Keith Flint fans have launched a petition to get The Prodigy’s Firestarter to the number one spot, following his death.

The musician was found dead at his home in Essex on Monday, aged 49.

And, following the tragic news, music lovers are determined to see the performer at the top of the charts.

A poignant campaign, which started on Facebook, reads: ‘Rest in peace to the fire starter. Let’s make sure the fire continues.

‘We need to raise awareness of mental health issues and suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 and that needs to change!!

‘This is the best way to raise Keith’s profile and bring his plight to the forefront of pop culture and mainstream.

‘If you don’t want to spend any money then place the song on repeat in a streaming platform such as Spotify or Deezer then mute it and leave it on. This will also count towards the charts.’

Keith’s body was found at his Essex home on Monday, with police yet to confirm a cause of death for the Prodigy frontman.

The band quickly cancelled all their upcoming live shows, confirming the news on Twitter.

A post, shared for their 250k followers, read: ‘Following the tragic death of Keith Flint all forthcoming Prodigy shows will be cancelled with immediate effect. TheProdigyHQ.’

His last performance with the band was on 5 February at The Trusts Arena in Auckland, New Zealand – with the band set to headline London’s SW4 festival in Clapham Common on 24 and 25 August.

After his passing, famous faces from around the world rushed to pay respect to the late star.

And The Prodigy’s manager, Nick Halkes, shared an emotional message, recalling some of his favourite memories with Keith.

‘Without Keefs contribution to #TheProdigy, life would have been quite different for me and there would have been no shortage of voices over the last 36 hours expressing the sense of loss that accompanies the departure of this extraordinary performer,’ he began.

‘Whether it was an underground rave in the early 90s, one of 2018s phenomenal tour dates or any number of performances across the spaces inbetween Keef and Maxim were always an incendiary combination out front. Liam’s beats could not have been in better hands and it was in the live arena that Keef burned brightest.

‘Onstage Keefs presence was immense. Offstage he could be witty, charming, pensive and mercurial,’ he added.

‘Whilst there was much complexity to the man, an easier and simpler memory is of Keef enjoying life and shining brightly – onstage or off. RIP #keithflint #asktwice #smalltalksaveslives #timetotalk.’

Not only is Vikings star Katheryn Winnick defying the entire concept of time by not looking a day over 25, she’s also a director, something of a martial arts expert, and has been working in film and TV since 1999.

Filming for the sixth and final series of Vikings has wrapped, but Winnick, who has played Lagertha on the series since the show began in 2013, has still been keeping busy.

Ahead of the release of the last season of Vikings, here’s everything you need to know about Winnick, one of the biggest stars at the helm of the series.

Katheryn Winnick’s life and career

Born in 1977 in Ontario, Canada, 41-year-old(!) Winnick is of Ukrainian descent, and only spoke Ukrainian until she was eight years old.

When she was seven, she started training in martial arts, and she got her first black belt by the time she was 13.

By the time she was 21, she had started three Taekwondo schools, and taught Taekwondo and self defense to actors while working towards getting her degree in Kinesiology (the study of human and/or non-human body movement) at York University in Toronto.

Basically, don’t mess with her.

In 1999 Winnick made her television debut in PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal, and has been working consistently in film and TV ever since.

To put it in perspective: if her career was a person, it would be old enough to drink and vote in the UK.

In addition to Vikings, Winnick has appeared in episodes of CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Law & Order, House, and she was a series regular in Bones from 2010 until 2011.

As for films, you might have spotted Winnick in the likes of Two Weeks Notice, Failure to Launch, Killers, Love & Other Drugs, The Dark Tower, and Netflix’s new film Polar.

Now that filming for Vikings has finished, Winnick is heading to another TV show called Wu Assassins, for which she is also a co-executive producer, and where we can pretty safely assume that her martial arts skills will come in handy.

In Wu Assassins, she’ll be starring as Christine Gavin alongside Iko Uwais of The Raid fame in a story that follows Kai Jin, the last Wu Assassin (played by Uwais), as he searches for the powers of an ancient triad in an effort to restore balance to Chinatown.

Winnick has already directed an episode of Wu Assassins, in addition to certain episodes of Vikings, so there’s also a chance that she’ll find a future behind the camera as well.

Vikings season 6 is expected to drop on the History Channel and Amazon Prime later this year.

I’m Your Biggest Fan: The Walking Dead mascot who’s named her daughter after Maggie Greene

The superfan is a brilliant specimen. For eons we’ve worshipped at the altars of sports stars, pop stars, actors, fictional characters, collectibles, art, cars, and just about anything else we can relate to, share with others or simply connect with in some way.

Also known as a ‘fanatic’ (but, let’s face it, ‘fan’ is much more sexy), these superfans have travelled the globe to support their chosen love – and we’ve tracked down some of the most die-hard and dedicated.

Each week we’ll bring you the story of one keen punter who has dedicated their life and time (and money, so.much.money) to supporting someone or something – simply because it brings them immeasurable joy. And that’s what life’s about, right?

Welcome to Metro.co.uk’s super fun weekly series, I’m Your Biggest Fan.

Ashley Weidman, 32, started watching The Walking Dead in season four after finding it on Netflix, and was completely hooked from the beginning.

I'm Your Biggest Fan - THE WALKING DEAD - Ashley
She even guests on The Talking Dead, she knows THAT much about the show (Picture: Ashley Weidman)

From there the Rockton, Illinois, teacher-turn-Etsy shop owner caught up with everything she’d missed til this point, then started watching the official AMC after-show, The Talking Dead.

From there the Rockton, Illinois, native started going to conventions – yes, her love was that deep.

Oh, she’s also named her two-year-old daughter after character Maggie Greene.

Since then she’s basically met every member of the cast, from Negan to Rick and she was officially crowned the ultimate Walking Dead fan in a fan-voted competition.

What is it about the show that had you hooked?

You know, people on the outside just see it as a show about zombies, but it’s so much  more. It’s about survival. How when society falls, what type of person will you become?

Recognise this highway? (Picture: Ashley Weidman)

Will you turn bad/crazy/lonely? Or will you change for the better? Be a survivor. Save people.

You won the Walking Dead ‘ultimate fan’ contest a little while ago. What’s that all about?

How amazing, right?! It all started with me sending in a video explaining how I was such a huge fan. My video went over how I felt like I was on an island, alone and I had no one to talk about the show with.

Hi Rick Grimes! (Picture: Ashley Weidman)

Also, how I named our third child after the brave, strong character Maggie.  My video was then picked to be a part of the voting and from there I talked to producers on my knowledge of the show. The rest is history!

And you’ve met cast members?

I have met most of the cast, past and present. Mostly at the conventions and a select few when I was on the Talking Dead.

What is your favourite cast member-meeting story?

