Olivia Attwood says Love Island ‘isn’t to blame’ for Mike Thalassitis’ death

Olivia Attwood doesn’t think Love Island is to blame for Mike Thalassitis’ death (Picture: ITV)

Olivia Attwood doesn’t think Love Island is to blame for her co-star Mike Thalassitis’ death.

Mike starred alongside Olivia in series three of the ITV2 dating show – the pair were locked in a bit of a love triangle with Olivia’s ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes on the show and didn’t stay in touch when the series wrapped.

Footballer Mike was found dead in woodland near his Essex home on Saturday morning. Police confirmed the reality star took his own life and after news broke of his death, tributes poured in for Mike from both fans and fellow stars.

Love Island bosses have since confirmed that they are making changes to the show and have outlined new safeguarding plans for the islanders that take part, following Mike’s death and Sophie Gradon’s death last year.

The decision came after fans and former Love Island stars called out the show for not providing adequate aftercare, but Olivia has said it is ‘totally ludicrous to blame’ the series for Mike’s death.

(Picture: ITV)

In an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, she said: ‘People are angry and they want someone to blame. Mike was in turmoil and a lot of his problems weren’t to do with Love Island at all.’

She agreed that changes need to be made to the show and suggested: ‘It isn’t an aftercare situation but a “before care”. You need to be obligated to do a certain amount of therapy before going on Love Island to prepare you.’

While she admits that the level of fame contestants find themselves with when they leave the villa can be ‘overwhelming’, she credited Love Island for ‘saving her’ from a tough time.

‘Love Island saved me. I got a lot of heat in the villa for the way I was, but after I came out so many girls said how they related to me,’ Olivia explained.

‘I finally found this sense of self-acceptance that I never had before.’

Love Island producer Richard Cowles has said the show will now insist that all islanders meet with a therapist whether they ask for one or not, and they’ll provide the islanders with social media training and advice on financial management.

He stated that the show will no longer be reliant on islanders asking them for help, but will proactively check in on islanders on a regular basis.

It’s believed Mike’s death comes just days after his Nan passed away aged 94, who he had moved in with to become her full-time carer.

He was set to open his own restaurant, with reports indicating a reveal was set to take place next week.

Mike’s ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna has been left ‘devastated’ over his death. They dated on and off last year, splitting in August, with Megan later admitting she had fallen in love with Mike during her appearance on Celebs Go Dating.

Megan broke her silence on Mike’s death on Instagram on Monday.

She wrote: ‘Sorry I haven’t been on social media but I’m in complete shock and trying to come to terms with this. I can’t believe I’m even writing this post.

‘My thoughts and prayers are with Mike’s family. Rest in peace Mike.’

Stormzy has joined the cast of the much anticipated BBC One drama Noughts & Crosses, an adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s acclaimed children’s novel.

The star will play newspaper editor Kolawale, a character created for the TV series.

‘As a diehard fan of Malorie’s novels, being a part of this important show is a dream come true,’ he said.

Malorie Blackman said: ‘The first time I met Stormzy he informed me he was a huge fan of my Noughts and Crosses series of books.

‘I’m thrilled he will now be a part of the Noughts + Crosses TV production. It’s so exciting!’

Executive producer Preethi Mavahalli added: ‘As an icon of black British culture, we are honoured to have Stormzy play a part in this adaptation of a novel he’s such a fan of.’

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has teamed up BBC One to bring highly anticipated TV adaptation of the hit novel series penned by Malorie to life.

The entertainment giant, founded by the rapper, and Mammoth Screen – producers of Poldark and Victoria – will be taking on the story set in an alternative Britain in which a black ruling class subjugates a white population.

The story follows two young friends, Sephy and Callum, who are divided by their colour but ‘united by forbidden love and burning injustice.’

Sephy is a member of the black class and daughter of a prominent politician, while Callum is a ‘nougth’, a white member of the underclass who were once slaves to the Crosses and suffers extreme racial discrimination and segregation.

Gemma Atkinson is absolutely loving her changing pregnancy body, sharing a before and after photo of her growing baby bump while declaring herself a ‘superwoman’.

The former Hollyoaks actress is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Gorka Marquez and appears to be completely empowered by her pregnancy experience so far.

Reflecting on the past few months, Gemma, 34, shared a before photo of herself wearing workout clothes and carrying weights, alongside a current photo of her growing baby bump.

In the caption, the TV star said: ‘Our bodies are incredible! What they are capable of doing astounds me, and in both these pictures I felt / feel like superwoman.

‘I have a life inside of me ticking away ready to join us soon. The little kicks & turns & flutters are just wonderful.’

She added sweetly: ‘I feel so incredibly lucky.’

Earlier this month, Gemma gave a glimpse at her bare bump by flashing her stomach from underneath a denim shirt. At the time, the actress said she couldn’t wait to meet ‘mini Marquez’.

The early stages of Gemma’s pregnancy was plagued by terrible morning sickness, which left her exhausted and bed bound. It also meant she wasn’t able to hit the gym but, fortunately, she resumed her love of working out after recovering from the sickness.

She explained to her Instagram followers: ‘Obviously I’m not doing the same kind of workouts as I was doing because you have to adjust and every pregnancy is different.

‘The first few weeks I didn’t really do anything because I didn’t feel very well and I’ve just listened to my body.’

It’s Gemma and Gorka’s first child together after the couple met at the Strictly 2017 launch party, when the actress competed in the BBC One series.

