LaToya Jackson accuses brother Michael of ‘crimes against innocent children’ in unearthed interview

An unearthed video from 1993 hears LaToya Jackson accuse her brother Michael of ‘crimes against small, innocent children’.

In the wake of Leaving Neverland – in which Wade Robson and James Safechuck allege they were sexually abused by Michael Jackson as children – airing on HBO in the States and Channel 4 in the UK, a press conference which was broadcast on MTV in 1993 has come to light.

In the video, La Toya – who was at that time estranged from her family – alleged that Michael was a predator, following allegations of molestation made by the father of 13-year-old Jordan Chandler earlier that year.

Jackson denied the allegations, and the case was eventually settled out of court for over $20 million.

In her press conference, LaToya said: ‘I love him a great deal, but I cannot and will not be a silent collaborator of his crimes against small, innocent children.

‘If I remain silent, then that means that I feel the guilt and the humiliation that these children are feeling, and I think it’s very wrong.’

LaToya, herself a survivor of sexual assault, alleged that her mother Katherine had shown her ‘very, very large amounts’ that had been made out to the parents of ‘these children’, saying: ‘These kids are going to be scarred by this for the rest of their lives. I don’t want to see any more innocent small children being affected this way. I love Michael very dearly but I feel sorry for these children because they don’t have a life anymore. They don’t.’

She also said: ‘You stop and think for one second and you tell me, what 35-year-old man is going to take a little boy and stay with him for 30 days? And take another boy and stay with him for five days in a room and never leave the room?

Michael Jackson and Wade Robson.
Wade Robson (pictured) and James Safechuck have alleged they were sexually abused by Michael (Picture: Channel 4)

‘How many of you out there are 35 years old? How many men are out there? How many would take little kids and do that? That are 9, 10, 11 years old? I love my brother but it’s wrong. I don’t want to see these kids hurt.”

Years later, LaToya recanted her statements, alleging that she was convinced to make them by her then-husband Jack Gordon.

In Leaving Neverland, Robson, now 36, alleges that he was sexually abused by the Billie Jean hitmaker from when he was seven until he was 14. Safechuck, now 41, alleges he was abused from when he was 10 to 14, with both men putting forward their allegations in graphic detail in the documentary.

Michael passed away in 2009 at the age of 50. The estate of Jackson has strenuously denied allegations of child sexual abuse, calling them ‘character assassination’.

His daughter Paris Jackson has insisted her dad’s legacy will not be ruined by the allegations, while his nephew Taj Jackson claimed that Robson was ‘100% lying’ in the film, adding that Jackson was a ‘child at heart’.

Michael Jackson estate's statement on Leaving Neverland

'Leaving Neverland isn’t a documentary, it is the kind of tabloid character assassination Michael Jackson endured in life, and now in death. The film takes uncorroborated allegations that supposedly happened 20 years ago and treats them as fact. These claims were the basis of lawsuits filed by these two admitted liars which were ultimately dismissed by a judge. The two accusers testified under oath that these events never occurred. They have provided no independent evidence and absolutely no proof in support of their accusations, which means the entire film hinges solely on the word of two perjurers.

'Tellingly, the director admitted at the Sundance Film Festival that he limited his interviews only to these accusers and their families. In doing so, he intentionally avoided interviewing numerous people over the years who spent significant time with Michael Jackson and have unambiguously stated that he treated children with respect and did nothing hurtful to them. By choosing not to include any of these independent voices who might challenge the narrative that he was determined to sell, the director neglected fact checking so he could craft a narrative so blatantly one-sided that viewers never get anything close to a balanced portrait.

'For 20 years, Wade Robson denied in court and in numerous interviews, including after Michael passed, that he was a victim and stated he was grateful for everything Michael had done for him. His family benefitted from Michael’s kindness, generosity and career support up until Michael’s death. Conveniently left out of Leaving Neverland was the fact that when Robson was denied a role in a Michael Jackson themed Cirque du Soleil production, his assault allegations suddenly emerged.

'We are extremely sympathetic to any legitimate victim of child abuse. This film, however, does those victims a disservice.  Because despite all the disingenuous denials made that this is not about money, it has always been about money – millions of dollars — dating back to 2013 when both Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who share the same law firm, launched their unsuccessful claims against Michael’s Estate. Now that Michael is no longer here to defend himself, Robson, Safechuck and their lawyers continue their efforts to achieve notoriety and a payday by smearing him with the same allegations a jury found him innocent of when he was alive.'

Quavo has left his fans fuming after revealing he bought a tiger as a pet.

Yes, seriously.

Taking to Instagram, the Migos star unveiled his new ‘purchase’ for his 11.9million followers, as well as the handler that came along with the animal.

Maybe the pet shop was all out of goldfish?

In a clip which has been watched more than 970,000 times, the 27-year-old flaunted his diamond encrusted grill, before revealing: ‘I just bought a tiger today.

‘I got a handler right there, she’s my handler.’

