The Riverdale star died aged 52 on 4 March surrounded by his family and friends at St Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, after suffering a stroke last week.
In the post, Jack wrote: ‘He was a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, he was always Dad.
‘He loved supported me in everything, and inspired me to be the best that I could possibly be. I’ve learned so much from you, and my heart is broken thinking about everything you won’t be here for.
‘I’ll miss you every day that I walk this earth. I’ll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy and make you proud. I love you Dad.’
Luke Perry’s daughter Sophie also recently posted a tribute, after jetting home from Africa to be with her family.

Rachel Shenton joins the cast of White Gold as Jo Scott (Picture: BBC)
The double glazing salesmen are back as White Gold returns to BBC Two for a second series.
The 80s-era show stars Ed Westwick and The Inbetweeners’ stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas as the window salesman getting up to all manner of outrageous antics in between making sales.
And joining them this time around is actress Rachel Shenton, who plays Jo Scott, the new boss of Cachet Windows – something which doesn’t go down too well with the men in the firm.
Rachel is no stranger to the screen of course, having played Mitzeee Minniver in Hollyoaks – but aside from that she’s also the proud owner of an Oscar.
But what did she win that coveted golden statuette for?
The movie, which she made with her husband (then fiance) Chris Overton, tells the story of a four-year-old deaf girl who finds it hard to communicate until she learns sign language.

It also starred a profoundly deaf child actor, Maisie Sly, in the title role, which was based on Shenton’s own experiences as the child of a parent who became deaf.
Rachel said after winning that she would be keen to turn the short into a feature length film.
‘Hopefully it will open doors, mainly for the message of the film,’ she said. ‘We would love to extend this story maybe for a feature film or a longer film.’
When is White Gold on?
The second series of the show kicks off on BBC Two on Wednesday night at 10pm.

Billy Howle on that gruesome sex scene in MotherFatherSon (Picture: BBC)
MotherFatherSon kicked off tonight and we’re still picking our jaws up off the floor.
If you want to be hit right in the face with a mother-tonne of WTFs, MotherFatherSon did just that tonight, over and over again until we couldn’t have possibly taken any more.
Richard Gere stars as media mogul Max, who comes to London while the UK gears up for another ruthless general election, with both rival parties vying for the support of his influential empire.
However, beneath the crux of the political drama is a borderline traumatising psychological thriller, as Max’s son Caden (Billy Howle) is recklessly falling apart, which came to a head during the closing minutes of tonight’s introduction to the eight-part series.
Caden was every inch the anarchic prodigal son: He’s poised to take over his father’s legacy and is already editor of Max’s leading newspaper, but snorted line after line of cocaine in every lonely moment.
Caden’s resentment towards his father turned him into the archetypal anarchic prodigal son (Picture: BBC)
But in MotherFatherSon’s darkest scene, Caden ordered an unsuspecting girl to his bachelor rooftop apartment, and she had no idea what she was letting herself in for.
Commanding her to imagine she had no idea what her body was, his sexual requests were aggressive at their best, terrifying at their worst.
‘Find your cunt,’ he beckoned. ‘The slit in between your legs.’
If it was uncomfortable to watch, filming couldn’t have felt any safer, surely.
Billy spoke to press including Metro.co.uk at a recent screening of MotherFatherSon and admitted that by this point he was already ‘shell-shocked’.
‘I was so alive and stimulated by everything that happened previously that she and I get to this moment of stimulation, for whatever reason Kane needs that stimulation, this bizarre notion of a social interaction between two people,’ the 29-year-old began.
‘This is a transaction, because it involves money also – that is alien to many people, I would hope. I have nothing against that – for some people that’s their livelihood.
‘I was very fortunate I was working with a wonderful actor, and everything was done very sensitively on set.
‘But reading it and when approaching that I didn’t know what I was facing because you can only prepare so much. You can know what the location is and how we’re going to light it, but actually, in the moment at that time, you don’t know what’s going to happen with two good actors, in my opinion.
‘That can be quite scary and it’s unique, unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.’
Following his gruesome ‘transaction’, Caden suffered a stroke, which will define the course of the next seven episodes.
Writer Tom Rob Smith explained how the story was inspired by his friend who went through a similar ordeal, without the political edge or father issues.
‘You go to hospital and you watch someone lose the ability to speak and move and have to learn it all over again. It’s an intense and emotional experience for them firstly, obviously, but also as a friend, watching this human experience.
‘An adult going through the process you go though as a kid, that was the hardest bit. You have to restart your life – what’s important and who we are, essentially. If you use that, “Why is the world like this?” That’s at the very heart of it and everything else is just the thing you’re looking at through this prison.’
He continued: ‘The capillary busts in someone’s head is this crazy, fluke thing and then the idea that it could change the course of the country was so interesting to me.’
MotherFatherSon continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC Two.

