a year – including when he was on Strictly.
‘For a year he has been sending graphic messages and images to a completely different woman,’ they claimed. ‘It’s like he can’t help himself. He said his high sex drive made it hard for him when he was away from home.’
It had been previously reported that Oti, who is married to Marius Lepure, ‘did not want to be linked’ with Kelvin, amid rumours the two had been struck with the ‘Strictly Curse’.
Back in December, Kelvin did not go back to Manchester to celebrate his wedding anniversary with Liz, despite show bosses encouraging the celebrities to stay in London.
‘Oti knew it was Kelvin and his partner Liz’s anniversary and was happy for him to go to Manchester but he didn’t want to,’ a source told Heat magazine.
‘Oti was worried his decision may be seen as a reflection on the state of his marriage and the rumour mill would start up.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Oti and Kelvin for comment.

Anthony is appearing in the latest episode of Ant and Dec’s variety show (Picture: ITV/Instagram)
Anthony Joshua appears to bark at a chef in a hilarious preview for Saturday’s episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The heavyweight boxer makes an appearance as part of a sketch in the upcoming episode, which sees him on the lookout for a new personal chef, interviewing several cooks along the way.
In the preview clip, we see Anthony wearing an ear piece, as Ant and Dec instruct him on what to say – and Anthony then begins to tell some pretty awkward jokes to the chefs.
We first see the 30–year-old interviewing a cook called Yvette, to which he is told to say to her: ‘So your name is Yvette, but you’re not a vet?’
When Yvette awkwardly responds ‘no’, then then says: ‘That’s a shame, because I’m a dog. Woof, woof, woof!’
What a way to lighten the mood.
Ant and Dec seemed to be having a lot of fun telling Anthony what to say (Picture: ITV)
Later on, we see Anthony meet another chef who just so happens to be a big fan of him, wearing a t-shirt with his face on it.
And once again, Ant and Dec guide on him on what to say, with Anthony then telling the fan: ‘You got the Anthony Joshua top on yeah, are you a fan? I can tell you’re a little bit nervous mate.
Anthony also met with a chef who was wearing a t-shirt with his face on it (Picture: Instagram)
‘It’s only the heavyweight champion of the world you’re talking no.’
However, the mega fan happens to see the funny side.
Ahead of his appearance on the show, Anthony also shared a snap of him and Ant and Dec in a boxing ring to his Instagram.
‘I, Anthony Joshua, promise to do what @antanddec say,’ he jokingly wrote.
As well as Anthony Joshua, Rob Brydon is also in the studio as Star Guest Announcer, with singer Anne-Marie set to take to the stage for a knockout End Of The Show Show.
It looks set to be yet another jam-packed episode!
Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will be broadcast Saturday night at 7pm on ITV.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider – does Lara need another reboot? (pic: Square Enix)
A reader offers a six-point plan to rejuvenate the Tomb Raider franchise, with more tombs and dinosaurs and less murder.
I have always been a huge Tomb Raider fan. The original PlayStation 1 game wasn’t the first video game I ever played but it’s the first one I ever remembering loving. The size of the levels, the lack of handholding, the intense atmosphere and freedom of movement, Lara being a really cool female character when they were almost unknown… it’s probably the game that made me a gamer.
But things have not been so great for Lara in recent years. She had a big budget new trilogy and a new live action movie but neither really made the impact I think Square Enix was hoping for. The games are certainly not the cutting edge of 3D action adventures anymore, especially as Uncharted has basically copied everything Tomb Raider used to do and done it better. Or at least they’ve copied the old games on a superficial level.
My problem with the new Tomb Raider games is that they’re basically copying the game that copied them. And while Shadow Of The Tomb Raider did have a bit of a return to proper tomb-raiding, and less combat with humans, it was still, well… a shadow of its former self.
These then are the five things I think need to happen:
1. Proper tombs
This is the most important thing and while they started to get back to it in Shadow Of The Tomb Raider it still felt like a side feature to the more generic third person action. What was so great about the old games was that you were stuck in these huge tombs with no real clue as to what to do, but with this great atmosphere of loneliness and vulnerability. It was very much like Metroid in that sense, even though it wasn’t a Metroidvania. Levels like St Francis Folly from the first game are just great pieces of level design and yet nothing like that really exists in the modern games (or Uncharted).