Panning the camera over to the animal in question, lying on the ground and attached to a chain lead, he added: ‘Yesssssssssir.’

Alongside the clip, he wrote: ‘J U S B O U G H T A T I G E R. His Name Is C H O.’

However, fans were left seriously unimpressed by the rapper’s new addition, and flooded the comments section to make their feelings known.

A follower posted: ‘This is a joke right? Someone can’t be this silly?!’

‘Let the fucking tigers run free it’s bad enough that they are going extinct and these fuckers out here with them on chains, just to fucking stunt, make me sick @quavohuncho,’ another wrote.

‘When he tries to kill you and ends up dead himself it’s because tigers are not pets,’ an annoyed Instagram user said. ‘They belong in the wild. Don’t be so ignorant.’

While Whitney Cummings fumed: ‘This is not cool. It’s reckless to promote and glamorise this. You don’t need a tiger as a pet. Privately owned exotics end up in cages or in sanctuaries where other people have to care for them.

‘Please stop. Happy to provide you information on why this was an irresponsible and poor decision.’

The Love Island boys might have started a new section of the Do Bits Society as Wes Nelson has revealed that only some of the lads are in the same group chat.

Wes revealed that his boys have had his back during his time on Dancing On Ice.

The Dancing On Ice finalist is in a group chat with Josh Denzel, Jack Fowler and Adam Collard, who have been bigging him up on his journey through the show.

Wes has also had support from fellow islanders Kaz Crossley and Kieran Nicholls.

He told press ahead of the final: ‘I’m in a group chat with Josh, Jack and Adam and they’ve been my hype men essentially.

‘They’re always putting stories on Instagram, Kaz has been down a couple of times, Kieran too, they’ve always been supporting me.’

The reality TV star has some good friends around him will should take the edge off the fact his ex-girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson won’t be at the final to cheer him on.

Wes and Megan split during the show after she admitted she struggled to watch him dance with professional skater Vanessa Bauer.

Addressing the rumours, Wes said: ‘There’s absolutely nothing going on with me and Vanessa. There’s still nothing going on with me and Megan. I’ve been pretty clear about that. It’s been cleared up anyway.’

Vanessa added that she struggled with the attention on her when Megan accused her of trying to get close to Wes.

‘The attention this series was very hard for me. This series was a lesson for me in terms of how to deal with pressure from the press. I think I’ve stayed dignified the whole way through because it’s not my job to comment on any of it.

‘I’m a professional figure skater and that’s my job, and I need to focus on training and making Wes the best performer he can possibly be and choreographing routines.

‘There’s so much going on as a professional skater on the show that you can’t really pay attention to things that are completely irrelevant to your job.

‘I stopped paying attention after two weeks, the first week was hard but it’s not my job, it’s not my business and it’s not what I want to be associated with. I’m a professional figure skater and that’s it.

Dancing On Ice airs Sunday at 6pm on ITV

Kaley Cuoco was getting The Big Bang Theory fans all revved up for the new episode by sharing some behind the scenes pictures.

When taking to Instagram, the 33-year-old teased the upcoming episode with some pictures of herself yawning.

Looks like the star is well and truly exhausted from filming – probably from rehearsing that flash mob.

In the caption, the Penny star joked about it not being the best time to have a yawn, as she revealed she was receiving notes from her director.

Awkward.

Fans were quick to comment on the moment and couldn’t help but laugh along with her.

One said: ‘Hahah. Love the intensity of the yawn,’ and others agreed as they commented: ‘That’s a hell of a yawn.’

Some followers even joked that her pictures were ‘contagious’ and had made them yawn from home.

This isn’t the first time Kaley has joked about what she’s like off-screen, as she recently told her five million followers that she was a ‘terrible influence’ on her fellow co-stars.

With the last ever episode of the popular show just around the corner, creator Chuck Lorre has confirmed plans to run two episodes on the programme’s final airdate.

‘It will be an hour — two episodes that will connect. It will be two separate episodes that will have a through line,’ he confirmed.

The series has been running for 12 seasons, making the show the longest running sitcom filmed in front of a live-studio audience ever.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays on CBS in the US and at a later date in the UK.

Model Megan Pormer should really rethink her Powerpuff Girls themed headwear

We have so many questions (Picture: Rich Fury/Getty Images)

The Powerpuff Girls is one of our favourite cartoons – who else better to celebrate on International Women’s Day than Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles?

But Megan Pormer unintentionally (we think) gave the animated series a rather adult twist as she paid tribute to Buttercup with some rather unfortunate headgear.

The model was one of the attendees of the Christian Cowan x The Powerpuff Girls fashion show in Los Angeles – with Cowan taking inspo from the Cartoon Network classic for a collaboration based on female empowerment.

If you cut out the ponytail, it’s all fine.. (Picture: Chelsea Lauren/REX)

Megan decided to honour the green Powerpuff Girl Buttercup by basically morphing into her – teaming her metallic green duffel coat with two huge cartoon eyes on a hairband, which she wore over her own.

So far, so good.