Paris Hilton has apparently set her sights on Jack Whitehall and has been flirting with him on Instagram.

38-year-old Paris is single again after splitting from her ex-fiance Chris Zylka and it seems she’s making a play for comedian Jack.

The Sun reports that the socialite has struck up a liking for Jack ever since she saw him host the Brits last month and followed him on Instagram.

She’s been seen leaving flirty comments underneath his posts, while Jack liked a black and white photo of Paris posing on a pole. Oo-er.

Sources told the publication that Paris thinks Jack is ‘hot’ and invited him to a belated birthday party she hosted for herself at her Beverly Hills mansion in Los Angeles.

They said: ‘Paris thinks he’s gorgeous and they’ve been hanging out as she wanted to get to know him better.’

Jack posted a video of him messing about on an inflatable unicorn while hanging out by the pool in LA, and it didn’t go unnoticed by his new pal Paris who left a heart-eyed emoji and an emoji of a unicorn underneath it.

Metro.co.uk have reached out to reps for Paris and Jack.

(Picture: Instagram)

Jack, meanwhile, has been busy making us all laugh recently after revealing Prince Charles is not his biggest fan.

He appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show and explained that he’d once did a stand-up gig for Prince Charles at the royal’s Christmas party and basically, his jokes went down like a lead balloon.

‘I absolutely died. And the worst bit was, when I was walking off because nobody was applauding, it was the worst review I’ve ever got.

‘I heard Charles turn to Camilla as I was leaving the stage and he went “I think next year we’ll try a magician.”

‘There goes the knighthood!’

Cuphead – Microsoft and Nintendo’s, together at last

The morning Inbox is worried that Valve and Steam could be in serious trouble, as one reader decides to give PS Now a test.

To join in with the discussions yourself email gamecentral@ukmetro.co.uk

A busy week

That was a seriously good Nintendo Direct. I didn’t even known it was on but when I watched it later on YouTube there were some genuine surprises. I mean, we had Nintendo loaning out the Zelda franchise to some indie game I’d never heard of and Cuphead coming to Switch while Nintendo thanks Microsoft for their help. This has been quite the week for news!

There’s clearly big changes going on behind the scenes and you’ve got to assume that all the big companies already know about it, or at least suspect who the big players are. Google vs. Microsoft is going to be epic and could end up magnifying the mistakes of the Xbox One even further, making it a very close fight. My money’s on Microsoft though, they know games and Google didn’t even show any.

The fascinating thing though is the burgeoning love affair between Microsoft and Nintendo. Ori looks a dead cert for the Switch now, and a rep or two in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has got to be a big possibility now. But could we ever see Nintendo games on Xbox? I would’ve said not, but after Cadence Of Hyrule, who knows?
Cranston

Only on indie

What a great Nindies showcase from Nintendo. Almost all the games looked really interesting, even before you get to Cuphead and the Zelda crossover. I agree Outland looks great, but I’m also interested in RAD, Neo Cab, The Red Lantern, and Blaster Master Zero II.

I can already tell I’m going to tear up if any of the huskies die in The Red Lantern though, even if that just proves it’s a good game that can make me feel that way. Blaster Master Zero was great and Double Fine stuff, while sometimes a bit iffy on the gameplay, always have great ideas and I like the sort of 3D Mega Drive feel of the graphics and mutation gimmick.

I don’t know why but I’m also really drawn to Neo Cab. It’s such a weird idea, that I don’t really fully understand yet, but to me that’s the great appeal of indie games. They’re things that no big publisher would ever go near and yet they’re often the most interesting things out there. I’m glad Nintendo is giving them such exposure.

Got games

Given all the talk about streaming at the moment I thought I’d give PS Now a go, since I’d always meant to get round to it but have never really been one for retro gaming, even if it’s just a generation or two back. I played some as tests though and it actually worked pretty well. I put on Super Stardust, which is a really fast twitch game, and there was a little bit of controller lag but it was still playable.

To be honest PS Now is something I’d completely forgotten about till now as Sony never seem to want to advertise it, even though it works pretty well. With all that’s going on with Google at the moment I’d expect them to get much more heavily into it and use it much more like Game Pass, in terms of having brand new games on it. Sony has actually been into streaming for longer than anyone so while it hasn’t been a bit part of the business for them they’ve presumably got a lot of experience with the tech by now. And, unlike Google, they’ve actually got some games.

Worst case scenario

A very sensible write up of the Stadia and the future of streaming, GC. I found myself agreeing with most of it. What particularly struck me was the point about people not caring about performance as long as something is convenient. I’d actually go further and say they don’t care about anything except convenience. What other explanation is there for abandoning all thought of immersion, precision control, and graphics in order to play Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on a phone?

It’s worth in every definable way to playing it on a console or PC but it’s more convenient and so people go for it. That’s fine, I’m not trying to stop them. But when that starts to dictate how games are designed it does become a problem.

The worst case scenario for the influence of Stadia and other streaming platforms is that they start to convince publishers to design games for smartphones (since I’m sure that’s how it’ll be used most) and that starts to eat away at what’s left of the single-player market. Noboy wants to play God Of War on a phone but The Division or Call Of Duty? That could be a huge. Times are changing, and not necessarily for the better.
Dalton

Exclusive wars

With all the distractions at the moment with streaming and Google it’s fascinating to me that Steam is also currently undergoing a massive crisis. One so bad that if Valve handle it badly they might actually be in real trouble. The Outer Worlds and Control, both games that I am really looking forwards to. There’s a bunch of others too, of varying degrees of fame, and it seems almost every day that Epic Games get a new exclusive. That has got to have Valve worried.