MotherFatherSon is our new obsession and there’s a lot to digest (Picture: BBC)
MotherFatherSon, Richard Gere’s epic TV comeback finally aired tonight and we have a lot of questions.
The eight-part BBC thriller follows Max (played by Gere), an American media mogul who returns to the UK in the midst of a ruthless general election, with two rival parties vying for his approval, and more importantly, his influence.
But beneath the surface, Max’s son Caden (Billy Howle) is falling apart at the seams as editor of his father’s leading newspaper, The National Reporter, snorting lines of cocaine at every lonely moment before he was struck with tragedy: a stroke. What’s more, the anarchic prodigal son has clearly found himself caught up in the disappearance of a young girl, and at this point we’re guessing there’s a body to be found.
Elsewhere Caden’s mother Kathryn (Helen McRory) is a fascinating enigma, volunteering at a homeless centre and falling helplessly in love with an equally mysterious stranger, subsequently, as her son brutally put it, ‘embarrassing the family.’
There’s a lot to unpack from the introduction to MotherFatherSon and we’re itching for the answers.
What’s Caden’s connection to the missing girl, Tanya?
Billy Howle stars as Caden in MotherFatherSon (Picture: BBC)
At the beginning of tonight’s nail-biter, we heard a panicked mother desperately trying to reach her daughter, Tanya. But Tanya’s phone had been tapped, and whoever was listening was swiftly bumped off, strangled by a killer and the police dubbed the incident as ‘robbery gone wrong’.
When Nick, a reporter for The National Reporter, went to Caden with the story, he gave exactly the same statement as the police – word for word. Why?
Can Kathryn’s lover Scott be trusted?
Kathryn’s been spied on and one of Max’s rival publications have threatened to leak photos of her with her homeless new lover, Scott. However, she couldn’t care less – and rightly so: Scott’s effortlessly charming, good looking and he makes pottery – he’s a winner, right?
But did he know who Kathryn was? Someone tipped off the press and if it wasn’t Kathryn or the homeless centre, there’s only one person left in the frame. We know Scott had a very sudden fall from the top and somehow we think Max or Caden had something to do with it. Unless….
Can we really trust Kathryn’s lover, Scott? (Picture: BBC)
Did Kathryn stage her fling as revenge?
Not only could Kathryn not have cared less that her pictures wth Scott were about to be splashed all over the press, she seemed pretty smug about it. When her son offered to write a glossy feature about her new venture in the charity sector for The National Reporter, Kathryn immediate declined.
She’s holding something against Max, so it this her revenge?
What did Maggie do to Caden?
Max said it himself: Maggie was the most popular reporter at the entire paper and Caden let her go.
‘She wasn’t loyal,’ her boss insisted, but there’s more to this. We know it.
Regardless, Caden and Max are about to feel her wrath as she’s teamed up with Nick to take the pair down. Maggie’s dying of cancer, has nothing to lose and looks like she might get plenty of evidence to crash out with a bang.
What happened to divide this mother, father and son?
Across all the drama, the biggest question right now is what caused this family to fall apart? Kathryn, for all her flaws, desperately clung on to Caden over lunch and he could barely look at her in the eye. And as for her marriage with Max, they’ve clearly not even been in the same room for years – until they had to for their child.
Caden’s horror has brought together a mother, father and son who seemed almost like strangers. Watch this space…
Where do we go from here?
While the foundations have been laid for a gripping psycho-thriller, what’s actually in store in MotherFatherSon? Naturally, Caden’s stroke will dictate the course of the next seven episodes, and while we know nothing about what lies ahead, writer Tom Rob Smith told press including Metro.co.uk the ordeal will ‘change the course of the country’.
We may not have any answers just yet, but we’re in it for the long-haul.
MotherFatherSon continues next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC Two.

Less than two hours after arriving at the courthouse, the R&B star, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, was taken into custody from the courtroom, leaving through a different door than the one he entered.
Sophia Ansari, Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, stated he will be transferred to the county jail where he will remain until the money owed has been paid.
His next court hearing is next Wednesday, 13 March.
Within two hours of arriving at the court, he was escorted into custody (Picture: AP)
Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly made the claim against the star, with her manager David France confirming to Chicago Sun-Times that he had failed to make the payment.
R.Kelly and his ex, known as Drea, are parents to three children: daughter Joan, 21, Jay, 19, and Robert Kelly Junior, 17.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Kelly’s reps for further comment and clarification on the situation.
During the chat he declared that he was ‘fighting for his life’ over the claims, which have been made by four victims, three of which were underage at the time of the supposed assaults.
He also spoke out about his ‘girlfriends’, one of whom’s family is claiming he is keeping against their will.