However, it was Megan’s decision to make her hair stand vertical by wrapping her locks in black plastic that resulted in a faux pas.

With Megan’s hair standing up straight, between two green balls, it all looked a bit… well, it was incredibly phallic, and now we can see nothing else.

Please save our minds from the gutter.

The Christian Cowan x Powerpuff Girls show attracted a host of celebs, who all wore their best bright attire to watch designs based on Bubbles, Blossom, Buttercup and Mojo Jojo strutting down the runway.

And Paris Hilton not only attended the show, she walked in it.

The heiress donned a neon pink and black tulle dress over a black vinyl bodysuit for a feminine yet badass look, with Paris rocking exaggerated winged eyeliner and pigtails as she stomped down the catwalk.

Gayle King worried emotional R Kelly would ‘hit her’ during shocking CBS interview

Gayle King has admitted that she was fearful that R Kelly may accidentally hit her during their emotional interview.

The journalist was the only person to speak to R Kelly following the news he had been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The Ignition singer has denied all the accusations.

During the interview, however, he became agitated and began ranting and raving; at times he stood up and waved his arms around in an angry manner as he protested his innocence.

‘If I had tried to comfort him or stop him, I thought that that would have escalated the situation because he was so ramped up, and the way he was hitting his fists so violently, I was more concerned that he might accidentally hit me as he’s flailing his arms,’ Gayle has now revealed.

‘Not that he intended to hurt me. I was never afraid of him. I never thought, “Oh my God, I’m in danger here.” When I look at the picture, the picture is like, Whoa.’

Speaking to Time, however, she admitted in the moment she tried to remain calm and ‘let him work through this’ so that he didn’t walk out of the room.

During the interview, Kelly appeared to get very worked up while denying the claims made against him.

At one point he described Jocelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, who live with him, as his ‘girlfriends’ and accused the girls’ parents of ‘selling their daughters’ to him.

Kelly said: ‘What kind of father, what of mother will sell their daughter to a man? How come it was OK for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from it?

‘If I were going to take my daughter and she’s 19 to a 49-year-old’s concert, I’m not going to take her to the stage and leave her.’

Joycelyn Savage, left, and Azriel Clary have defended R Kelly (Picture: AP)

Both Savage and Clary have defended the singer from the sexual abuse allegations, and accuse their own parents of pushing them to send ‘sexual videos’ to him.

The pair are among the women alleged to have been held in a so-called ‘sex cult’ run by R Kelly at his Atlanta and Chicago homes; however, the young women say they are both in relationships with R Kelly while Azriel denies having sex with him when she was 17.

Addressing the claims, Azriel told Gayle King: ‘We’re with him. We’re in a relationship. ‘We both have our individuals with him but we’re also a family.’

Kelly has been accused of sexually abusing under age girls and filming sex acts with them.

He was arrested in Chicago in February and charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four women, some of whom were aged under 17 at the time the alleged incidents took place.

A judge granted the singer a $1 million (£761,000) bond and he was released three days later after posting $100,000 (£76,000).

It’s been a tough few months for Danniella, who has also been seeking treatment for a drug addiction, after admitting she was using cocaine weekly.

The Umbrella Academy star Justin H. Min believes Number Six could still be alive

The Umbrella Academy star Justin H. Min is just as in the dark about Number Six as we are.

Also known as Ben Hargreaves in the Netflix hit, the character’s back story remains much of a mystery, and it seems the cast are none the wiser about his roots.

Chatting to Digital Spy, Number Six star Justin spoke about his thoughts surrounding the super-powered kid and commented on fan theories surrounding his death.

And it turns out the 28-year-old thinks he might still be alive.

He commented on the fan theories (Picture: Netflix)

‘I think there is a reason why Ben is with Klaus,’ he began before adding: ‘And I think there is a reason why all the other ghosts in Klaus’s life come and go but Ben is there constantly and never leaves.

‘There is something really interesting and special about that.’

However, despite him believing the character might not actually be a ghost, he continued to address the theories that Ben had ended up taking his own life.

Justin said: ‘Oh 100 per cent. I have been asking from day one how Ben died but no one will tell me.

‘I’ve gotten a couple of potential hints here and there but even Gerard himself is not 100% clear on that. So I hope as the series moves forwards, that’s something we continue to look into and explore.

The director can see another four or five seasons (Picture: Netflix)

‘I will be finding out alongside everyone else.’

The Umbrella Academy has been a huge hit with fans ever since the creator Gerard Way put out the comic more than ten years ago.

And following its success, the director Steve Blackman recently revealed the series could get another four or five seasons before the story is done.

He told Collider: ‘I know Gerard has eight volumes in his mind so whether that translates to eight seasons, I don’t know.

‘We combine certain seasons, and bits and pieces. It would be lovely to have four or five years of this show. That would be wonderful.’

The Umbrella Academy is available to watch on Netflix now.

SMILF cancelled after two series amid allegations of misconduct against Frankie Shaw

SMILF has been cancelled after two seasons amid allegations of on-set misconduct against its creator and star Frankie Shaw.