Maybe they’ll end up like Microsoft and regret the day they ever gave up making their own games. Either way it looks like the old guard is in danger all over the map and the video games industry in a year or two may look completely different from how we’ve known it for the last couple of decades.

But Microsoft and Sony has got options, I don’t really know what Steam can do except getting into some sort of exclusive war with Epic that’s just going to anger customers and get really confusing. Buying at retail is almost beginning to look like the good old days now.
Galactic Headache

Justice for Castlevania

Those Konami collection sound so low effort I’m surprised they could even be bothered to release them. I’m genuinely unsure whether they knew Haunted House was a Castlevania game or not and didn’t just randomly fill the Arcade ‘Classics’ collection with whatever random ROMs they found on MAME. Clearly nobody that has any love for the company’s history went anywhere near any of this and I find that deeply upsetting.

Why not just the other collections have all the Castlevanias and Contras from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, rather than just naming a handful and vaguely promising more for later? You just know they’re going to leave out tons and they’ll probably be lazy ports too with technical problems. (Remember their Silent Hill ‘remaster’?)

Sorry if I sound bitter but I hate what Konami has become and I would desperately like to see someone buy their franchises and do justice to these classic games. The Castlevania bit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was so amazing it’s shameful that the company that actually makes the games can’t do at least as well.

Format wars

Is it just me guys or is this whole Google Stadia episode thing sounding more and more like the Betamax of the video technology way back in the late ‘70s. And Amazon are just going to become the new VHS equivalent when they reveal their gaming introduction to us later in the year?
JAH

GC: Amazon hasn’t announced anything? Their video game plans are just a rumour.

Positive change

I’m looking forward to Stadia. No idea if I’ll adopt it or not, but it’s a new concept and I always like to try new things and to see how they disrupt existing things.

Generally, subscription services are financially beneficial to heavy users, which rightly or wrongly I’ve assumed is most people here. If it means we can cut out the cost of a console, it’s accessories and the actual games, and be in a position where we can all have enough money left over to cover a better Internet subscription then it’ll change more than games.

If there is an uplift in people getting fibre then ISPs will get more money too, allowing them to improve infrastructure faster and reduce costs, etc.

Of course the other benefit is that we don’t just use our Internet for games, it would benefit music, TV and all the rest of it that the whole family and even the house uses these days.

Of course, that only works if Stadia and a better Internet package costs less than the current console, peripherals, games, and existing Internet package. Also, assuming people don’t choose to buy another console too. Anyhow, I like change, I’m excited to see how this plays out.

This week’s Hot Topic

The subject for this weekend’s Inbox was suggested by reader Tom Meadows, who asks what Achievement or Trophy are you most proud of getting?

Achievements, Trophies, and similar in-game rewards have been a staple of video games for a long time now, but which did you find the most satisfying to get and how long did it take you? How much do you care about achievements in general and what inspires you to go after the more difficult or time-consuming ones?

What’s the secret of designing a good achievement and what are some of your favourite, and least favourite, examples? Are there any old games you wish achievements could be added to or a modern title that you think missed an obvious opportunity?

Brooklyn Beckham and Hana Cross may seem as smitten as ever, but apparently the pair have now had their first fight.

20-year-old Brooklyn had a bit of a boozy night out in Camden on Friday to see Yungblud perform at Electric Ballroom.

He was with Hana and their friends, but pictures later surfaced of him taking five outside in the street in the early hours of Saturday on his own.

Sources claimed to Mail Online that Brooklyn was ‘pretty drunk’ and said he had ‘lost’ his pals, but insiders have now told The Sun, he had stormed off after allegedly getting into a ‘major bust-up’ with Hana.

She reportedly doesn’t like him ‘drinking too much’, with the insider telling the paper: ‘Brooklyn had sunk a few beers and ended up getting into a row with Hana.

Brooklyn was spotted outside on the street on his own in the early hours of Saturday

‘It had been a bit of a wild night out and it got a bit messy.’

They added: ‘Brooklyn got really upset and ended up storming into the street. Hana read him the riot act and told him she didn’t like it when he was acting up and drinking too much.’

Metro.co.uk have reached out to Brooklyn’s rep.

Hana and Brooklyn were first linked back in December and, bust up aside, things appear to be going from strength to strength for the new couple.

David and Victoria’s eldest son has been seen cooing over his new gal on Instagram and told his followers he is the ‘luckiest man in the world’ while celebrating Valentine’s Day with Hana in Paris last month.

He’s not the only Beckham dating right now, as Brooklyn’s brother Romeo is reportedly dating Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. Yes, really.

They’ve been given the green light by Victoria, with sources telling The Sun: ‘It’s early days but they make a very sweet couple.

‘Posh has given it the seal of approval as she is a big fan of Millie’s.’

Romeo, 16, is said to have first met 15-year-old Millie two years ago in December 2016.

She presented him with an award at Unicef’s 70th anniversary gala and the rest, as they say, is history…

Hailey Baldwin says mental health should be a priority after husband Justin Bieber admits struggles

Hailey Baldwin says mental health should be everyone’s top priority (Picture: WireImage)

Hailey Baldwin has spoken out about mental health and insists it should be everyone’s priority.