2. Proper platforming
Tomb Raider came out right at the same time as Super Mario 64. It was one of the first 3D platformers of any kind and definitely the first of that complexity and freedom of movement. The amount of moves and exploration was amazing but nowadays all that is gone. There isn’t really any platforming at all anymore, as it’s almost impossible to miss jumps and everything has heavy auto-assist on it. You don’t need any skill to make the jumps and you don’t need any skill to work out where to go; there’s just one path and you’ve got to follow it. It might as well be a QTE for all the difference it makes.
3. No more open worlds
There was a lot of pandering to modern trends in the new trilogy of games but none of it added anything to the formula. Tomb Raider levels should be big but there’s no need to make them all one big open world area. None of that added anything to the new games and neither did the crafting and experience points and the other pointless busywork. It also meant that Lara did far less globetrotting. She used to be like James Bond, visiting two or three very different locations per adventure, now she’s just stuck in one place for the whole time.
4. More dinosaurs
These next two points are kind of connected, but any new games have to totally revamp the way they think about combat. By halfway through the first game in the reboot trilogy Lara had turned into a bloodthirsty murder junkie, killing everyone without an ounce of remorse or any sign that it was affecting her mentally. The original games had very little combat against people, just a certain amount against animals. Even to today the one thing everyone remembers about the first game is the dinosaur encounters and yet weirdly that was never really brought up again except for one level in Tomb Raider 3.
Fighting dinosaurs and other supernatural enemies is, I think, the way to go for combat. Dinosaurs are great, but also more monsters and zombies and that type of thing. There doesn’t need to be a lot of it, the original game kept it as a surprise that only lasted a short while, but it was all the more memorable for it. Tomb Raider needs to go back to being a bit weird, not just having you fighting generic mercenaries.
5. Decent story
Now to be fair, Tomb Raider has never really had this but it’s obvious that it’s a requirement for modern games and Tomb Raider really needs to work out how it’s going to handle things. The primary problem is that Lara’s character is all over the place. She doesn’t have any clearly defined personality anymore and while the first hour or so of the reboot started off fine, with her reacting to what was going on like a real person, that quickly stopped. Then she just became kind of… generically angry? I’m not pretending she used to be a well-rounded character but at least her sarcastic humour was something to latch on to and give her a bit of a personality. At the moment she’s just Rambo but with a bigger killer count.
6. Better music
‘Nuff said on this one really. The music of Tomb Raider used to be so iconic, and so important to the atmosphere. Now it’s just generic movie music. Like all my other points this basically boils down to making Tomb Raider distinctive and unique again. If you’re going to copy other games there’s no point, just let Lara be Lara!

Should Rockstar make a sci-fi game? (pic: Rockstar Games)
A reader is inspired by the mysterious new artwork on Rockstar’s website and suggests they make a sex-filled sci-fi game.
If there’s one rule of thumb with unexplained video game teases, it’s that you should assume the explanation is the least interesting one possible. I loved the look of the new artwork that appeared on Rockstar’s website this week, and which many tried to convince themselves was a hint at Vice City 2 or GTA 6. But let’s face it, it’s not going to be is it? It’s probably just a bit of random artwork for the website or, at best, something to do with GTA Online.
But I really do wish Rockstar would make a sci-fi game. Something based around that artwork would be fantastic, or really just anything other than the usual grey corridors and Blade Runner style misery. Unless you count stuff back when they were DMA Design, Rockstar haven’t really ever done a science fiction game. I think they think it’s too nerdy for their image, even though GTA Online now is filled with flying motorcycles and other nonsense.
The reason I’d want them to do it though is precisely because they wouldn’t, I assume, go for the usual or obvious. I’m imagining some kind of 70s or 80s style semi-utopia, where things are more or less great but people are still people so there’s a lot of crime and politics to deal with. I’m imagining Star Trek but with a lot more sex and violence, since that’s what real people are interested in and Rockstar are obviously known for.
Considering how much things have changed in the last 10 or 20 years, just imagine how things like sexual identity, marriage, and opinions on public decency are likely to change in 100 years’ time. It’d be probably unrecognisable, with people able to customise their bodies however they want and robots programmed to fulfil any fantasy.
For obvious reasons sci-fi films never even touch on this but I’d love to see Rockstar at least try to tackle some of these topics, I’m sure it’d be right up their alley. Add in a unique art style, maybe influenced by that bit of artwork, and you’d have something that would instantly have people talking.