Holy cow, I have so many! If I had to choose I would say the time that I met Josh McDermitt [who plays Eugene]. It was for a photo op and I was close to nine months pregnant with Maggie. I asked if we could take a ‘maternity’ looking photo. He knelt down and kissed my belly while my husband stood awkwardly on the side. Josh is a sweet, hilarious good person.

You volunteer on the Walker Stalker circuit – what is that?

Walker Stalker is a convention based on the show. The actors come and sign autographs and take photos with the fans. I work back in the Green Room to help with anything the actors need.

Just a few themed items… (Picture: Ashley Weidman)

What else do you do in your love of TWD?

I chat with amazing people about the show, do podcasts, Walking Dead Trivia nights. And constantly think about what’s to come on the show…

I have visited the set, too. On the outside, that is. On our way home from a family vacation we took a pit stop in Senoia, GA where they film. It was amazing to see Alexandria and Woodbury in person!

When it comes to merchandise, I have lots of funko pop characters that I love. And some fun t-shirts.

What do your friends and family think of your TWD obsession?

Ha I think at first they thought I was a little crazy, but they are so used to my fandom they just play along with it. My step-dad and I watch the show together. I love getting them into the show that I love so much.

I’m Your Biggest Fan is a weekly series that deep dives into the world of fandoms, via the people who worship the hardest. Check back in next Thursday to check out the latest aficionado.

With seven members in BTS, we already exert a lot of energy when it comes to stanning the IDOL singers.

Then Big Hit introduced new five-piece boyband TXT, and we had to find room for even more K-pop kings.

Now, all 12 singers have teamed up for one glorious picture, and it’s almost too much for us to take.

The two bands collided at Big Hit Entertainment HQ, with BTS congratulating their new label-mates on their debut showcase and their M Countdown debut.

In a sweet picture shared to Twitter, Soobin, Yeonjun, Taehyun, Hueningkai and Beomgyu mingle with RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Suga, Jungkook and J-Hope.

Someone call Marvel – this is the most ambitious crossover in history.

TXT expressed their gratitude to their senior artists, or sunbaes, in the tweet, writing: ‘We sincerely thank our sunbaes who took the time to tell us so many good things and gave us sincere advice, despite being busy. We will work hard so that we can be respectable junior artists! We love you, sunbaes!’

Jungkook – the maknae of BTS – replied: ‘This is Jungkook hyung. Don’t get sick and good luck with your promotions.’

Too cute.

TXT, or Tomorrow x Together, dropped their first single and MV for Crown this week, as well as releasing their debut album The Dream Chapter: STAR – which rocketed to number one on the worldwide iTunes album chart.

And while the boyband are all 19 and under, they have plenty of advice from their sunbaes.

Speaking to Koreaboo about BTS, Beomgyu said: ‘They emphasised a lesson they learned from Bang Shi Hyuk: Always remember the importance of the team.

‘Every time we run into them, they tell us, “Always think of the team first. Become an amazing artist. We’re always looking out for you and cheering you on.”

‘They always give us warm advice whenever we see them. It gave me strength while I was training.’

Legends support legends, after all.

Rita Ora channels Britney Spears as she shows downfall of fame in Only Want You video

Rita Ora sent us all into a spin with new single Only Want You.

And the 28-year-old got seriously deep for the video, in which she took the opportunity to show off the downside of fame.

In fact, she embodied three different versions of herself in the clip – with one bearing a striking resemblance to Britney Spears in her iconic video for Everytime.

Rita channelled her inner Britney Spears for the video (Picture: YouTube)
Rita channelled her inner Britney Spears for the video (Picture: YouTube)

She started off the whole thing by heading out for a solo snack at a diner, chatting to an unknown friend about missing a birthday party, before being hounded from the restaurant by a swarm of paps.

Donning a blue shirt for the scene, she seemed eerily familiar to Britney, who opted for a similar outfit as she ran away from the spotlight.

It became slightly Inception-y as the I Will Never Let You Down singer managed a stealthy getaway thanks to a waitress in the diner, who happened to be played by herself.

Waitress Rita then finds a businesscard famous Rita left behind on her table, and eventually tracks down the third Rita, a glamourous club singer, for an emotional reunion.

It’s all very confusing but we’re into it.

The star clearly had a whale of a time filming the video, as well as exploring her alter egos.

Before releasing the clip, she said: ‘I had so much fun making this video, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

‘This was one of my favourite tracks on the album and having 6LACK jump on the song has been really special.’

The song is a serious banger, too.

Rita’s release comes at a tough time for the singer, after she reportedly split from boyfriend Andrew Garfield.

The pair sparked romance speculation after they were spotted together in November, but the relationship is said to have bitten the dust.

Speaking to The Mirror, a source said: ‘The relationship just fizzled out. It’s sad but they have both accepted the situation and moved on.’

However, another insider claimed the singer is ‘cut up’ about the whole thing, while the Spider-Man actor was craving a more private life.

‘They spent Christmas together and she thought things were going well between them,’ they told The Sun.

‘Her career is going from strength to strength and lives her life in the spotlight but he told her he wanted to lead a more private life.

‘Rita had tried to do that and had kept their romance off social media but things didn’t work out.’

Either way, Rita has the rest of her Phoenix tour to keep her mind off the drama – and two new clones to keep her company.

The Lego Movie 2 Videogame review – everything is awful

The Lego Movie 2 Videogame (PS4) - you're better off just watching the film
The Lego Movie 2 Videogame (PS4) – you’re better off just watching the film

The latest Lego video game finally sees a change in the usual formula, but change is not necessarily always for the better…

File photo dated 09/12/18 of Tommy Robinson who has had his official Facebook Page and Instagram profile removed because he has posted ?in ways that violate our policies around organised hate?. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo. Issue date: Tuesday February 26, 2019. See PA story POLITICS Robinson. Photo credit should read: Gareth Fuller/PA WireTommy Robinson to face contempt of court proceedings

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. For years the Lego games have been almost the only family friendly multiformat games of any quality. They’ve been better or worse depending on which property they’re based on but, generally speaking, if you want a co-op game to play with your kids, or non-gaming friends, then Lego has been almost the only option. But then toys to life and Lego Dimensions happened, and after that brief but expensive fad ended suddenly nobody wanted to pay for standalone Lego games anymore.

Even when they released a good one, like 2017’s Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, it never seemed to sell as well as before. Last year’s Lego DC Super-Villains not only fared the same but was so over-egged with features and unnecessary complications it became a chore to play. Clearly change was needed and the release of The Lego Movie 2 seemed to provide the perfect opportunity. But while this is different from most of the other games it barely feels like even a step in the right direction.