The Golden Globe-nominated series has been axed by Showtime, who made the decision after ‘weighing a variety of factors’.

The network said in a statement: ‘After weighing a variety of factors, Showtime has decided that SMILF will not move forward for a third season. The remainder of the second season will continue to air as scheduled on Showtime through its series finale on March 31.

‘We remain extremely proud of the two seasons of SMILF, and thank Frankie Shaw for her singular voice and unique creation, as well as the dozens of writers, producers, actors, directors and crew members both in Los Angeles and on location in Boston, who contributed to this exceptional series.’

ABC Studios, which produced the comedy and had a deal with Shaw, added: ‘Frankie Shaw’s overall deal with ABC Studios has been suspended without pay while we review our options.’

Frankie said in her own statement: ‘I can’t express how much I’ve loved making this show, how much I love the cast and crew and appreciate Showtime and ABC as creative partners.’

This comes after a report from The Hollywood Reporter in December, in which allegations of misconduct against Shaw, 37, were made.

Numerous employees on SMILF made complaints that Shaw allegedly inappropriately handled sex scenes, that the writer and actress behaved ‘completely unprofessionally’, and that writers were allegedly separated by race.

Samara Weaving
Samara quit after complaining about a sex scene (Picture: Dan MacMedan/WireImage)

Actress Samara Weaving was said to have quit the show after her contract was allegedly ‘breached’ during a sex scene in the second series; Weaving, who plays Nelson Rose on the show, alleged that she was put in a nude scene despite having a no nudity clause in her contract, and that the monitors were turned on despite it being a closed set.

Shaw said at the time: ‘I work daily to create an environment in which everyone should feel safe, and in which I can continue to grow as a leader and manager. I am now and always have been open to hearing and addressing all concerns and issues that fall within my control. It pains me to learn that anyone felt uncomfortable on my set.

‘I sincerely hope we can work together to resolve any and all issues, as I am committed to creating a workplace in which all people feel safe and heard.’

She added on a recent episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers: ‘I went from making short films in my basement to running a crew of over 215 people and there’s a lot of lessons along the way.’

SMILF – a comedy based on the life of single mother Bridgette – also starred Rosie O’Donnell, Miguel Gomez and Connie Britton.

The show, which was based on Shaw’s short film of the same title, was nominated for two Golden Globes last year – Best Actress for Frankie Shaw and Best Television Series.

Idris Elba has shared an impassioned speech on knife crime, urging his fans to ‘put the knives down’.

Knife-related offences have been on the rise, with Mayor Sadiq Khan this week demanding more funding for police to tackle knife crime.

This week alone, two 17-year-olds were killed in separate attacks in Britain – Jodie Chesney was killed in a knife attack in Harold Hill, east London, on Friday night while Yousef Ghaleb Makki was stabbed to death in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, on Saturday.

And new figures have shown that the number of under-16s treated for stab wounds has nearly doubled in five years.

Idris, 46, has called on fellow celebrities to urge their fans to help end knife crime, telling his own followers that stabbing someone else is ‘stabbing their own future’.

In an Instagram video, the Luther star said: ‘Knife crime is not new. I grew up in the ’80s and there was knife crime back then, between blacks and whites, and now it’s definitely between young black men in small, tiny communities, and it’s affecting everyone. We all look stupid.

‘If you’ve got a knife, or you know someone that’s got a knife, tell them to stab themselves right now, trust me. Because you’re just going to stab your future if you go and stab someone else.

‘You become a murderer, you go to prison, you ain’t got shit. For what? For some beef that lives within your community. You need to see past that.’

Idris, who grew up in Hackney, continued: ‘We have to say something about it as well, entertainers that are out there. There’s young people that look up to us, man, we need to just vocalise this. Send a message out saying put the knives down. It’s dumb. It’s dumb.

Sajid Javid on knife crime

‘We don’t need to be killing ourselves. We have so much more we can offer. And you’re going to kill your future, you’re going to kill someone else’s future, and it’s dumb.

‘Entertainers, do me a favour, man. Put out similar videos, let’s try and put out something and say that we care for our communities. Stop the knife crime, please.’

In the caption, Idris shared stats on knife-related offences in London and wrote: ‘This is NOT NEW but it IS STILL A PROBLEM. There will ALWAYS be Gangs, Rivals, Struggles In communities, we can’t control that BUT we can make noise about the STABBINGS!! We need to make noise to protect these kids. So many Mothers/Fathers have had to bury their CHILDREN and FAMILY due to stabbings. This is happening to black young kids/men doing it to ourselves.

‘We wear the same skin but yet we act like we hate that skin, our identity. It’s dumb. It’s getting worse. We OURSELVES need to step up for these kids. Waiting for the Police to do something isn’t a REAL solution, WE cannot WAIT for that. WE NEED TO MAKE NOISE IN PROTEST ABOUT THE DUMB STABBINGS, OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE DEAD AND TO PROTECT THE LIVING.