Chance The Rapper is marrying his childhood sweetheart (Picture: AP)
Chance The Rapper is marrying his childhood sweetheart this weekend and we’re still getting over his announcement on Twitter.
The artist decided to break the news of his big day with his 8million followers by telling the story of how he and his wife first met and it’s honestly the sweetest thing ever.
Chance – real name Chance Owbum – kicked things off by sharing a picture of his wife-to-be back in the day when she was little.
He tweeted: ‘Storytime. A thread on how I met my wife,’ and then explained that the picture was taken back in 2003 on the night he first met her – he was nine years old.
Chance said he’d been at his mum’s work party, probably sitting in the corner ‘on his gameboy, eating candy’ when he was told there was going to be an exclusive performance by Destiny’s Child.
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t, it was his wife and two friends channelling their inner Bey, Kelly and Michelle.
Building up the suspense with the intro of Independent Woman, Chance wrote: ‘All three heads begin to raise slowly in unison. The look like angels. “CHARLIE’s ANGELS” BUM… BUMBUM.

‘”QUESTION TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME,” now I’m locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life. And I promise I can feel.
‘I shouldn’t even say locked eyes cause really, I was just staring at her.’
He goes on to say that his dad was nudging him trying to get him to upstage the girls with his moves – apparently he’s the bomb at dancing – but he didn’t want to.
(Picture: Twitter)
(Picture: Twitter)
‘Young me was shy,’ he said. ‘This wasn’t the time or the place. Not just because it wasn’t my party, not because it was their moment to dance, not even because I was nervous about dancing in front of folks.
‘It’s cause I knew I was gonna marry that girl and I ain’t wanna jump the gun (sic).
‘So I shook my head with anxiety, moved to the back of the crowd and never even introduced myself. 16 years later it’s happening. This wknd is the time and the place is my wedding.
To answer a few questions -she was Kelly Rowland -she was there/dancing because her mother was my mom’s boss – I never saw her again until SXSW 2012 in Austin, Texas where we met and eventually when back in Chicago we connected the dots
Michael Jackson is the subject of controversial documentary Leaving Neverland (Picture: Getty/Dave Hogan)
The controversial Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland has left many viewers conflicted over its subject, after the first part aired in the UK.
The four hour film, directed by Dan Reed, has already been broadcast in the US on HBO – which sees James Safechuck and Wade Robson recount their stories claiming they were abused by Michael Jackson as young kids.
The documentary also features interviews with Wade’s mother, Joy, his siblings Shane and Chantal, and his wife Amanda, along with James’s mother Stephanie and his wife Laura.
The first part of the documentary covers how James Safechuck and Wade Robson met Michael Jackson, with the former claiming the popstar taught him how to masturbate while in Paris on tour.
Wade Robson recounted his story about Michael (Picture: Channel 4/HBO)
Speaking about the incident, James said: ‘I have no unpleasant memories of it. You felt like you were bonding. That tour was the start of a sexual, couple relationship.’
Wade alleges his sexual abuse began when he was left alone at Neverland with Michael, claiming the popstar began touching his penis, before he began to perform oral sex on Wade.
After the documentary, viewers were unsurprisingly left uncomfortable by their accounts, with many unsure what to believe.
Both Robson and Safechuck previously defended Michael Jackson after the popstar was accused of child sexual abuse by 13-year-old Jordan Chandler. The case was settled out of court in 1994 for millions of dollars.
Michael Jackson died aged 50 in 2009, with his estate claiming Leaving Neverland and the allegations made by Robson and Safechuck are a ‘character assassination’.
Michael Jackson estate's statement on Leaving Neverland
'Leaving Neverland isn’t a documentary, it is the kind of tabloid character assassination Michael Jackson endured in life, and now in death. The film takes uncorroborated allegations that supposedly happened 20 years ago and treats them as fact. These claims were the basis of lawsuits filed by these two admitted liars which were ultimately dismissed by a judge. The two accusers testified under oath that these events never occurred. They have provided no independent evidence and absolutely no proof in support of their accusations, which means the entire film hinges solely on the word of two perjurers.
'Tellingly, the director admitted at the Sundance Film Festival that he limited his interviews only to these accusers and their families. In doing so, he intentionally avoided interviewing numerous people over the years who spent significant time with Michael Jackson and have unambiguously stated that he treated children with respect and did nothing hurtful to them. By choosing not to include any of these independent voices who might challenge the narrative that he was determined to sell, the director neglected fact checking so he could craft a narrative so blatantly one-sided that viewers never get anything close to a balanced portrait.
'For 20 years, Wade Robson denied in court and in numerous interviews, including after Michael passed, that he was a victim and stated he was grateful for everything Michael had done for him. His family benefitted from Michael’s kindness, generosity and career support up until Michael’s death. Conveniently left out of Leaving Neverland was the fact that when Robson was denied a role in a Michael Jackson themed Cirque du Soleil production, his assault allegations suddenly emerged.
'We are extremely sympathetic to any legitimate victim of child abuse. This film, however, does those victims a disservice. Because despite all the disingenuous denials made that this is not about money, it has always been about money – millions of dollars — dating back to 2013 when both Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who share the same law firm, launched their unsuccessful claims against Michael’s Estate. Now that Michael is no longer here to defend himself, Robson, Safechuck and their lawyers continue their efforts to achieve notoriety and a payday by smearing him with the same allegations a jury found him innocent of when he was alive.'
Leaving Neverland continues on Channel 4 Thursday at 9pm.
Nicholas Hoult stars as J.R.R Tolkien in new biopic Tolkien (Picture: WireImage)
Nicholas Hoult is set to play J.R.R. Tolkien, the brains behind The Hobbit and the Lord Of The Rings, in the author’s new biopic.
Hoult plays a young Tolkien in the movie and fans have been treated to a fresh new trailer ahead of it’s release in May and it’s just as dramatic as the Lord Of The Rings movies.
We’re talking all the strings, battleground scenes and plenty of them, there’s a fellowship (Tolkien and his pals), there’s a dragon breathing fire – it’s like we’re back in the Shire all over again, except this time it’s real life.
Tolkien is finally getting to tell his own story and the movie follows the writer’s life from his childhood, to his time as a soldier in the war and his relationship with his life-long love Edith Bratt, played by Lily Collins.
David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford have put together the script for the movie, while Dome Karukoski is director.
Fans will have to hold on a little longer to see Tolkien, as it won’t be hitting the big screen until two months time.
Hoult was last seen in award-winning comedy The Favourite, starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. He is also set to reprise his role as Beast in X Men spin-off Dark Phoenix later this year.
So far the couple haven’t revealed their baby’s name or gender, but Nicholas has said that fatherhood has ‘changed his perspective on life’.