The Lego Movie 2 video game does not work in the same way as the usual Lego games, but it is not an entirely new concept. It’s more of an amalgam of everything that’s come before, with basic gameplay similar to the regular titles but combined with the hub worlds of Lego Dimensions and the customisation of Lego Worlds. Which sounds fine in theory but in practice is one of the most boring and badly-made games we’ve played all year.

We were great fans of the original Lego Movie, with its unusually intelligent mix of comedy and social message, and while the second inevitably loses something in novelty value we still found it a very thoughtful and enjoyable experience. Even though it starts off as a simple rescue mission it’s admittedly not the easiest plot to translate into a video game, although this barely even tires – as it desperately tries to hide the fact there’s almost no movie footage and that the only returning voiceover actor is Elizabeth Banks as Lucy.

The basic gameplay vaguely tries to replicate that of the regular Lego games, but in as boring a way as possible. Each environment, including some from the first movie, has its own open world hub area where you and a friend can explore and punch random parts of the background to reveal studs. You can also scan pre-build objects to gain new blueprints and mine resources to build them in your own customisable hub, that works like a simplified version of the Minecraft-esque Lego Worlds.

There are lots of different characters to play as but rather than having their own unique abilities everything is dependent on items which you collect and unlock in a specific order. You can go back with different tools afterwards but ploughing through the story involves no thought or experimentation at all, while also removing all the fun of collecting and exploring.

That’s an understatement though. The game doesn’t just remove the fun it puts it in a rocket and fires it into the sun. Collecting objects now happens primarily through the medium of what are essentially loot boxes, as you discover relics that can be redeemed as random characters, vehicles, buildings, and items. There’s thankfully no microtransactions but the relics have to be taken back to an in-game shop to be opened and sitting through that process for every single one is tortuously dull – especially once you realise most of them are going to be duplicates anyway.

The Lego Movie 2 Videogame (PS4) - not even spaceships can save this game
The Lego Movie 2 Videogame (PS4) – not even spaceships can save this game

The excuse is presumably that this game, more than any of the others, is aimed at kids but considering how lacking it is in action or excitement that makes no sense. Even the always-terrible vehicles have a hit a new low, with traversal taking forever whether you’re on foot or not.

The game has many problems but the most serious is that it’s just so relentless dull and slow-paced; as if someone took everything that was fun and imaginative about the previous Lego games, purposefully removed it and served up only what was left behind as underheated leftovers.

Part of the problem is that the game is clearly a victim of a tiny budget and very short turnaround, issues which have plagued the franchise since its inception. The Lego games are always full of bugs and glitches, with the hapless developers never given enough time to polish their work to a properly finished state.

Some of the bugs have been recurring from one game to the next for years but here the camera and general performance are the worst they’ve ever been. There’s constant screen-tearing, frame rate problems, texture and object pop-in, and peculiarly unresponsive button inputs.

It’s shameful that the game was released at all, especially given the primary audience are kids and adults who are unlikely to read reviews or know what the game is like in advance (although that didn’t stop Warner Bros. from refusing to send out review copies anyway, just to be sure everyone was kept in the dark). Lego is all about creativity and imagination, but we’ve rarely played a video game that shows less of either.

The Lego Movie 2 Videogame

In Short: A cheap and nasty film tie-in that reaches a new low for Lego games and stands in stark contrast to the creativity of the movie and the toys.

Pros: The co-op ensures you can still have fun with a friend or family member, and customising your own town is mildly diverting.

Cons: Horribly dull and repetitive gameplay that seems specifically designed to subvert the simple fun of the previous games. Mountains of bugs and generally poor performance. Loot boxes.

Vicky McClure has been turned down for every single series of Peaky Blinders and what is wrong with the world?

TELEVISION PROGRAMME: LINE OF DUTYstarring Vicky McClure
Vicky McClure has been turned down for every series of Peaky Blinders (Picture: BBC)

Vicky McClure being turned down for every single Peaky Blinders sounds like an early April Fool’s joke, but unbelievably it’s true.

The Line of Duty star is one of the UK’s most celebrated actors since breaking out in Shane Meadows’ This Is England, and is still arguably yet to put a foot wrong.

While directors are surely queuing up to work with the 35-year-old, Vicky told Red Magazine that she’s lost out on a role for every series of Peaky Blinders so far and was turned down for 2015 Oscar nominee, Suffragette.

‘When Suffragette came up I thought it could be a game-changer for me, but it wasn’t to be,’ the actress sighed.

‘I’ve auditioned for every series of Peaky Blinders and never got it. Although work is regular, it doesn’t always go my way.’

Thankfully, Line of Duty’s Jed Mercurio, who was also behind Bodyguard, has kept Vicky busy with five series of the police drama, which has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2012.

The next chapter is imminent, with the identity of Balaclava Man finally revealed in a first look trailer released last weekend.

‘Oh. My. God. The audience is going to be shocked,’ she warned of the new season. ‘I would love nothing more than to work with Adie [Adrian Dunbar], Martin [Compston] and Jed [Mercurio] for my entirety, but everything has a shelf life, which won’t be determined by me.

“I always wonder, “Is this the season I die?”’

Never let that happen.

Line of Duty series 5 is expected to come to BBC One next month, and you can read Vicky’s full interview in the April issue of Red, on sale now.

What is T-Series, why is it in a rivalry with PewDiePie and what is its current sub-count?

PewDiePie says T-Series are ?getting desperate? as channel?s creator makes YouTube subscriber plea
Caption: PewDiePie says T-Series are ?getting desperate? as channel?s creator makes YouTube subscriber plea
Provider: youtube / AP

The rivalry between PewDiePie (Felix Kjellberg) and T-Series has been ongoing since last year and it has seen the two channels exchange words on social media.

The feud has been focussed around both channels trying to become the most subscribed on YouTube, with the sub count between the two accounts still very close.

PewDiePie has said that the channel is ‘getting desperate’ after the chairman posted a video online to address people in India and persuade them to subscribe to the channel.

In the video T-Series chairman Bhushan Kumar said: ‘To take my father’s dream forward I started this channel. Today it belongs to you. It belongs to the entire nation.

‘This is a historic movement for all of us so let’s come together and subscribe to T-Series YouTube channel and make India proud.’

Several YouTubers have given their support to PewDiePie but the two channels are still only divided by a few thousands subscribers.

What is T-Series?

T-Series isn’t a trendy YouTuber nickname, it’s actually the name of a music label based in India.

The company was founded in 1983 and it is most commonly known for producing Bollywood soundtracks, as well as albums from various artists.

It is the biggest music label in the country and has worked on popular Bollywood releases such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Aashiqui.

Most of the content that is uploaded to the main T-Series channel consists of music videos, lyric videos and movie trailers.

In January 2019 the company agreed a deal with Spotify to stream the thousands of songs available in their catalogue.

What is the current sub-count?

Social Blade reports that T-Series currently has around 88.26 million, which means it is only slightly behind PewDiepIe who has around 88.29 million.