‘If you are someone that cares about this, make a video and tell them to throw the knifes away, not just ENTERTAINERS, EVERYBODY, Ring the alarm and make noise about this. Let’s own this and encourage these gangs to put down the Knifes. ENTERTAINERS IF YOU GIVE A FUCK, MAKE A VIDEO TODAY PLEASE.’

Home Secretary Sajid Javid this week met with police chiefs to discuss how to tackle the growing problem of knife crime, saying: ‘I want serious violence to be treated by all parts of government, all parts of the public sector, like a disease.

‘I think police resources are very important to deal with this. We’ve got to do everything we can. I’m absolutely committed to working with the police in doing this. We have to listen to them when they talk about resources.’

Ricky Gervais’ new show After Life is not the depiction of male mental health that TV needs

(Picture: Natalie Seery/Netflix)

After Life is the new Netflix show from Ricky Gervais, creator and star of acclaimed mid-noughties sitcoms The Office and Extras, as well as the creator and star of some other ones. After Life is destined to be filed under ‘other’.

In his new show, Gervais focuses on the ‘serious’ topics of grief and depression but ends up pedalling an obnoxious and old-fashioned message about men and masculinity.

Stylistically, the show is in Gervais’ usual mode. We are in small-town England and focused on a self-absorbed middle-aged man who will ‘learn the error of his ways’, this time following the death of his wife.

I’m presuming that’s the trajectory of the show, but I’ll never know as I’m not going to watch it all. As someone with lots of experience of serious depression, After Life is a tough watch.

I don’t mean that it’s ‘triggering’ – Gervais’ new show didn’t give me a panic attack – but it made me roll my eyes so much I started to get dizzy.

When I first heard about After Life, my feelings were ambiguous. Like many people of my age, The Office and Extras were important cultural markers of my teenage years, but Gervais’ more recent work didn’t leave me optimistic.

And, alas, After Life is what I feared. Not only is the revelation that Gervais’ character is ‘suicidal’ delivered by Tom Basden in the same tone Gervais uses elsewhere to, for example, admonish a postman for handing letters directly to him rather than through his letterbox, but there is a comically-bad-at-his-job therapist who uses the phrase ‘mental case’ during a session. It all just feels a little regressive.

It’s a damaging stereotype, this idea that obnoxious male behaviour and depression are linked. To characterise badly-behaved men as ‘broken and needing fixing’ excuses rudeness, cruelty and callousness.

Suffering from mental illness is not an excuse to – as Gervais’ character does – shout crude abuse at children. This character is a damaging poster boy for male depression. It’s all a bit ‘forgive me, I’m sad.’

It’s a tired and lazy trope, the ‘sad man lashing out’, and lots of charities (particularly MIND) have done great work to dispel that idea. Anger cannot be the only acceptable male emotion.

The show and its arc would be easier to handle if Gervais’ character was otherwise more appealing. He is an incompetent man not as a result of grief, but as part of his identity. In the video message his dying wife leaves, she tells him when to put the bins out, how to care for their dog and how to turn off the burglar alarm. These are obviously things a functioning adult should already know.

Gervais isn’t showing us a man broken by depression, he’s showing us a man using depression to justify his long-term poor behaviour. This is a show about a man who cannot take care of himself, neither practically nor psychologically.

This is not a positive model of masculinity. Being sad is not an excuse to be unpleasant. We need to see men on television who have strong emotional lives, who can cry in public, who can feel unhappy without lashing out, who can talk about their feelings without being pushed to, and we need to see men able to love women without relying on them.

It could be argued that a performer like Gervais choosing to talk about depression is a positive thing, but acknowledging the existence of male emotions isn’t revelatory.

Maybe life would be immediately easier for sad, obnoxious men if their sadness afforded them carte blanche to be rude and verbally abusive, but it wouldn’t be easier for anyone around them, or for their own long-term happiness.

After Life isn’t the show about men and depression the world needs, nor is it the one we deserve. Alan Partridge’s Toblerone addiction is nuanced in comparison, and that was almost 20 years ago. After Life is a missed opportunity.

Michael Jackson has been at the centre of sexual abuse allegations, after documentary Leaving Neverland aired, in which Wade Robson and James Safechuck claim the singer abused them as children.

And a previously unreleased song he penned about kids has raised eyebrows, following the claims.

The track in question, Do You Know Where Your Children Are?, is thought to have been recorded in 1986, and was included in the posthumous album, Xscape, in 2014, five years after his death.

(FILES) In this file photo taken on August 31, 1993, US pop megastar Michael Jackson performs during his "Dangerous" tour in Singapore. - Celebrity talk show host Oprah Winfrey waded into the Michael Jackson debate March 4, 2019, hosting an hour-long interview of the men who say the late superstar sexually abused them as minors. The special aired on HBO after the conclusion of the network's presentation of a bombshell four-hour documentary entitled "Leaving Neverland," which has thrown the late Jackson's legacy into question nearly a decade after his death. The lyrics reference a 12-year-old girl who runs away from home after being abused, and eventually ‘sells her body hard’ on the streets.