In terms of gameplay I’d imagine something open world but where the difficulty isn’t killing people it’s getting away with it. Once we’ve got miniature drones flying around they could kill anyone easily without anyone even having to raise a gun, so I imagine the future as being a war between drone deterrents not the drones themselves.
But I don’t know, I’m not a game designer. As long as it has flying cars, sexy robots, and funny Rockstar dialogue I’d be spamming that pre-order button faster than anyone.
The problem is we don’t know whether they’re going to make any new game, let alone a sci-fi one, but I hope that’s the direction they go, instead of just alternating GTA and Red Dead Redemption forever.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare – a modern classic (pic: Activision)
GameCentral readers discuss their favourite online titles, with everything from Call Of Duty to Supreme Commander.
The subject for this week’s Hot Topic was suggested by reader Hammeriron, who asked what it is about the game you like so much and how much have you played it. Has the game been running for a long time and if so when did you start and how regularly do you return to it?
Although most of the choices were from the current generation, we still had a wide variety of suggestions, from current favourites such as Fortnite and PUBG to less obvious choices like Splatoon 2.
Return to Warfare
I’m not really sure what’s going to be the most popular picks here as I imagine there aren’t too many 12-year-olds reading GC and so Fortnite is probably less popular than it might be generally. But I would like to go for what may seem to others to be an uninterestingly mainstream choice: Call Of Duty.
Specially I’m going to pick Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is the first entry I’ve played in several years but I’ve got to say is really, really good. It’s certainly the most I’ve played an online shooter in years, although I’m not sure how much of that is down to the benefit of not having played one for quite a while.
But the multiplayer in the new Modern Warfare is great: tons of modes, great gunplay, lots of customisation options, and you don’t ever feel you’re just being picked on by more experienced players. The co-op is great too and the campaign also, with really amazing graphics. It feels like a very good value for money package and the thought of adding Battle Royale on top should make it even better. Zebra
Supremely entertaining
This may be a bit of an obscure pic but my favourite is easily Supreme Commander. The game isn’t even officially supported anymore but since it’s the best real-time strategy of all-time (I’m sure GC will back me up on this) there’s plenty of fans willing to set up their own servers and keep playing.
Supreme Commander wasn’t a hit and was probably far too complicated and involved for most people (in terms of how long it takes to play, it’s not actually that hard to get into) but I love it and all of it feels like second nature now.
It’s a strategy game but it can be just as exciting as an action game as your plans are put into motion and everything goes to hell. I doubt it’ll ever get a sequel so I’ll probably be playing it forever! Godsmoke
Monster wait
I’m not a big one for online games but I do love Monster Hunter: World. It’s not technically a multiplayer-only game but that’s definitely the best way to play it as it gets very lonely on your own, not to mention a lot more difficult. But hunting around with three friends it’s a great way to spend an evening and the most fun I’ve ever had in co-op.
Playing with strangers though never seems to work out as well. They disappear halfway through a hunt, don’t know what they’re doing or otherwise mess up on purpose or by accident and I ended up getting frustrated.
This is my problem with a lot of multiplayer games to be honest, where it’s so difficult to get the perfect set-up, in terms of connection and people playing that it’s very rare you play the game you want to. And even if you do it’s preceded by hours of organisation and waiting. That’s probably the main reason I don’t play more. Iceman
Squid out of water
Nintendo aren’t exactly known for their online games but the most fun I’ve ever had, especially in recent years, is Splatoon 2. The game is amazingly fun considering it’s a brand new idea by a developer that doesn’t normally do anything like this. I love the whole painting and squid transforming gimmick and the motion controls are excellent and really should be adopted by every PlayStation 4 game.
I also love the way Salmon Run isn’t always available, so that when it is it feels like this special treat. It is too and I think I probably enjoyed it even more than the main modes. The co-op action and enemy waves are just too much fun.
The only problem is, because it’s Nintendo all the online options and communications are very basic. There’s no easy way to talk to people or communicate and there’s no good reason for that. Onibee
Third time unlucky
At the beginning of last year I expected to be saying Borderlands 3 for this question but I have to say I’ve found it quite underwhelming. I used to find the games funny but I don’t know if I’ve suddenly got old or something but I just found the new one painfully unfunny and very juvenile. And even though the action is better than the previous games it just all felt strangely dull. I think because the game didn’t really do anything new and the graphics hadn’t seemed to change at all.