The channel statistics database also shows that T-Series gained over 4m subscribers over the last 30 days and it is ranked number one for having the most view views, with over 2.8 billion across the last month.

What has happened during the PewDiePie vs T-Series rivalry?

The feud between the two YouTube channels started to attract attention last year when T-Series became the most-viewed channel on the website and in then started to close the gap on PewDiePie for most subscribed channel.

He then started asking fans to help him stay ahead of the music label with messages on his YouTube videos and social media.

PewDiePie has gradually been gaining support from various YouTubers including Mr Beast who even promoted the channel during this year’s SuperBowl, as well as Logan Paul, Alfie Deyes and JackSepticEye.

One of the main reasons that he has had so much support from other YouTubers and YouTube fans is the concern of a brand claiming the number one spot, with many fans of the site feeling that an original creator should be the most-subscribed.

There’s has been a continual resistance from many younger users, as YouTube appears to put brands ahead of original creators, which is the reverse of what used to be the main attraction of the platform.

This was reflected by the most recent YouTube Rewind which became the most disliked video on the website after fans criticised its use of mainstream celebrities, and no inclusion of creators such as PewDiePie and Shane Dawson, and just a passing reference to the Logan Paul vs KSI boxing match.

At one point in December 2018 T-Series lost around 200k subscribers after YouTube removed a large number of spam accounts from all channels, but PewDiePie was more fortunate and only lost around 40k.

Since then the gap has closed once more and the two channels remain in a fight to be the most-subscribed-to YouTube channel.

Andrew Garfield ‘moves on from whirlwind Rita Ora romance’ with cosy Aisling Bea theatre date

Andrew Garfield has sparked dating rumours with comedian Aisling Bea after the pair were spotted looking cosy together.

This comes not long after he broke off his four-month romance with singer Rita Ora.

The Amazing Spider-Man star, 35, was seen giggling with Aisling as they attended a performance of hit musical Hamilton together at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre.

It’s hard to tell if they paid any mind to the performances as they were spotted sharing private jokes together, with Andrew placing his arm around the Irish actress, and with their eyes each other rather on the stage.

An onlooker at the event told the Mirror: ‘They stayed close all evening and Michael leaped to her defense when a reveller smashed a glass near her, making sure she was OK.’

Aisling, 34, is said to be enjoying single life after splitting with actor Michael Sheen almost a year after they were first romantically linked, the publication reports.

The sighting comes not long after it was reported that Rita Ora is no longer Andy’s leading lady after they sparked a romance in November, having been seen having a stroll together in London a month later.

It’s claimed their romance has now bitten the dust, however, which doesn’t appear to been too much bother for the pair.

Speaking to The Mirror, a source said: ‘The relationship just fizzled out. It’s sad but they have both accepted the situation and moved on.’

Rita Ora and Andrew Garfield split (Picture: REX)

Contradictory sources, however, on The Sun state Rita is ‘cut up’ about the whole incident, with Andrew seeking a more private life.

‘They spent Christmas together and she thought things were going well between them,’ a close source said.

‘Her career is going from strength to strength and lives her life in the spotlight but he told her he wanted to lead a more private life.

‘Rita had tried to do that and had kept their romance off social media but things didn’t work out.’

Rita’s romance with Andrew emerged a few months after she split from music producer Andrew Watt, and has also previously dated superstar DJ Calvin Harris in 2014.

Garfield, known for playing Spider-Man and starring in The Social Network, also previously dated actress Emma Stone having met on set of The Amazing Spider-Man back in 2011.

They dated on and off until 2015 and never formally split, but it’s believed they remain good friends.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Andrew, Aisling and Rita’s reps for comment.

Love Island’s Samira Mighty, 23, reveals breast cancer scare as she prepares to have lump removed

Samira Mighty has decided to open up for the first time about a breast cancer scare that has got her booked into theatre next week to remove a growing lump from her left boob.

The Love Island star found the growth three years ago and, after being told it was ‘fine’ by doctors, she forgot about it.

She went on Love Island, won over the nation, came home, forged a career in the spotlight…and then this year noticed it was back. And bigger.

Samira knows how quickly life can change, after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer (Picture: Jeff Spicer/Getty Images)

Her mother, Tracy, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, so fearing the worst, the dancer assumed she would learn the same fate after undergoing all the necessary tests.

‘It was really dramatic, I immediately thought I had breast cancer. You Google, Wikipedia, and think you’re going to die,’ she told Metro.co.uk.

‘It did play on my mind, because you’d be drying off after the shower and feel this lump and think, something is not right. Or I’d be ill and in my head I’d connect it to the lump.’

So back to the doctors she went.

‘I found it when I was 19 and I checked back then and they said “you’re young, that kind of thing happens” and I left it,’ she said of the first time she felt it, while laying down.

‘It got bigger – the doctor says it’s three centimetres now, which is quite big, and I don’t have massive boobs, so it’s not like it’s hidden. I’m self-conscious and if someone touches it it’s a bit tender; it’s uncomfortable when I lie on my stomach.’

After receiving the results last week she was relieved to have another confirmation the lump was a benign growth called fibroadenoma. It poses no risk of turning malignant, but nevertheless, Samira wants it out.

But that comes with having surgery – something she’s never had before. And it terrifies her.

‘The thought of going under, being asleep, how does that happen?’ she said, the nerves creeping into her voice. ‘Basically they’re going to do a tiny incision, underneath the crease, and if it’s stuck to my muscle or tissue, that’s when it’s more of an issue because it’s growing.’

Her nervousness soon turned to laughter as she added: ‘I’m thinking “can I give them my phone to record it”, or is that weird?’

She’ll go into surgery next week to remove the lump (Picture: WireImage)

When her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, Samira, then a teen attending dance college, was introduced to the fragility of life. While her mother recovered after radiotherapy, Samira knew there were women her mother knew who weren’t so lucky.

‘You think that will never happen to your family, then it does and you don’t think it’s real,’ she said, explaining her mother’s cancer was found my chance after a routine blood test.

‘I hope people are more aware how quickly things can change. My mum has friends who are diagnosed and then they’re dead. It’s savage.

‘Check your boobs and if you find something, just go to the GP. Look how quickly I went and now, a week later, I’m getting surgery.’

Samira is also supporting her mother’s latest efforts to raise awareness, as Tracy takes part in Black Women Rising, a photographic exhibition of black women who’ve had cancer.

‘I’m not one of those that’s a spokesperson or anything, but I think it’s good to be aware,’ she added.

She credits Alex George, whom she was paired up with in the Love Island villa for a time, for encouraging her to be more open about her health – after admitting talking about checking one’s boobs isn’t a conversation she has with girlfriends over a glass or two of wine.