The model, who is married to Justin Bieber, addressed how mental health is gaining more and more attention worldwide in a new interview with People magazine and said she thinks we all can be a little guilty in letting it ‘fall to the side’.

Speaking to the publication on Tuesday, Hailey said: ‘I think your mental health should be number one and it falls to the side a lot.

‘There’s more attention on mental health these days, and I see why, and I get it. I think you have to know what works for you.’

Hailey revealed that she keeps herself in check by taking time away from her life in the public eye and spending time at the beach – much like she did with Justin in Los Angeles a few days ago.

‘I think it’s grounding,’ she said. ‘The sound of the ocean, being in the sun — there are so many things that are healthy about the beach to me… there’s a lot of different levels of self-care… eating right, drinking a lot of water and working out.

‘It’s really good for your mentality.’

The topic is a poignant one for Hailey right now, as husband Justin recently confessed to fans that he has been ‘struggling a lot’.

The Baby hitmaker has been receiving treatment for depression and shared an honest update with his followers on Instagram where he said he was ‘feeling disconnected and weird lately’.

Justin wrote: ‘Just wanted to keep you guys updated a little bit hopefully what I’m going through will resonate with you guys. Been struggling a lot.

‘Just feeling super disconnected and weird… I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask for your guys to pray for me.’

Hailey had encouraged Justin to seek help with his depression and he is now focusing on his mental health and getting into a better place.

Sources claim that Hailey ‘isn’t putting any pressure’ on the star and they have postponed their wedding until Justin is ready.

‘They will still have a wedding eventually, but this is no their focus right now,’ insiders told People. ‘They will wait until Justin feels better and is excited about planning their wedding again.’

‘He wants to be in a great place for his own and Hailey’s sake. He is still confident that he will get there.’

Technically Hailey and Justin are already married. They tied the knot in a courthouse service in New York in September, two months after announcing their engagement in July last year.

But, the couple had been planning another wedding day to host a religious blessing for their family and friends.

Lee Daniels says Empire cast has felt ‘pain, anger and frustration’ amid Jussie Smollett investigation

CHICAGO, IL - MARCH 14: Actor Jussie Smollett arrives at Leighton Criminal Courthouse on March 14, 2019 in Chicago, Illinois. Empire director Lee Daniels returned to Instagram on Wednesday and told fans the cast have been feeling ‘pain, anger and frustration’ amid the investigation into Jussie Smollett’s attack.

Jussie, who plays Jamal Lyon on the Fox series, was attacked in Chicago by two masked men, in an incident initially treated as a hate crime, at the end of January.

Two men were released and questioned over the attack and Jussie later found himself at the centre of claims he ‘orchestrated’ the attack; allegations he has continuously denied.

The 36-year-old is now facing 16 charges over filing a police report and recently pleaded not guilty to the indictment.

Speaking about the impact his case has had on the Empire cast and crew, Daniels posted a video to Instagram and said the last couple of weeks have been a ‘freaking roller-coaster’.

He said: ‘These past couple of weeks have been a freaking roller-coaster, we have, me and my cast, have experience pain and anger… and sadness and frustration, and we really don’t know how to deal with it you know.

Everything that happens that you’re seeing [on Empire] tonight is prior to the incident. This isn’t what the show was made for.

‘The show was made to being America together and to talk about the atrocities happening in the streets.’

Jussie’s future on Empire has been widely speculated about given his ongoing case, but Empire boss Brett Mahoney has said it’s ‘too early’ to consider the show without the actor.

Debunking reports Jussie’s character could be recast or killed off, Mahoney told Entertainment Weekly: ‘It’s too early to think about what we would have to do if we didn’t have Jussie… it’s too early to think about the show without him.’

Jussie plays Jamal Lyon in Fox series Empire (Picture: Getty Images)

Mahoney claimed that Jussie’s case has ‘brought everyone together’ on set – again squashing reports claiming there are tensions between Jussie and the rest of the cast.

Taraji P Henson, who plays Jussie’s onscreen mum Cookie Lyon, said she is ‘staying positive’ and is ‘full of hope’ amid the investigation.

Jussie, who is ‘maintaining his innocence’ in light of the new charges applied, is now potentially facing a maximum of three years in prison, a $25,000 fine and 60 years probation if convicted.

He is due back in court in mid-April.

Michael Jackson’s Neverland home faces ‘being demolished’ after struggling to sell in wake of sexual abuse claims

Michael Jackson’s Neverland home is facing demolition after struggling to sell, according to reports.

The ranch is the focus of the Leaving Neverland documentary that explores claims made by Wade Robson and James Safechuck in graphic detail, accusing Michael of sexually abusing them when they were children at his Neverland home.

The Michael Jackson estate and his family have strongly denied the claims. His estate is suing HBO for $100million, while the Jackson family has accused Robson and Safechuck of lying over the allegations and ‘trying to make money’ off Michael.

Jackson, who died in 2009, has been subjected to backlash since Leaving Neverland aired in the UK and the US and reports claim his Neverland Ranch is now struggling to sell on the property market as a result.

The property, located in Santa Barbara, California, has been renamed to Sycamore Valley Ranch and faced a drastic reduction of 69% in order to entice potential buyers.

In 2015, Neverland Ranch was put on sale for $100 million (£76.6 million) and the price has now dropped significantly to $31million (£23million).

But property expert Ruban Selvanayagam (of Property Solvers) has told Daily Star, Neverland now faces ‘being demolished’.