Arrow will officially end after season eight, which will consist of a reduced number of episodes.
The CW superhero show, starring Stephen Amell, originally began the network’s DC Comics TV universe, which also consists of Supergirl, The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow.
It’s now been announced the previously confirmed eighth season will be the show’s last, which will run for a shorter ten episodes.
In a joint statement (via The Hollywood Reporter), showrunner Beth Schwartz and executive producers Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim said: ‘This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of Arrow in mind.
Season 8 will be the show’s last (Picture: The CW)
‘We’re heartened by the fact that Arrow has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and – more importantly – the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.’
It’s believed Arrow’s end is set to mark the transition period into a second phase of the DC TV universe, with a new Batwoman series in the works starring Ruby Rose.
It leaves the question of whether other shows in the current DC line-up could face the axe too, with The Flash recently renewed for a sixth season.

He continued: ‘Now, normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m gonna fight this. I’m gonna keep working. And with the love and support of my family and friends – and with the help of your prayers also – I plan to beat the low survival-rate statistics for the disease.’

The Bay is ITV’s brand new six-part drama (Picture: ITV)
The Bay is ITV’s brand new upcoming drama which follows family liaison officer Lisa Armstrong as she takes a missing persons case a set of teenage twins vanish.
Set in the coastal town of Morecambe and following a team of detectives as they work on piecing the evidence together, viewers may draw comparisons to award-winning serial Broadchurch – but the cast insist that it’s quite different.
Speaking at an exclusive preview, Taheen Modak and Daniel Ryan, who play DCI Med and DCI Tony, explained why the six-part series is a far cry from crime drama Broadchurch, which is also happens to be set by the beach in Dorset.
‘There’s more to it than a witty twosome, there’s a family of officers so it can’t be that,’ Taheen insisted.
Daniel Ryan insists The Bay differs from Broadchurch (Picture: ITV)
‘Naturally you might draw comparisons because of the seaside town thing. At most and at best that, because we’re following family liaison officers specifically, and we don’t usually see that on TV.
‘You don’t see the people volunteering and talking to the families while the police in uniform are out there doing a different job.’
Daniel added: ‘It’s a whole different thing. It’s not hurried. It’s not all action and running about.
‘We’ve tried to keep it as real as we can, which isn’t always dramatic. The drama is in the family, it’s their loss.’
The Bay is expected to air on ITV later this year.