‘He’s like my personal GP,’ the aspiring singer laughed about her doctor mate. ‘Since meeting Doctor Alex I’ve been enlightened to many things, and since then I’ve discovered how important it is to look after yourself.

‘You just don’t think, “Oh, I’m going to check my boobs,” but it is so important. Just spend five minutes feeling them.

‘And at any age! I was 19 when I first found the lump and I wouldn’t have thought about it otherwise.’

Samira and Breast Cancer Care are supporting Black Women Rising, a project encouraging black women in the UK with cancer to connect and share their experiences. Get involved and find out more here.

How should you check your breasts for lumps or irregularities?

Discussing the importance of being breast aware, Addie Mitchell, Clinical Nurse Specialist at Breast Cancer Care, wants women to know there is no right or wrong way to check your breasts.

'It’s about looking and feeling regularly so any changes can be spotted quickly,' she said. 'The sooner breast cancer is diagnosed, the more effective treatment may be.

'Whatever your age, being aware of all the signs and symptoms of breast cancer is crucial – it’s not just a lump to look out for. Other changes could be a nipple becoming inverted or a change in texture of the skin.

'While most symptoms won't mean breast cancer, if you notice anything unusual for you get it checked out by your GP.

'Anyone with questions can call Breast Cancer Care’s nurses free on 0808 800 6000 or visit breastcancercare.org.uk.'

Riverdale has started up production again after a two-day halt following star Luke Perry’s death.

Luke, who played Fred Andrews on the series, suffered a massive stroke and died on Monday, leaving fans and cast members alike heartbroken.

To deal with their grief, the CW series temporarily shut down production on season three as the came to terms with their loss.

However, according to Deadline, the team returned to work on Thursday.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacassa has revealed every episode for the rest of the season will be dedicated to the memory of Luke, who died at the age of 52.

It is not yet known how the show itself will deal with his character’s absence.

On Wednesday (6 March) Riverdale’s first episode since Luke’s death was aired, and an In Memorium card aired at the end of the episode.

Ahead of its screening, Aguirre-Sacassa said: ‘Our heart, always. Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best–helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.’

Fred Andrews was the father of lead character Archie Andrews, and became beloved for his everyman appeal and advice to all the teen characters in the out-there drama.

KJ Apa, who plays Archie, was known to have a close friendship with Luke, and has yet to make a comment following his death.

Molly Ringwald, who plays Archie’s mother and Fred’s ex-wife, led the tributes and said: ‘My heart is broken. I will miss you so much Luke Perry.  Sending all my love to your family.’

Skeet Ulrich, who plays fellow father FP Jones, called Luke a ‘brother’ in his statement and wrote: ‘Every moment must count. Our sweet and dear friend Luke has passed.

‘Words can’t even… I love you so much brother. God Bless you and I can’t wait to see you again down the road.’

Riverdale airs Wednesdays on the CW in the US, and Thursdays on Netflix in the UK.

The original Diablo returns
The original Diablo returns

Blizzard and GOG.com have announced a new partnership to bring back some of their retro PC games, including Warcraft I and II.

thumbnail for post ID 8851744Jennifer Saunders beams as she films new Netflix thriller The Stranger

For the first time ever, the original Diablo is available for digital download and you can buy it right now for a very reasonable £7.89.

The game was first released back in 1996 and the download includes two versions: a bare bones edition with old school Battle.net matchmaking and 20fps SVGA graphics and a deluxe version that’s optimised for Windows 10.

The deluxe version doesn’t support Battle.net but does still have its own multiplayer options, as well as supporting resolutions of up to 8K and boasting 23 years’ worth of bug fixes.

Diablo - 1996 was a long time ago
Diablo – 1996 was a long time ago

Neither edition includes the Hellfire expansion though, which may or may not be coming along later.

What definitely is on the way though is Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II, the original real-time strategy titles that birthed the Warcraft universe.

It’s unclear whether there’s any special significance in the games finally being re-released now, but it comes shortly after major lay-offs at Blizzard and orders from Activision Blizzard execs that they need to cut costs and put out more games.

Blizzard are also known to be working on a fourth Diablo game (separate from the furore-causing mobile spin-off) so it’s possible they might be looking to use the original for inspiration, rather than the more streamlined modern iterations.

The Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson trashes French village in bizarre high-speed chase

Jeremy Clarkson’s new facial fuzz has got everyone talking in the new trailer for the upcoming episode of The Grand Tour.

In this week’s episode of the car show favourite, Jeremy Clarkson embarks on an elaborate and extremely thorough test of the Citroen C3 Aircross.

Always one to be proven right in any situation, Jez takes it upon himself to prove to everyone that it’s ‘better than an elephant’ – i.e. spacious and versatile.

Apparently for this, a moustache is required. Naturally.

Jeremy’s new look is definitely something to behold (Picture: Amazon/Ellis O’Brien)

Turning it into a French police car, soon he’s tearing across villages everywhere, driving down flights of stairs into roadworkers (fingers crossed they’re OK) and knocking over tables as he drives down quaint French roads like a maniac.

Forgive us if we’re struggling to believe him quite yet – but in the trailer alone he’s seen getting a small pony into the car’s back, so maybe we’re wrong.

We would be right miffed if we lost half a baguette like he did though.

James drives about in Neil Armstrong’s Corvette (Picture: Amazon/Ellis O’Brien)

Still though, driving with the wind in his hair must be light relief after last week, when Jeremy had the unwelcome realisation that sharing an RV for a week with his pals meant sharing the same chemical loo.

Things got even worse when the car stopped working with the engine overheating – causing a near miss accident with more fire than is probably suitable near a motor vehicle.

Meanwhile, James May has his eyes on the skies as he takes a look back at cars owned by the astronaut of the 1969 Apollo moon mission.

This includes Neil Armstrong’s actual Corvette, which is actually pretty sweet.

And Richard hits the Eboladrome to give the Aston Martin V8 Vantage a test drive around the track.

The Grand Tour updates on Amazon Prime Video every Friday.

Jennifer Saunders gets to work in her first dramatic role in The Stranger (Picture: Eamonn and James Clarke)

Jennifer Saunders has got to work on her new Netflix series The Stranger and her first dramatic role looks like a laugh a minute (at least for now).

The comedy legend is taking on the role of Heidi, a close friend of leading lady Johanna (Downton Abbey’s Siobhan Finneran) who crosses The Stranger in question.

Richard Armitage will star alongside them, playing Adam Price, whose own run-in with the mystery woman causes his life to unravel and a conspiracy to shed light on.

Shooting scenes in Manchester City Centre early on Thursday morning, Jennifer was seen rocking some double denim and leopard print boots with an American-style letterman jacket over the top.

Speaking about the role after the announcement, Jennifer said: ‘‘’m delighted to be playing Heidi in this new Harlan Coben drama.