He explained: ‘I suspect most of it will be demolished as I doubt many developers would want to maintain Michael Jackson’s legacy after these shocking allegations.

‘Perhaps someone may think that Neverland could be rebranded somehow, but this would be doomed to failure in my view.’

He added the ranch’s owners have the option of ‘cutting their losses’ and destroying Neverland to build something new.

Leaving Neverland proved to be divisive following its broadcast, with some viewers supporting Robson and Safechuck’s story and others branding it ‘one-sided’ in defence of Michael.

The documentary’s director Dan Reed is reportedly now looking at making a movie about Jackson and his 2005 trial, where he was acquitted of all charges.

Reed told Film School Rejects that if the alleged victim Gavin Arvizo would be up for discussing his trial, then he would be more than happy about making another film.

Dan said: ‘The film I would really like to make following this one is the trial of Michael Jackson. I could only do that if the victim and his family participate.

‘If Gavin Arvizo and his family would agree to participate, I would very much like to tell the story of that trial. I think it’s fascinating and astonishing that Michael was acquitted. The way that happened is an amazing story and one that should be told.’

Kristoff St John’s daughter Paris files to control his estate after the actor dies without a will in place

Kristoff St John’s daughter Paris has reportedly filed to take control of his estate, following his death.

The Young and the Restless star died at the beginning of February, aged 52, and reports now suggest that Kristoff didn’t have a will in place before his death.

The Blast reports that Kristoff’s eldest daughter Paris, who he shares with his first wife Mia St John, has petitioned to a Los Angeles court to become the administrator of her dad’s estate.

The publication claims that Paris listed her father’s net value at $122,000 (£92,313) and that he died ‘without a will’.

Kristoff was found dead at his San Fernando home in Los Angeles on 3 February.

It was recently revealed his death was caused by a combination of heart disease and an accidental overdose.

TMZ reports that the star’s death has been listed as hypertrophic heart disease and is categorised as accidental in relation to the alcohol overdose in a LA coroner’s report.

It’s said the heart disease made it difficult for the heart to pump blood and is easy to go undiagnosed. The autopsy report allegedly reveals that Kristoff was released from a mental health facility two days before his death, after reportedly checking himself in.

Sources claim Kristoff was admitted to UCLA Medical Center in January to battle depression, which they say was partly linked to his son Julian’s suicide in 2014.

Following his death, Kristoff and Mia – Julian’s mum – founded the El Saber Es Poder Foundation to battle mental illness.

Kristoff is also dad to daughter Lola, from his second marriage to Allana Nadal. He became engaged to Russian model Kseniya Mikhaleva five months ago.

Kseniya shared a heartfelt post mourning her fiancé following his death.

Alongside a selfie of the pair, she wrote: ‘How did it happen ??? How ??? Why did you leave so early ???? and left me alone ….. I can’t believe you were everything to me …. you were a loving father, a loving man,…..how (sic).’

Kristoff was best known for his role in the long-running CBS show The Young and the Restless, which he joined in 1991, and earned nine Daytime Emmy Award nominations over the course of his career.

Bhad Bhabie received an early birthday present from her management team on Wednesday and it seems like no expense was spared.

The US rapper is set to turn 16 years old on 26 March and marking her milestone birthday, Bhad Bhabie was given a brand spanking new watch from her team.

But not just any watch, oh no. Just a $42,000 (£31,780) diamond encrusted Rolex. We’re talking 15.38 carats around the band and another 1.5 carats in the roman numerals on the watch face.

That’s a whole lotta diamonds and some serious bling.

Showing off her new accessory on Instagram, Bhad Bhabie – real name Danielle Bregoli – said: ‘THANK YOU to my managers since day one @realadamkluger and @flueagency for the early bday gift.’

If this is what she gets for her 16th, imagine what she’ll get for her 21st. We just can’t.

Bhad Bhabie, who recently came under fire for splashing out $40k on her teeth, has launched her very own reality show on Snapchat – the social media app’s first reality series.

The 12-episode series Bringing Up Bhabie gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the star’s life.

And it’s not the only exciting venture, Bhad Bhabie has signed herself up for as she landed a $90,000 (£700,000) endorsement deal with beauty brand Copy Cat Beauty.

She’s put her name to various beauty products including eyeshadow palettes, lip products and face masks and reportedly drummed up a huge $500,000 (£390,000) in just one day, giving beauty mogul Kylie Jenner and her lip kits a run for their money.

In fact, the brand’s teased that Bhad Bhabie will likely launch her own line ‘in the near future’. You gotta give the girl props.

Rebel Wilson says near-death experience with malaria left her hallucinating about becoming an actress

Rebel Wilson has revealed a near-death experience with malaria was actually behind her decision to become an actress.

Not your ideal source for inspiration, but Rebel claims her experience with the tropical disease ‘changed the course of her life’.

The 39-year-old recalled how she contracted malaria during a trip to Mozambique when she was 19.

Despite being advised to take medication to prevent her from getting the infection, Rebel admitted she was put off by the harsh side effects and chanced it instead.

Appearing on the Aussies In Hollywood podcast, Rebel said: ‘They tried to give me pills, but I heard they can cause mental problems, so I ended up being the stupid person who got [malaria].’

She ended up in hospital because of it and was given drugs to tackle the infection, but they led to her hallucinating. Hallucinating about being an actress, that is.