‘She wrote that she is tired of step daddy using her,’ he can be heard singing. ‘Saying that he’ll buy her things, while sexually abusing her.

‘Now she’s on the move, she’s off to Hollywood, she says she wanna be a star, she heard the money’s good.

‘She gets off from the train station, the man is waiting there. “I’ll show you where the money is, girl just let down your hair”.

‘He’s taking her on the streets, of Sunset Boulevard, she’s selling her body hard, girl that will take you far.’

Michael’s music has been banned on a number of radio stations after HBO’s Leaving Neverland was released.

The documentary focuses on James Safechuck and Wade Robson, who accused the late singer of sexually abusing them when they were children.

Wade, now 36, alleges that he was sexually abused by the Thriller singer between the ages of seven and 14.

And 41-year-old James claims he was abused from when he was 10 to 14, with both men putting forward their allegations in graphic detail during the two-part show.

Paris Jackson has defended her dad over the Leaving Neverland documentary (Picture: Getty)

The estate of Jackson has vehemently denied all allegations, calling them ‘character assassination’ – and are suing HBO for $100million over the documentary.

In response to the backlash, daughter Paris Jackson has come out in defence of her dad’s ‘good heart’.

Hitting back at a fan who said his legacy and name has been ‘ruined’, she said: ‘Yeah they do that to everyone with a good heart and tries to make a difference, but do you really think that it’s possible to tear his name down?

‘Like do you truly believe they stand a chance? Relax and have peace.’

While some radio stations have decided to stop playing his music, and The Simpsons bosses have taken his 1991 episode out of circulation, his music has re-entered the charts.

Michael’s Number Ones album and HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book 1, were among the records climbing up on Friday.

Game of Thrones is set to finish big soon, with their last series all filmed and ready to air very soon.

Fans will likely be realising the bittersweet nature of getting a cracker of a season, but knowing it’s the last time they’ll see their faves.

Series 8 debuts on Sky Atlantic in April, and we know already that the White King has a plot to kill somebody.

Who that will be is yet to be worked out, though, but given GoT’s form for veritable bloodbaths in the past, it’s a wonder whether any of the characters will get to the end alive.

Two companies – SkyBet and BetVictor – are taking bets on who will die in this new instalment.

Interestingly, because of George R.R. Martin’s propensity to kill those in his stories, some of those you might want to put some money on will hardly get you any return at all.

Favourites so far to kick the bucket include Euron Greyjoy and Cersei Lannister, but honestly no-one is safe from the scythe’s merciless swing. Have a flutter at your own peril.

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson’s career from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to Avengers: Endgame

What with an Oscar under her belt, and starring in the MCU’s first female-led blockbuster Captain Marvel, Brie Larson has got a lot going for her.

Larson, 29, has certainly achieved a great deal in her career, which started way back in 1998, when she was just a child.

As critically acclaimed Captain Marvel continues to smash the box office, here’s everything you need to know about Brie Larson as she continues to dominate Hollywood.

Brie Larson’s life and career

Larson was born Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers in 1989 in Sacramento, California to Heather and French Canadian Sylvain Desaulniers.

As a child, Larson was home-schooled, and spoke French as her first language. By the time she was six, she showed an interest in wanting to act.

That year, she became the youngest student admitted to the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.

Brie Larson as a child

Because her last name was hard to properly pronounce, she eventually adopted her screen name Larson from her Swedish great-grandmother, and from an American Girl doll called Kirsten Larson that she was given when she was a child.

Her first acting job was in 1998, when she performed in a commercial parody for Barbie, called Malibu Mudslide Barbie, in an episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

After that, she appeared in episodes of television shows like Touched by an Angel, Popular, and To Have & to Hold, while her first big role was in Raising Dad, as Emily Stewart, the daughter of Bob Saget’s character Matt from 2001 until 2002.

Since since her time on Raising Dad, Larson has worked steadily, getting relatively smaller parts in things like 13 Going on 30, Ghost Whisperer, as Envy Adams in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World in 2010, and as Kate Gregson in United States of Tara from 2009 until 2011.

She also had a prominent role in 21 Jump Street as Molly Tracey in 2012, but her big break didn’t come until the following year, when she starred as Grace in the indie hit Short Term 12.

From then on, Larson has been seemingly unstoppable.

She had a regular role in Community as Rachel from 2013 until 2014, in Trainwreck as Amy Schumer’s on-screen sister Kim, in 2015, and that same year, was awarded an Oscar for her role as Ma in drama Room, which follows a woman and her son as they gain their freedom after having been held captive in one room for seven years.

Not only did she get an Academy Award for her turn in Room, but she also won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a Screen Actors Guild award, among others.

I did it for you, superstar

A post shared by Brie (@brielarson) on

Now, Larson has appeared in a little film called Captain Marvel as the title character.

Captain Marvel, AKA Carol Danvers, is, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, ‘the most powerful hero the MCU has ever seen’.