‘There is a great cast and production team with strong credentials lined up and we are all looking forward to starting filming.’

It’s not known what will become of Heidi just yet – but we know the character is on the hunt for adventure after her daughter flies the nest and heads to university.

Question is though, has the mum got herself into more trouble than she initially let herself in for?

Ant-Man and The Wasp star Hannah John-Kamen will be playing the mysterious character, who has an uncanny ability to ruin people’s lives in one easy swoop as she spills secret across the group of friends.

Jennifer leads an all-star British cast for the new series, with faces from TV favourites taking on the new psychological thriller.

Broadchurch’s Shaun Dooley, Game of Thrones’ Paul Kaye, Silent Witness’s Dervla Kiran, Chewing Gum’s Kadiff Kirwan, Buffy’s Anthony Head, and The Crying Game’s Stephen Rea were all announced as cast members at the same time as Jennifer.

The new eight-part show will be based on Harlan Coben’s 2015 novel of the same name.

Netflix had previously recreated another of the author’s works, Safe, which was released last year and starred Michael C Hall.

The Stranger will air on Netflix at a later date.

BTS’s Jungkook calls himself ‘Jungkook hyung’ after TXT’s debut and the ARMY is losing it

We were not ready for this (Picture: Big Hit)

Since the debut of BTS, we have known Jungkook as the golden maknae of the group.

But now, he’s graduated to Jungkook hyung – and we are seriously emotional.

Big Hit’s new boyband TXT debuted this week, and with all five members 19 and under, Jungkook is officially no longer the agency’s youngest idol – that honour now falls to 16-year-old Hueningkai.

But while we knew that Jungkook’s maknae title had been passed down, he has now adopted the ‘hyung’ title himself, and the ARMY can’t handle it.

BTS and TXT together
BRB, getting this framed (Picture: Twitter)

BTS met up with their label-mates TXT at Big Hit Entertainment today, and teamed up for an epic group picture which we’re going to need to frame ASAP.

TXT – consisting of Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai – tweeted the photo and thanked their senior artists (or sunbaes), writing: ‘We sincerely thank our sunbaes who took the time to tell us so many good things and gave us sincere advice, despite being busy. We will work hard so that we can be respectable junior artists! We love you, sunbaes!’

Then came Jungkookie’s reply: ‘This is Jungkook hyung. Don’t get sick and good luck with your promotions.’

The ARMY were prepared for TXT to call the former maknae hyung (or older brother), but nobody was expecting Jungkook to do so – resulting in Jungkook hyung trending worldwide.

Of course, Jungkookie also trended worldwide, as ARMYs held on to the precious old days.

No matter what happens, Jungkook will always be the BTS maknae.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to hobble off on our Zimmerframes.

Sony has finally made PlayStation 4 remote play available to iPhone and iPad users, four years after releasing the app on Sony Xperia phones.

A new system update has been released today (7 March) which allows PlayStation 4 owners to control and stream the system onto their iPhone or iPad via remote play for iOS.

The new app is now available to download for free from the Apple App Store which, after you pair it with your console, allows compatible games to then be played over Wi-Fi on any iOS device.

The original remote play service was announced in 2013, and only let you stream games from your PlayStation 4 console onto the PS Vita. Sony expanded this functionality in 2014 to Sony Xperia phones, before enabling remote play on Windows and Mac in 2016.

Remote Play was initially launched with the PS Vita (Picture: Sony)

Sony has yet to announce a broader version of the app for Android phones, but the delay in supporting iOS might suggest an Android version is still on its way.

There are some technical limitations to iOS remote play though. The app cannot be used over a mobile network and isn’t compatible with a DualShock 4 controller. You’ll also need an iPhone 7 or at least a sixth-generation iPad to use the app.

The latest update also allows PlayStation 4 players to reconfigure the X and O buttons on the controller, if you want to use the Japanese method of having O as the standard confirmation button.

DJ Jazzy Jeff admits Will Smith friendship has changed since Fresh Prince days: ‘It’s different with our families’

$
0
0

Life is a lot different now for Will Smith’s trusty partner-in-crime DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Thirty years ago, hip hop’s iconic duo were cruising through the streets in Summertime and complaining that their Parents Just Don’t Understand.

Well, how the tables have turned because Will and Jeff are now married family men with children who probably give them the same headache they gave their parents back in the day.

A little friendly karma, perhaps?

While he may not be as mischievous as his younger self, Jeff, 54, is still booking gigs and entertaining the masses as a world-class DJ and will bring his next show to London on 12 April.

Still, we can’t help but wonder what Will and Jeff, full name Jeffrey Allen Townes, chat about as married fathers.

‘We catch-up a lot, it’s definitely different with our careers, family and kids,’ Jeff told Metro.co.uk exclusively.

DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince were a force to be reckoned with in the ’90s (Picture: Getty Images)

‘It’s amazing me looking at Jaden and Willow and how much they’ve grown, and him looking at my kids and how much they’ve grown.

‘We have a lot more to talk about but we don’t get to us as much or as fast as we used to. Now it’s really about family, and “Hey, I’m shooting this movie”, and “Oh, I’m going to come down and see you but I’ve got to go on tour”.’

At least the old pals can see the funny side in how the tables have flipped.

Jeff revealed fondly: ‘We definitely laugh about just where we are now. We’re the ones who makes the records about parents not understanding and now we’re the parents.’

When DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince dominated the charts in the ‘90s, social media didn’t exist let alone the Cardi Bs of the world.

So how does Jeff think he and the Fresh Prince would have fared in the social media era?

‘I think we would have really flourished because the social media era fits right up our alley, especially looking at Will on social media now.’

Oh, in case you’ve missed it, Will is absolutely killing it on the ‘gram and YouTube right now.

Jeff added: ‘It would’ve fit perfect but also, it would have put a microscope on so much of the stuff that we were trying to figure out as we were coming along.

‘Will and I always talk about it. We say, “Omg, could you imagine if we had the tools today when we were making records?” We’d probably have made 10,000 more records just to have the ability to release it whenever you want. That would have been awesome.’

On 22 February, it was 30 years to the day that Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince famously boycotted the 1989 Grammys.

The pair had won best rap performance for their hit single Parents Just Don’t Understand but the Grammys decided not to televise the category. Along with several other artists, Will and Jeff were incensed by the snub so decided to boycott the awards that year.

It was pretty rebellious for the time but actually, no different to the likes of Ariana Grande and Kanye West boycotting the Grammys today.

Reflecting on the move, Jeff explained: ‘It’s weird because there was a point in time when I thought everything came full circle and hip hop is so undeniable now of its impact on the world that it’s everywhere.

‘I felt like, this is really cool, it’s getting the recognition it deserves. Then I started to feel like things started to go back to the way they were when we boycotted.’