Rebel recently starred in her own rom-com/anti rom-com Isn’t It Romantic (Picture: FilmMagic)

The Pitch Perfect star explained: ‘I’m just lying there in hospital, can’t really hear, can’t really watch TV and I was just hallucinating on the drugs that I was an actress.

‘I was giving an acceptance speech… an acceptance rap, which seems so dorky now. When people have kind of near-death experiences, people can experience certain things that really change the course of their life.’

Now, Rebel has made a name for herself in the acting world and is best known for her appearances in the Pitch Perfect movies, How To Be Single, where she starred alongside Dakota Johnson, and 2011 hit Bridesmaids.

Fans recently saw Rebel in Isn’t It Romantic, a rom-com/anti rom-com which is her first feature film as an executive producer.

She actually stars in every single scene in the movie and got to cast Liam Hemsworth as her love interest in the comedy.

Although, Rebel has said she made sure to keep any kissing scenes with Liam completely PG out of respect for his wife Miley Cyrus.

She told Build Series: ‘Obviously I respect Miley, like, 100%, so you know, it was all PG-13. It is awkward if you think about it… [but] obviously our movie was PG-13, so nothing full on was going to happen.’

Liam joined Rebel for the interview and said the pair kept things ‘light and fun’ because kissing scenes are always a ‘little nerve-wracking’.

‘All of a sudden you have to make physical contact with their lips, that’s always a little nerve-wracking. You’re doing it in front of a lot people, but it was really fun,’ he said.

And Miley didn’t seem to mind at all – in fact, she announced that she wants Rebel to be in a ‘throuple’ (aka a three person couple) with her and Liam.

Black Panther’s Winston Duke shocked at being ‘sexualised and fetishised’ as he talks double standards

Black Panther’s Winston Duke played the character M’Baku in the 2018 Marvel hit.

But despite the film being a roaring success, the 32-year-old has since opened up on how he was objectified after its release.

Chatting to the Evening Standard magazine, the star revealed how shocked he was to be ‘sexualised and fetishised’ while addressing the issue of double standards.

He told the publication: ‘I didn’t expect to be, um, kind of sexualised and fetishised like that. I didn’t want to be consumed only as a sexual object.

‘Although it felt good, if it was done to a woman, it wouldn’t be acceptable.’

Winston then went on to ask why viewers decided to perceive him that way.

‘It was really important to me to steer the conversation towards asking why people are reacting that way,’ he said, before questioning: ‘How often do they see characters like this on film?’

‘How often do they see black men represented with so much dimension and class, with a masculinity that feels authentic, yet malleable?’

The actor added: ‘I don’t think that’s represented very often, and it’s really important to point that out.’

Winston is currently promoting the new Jordan Peele movie Us, and spoke about the same sentiment when addressing the meaning behind the upcoming film.

He told Metro.co.uk that the film is about cultures of power and privilege: ‘It’s really about the people we render invisible and speechless.

‘What’s the cost of our comfort? Are we prepared for, essentially, our sins to be a reflection of ourselves?’

Winston asked why viewers decided to perceive him that way (Picture: FilmMagic)

He added: ‘[Horror films] paint a picture of your reality that is totally different to the dominant culture’s perceived notion of what you can go through, and for many people it doesn’t look like what people think it does.

‘Not being seen or heard, or given opportunities and being limited hurts. It is scary. Not being safe is scary,’ he said.

‘Potentially losing your life because you’re wearing a hoodie, that’s a scary thing that tons of people have to deal with every day.

‘For women, not being able to walk the streets at night wearing what you want and potentially being blamed for it, that is scary. Being LGBTQ and just living in the world is scary.’

The star continued: ‘What is powerful about Jordan Peele’s films though is we get to redefine words. We get to redefine words like violence – what does violence really look like?

‘Is it always blood and gore, knives and guns, or is it also -isms? Is that also violent? Gentrification? Racism as a concept? A lot of redefinition.’

Robert Downey Jr questions our loyalty by making us choose between his moustache and Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans’

Wow, this is one doozy for a Thursday morning – who would you rather: Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo or Chris Evans?

Before you answer, let us mention we’re talking about their moustaches and nothing else.

There seems to be a new battle brewing in the land of the Avengers, after Robert, who plays Iron Man/Tony Stark, issued a real Sophie’s Choice to punters this week.

Taking to Twitter, the actor shared an image of his tickly lip foliage compared with that of Chris, AKA Captain America/Steve Rogers, and Mark – the man we call Hulk/Bruce Banner.

Not taking any prisoners, Rob cut right to the chase as he demanded to know: ‘Ok this time it’s real—Who wore it best, @ChrisEvans @MarkRuffalo?’

The three photos are absolutely magnifique, as well *kisses fingertips*.

Robert’s is of him at the Iron Man press conference in Tokyo in 2008, while Chris is hanging at the launch of the Broadway play Lobby Hero last year. Mark’s is a throwback with an old portrait shot by photographer Jim Wright.

Obviously Mark was all over that demand, as well, being a man of the internet and what not, as he replied pretty much straight away.

‘I mustache…does quantity count?’ the dad said, using a very dad joke to illustrate said dad-ness. ‘Or different kinds of mustaches?

‘I’ve seen quite a few unique styles over the years.’

He’s not lying.

Chris is yet to pipe up about his own soup strainer but we can only assume the clapback will be as epic as Thanos’s Snap.