FYI, that includes the likes of billionaire-genius-playboy-philanthropist Iron Man, Thor, who’s an actual god, and Hulk, the guy known to smash whole cities when he gets cranky.

There have already been a great deal of fan theories surrounding whether or not Captain Marvel will be the one to defeat Thanos once and for all in Avengers: Endgame.

That theory has a lot of weight, not only because Captain Marvel is strong AF, but also because Larson is officially reprising her role as Danvers in Endgame, which comes out 26 April 2019.

For our part, we can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

Captain Marvel was released in cinemas on March 8 2019.

Jason had to clarify his comments (Picture: Wireimage)

Jason Manford has been forced to take to Twitter to clear up any confusion he may have caused after what he called a ‘sinister shout out’ to the late Sir Bruce Forsyth.

‘Loved doing my show at the London Palladium last night. Gave a shout out to Sir Brucie at the end but realised afterwards it might’ve sounded more sinister than it was meant,’ tweeted Jason.

‘I said “and a huge round of applause for Sir Brucie, who’s down there now”. What I was referring to was that his ashes are under the Palladium stage cos obviously Forsyth is very much UP in entertainment heaven somewhere.’

Jason is currently on tour with his Muddle Class show, but it seems fans were quick to reassure Jason that Sir Bruce would have seen the funny side of the whole thing with one fan responding: ‘Brucie would have seen the funny side of it @JasonManford and will be laughing and smiling.’

The comedian regularly takes to Twitter to share his stories, thoughts and opinions but in November became embroiled in a race row after it was suggested that a charity fundraiser lacked diversity.

Rising star Lolly Adefope pointed out the lack of diversity in the line-up on Twitter but leaping to the defence, Jason tweeted: ‘In fairness to Harry I know for a fact he asked a lot of his pals of all different heritage but people said no and these are the folks who said yes and didn’t cancel.

‘For example I know @omid9 [stand up Omid Djalili] was scheduled but now isn’t able to. I take your point but does seem a little harsh.’

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan also jumped on the replies to confirm he had been asked to take part but was unable to attend.

However Lolly stood by her claim, and concluded: ‘I think a gig can support a charity, and be diverse, and have a great lineup – it’s called multitasking.

‘And if diversity isn’t important to you, then it’s fine, that’s absolutely your prerogative. But I’m still going to call it out when I see it. Good intentions shouldn’t close you off to conversation.’

Khloe Kardashian recently made headlines when it was claimed Jordyn Woods slept with her baby daddy Tristan Thompson.

However it seems the 34-year-old is putting the drama in her rear view mirror, as she was spotted driving away from the Keeping Up With The Kardashians filming location.

With both hands on the wheel, the mother-of-one rode solo in her Rolls-Royce as she left the set in style.

The reality star has been in turmoil over the past month after it was thought her sister Kylie’s BFF hooked up with her long time beau.

Jordyn and Tristan are said to have been spotted ‘making out’ and ‘snuggling’ at a house party, with Woods leaving at 7am.

However, since the accusations, the 21-year-old has denied anything happened when appearing on Red Table Talk.

She said: ‘There has been no relationship over time. There’s been no relationship, no communication, no plans on meeting up, no conversation. Nothing.

‘I see what has been done to my life in only a week. The media put their focus on a young black woman that made a mistake and not one that’s worth public crucifixion.’

But Khloe didn’t believe a word she said, and hit back at the star, claiming she was the reason her family fell apart.

‘Why are you lying @jordynwoods ??’ the reality star quipped on Twitter.

‘If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story.’

She added: ‘BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!’

Since then, Koko has backtracked on her words and placed the blame on Tristan.

She wrote: ‘Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.

‘What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault.

‘I have to move on with my life & count my blessings, my family, my health, & my beautiful baby True.’

There’s seven weeks to go until Avengers: Endgame is released in cinemas and breaks all of our hearts.

And the Russo brothers have put their finishing touches on the blockbuster in the nick of time.

The directing duo have confirmed that all work has officially wrapped on Endgame, following reshoots, editing and special effects sessions.

Joe and Anthony’s official Twitter page confirmed the news, sharing a picture of tha various chocolatey and sugary toppings offered at the ‘editorial sundae bar’.

Side note – we’re most definitely pitching this idea for the Metro.co.uk offices…

Russo brothers tweet

They wrote: ‘Last day of editorial Sundae Bar. Picture is locked…’

Needless to say, Marvel fans were delighted, but also starved of details and footage, and bombarded the Russos with questions – with many people asking if the run time is still at three hours.

And we really related to one reply, reading: ‘Where is the 2nd trailer for Avengers: Endgame?! When is the 2nd trailer for Avengers: Endgame?! How is the 2nd trailer for Avengers: Endgame?!’

Seriously, we’re waiting.

Endgame is the finale in the Avengers franchise, following the harrowing ending of Infinity War – where Thanos collected all the Infinity Stones, snapped his fingers, and obliterated half the universe.