Ditching the dancefloor, Stacey is now turning her attentions to all things make up and is the host of new series Glow Up, which sees 10 make up artists battling it out to be crowned Britain’s next make up star.
Used to hard-hitting documentaries, it’s a far cry from Stacey’s usual thing, but it seems she won fans over – especially when she seemed to throw a look in the direction of the judges when they shaded Strictly’s make up.
You can take the girl outta Strictly and all that…
I know NOTHING about make-up but I know a lot about design & the creative process, and this shows that in droves, & under some real pressure! (I miss that!)#GlowUp has got me hooked from the first minute!!! @bbcthree#GetInspiredpic.twitter.com/chNe7ouwlT
Sometimes in the world people will have to be brutally honest that's why I loved @TheValGarland and @dom_MUA critics on @GlowUpBBC cause it will light a fire under your ass to become better than before ❤ also can't wait for the rest of the episodes #GlowUp
Having their say, viewers said Glow Up is pretty much their new ‘guilty pleasure’ and they’ll be tuning in each week.
One tweeted: ‘I NEED more and I NEED it now, thankyou please @GlowUpBBC@bbcthree.#GlowUp.’
Another said: ‘I’m shit at makeup and hardly ever wear any but #glowup is definitely my new guilty pleasure.’
Stacey definitely drew in the crowds, with one fan commenting: ‘I love @StaceyDooley and I love seeing her back on the telly #glowup#BritainsNextMakeupStar.’
‘How much of a dream is @StaceyDooley? #GlowUp,’ another said.
@StaceyDooley loving #GlowUp you're an amazing host too. So supporting and a genuinely lovely woman. You inspire me to be the best person I can be
Just saying – Watching #GlowUp and @StaceyDooley comes across as so genuine and caring in everything she does. Have followed her career for a while now and am so pleased to see her continuously developing. 👍
Glow Up wasn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea, though, and the series found itself targeted with a bit of criticism online.
One Twitter user said: ‘@StaceyDooley I have the utmost respect for your doc work, it’s legendary, but sorry #GlowUp is not your brand. You need to steer clear of this imo. Don’t let the #strictly win guide your path.
If you’re not a fan of make up, then it might not be for you. Another viewer said: ‘Good god!!! What a ridiculous, pathetic show!!! This is all that is wrong with this world! #GlowUp.’

‘It’s painfully predictable,’ Stacey complained to Mail Online. ‘There are always people who are desperate to put you in your one camp and never let you leave.
‘The idea that you could be interested in the Yazidi community and also in lipstick blows people’s minds. It’s a really short-sighted Stone Age attitude; it’s boring, actually.
‘We should celebrate make-up. It’s a lucrative industry; a massive employer.’

Great to see Devil May Cry 5 get such a good review. I don’t know if it’ll sell that well, given what it is, but it’s great to see Capcom back and being successful with games that are purposefully old school in terms of most of the gameplay but also state-of-the-art when it comes to tech. A great time for them and I can’t wait to see what they’re going to follow it up with. Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 has got to be a strong possibility now but I’m not sure what their next big mainstream game should be.
Some will say Dragon’s Dogma 2 but I only thought the original game was okay, and it’s not really something I associate with classic Capcom. Some way to update Final Fight might be the way though or maybe in Breath Of Fire, something meaty that can resurrect an old franchise and give it new life. (Oh and Dino Crisis, of course.)
It’s not just about Capcom though but Japanese companies in general, who I’m relieved to see are doing well this generation. I’m particularly keen to see what Platinum are going to do with Bayonetta 3 now that the ante has been raised and they’ve got some real competition. Maybe if Devil May Cry 5 is actually a hit then Bayonetta can actually sell well too, although it worries me that I’ve not heard many people talk about DMC and none of my colleagues at work had even heard of it before. Justin Boyles
Plans ruined
Well, I was feeling pretty smug about only having to shell out for Yoshi’s Crafted World and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice if it was any good at the end of March.
Going from the preview Sekiro is indeed going to be good, and I’m going to have to git gud all over again, but I had allowed for that.
Then Devil May Cry 5 comes out of nowhere and gets an impressive 9/10. It’s gone from being not even on my radar to what looks like a must buy.
So I’m going to be out of pocket with all these good games coming out at the same time. mitchell
Splatoon free
Now that the Switch is officially into its third year I wonder when we’ll start to hear something about Splatoon 3? We may not get another Super Mario or Zelda for a long time, if at all, on Switch but Splatoon 2’s online updates are starting to wind down now and when that happens the game won’t quite be what it was. That’s fair enough, given all the updates were free, but surely that’s a big hint that another one is probably coming in the next year or two?
I’m all for that, and would normally just say that all it needs is more of what’s already there: more modes, more weapons, more maps. But Splatoon 2 is basically a game as a service game so could a new game be Nintendo’s first opportunity to make a free-to-play normal game that has microtransactions, battle passes, and all the Fortnite trimmings?
Although I’m generally against microtransactions I have to say there is a grey area to me if the game is free and the updates are constant and generous (as they are with Fortnite). I’d be curious to see if Nintendo could get this working and how it work out for them. Splatoon is such a great game it really deserves to be played by as many people as possible, so I’m sure it must be a temptation. Onibee
I’m not sure Microsoft are bad at naming consoles, instead I personally suspect they’ve just been lazy and copied someone else’s homework, in this case Vive maker HTC.
Why HTC? Well they’ve previously released the HTC One, One S, and One X smartphones well before Microsoft offered up their new Xbox. But before you feel too sorry for HTC they’re not above such things themselves, as they now call their flagship phones the U range.
Surely the best name for the next Xbox would be the One On? Loki