The vault hunters weren’t all that interesting either, I think they really dropped the ball there and I haven’t seen anything from the DLC to suggest there’s better ones coming. I must’ve spent hundreds of hours on Borderlands 2 but I haven’t even bothered to complete the third one yet. Bastion
Guilty admission
I not only hate to admit how many hours I’ve put into Destiny 2, I hate to admit how many times I’ve sworn I’m giving up on it and then ended up going back anyway. I do play it less than I used to now but I still enjoy an evening’s blast, especially if I can get some mates involved.
I do think they should just get on and release Destiny 3 though. The game feels a bit directionless now and they could do with making a proper break from the old. Simba
Perfect entertainment
Outside of local couch greats such as Mario Kart, Sensible Soccer, and NHL Hockey I never used to be into multiplayer games. My first foray online was Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the PC, and although I really enjoyed the experience, I didn’t really follow it up.
That was until Rocket League. No game can ever be described as ‘perfect’ but in terms of execution, consistency (in that everything that goes right, or wrong, is 100% down to you) and out and out fun this title comes close. In my view, the best online multiplayer games should offer the right amount of balance between fun and challenge, be straightforward enough to pick up and play but have a depth to them to make mastering their finer mechanics worthwhile. And although I certainly haven’t conquered the latter, I do appreciate the skill of players that seemingly fly through the air at will as I watch them score another goal against me as I flounder backwards, yet again.
However, last year it was superseded by the new sheriff in town: Wreckfest. In some ways they are similar in that the game is relatively simple, the physics are consistent, and the balance between challenge, fun and frustration about right. One person’s fun is another person’s frustration in this game, quite literally if the fun part is watching first place get wiped out on the last corner by a backmarker as I breeze past for the win. If you listen closely enough, you can almost hear the industrial and colourful language coming from faraway lands as the erstwhile leader scrambles for a fifth-place finish.
Not sure if it’s a coincidence that my two favourite online multiplayer games are both vehicle based. Look forward to hearing the thoughts of other readers for inspiration of other genres, although I lack the skills to make first person shooter or Battle Royale offerings much fun these days, so anything else out there that I wouldn’t immediately think of would pique my interest. There was a fear that RuPaul’s Drag Race was just getting too much.
Two series a year, plus an all-stars was sparking major fatigue, but then came Drag Race UK, which gave the franchise a much needed breath of fresh air. But can the US version still hold up to the comedic genius of its overseas rivals?
Well, judging by the premiere of season 12, hell yes.
This is the funniest and most entertaining premiere in years, as RuPaul reverts the format to that of season five – with the premiere split into two halves, giving us more time to get to know the queens before one is set home.
Episode one introduced us to seven of the season 12 queens, who were tasked with providing spring and summer lewks to sort out the fashion queens from the fashion victims, and a rap challenge with plenty of choreography thrown in for good measure.
Add in a brilliant starring turn from Nicki Minaj on the judging panel – this girl came to critique – and it was a classic
Drag Race episode, with hysterical one-liners and already some ones to watch.
We didn’t say goodbye to anybody this week, but still, we have ranked our first seven – before the next batch come and render this list redundant.
1.Widow Von’Du
Widow Von’Du (Picture: VH1)
Widow owned my heart from the moment she entered the workroom and said: ‘For those who don’t know, I’m the nastiest b*** * from Kansas City, and for those of you that do know me, you’re f***ing welcome.’
And she didn’t let the ball drop at all during the episode, serving us Missy Elliot realness with her various runway looks and already being a standout in the to-camera bits.
And that lip sync! When Widow did a spinning split and then humped the stage in the circle, she basically got herself a ticket to the semi-final, at the very least. From killer moves to boundless energy and even contortionist skills, there is a lip sync assassin in our midst.
2. Gigi Goode
Gigi Goode (Picture: VH1)
As Michelle Visage pointed out, the look queens often show up with plenty of fashion and no personality. So how refreshing is it for this Vogue model in the making to have a bit of quirk?
Gigi’s styling is impeccable, and the fact her actual mother makes her costumes (including that BDSM jockey look) is darling. That green shimmering suit over latex could be seen on Zendaya.
But what gives Gigi the edge is the fact she’s not stuck in her fashion. Lying down on the floor during the Nicki Minaj number was a stroke of genius, and she embraced her poise in the rap challenge.