Fans did throw their own choices into the ring, but mostly it was volunteering other Avengers into the moustache pit. From Tom Hiddleston’s imaginary moustache he’s twirled into our lives, to the face lace Chris Hemsworth has previously sported.

Paul Rudd also owns a pretty impressive ‘tache when push comes to shove.

It comes as we eagerly push forward to the April release date of Endgame, the final chapter in the third phase of the MCU.

There is no promise any of these men will sport moustaches, and there is but a mere crumb catcher (how many more moustache slang words can we fit in here?) possessed only by Robert in the latest trailer.

In the brand new two-minute teaser, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) has joined her fellow Avengers after Thanos’ deadly snap and makes acquaintances with Thor, played by Chris H.

It looks like Captain Marvel has instantly received Thor’s seal of approval as he smiles and remarks: ‘I like this one.’

Elsewhere in the trailer, Robert as Tony makes an appearance, alongside Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Ant-Man (old mate Paul), hinting that he’ll make his return to Earth after he was last seen floating in the middle of space, left for dead.

Prepare for heartbreak though as the trailer also shows scenes of funerals so Thanos’ snap definitely didn’t end well for some of our beloved superheroes.

Moustaches TBC.

Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas 25 April.

Katheryn Winnick and her Vikings co-star Kristy Dawn Dinsmore have finally spilled on what their secret project is.

For almost a month, the 41-year-old actress has been teasing that she has a new mission up her sleeve.

And while fans thought it was something to do with the History Channel hit, it turns out the Lagertha star is actually getting involved in the Bite The Bullet campaign.

The company aim to give a voice to those who have been through hardships, and to help them ‘bite the bullet’ and talk about their experience.

Just last month Alexander Ludwig, who plays Bjorn in the historical saga, spoke about his battle with addiction – so it’s no wonder his onscreen mum is offering up her support.

Taking to her Instagram story, the star spoke about how excited she was for the project, and how she was about to go and get pampered before heading off to a shoot.

Katheryn told her 3.1million followers: ‘Hey guys, here at a photo-shoot for my secret project and I am so excited.

She added: ‘I’m going to give you guys some sneak peeks and see if you can guess what it is.’

Katheryn then shared a boomerang of herself getting her hair done, next to the caption: ‘Last fluff and ready to shoot.’

But despite promising a look at what she was getting up to, the actress stopped posting to her story then, and it was in fact her co-star Kristy that filled us in on the deets.

Sharing pictures from the day, Alexander’s girlfriend shared a series of photos onto her story showing Katheryn doing her thing as she posed in front of the camera.

Letting slip what the whole project was for, the star tagged the Bite The Bullet account while her Vikings buddy did her best front kick towards the camera.

Kristy has recently spoken about Bite The Bullet where she revealed what made her get behind the project.

She told YVR Screen Scene: ‘Often when people are going through struggles, whether it’s addiction or something else, there are people behind them who are also going through it with them.

‘When I was nine my mother died from a brain tumour. I’m biting two bullets to express two very different paths I could have taken when confronted with these challenges.

‘I could have succumbed to being a victim, or I could choose to accept that some things are out of my control.

She added: ‘When I finally accepted the things I couldn’t change, I was able to take the appropriate steps towards changing what I could. One day at a time is my motto.’

Mum comes under fire for claiming ‘being gay is a choice’ in tense TV debate over LGBT lessons in schools

Mum Izzy Montague has come under fire for stating she believes being gay is ‘a choice’.

Izzy appeared in a live TV interview with Tom Cox, who is gay, to discuss parents who have been protesting against their children being taught about sexual orientation in schools.

Dad-of-one Tom explained: ‘You’re born with your sexual preference, you are gay or you’re not.’

Izzy started shaking her head and when asked why, she said: ‘I don’t agree that you’re born anything.

‘Of course I believe it’s a choice. I made a choice of what I believe is right or wrong, I don’t remember ever thinking to myself “am I gay or am I straight?”

Izzy Montague was criticised for stating that being gay is ‘a choice’ (Picture: ITV)
She appeared on the show with dad Tom Cox who felt children should learn about real life in schools (Picture: ITV)

‘It’s something I have done based on my belief. So even if I was gay, I do believe based on my belief that I feel that a heterosexual relationship is a right course of action for me.

‘No one has forced you to be in a gay relationship. This is a decision that you have made.’

Her controversial comments were met with a fair bit of backlash on social media.

However, she did have a few supporters who felt it should be up to the parents to decide what their children should and shouldn’t be taught.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, Izzy added that she feels she ‘should be the one to teach my child anything to do with relationships’.

‘My child goes to school to receive an education, that’s what I’m concentrating on, not anything to with the teacher’s opinions about what’s a good relationship what’s a bad relationship. That’s not what children go to school for.

‘There’s many things in life that you could also say that they need to learn about, like the dangers. The dangers of life like murders and rapists and everything in life.

‘I think personally children are not there for you to brainwash into what good relationships are just because it’s real life.’

Tom argued back: ‘Do you not think that we live in such a diverse nation in our towns and in our villages that the school is gonna be able to give a greater representation of that potentially more than you could?

‘I don’t dispute that it is a parent’s right to choose what they go to school for and how you raise them…I think you’re doing your child a disservice by not allowing them to see that families come in all different shapes and sizes.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.

Olly Murs vows never to date a celebrity again, as it causes him too much ‘anxiety’

Olly Murs is all about that self-care and solid mental health these days, as he vowed never to date a fellow celebrity again.