Unchanged message
I’d just like to say that the firmware update since the somewhat ranty piece I set in on buying a second Switch has fixed the issue of not being able to play while tethered to a mobile hotspot. At least for me. It also resolved the immediate game crash when you resume from standby.
However, although they now have it actually working the way they want, my main points and overall message still stands, don’t buy a second Switch for your family if you have a digital library. Antony White

Like most people I’ve been having nightmares about the hideous Sonic the Hedgehog designs but what amazes is that folks on the Internet have managed to come up with something almost instantly, even though presumably the actual designs were made up after weeks and months of work.
I think the version in this tweet works a lot better and I would’ve been fine with it. Also, it’s just the completely obvious thing to do, so how they didn’t just stumble onto it by accident I don’t know.
I found it on this website which also has a translated quote from Sonic creator Yuji Naka, who doesn’t seem happy about it either and is ‘shocked’ that Sonic has white hands instead of gloves. He also said it could be a fake or an early version, which would be a mercy at this point. If I was the film company I would just release the trailer and hope it somehow all looks better in motion. Most modern gaming platforms, especially gaming PCs, are digital-only, there is no need for discs in the modern gaming world.
Plus, with digital copies you can easily repair a fault with a games, so digitally downloaded gaming is the future and well worth investing in. Shaun C, life-long PC gamer
GC: What other gaming platforms are you referring to? Presumably you mean smartphones, but they aren’t primarily gaming devices.
So Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice sounds like it’s up to the usual From standards. Although I do wonder whether having the bonfires and lose-everything deaths is really necessary at this point. I guess they see it as their signature but isn’t it just limiting the number of people that are going to play it? Dark Souls whole thing was that it was super hard and you have no idea what you’re doing or where you’re going, but that doesn’t sound like this game.
I’m sure it’ll review well but I can’t see Sekiro selling any great numbers which is a shame. I’m a great believer in games being played by the widest range of people possible, so it does bother me a bit when a game starts counting itself out like this.
I would also imagine a more mass market-friendly approach like this would enable From to argue for a higher budget. I hope I don’t sound like an awful sell-out but as much as I admire the no compromise approach I’d hate to see the company doing itself harm over a game that didn’t need to be like that. Mind you, you did say it wasn’t as hard as the other games so there is that. Although maybe that just means you’re really good at Soulsborne games? Roc
GC: We’re not that good.

I think Sonic The Hedgehog is easily going to beat Pokémon for the most authentic video game movie. Ill-conceived from the get-go, ugly and outdated visuals, and absolutely noting like the old games that people actually like. It’s perfect! Danse

This week’s Hot Topic
The subject for this weekend’s Inbox was suggested by reader Edone, who challenges you to name the worst part of your favourite game.
Nothing’s perfect, so what is it you don’t like about the game or games you otherwise love? Is it a trivial detail or something that actually impacts your enjoyment of the game? How would you fix the problem and what effect would that have on how you – and the wider world – think of the game?
How tolerant are you in general about games with obvious flaws and are there some things which you regularly give a pass to? Or are there some flaws which instantly put you off a game, no matter what else it gets right?
The small print New Inbox updates appear twice daily, every weekday morning and afternoon. Readers’ letters are used on merit and may be edited for length.
You can also submit your own 500 to 600-word 4Player viewer features at any time, which if used will be shown in the next available weekend slot.