Plus she gave us one of the lines of the episode, in response to Heidi wishing she was the skinniest queen: ‘Maybe All Stars.’
3. Heidi N Closet
Heidi N Closet (Picture: VH1)
I don’t care how bad Heidi’s wig was on the runway (and oh, it was bad) – anyone with one-liners this funny in episode one is good in my books.
Saying she’s from North Carolina, ‘where the chicken outnumber the people’. That bizarre ‘mating call’. Wearing ‘leprosy print’. ‘If you’re not entertaining, it’s like watching the wall dry.’ Saying she suffered an allergic reaction to kale. Genius.
Oh, and that dancing during the rap challenge? The legs swinging around like Louis Smith on a pommel horse was just not praised enough.
Also, panel, Heidi N Closet is a great name, and now I’m wondering how much Ru and Michelle had to bite their lips when addressing Baga Chipz on Drag Race UK.
4. Crystal Methyd
I like Crystal’s quirky fashion, and her Freddy Krueger look was brilliant.
But the reason Crystal is coming this high on the list is because she has a tattoo on her chest, spelling One Direction in Arabic.
5. Jackie Cox
Jackie is obviously a very polished queen, and will go far in this competition. Her retro looks were gorgeous, and her rap performance was solid.
However, I didn’t think she stood out as much as some of the other queens, and I’d have liked the slapstick I Love Lucy vibes to come out more in her performance.
Give this girl a comedy challenge and she’ll be higher on the list.
6. Nicky Doll
Nicky Doll (Picture: VH1)
The judges were right, Nicky did look a bit insecure in the group numbers, and will need to step her confidence up.
But there’s no denying this girl is drop dead gorgeous. I mean, have you seen her? That fall runway look, with the Karl Lagerfeld shirt and the monocle? Divine.
Nicky’s confessionals are pretty hilarious, so hopefully more of her personality comes through in the coming weeks.
7. Brita
Brita (Picture: VH1)
Now, there’s nothing wrong with Brita – everybody did really well this week. But out of all the queens, Brita left me not really knowing that much about her.
Yes, she’s from New York. Yes, she wants to win. And, er… that’s it.
If she is ‘thee’ queen from NYC, I want the evidence to back it up, and her performance and runway looks weren’t as strong as some of her rivals.
But as nobody has gone home, I will wait for my mind to be changed.
RuPaul’s Drag Race airs Friday nights on VH1 in the US, and is on Netflix on Saturdays in the UK.

Simon Cowell has become a talent show staple over the years (Picture: ITV)
Simon Cowell made a reputation as the ‘Mr Nasty’ of talent shows, thanks to his searingly honest retorts to hopefuls on shows including Britain’s Got Talent, Pop Idol and X Factor.
However, Todrick Hall has seen a huge change in the 60-year-old since he welcomed son Eric with partner Lauren Silverman.
And the Greatest Dancer star – who tussled with the music mogul while competing on American Idol back in 2009 – is loving it.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he told us: ‘Honestly, having a child has made him a completely different person.
‘It’s been really, really cool to see the human version of Simon, to see him be so sweet and to see how much he’s changed.’
Todrick has joined the second series of The Greatest Dancer, alongside veteran judges Oti Mabuse, Cheryl and Matthew Morrison.

Speaking about the BBC series, the 34-year-old also admitted it’s a ‘very strange’ situation working with Simon – who produces the show – once more
‘That is a very strange situation because I always… After I left American Idol, that was the fire that was lit within me to say, “I have to prove Simon wrong one day, he’s going to regret not seeing the star that I am.”
‘Never in a million years would I have imagined that we would be working together and that I would see him, and not have PTSD from my experiences on American Idol, but genuinely be excited to see him and have a chat with him on a normal basis.
‘I forget Simon has legs because, to me, I’ve only seen him behind a desk.

‘It’s definitely a completely different dynamic than it was before.’
Simon and Lauren welcomed little Eric together on Valentine’s Day, back in 2014.
In a very candid chat with Weekend Magazine, he said: ‘Him being bullied is what I dread most.
‘There are two things that worry me about him growing up. One is stress. Children are under so much stress – with homework, pressure. I really don’t want that for him.
‘The second thing is bullying. It terrifies me. If there’s even a whiff of it… I don’t think I could handle it.’
The Greatest Dancer continues on Saturdays, on BBC One.