Seems it causes the lad too much anxiety.

He’s been on the market for a tad, or so we believe, after he apparently dated model/presenter Melanie Sykes.

But the 35-year-old admitted he’s just too darn ‘private’ to cope with the attention a high profile relationship brings. He’s no monster, though, and is still keen to settle down with one of us norms – or at least someone who makes him feel ‘alive’.

Talking about dating a fellow famer, he noted to The Sun: ‘Hats off to anyone who can date someone in the public eye. I’d feel uncomfortable because I’m a private person, I don’t know if I’d cope with it.

‘Dating someone in the celeb world gives me anxiety.’

The Voice UK coach hasn’t been in a serious relationship since splitting from long-term partner Francesca Thomas in 2015, but still holds out hope he’ll be a dad someday.

‘A few people who are married have said to me recently, “Olly don’t get married, stay single until the last minute”,’ he said. ‘But of course I’d love to get married and have kids. I think I’d be a great dad.’

He added: ‘To be a dad someday… I’d really enjoy it. A boy and a girl would be great – but just being in a relationship would be great at some point too.

‘We’ll see what happens. There’s no pressure for me though.’

Away from his love life, anxiety is something Olly has admitted hits him to bad it has him forgetting lyrics on stage.

Earlier this month he described how he was unable to breathe when he was first hit with the condition.

The star told The Mirror: ‘My heart was pounding and I couldn’t breathe. I’m standing behind the mic and I’m talking trying to calm myself down, thinking: “What’s going on? I’ve never ever been like this”.

‘It was genuine panic.’

After getting help, Olly is now able to manage his anxiety and has urged other men to speak up about their problems.

Vikings star Alexander Ludwig has recently opened up about his battle against addiction.

Just last month, the 26-year-old spoke about his fight with the disease during in a video supporting the Bite The Bullet campaign.

The company aim to give a voice to those who have been through hardships, and to help them ‘bite the bullet’ and talk about their experience.

And now it looks as though his onscreen mum Katheryn Winnick is throwing her support behind the actor, as she has teamed up with the campaign for a new project.

Taking to her Instagram story, the 41-year-old teased: ‘Hey guys, here at a photo-shoot for my secret project and I am so excited.’

She added: ‘I’m going to give you guys some sneak peeks and see if you can guess what it is.’

And while Katheryn did her thing in front of the camera, her co-star and Alexander’s girlfriend, Kristy Dawn Dinsmore documented the day over on her account.

Here she shared a number of pictures of her Vikings buddy strutting her stuff in front of the team.

Sharing one of his gal’s posts, Alexander thanked Katheryn for all of her support.

He wrote to his two million followers: ‘Katheryn Winnick you are an inspiration, thank you for supporting a great cause #bitethebullet.’

Both Kristy and Alexander have been huge advocates for the campaign, with Kristy opening up about how she lost her mum at just nine-years-old.

Her beau also spoke about his demons and how he started to go down the wrong path before breaking onto the acting front.

He said: ‘The reason I’m doing this and the reason I think it’s so important to do is because I know there is somebody right now looking at this video who needs to hear what I am saying.

‘It started going out with everybody and at the end it was just me alone, waking up in a room, not knowing where I am, waking up in a ditch, getting into fights, being arrested.’

He added: ‘I mean…it’s just, I went down such a dark path that sitting here I can’t even believe that was my story.’

Alexander went on to reveal that at just 14-years-old he was downing 14 shots a day and a wild night became a ‘trend for me over the next 10 years’.

That is what eventually defined Alexander, in his mind, and became the legacy he felt he needed to live up to, before his addiction became unbearable.

He now visits Alcoholics Anonymous, is back on track and that track only appears to be taking him to the A-list.

Alongside his video, Alexander wrote: ‘My hope is by sharing my Experience with substance abuse and all that comes with it that this video can help someone who needs it.’

Black Mirror is really stepping its game up for series five.

Not only is Miley Cyrus involved, but Charlie Brooker’s only gone and cast an Avenger.

Anthony Mackie, aka Falcon, is slated to appear in the upcoming series of Black Mirror, according to Deadline, and we are so pumped.

The 40-year-old is best known for playing Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Ant-Man and Avengers: Infinity War, while he will reappear in Endgame, which is out next month.

Mackie is also taking on the lead role of Takeshi Kovacs in the second series of Altered Carbon – but has somehow found time to film for Charlie Brooker’s dark series.

Another superhero has been cast in the form of Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, aka Black Manta.

DC and Marvel meets Black Mirror? You’re spoiling us, Charlie.

Of course, as the plots of each episode of Black Mirror are kept a secret, we have no idea who Anthony and Yahya will be playing, but the news has definitely piqued our interest.

Black Mirror finally returned to Netflix after the storming success of series three and four last year with Bandersnatch – an interactive choose-your-own-adventure episode that sparked a whole lot of existential crises over Christmas.

And while a release date for series five has not been confirmed, Charlie Brooker has said it will be ‘imminent-ish’, and that the new series would be a mix of classic Black Mirror darkness and some lighter episodes.

He told Radio Times: ‘Doing Bandersnatch was like doing several episodes at once, so in one respect the other season five episodes are more straightforward, though they all come with their own challenges.’

Co-showrunner Annabel Jones added: ‘They’re all different tones, so [doing the full series] is quite similar to Bandersnatch in that respect.’

Black Mirror series five is expected on Netflix in 2019.