Referencing the amount of artists who were a no-show at the Grammys 2019 just a few weeks ago, Jeff said: ‘It was amazing to see how many artists said they weren’t coming and performing.

‘I think it’s important that artists have their own voice now which I think is really cool. For me, it’s this balance of power when it came down to the industry that the artists were the ones with the least amount of power. I think you’re starting to see a shift.’

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince at the Grammys in 1990, a year after they boycotted the awards (Picture: Getty Images)

He added: ‘The trend is starting to be more about the music industry and just how things have not been fair. I’ve always said that you can make a record without a record company, a record company can’t make a record without the artist.

‘As soon as the artists started realising they have an element of control, things are changing now.’

While some artists chose not to turn up, it was a momentous night for Cardi B, who became the first female rapper to claim best rap album with her debut Invasion Of Privacy.

Jeff is a fan of the outspoken rapper and praised: ‘It’s amazing to watch what she’s done and we’ve had a front-row seat to watch what she’s done on her whole journey through social media.

‘To watch her start and be as transparent as she was and become this superstar artist, I think it’s awesome.

‘She’s definitely talented but it’s a little weird because our attention spans are so short now and she could do one thing that would turn everybody against us.

‘You probably have to walk such a fine line now to make sure stay in the good graces of the public.’

Yep, things are much different now to Jazzy’s ‘90s heyday.

Jazzy Jeff is still the life and soul of the party (Picture: WireImage)

Back then, Jeff was a recurring cast member in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air which, of course, starred Will in the lead role.

Fans have longed for a reunion of NBC’s hit sitcom and while Jeff is more than ready, it probably won’t be in the works for a while – if ever.

Jeff explained: ‘We [Will and I] have never talked about that. We would talk about a Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince reunion before we bring up the Fresh Prince. He’s never said anything to me like, “Oh, this would be cool”.’

‘It’s a little bit different for me as well because of my character so I’m just like, if anybody else wants to do it I’ll be there.’

He stated: ‘I’ve never heard [Will] speak about a potential Fresh Prince reunion. I definitely think with James Avery not being here, that’s probably the icing on the cake.’

Avery, who played the beloved Uncle Phil in the comedy, died in 2013.

Jeff will bring his House Party to London in April (Picture: WireImage)

His stern yet loving relationship with Will in the series became iconic and Jeff feels it’s missing in TV today.

The DJ said: ‘Absolutely. I think without even realising how important he was not just on the show but to other people, he was a role model that people had.

‘I had friends that grew up in single homes and he’s more of a father in that life than their actual fathers. You don’t realise how that resonates with people and television isn’t really like that.

‘We don’t have those kind of programmes now with so much reality TV and Real Housewives that we don’t really have those kind of role models.

‘Sometimes I want the superhero that flies through the air and saves the day, not reality. We wake up everyday with reality, I don’t want that on my television set.’

Until our dreams of a Fresh Prince reunion – on all fronts – come true, Jeff will be keeping himself busy on-stage and will bring his House Party to London next month.

Teasing the show, Jeff said: ‘I just want everybody to have a good time, I play a whole lot of music. I tell everybody to wear comfortable shoes. It’s as simple as that.

‘If I can give somebody a break for a few hours from whatever they’re going through, just put your hands up and enjoy the music, then I’ve done my job. I’m very excited.’

DJ Jazzy Jeff will play London’s Electric Brixton with a DJ set from Nao on 12 April. Visit Ticketweb for more info.

Ashley Graham stole the limelight at Virgin Australia’s Melbourne Fashion Festival on Thursday night.

Is there anything that she cannot do?

Modelling is one thing, but owning the stage while doing it is another and that is exactly what the 31-year-old American model did while Down Under.

Ashley turned up the heat just before hitting on the runway as she flashed her underwear on the red carpet in a transparent black lace dress for the star-studded evening.

Following the red carpet appearance, the star stormed her catwalk in a gorgeous teal flowing dress that would be perfect for one of those travel Instagram pages.
The star also wrote a black maxi number with beaded details and a fringe skirt at the glamour event.

We aren’t surprised by Ashley stealing the show as the woman has always been one to make sure her presence is known thanks to her kick-ass opinions about the ‘plus size’ label on clothing.

Making an appearance on The Project, Ashley said: ‘To have an industry say, ”Oh, this is the plus size model,” – why do we have to describe a woman because of a number inside of her pants?’

‘Why can’t we just say her name, or her occupation and that be it? Men don’t do that. They don’t say my ”plus size friend whoever”,’ she added.

Ashley added that she is looking forward to the day where she wouldn’t need to talk about her size in an interview.

‘I’m looking forward to that day. Because I am the first of so many things, I’m going to have to talk about this for the rest of my career and that’s okay because I didn’t have a role model growing up that looked like me,’ she said.

Ashley pointed out that the topic needs to become more than just words and debates because some action is desperately needed in the industry.

‘The call to action is to just do it and not talk about it.’

Costumes are a television show essential. Without them, a show is rendered completely unbelievable, but with them they catapult our imaginations to a particular time and place, leaving behind a legacy in the process.

Whether it’s Villanelle’s pink dress in Killing Eve or Ugly Betty’s poncho, there’s usually always more than meets the eye and a whole world of tiny details that escape unnoticed.

Each week Back Into The Closet will deliver an exclusive look into the wardrobes of some of the world’s leading series to bring you all the costume secrets and niceties we might have missed.

For the first edition, we caught up with The Walking Dead costume designer Eulyn Colette Hufkie, who masterminded the costumes of all our favourite characters from seasons one to six.

Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln)

Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes was at the helm of he Walking Dead for the best part of nine seasons, and would often be seen roaming the land in similar styled shirts. ‘I would put him in that same tan-coloured shirt but different versions of it,’ Eulyn explained. ‘It’s all tan, just to remind the audience who he was, even though in every season he’s been evolving in different ways.’

There were even subtle nods that Rick and his deceased brother Shane (Jon Bernthal) were siblings, which you would have overlooked if you hadn’t been paying close attention. ‘I made Shane and Rick dress as the same person,’ Eulyn tells us. ‘They both were police, so I’d use black bottoms on Rick and a black shirt on Shane or vise versa. They’d be mirror images of one another because I think they are.’

Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) and Rick’s outfits would interchange (Picture: AMC)

Costumes can have a lasting effect on the actor too, and Andrew has a particular fondness for Rick’s boots, and he wore the same pair for at least six seasons. ‘He had the same pair of boots from the first day until my last day. I had to fix those boots so many times because they were falling apart and disintegrating and they didn’t make them anymore. But beyond that, he wouldn’t change them, he refused to. Until my last day that was all he would wear so I imagine he’s kept them.