Gayle King says she wasn’t scared during difficult R Kelly interview (Picture: BACKGRID)
This Morning host Gayle King has said she ‘wasn’t scared’ of R Kelly when he lost his temper during their interview for the CBS show.
King had interviewed Kelly in his first TV appearance since being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on four victims – three of which were underage at the time.
He jumped up and started shouting at Gayle and had to be held back.
But Gayle says she was never scared of Kelly during the one-on-one chat, she was more worried that he was going to leave and refuse to carry on with the interview.
Speaking to O, The Oprah Magazine, Gayle said: ‘I never thought he was going to hit me. After, Oprah [Winfrey] and my kids, Kirby and Will, called me to ask if I was OK because it looked scary.
‘But I was never worried [Kelly] was going to hurt me. I was more worried that he was going to get up and leave.’
King continued: ‘I just knew that I was never in danger. I did worry at some points that he might accidentally hit me, because he was so angry that he was flailing, but I knew that I wasn’t in any real danger.’
Following the difficult interview airing, King was praised on Twitter for holding her own against Kelly.

Kelly said: ‘What kind of father, what of mother will sell their daughter to a man? How come it was OK for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from it?
‘If I were going to take my daughter and she’s 19 to a 49-year-old’s concert, I’m not going to take her to the stage and leave her.’
He denied anything had happened between himself and the girls while they were underage.
Kelly is due to appear in court on the sexual abuse charges on 8 March. If convicted, he could receive a sentence of up to 70 years in jail.

Paris Jackson ‘hasn’t watched’ Leaving Neverland (Picture: Getty Images)
Paris Jackson has hit back at claims she is worried about how Leaving Neverland will impact on her acting career and sources are alleging the 20-year-old ‘hasn’t watched’ the HBO documentary.
Leaving Neverland explores the allegations made by Wade Robson and James Safechuck that accuse Paris’ dad Michael Jackson of sexually abusing them when they are children.
It has already aired in the US and was shown on Channel 4 in the UK on Wednesday night, with viewers saying they found the doc ‘uncomfortable’ to watch, thanks to the graphic details it includes.
i actually haven’t made any statements yet, especially regarding how it affects my work life. you guys are reaching a bit. at least this wasn’t a disgusting and attacking article though.
Sources said: ‘[She] believes the documentary is already scaring directors away because the abuse her father is accused of may put movie-goers off her.’
Paris hit back at the claims via Twitter and said: ‘I actually haven’t made any statements yet, especially regarding how it affects my work life.’
Another tweet read: ‘Y’all take my life more seriously than i do. calm yo tittaaaaysss.’
Her tweets were followed by new sources claiming to People magazine that Paris ‘hasn’t watched’ Leaving Neverland.
Metro.co.uk has contacted a rep for Paris.
Paris has previously spoken about the allegations made against her dad – which Michael’s estate and family have strongly denied.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2017, she said: ‘Picture your parent crying to you about the world hating him for something he didn’t do. For me, he was the only thing that mattered.
‘To see my entire world in pain, I started to hate the world because of what they were doing to him. I’m like, “How can people be so mean?”‘
The actor is seen tearing up in a Facebook Live he shared with fans on Wednesday, as he explained that he chose to leave the DC Comics series to focus on his wife Cassandra and their five-year-old daughter Maverick.
Stephen admitted that he actually first revealed his plans to leave Arrow at the end of season six and he’d approached Greg Berlanti – Arrow’s executive producer – telling him he wanted to move on.
Amell said: ‘Towards the end of season six, I approached Berlanti and said that I thought both personally and professionally, that at the end of my commitment this coming season, it would be the best for me to move on.’
He lasted two more series, but it has now been confirmed Arrow will end after eight seasons – with its final series being shortened to 10 episodes instead.
Stephen explained filming for the show had put strain on his personal life, adding: ‘A large part of this decision is because I’m now a father and a husband and a lot of my life and interests don’t really reside in Vancouver anymore.
‘I would like to thank my family, specifically my wife, Cassandra and daughter Maverick for putting up with really stupid hours.’
He said: ‘I’ve always been a fan of TV shows that not only don’t overstay their welcome but end in a manner that really packs a punch… Something tells me even when I’m done I won’t be gone.
‘If you’ve watched the Arrowverse, you understand. I think it’s been a good run. It’s no Supernatural but it’s been a good run.’