In the first (and only) trailer for Endgame, we see that Tony Stark is stranded in space and is rapidly running out of food, fuel and oxygen, while Captain America, Black Widow and Hulk are coping with the dusting of most of the Avengers.

However, it’s hinted that Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, could save the day as he shows up at Avengers HQ.

Captain Marvel will also make an appearance, as confirmed by the Brie Larson led film’s end credits – although, as Nick Fury paged her at the end of Infinity War, we never doubted that.

Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas 26 April.

Katheryn Winnick plays the strong shieldmaiden Lagertha in the historical saga Vikings.

But despite being a fierce warrior, the character finds herself wrapped in toxic relationship that leads to the mother being a victim of domestic abuse.

In season two of the History Channel hit, Lags is seen breaking off her romance with Ragnar and finding love in her new suitor Sigvard.

However, the pair end up clashing, which sees the earl beating Lagertha and even results in him attempting to rape her.

Talking about the plot to Entertainment Tonight, the 41-year-old revealed how she was unsure of taking on such a role and expressed her thoughts to the creator Michael Hirst.

She said: ‘I actually remember having that conversation with Michael. Like, “Michael, you can’t make me a battered housewife like this. It’s just not what I stand for. She’s a shieldmaiden! She’s done everything!”‘

Yet it seems Michael was quick to talk her round, explaining how women will resonated with her character even more if she took on the challenge.

Katheryn explained: ‘These women are strong.

‘They’re just put in a situation where it’s unfortunately based on power, and that’s usually what any kind of sexual or physical abuse is. It’s really a domination of power, and for [Lagertha], she always does come out stronger at the end.’

The actress then went on to tell the publication how she hopes her character can give ‘courage and confidence’ to girls who have found themselves in similar situations to Lagertha.

‘I think a lot of girls and women around the world can relate to being in a situation where their voices are not as strong,’ she said.

‘But hopefully they will have the courage and the confidence to be able to get out of the situation, and become even stronger, just as Lagertha did.’

Hirst has previously spoken about his discussion with Katheryn during an interview with Syfy, and opened up on how he convinced the star to play the role.

He said: ‘I’ve thrown everything at Lagertha. I’ve told Katheryn I would put her in lots of situations that women have been in.

‘After she’s left Ragnar in the second season, we see her married to an abusive guy. Katheryn said that she didn’t like that story, that [she’s] got a following who see Lagertha as a strong, powerful woman. “What are they going to think of me?”

‘I told her Katheryn that strong, intelligent women will relate to your situation, it’s how you deal with it that matters. I’m going to put you in lots of different situations that resonate.’

Kahanna Montrese had a rough time on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11, ending up in the bottom two twice before getting sent home in the second week.

But the hip-hop showgirl doesn’t want you feeling bad for her.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk after her elimination, Kahanna said: ‘I am a performer and that to me was winning – getting to show what I do on stage. Don’t feel bad for me that I went home second. I got to do exactly what I love doing. I gave two really good lip syncs so I’m not upset at all.

‘It was an amazing experience, I got to learn so much – the critique that I got, I’ve applied to my drag, and you will clearly see, if you come to my shows, that I bring it! I’ve grown so much.’

Kahanna never quite hit her stride in the competition, with her runway looks – which looked less polished than her rivals’ – failing to impress. But you can’t argue that she didn’t leave everything on the main stage when it came to her lip syncs.

‘That’s Kahanna!’ she laughed when we brought up her insane back flips across the stage as she battled Mercedes Iman Diamond. ‘I was like, they’re definitely saving both of us, there’s no way they’re sending me home after that! But it was amazing to see Ru’s reaction. And Michelle may not have lived for my acting challenge, and she may not have lived from my runway, but she at least got to see that I turn it out on stage.’

From the moment Kahanna entered the workroom, there were expectations placed on her. Not only because everyone was thirsty for her out of drag, but because Kahanna is the drag daughter of two-time Drag Race competitor Coco Montrese.

‘There’s definitely a lot more pressure, because fans are already comparing you – unintentionally, but they do it. Is she going to be the next lip sync assassin? Will she bring the drama?

‘In my mind, it was making sure that I made Coco proud. I’m very aware that it’s because of Coco that I’ve had the opportunities I’ve had. And I wanted people to see that I’m not only Coco’s daughter, but I’m also myself – an offspring that’s paved their own way.’

And we’re sure Coco will be one proud mama, as Kahanna is making her short time on Drag Race count.

She said: ‘It’s hard being critiqued! But I wanted to grow. The judges gave a lot of support as well, and getting that reaction from the fans, it’s a double win. Yes, there’s some things people have laughed at, but there’s been so much more love. And I can look back and laugh now – like, dang girl, what were you doing?’

So what can we expect from a Kahanna Montrese headliner post-Drag Race, other than backflips and stoned tights?

‘An elevated, fully realised woman, baby.’

RuPaul’s Drag Race continues at 9pm ET/PT on Thursdays on VH1, and drops on Netflix the following morning.