‘I don’t know if the new costume designer was able to get him out of them or not. He believed in them and they were Rick’s boots and that’s just what it was.’ It wasn’t just the brown boots that had a hold on Andrew though. ‘He had the same belt and the same jeans,’ Eulyn revealed to us. ‘I had 20 pairs of those jeans and I’d recycle them. The exact same boots and the exact same belt. He would not change.’

Michonne (Danai Guiria)

Michonne’s look was inspired by superheroes (Picture: AMC)

It’s really no secret that Michonne (Danai Gurira) is one televisions biggest badass to grace the small-screen, and she dresses ‘like a warrior on purpose.’ ‘With her I took more liberties,’ Eulyn admitted. ‘I made her look more hardcore and more comic book like. Superheroes are the inspiration for my show and I even gave her a symbol around her neck, she wears an M necklace which is very modern, but it’s also superhero. Superman has an S, Batman has a B, Michonne has an M. She looks like a warrior with the bandanna that she wears and I like everything to be tight, especially on Danai’s body.’

Look carefully and you can see Michonne’s M necklace (Picture: AMC)

Michonne’s often accessorised with headbands, and although it’s nice to think they have a deeper meaning, they initially served only on the basis of practicality. ‘Honestly, they were for keeping the wig on,’ Eulyn told us. ‘They are brilliant. The wigs were perfect. Even up close, we actually went without the headbands when she and Rick were getting together. The headbands definitely helped the wigs stay on in the beginning. Danai is from Zimbabwe and the prints that I picked for her were very African prints.’

Michonne originally wore headbands to keep her wig in place (Picture: AMC)

Like Rick, Michonne has a footwear secret too: the boots that she wore in season six are actually trainers. Yep, our minds were blown too. ‘Michonne wore high-top sneakers and I created those flaps over them to make them look like her original boots. They looked like sneaker boots and they had flaps over them to make it seem as though they were leather. The costumes had to be practical too, they worked so hard. Clothing has to make sense, and move and breathe.’

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus)

Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) waistcoats have become an iconic staple within his wardrobe and his custom-made angel-winged piece has been replicated by costume companies. ‘I did his waistcoat with the wings in season two because I felt like he was the dark angel of the group,’ Eulyn revealed. ‘When I was making this proposal to Frank [Darabont], I didn’t have a waistcoat. I didn’t actually make one, I just came up with the idea and my meeting was in an hour, so I grabbed his brother’s one from season one and Merle (Michael Rooker) is at least double the size of Norman, so I cut out some wings from an old military jacket, I turned it inside out and I stuck it on with pins.

‘I took pictures and sent it to Frank and he said “fucking genius.” So that’s how Daryl’s waistcoat came about and that’s what he wore for all the years, until I needed to create a few more for the stunts and stunt doubles. When I left, I had made eight waistcoats for him and that was season six.’

The Walkers

The Walking Dead zombies were yellow like the earth in Georgia, US (Picture: AMC)

For the first few seasons, the walkers were dressed in reference to the comic books, with Eulyn introducing this to remind viewers why they were watching the show in the first place. ‘For season two I did a lot of yellows, like the colours of Georgia too,’ she told us. ‘When I started it was so cold, everything was really yellow and the earth here in Georgia is orange, like an iron ore/clay colour. I drew a lot of inspiration from them. In season three, I think the comic book colour was purple, so we did a lot of that.

The season 2 zombies started off very yellow (Picture: AMC)

‘I muddled them together when we moved forward. I made the walkers inside the prison very grey and blue and purpley and the walkers outside the prison very yellow and clay coloured, just to show the difference. I matched the walkers to the walls so you couldn’t see them until you saw their make-up.’

A lot of purples were used in the third season of The Walking Dead (Picture: AMC)

After each season, Eulyn would keep the walkers’ costumes in a huge storage unit. When they were needed again, she’d shrink them, put them back in the wash and dye them another colour. ‘They’d get perfect holes in them and start looking like gauze,’ Eulyn said. ‘There were days that I would get my whole crew (eight) we’d all get together and we’d throw these pieces on the floor and just go to town with them. We’d paint them, wash them…we’d do hundreds of garments. I got a lot of flack for the walkers being so fully covered, like “didn’t anyone die at the beach?” The make-up department, they only have so much time to prepare, they would do faces and hands and some necks, so I had to cover everything else. That’s why people were wearing so many layers.’

Details we may have missed

Negan’s zipper is always on the left hand side (Picture: AMC)

According to Eulyn, executive producer Scott Gimple was keen on keeping The Walking Dead ‘just like the comic book,’ so for that reason Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) zipper and shirt buttons are on the female side. She went the extra mile to ensure the clothing had a narrative of their own, making Maggie’s T-shirts ‘as though she would have done them herself.’

Eulyn added: ‘With Beth and Hershel imagined he would don all of his clothing so I would cut the clothing and sew it back together with embroidery thread as if she’d done it for him. I thought that was a way of showing love, she took great care of her dad. All of her clothing was donned and patched together.’

Back Into The Closet is a weekly series that delves into most iconic costumes to ever grace television, from shows past and present. Check back each Thursday for the latest wardrobe secrets.

Michael Jackson is back in the headlines once again as the controversial documentary Leaving Neverland: Michael Jackson and Me airs worldwide.

The singer died in 2009 aged 50, leaving behind three children – sons Prince and Blanket, and daughter Paris Jackson.

While the eldest two are the children of Jackson’s former wife, nurse Debbie Rowe – whom he married in 1996 – the identity of Blanket’s mother remains unknown.

Here’s what you need to know about Jackson’s children, including where they are now.

The singer’s elder son has the full name of Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, but he is known as Prince.

The 22-year-old was born on 13 February 1997 while Jackson was married to Debbie Rowe.

Prince is the founder of the Heal Los Angeles charity, whose aim is to further the cause of his father’s Heal The World charity.

He also paid tribute to his dad, who passed away when he was 12, by having a tattoo of him inked on his leg in 2018.

The singer’s only daughter, 20-year-old Paris was born on 3 April 1998.

She is an actress, model and singer who has spoken openly in the past about suffering from depression as a teenager, revealing all in a candid 2017 Rolling Stone interview.

Paris’ acting career has seen her appear in the TV series Star as well as the 2018 movie Gringo alongside Charlize Theron and David Oyelowo.

She was reported in 2017 to be romantically involved with Cara Delevingne, although has not publicly discussed her sexuality, having also dated Michael Snoddy and former Towie star Tom Kilbey.

Jackson’s youngest son, 17, was born on 21 February 2002, with the identity of his mother never being revealed, as Jackson explaining he was unable to say due to a ‘contractual agreement’.

The teenager gained notoriety at the age of just nine months when Jackson dangled him over the balcony of his fourth-floor hotel room in Berlin – causing a media storm in the process.

The singer later admitted it was a ‘terrible mistake’.

Little is known about Blanket beyond that, since he lives his life largely out of the public eye.