Stephen admitted he had to turn off the comments on his video because he was scared they would make him cry. Our hearts.
In a joint statement (via The Hollywood Reporter), showrunner Beth Schwartz and executive producers Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim confirmed Arrow will be ending.
They said: ‘This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of Arrow in mind.
‘We’re heartened by the fact that Arrow has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come.
‘We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and – more importantly – the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.’

Jason Momoa’s private plan was forced to make an emergency landing (FilmMagic)
Jason Momoa had been travelling to Phoenix onboard his private plane on Wednesday, but it was forced to make an emergency landing after a fire scare.
TMZ reports that Momoa’s plane landed safely in Palm Springs after reporting an engine fire.
Turns out it was luckily a false alarm, there was no fire, everything is OK and Jason is fine. Phew.
The Aquaman star had been flying from Los Angeles to Phoenix for a business meeting, but there were complications when the plane ‘started malfunctioning’ and they were forced to make an emergency landing.
On landing in Palm Springs, Jason and his crew were moved onto a different private jet to continue their journey – after the actor stopped to pose with a firefighter from the Palm Springs Fire Department.
They shared the snap to Instagram, along with the caption: ‘Had an Aircraft emergency today. Reported engine fire with @prideofgypsies on board. ARFF Engineer Andy Meza told his crew, “Not on my watch boys…not on my watch”.
‘Turned out to be a false alarm but the ARFF Lads were on the ready. It’s always nice to meet cool people.’
So far all we know is that David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be working on the script.
Momoa had been keen for another Aquaman movie and previously revealed he had even pitched his idea for a sequel to movie bosses.
‘I have the opening of Aquaman 2 ready,’ he told Comicbook.com. ‘I went in and pitched it to Safran, and I pitched it to [Warner Bros. chairman] Toby Emmerich. They loved it. It’s awesome.

‘It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else. My mom’s cancer is a real problem.’
She continued: ‘I used to be so anxious about daily ups and downs. I give all of my worry, stress, and prayers to real problems now.’

‘After the Manchester Arena bombing and the Vegas concert shooting, I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,’ she said.

Khloe Kardashian wants to involve Tristan in True’s first birthday (Picture: Getty Images)
Khloe Kardashian reportedly wants to involve her ex Tristan Thompson in their daughter True’s birthday, but isn’t sure how to when tensions between him and her family are so strained.
The reality star split with Tristan following news he had cheated on her with Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods at a house party in Los Angeles last month.
It’s not the first time Tristan had been unfaithful to Khloe – she famously found out about him cheating while going into labour last year – and the Kardashian family are allegedly ‘furious’ with the NBA star.
So much so, that sources have told People Khloe is trying to ‘figure out’ a way that both Tristan and her family can be involved with True’s first birthday.

They said: ‘Khloé is figuring out how to get Tristan involved [in True’s birthday]. She can’t see how he can be around her family at a party, though. Everyone is just too upset with him.’
They added: ‘Kim never trusted Tristan after he cheated on Khloe right before True was born.
‘Ever since, it’s been very difficult for Kim to even tolerate Tristan… [Now Kim] says she never even wants to see Tristan. She feels there is no chance she will keep it together and not lose it on him.’
Jordyn had spoken out about her night with Tristan on Red Table Talk, insisting she never slept with the Cleveland Cavaliers player and claiming he kissed her when she was leaving the party.
She told her followers: ‘This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have.
‘Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.
‘What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault.’

Idris Elba is being lined up to play Deadshot in Suicide Squad 2 (Picture: Rex Features)
Idris Elba is reportedly being lined up to replace Will Smith in the Suicide Squad sequel.
It’s full steam ahead when it comes to preparations for Suicide Squad 2 and after news Will Smith wouldn’t be returning, it was presumed his character Deadshot wouldn’t either.
But Variety reports that Deadshot will be back in the new movie and Warner Brothers are keen for Idris to take over the character from Will.
Production for Suicide Squad 2 is set to start in September and movie bosses are hoping they can get Elba onboard.
The latest news from Forbes is that she will be returning, despite claims initially ruling her out of the movie, so we can expect to see plenty more from Quinn in Suicide Squad’s next installment.
We Got This Covered shared an update that read: ‘I have learned from sources close to production that in fact, the information about Harley Quinn being absent from the new Suicide Squad movie is no longer up to date.
‘She is indeed expected to appear in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which is expected to begin production later this year.’
It has been suggested that Suicide Squad 2 will see a brand new cast – asides from Robbie – as Gunn is planning to reboot the entire thing.
James, 52, has apparently been given a free license to completely refresh the movie’s story, but fans will have to wait until 2021 to see what he comes up with.
Currently, Suicide Squad has a release date for two years time, August 2021.
